I was welcomed by Telma and her husband Adriano. They are the best hosts I have ever met. Such lovely and kind people. They made me feel so welcomed as soon as I walked in the apartment. The communication was quick as soon as I sent a message they replied within minutes. They are always available and nothing is a hassle. The apartment is big and so perfectly clean and well organized. There were cold drinks in the fridge and also a delicious pastel de nata for me. The bed is so comfortable and spacious. The apartment feels like I was at home. The kitchen has everything you may need and was so clean. There’s a lovely bakery across the street. The beach is literally a few steps away. The restaurants are nearby and the food is amazing. I definitely recommend this apartment. I absolutely will be coming back.

Everythink, parking on the apartament, big kitchen and sleeping room, nice badroom. Everything what you need to have nice vacation is on the place. Best owner will help you.

A szállasadók nagyon aranyosak, kedves gesztus volt a hűtőben található üdítők bekészítése, na meg az üdvözlő pastel de nata.

A szállás először tisztának tűnt, első nap friss illat fogadott minket, majd napról napra egyre inkább felbukkant egyfajta dohos szag. Az apartman nehezen szellőztethető, kicsit sötét, kevés az ablak. Második nap már a fürdőszobában penészpöttyöket is felfedeztünk. Az ittlétünket mégis az zavarta meg leginkább, hogy a 2. éjszaka után apró, ám sok vérfoltra lettünk figyelmesek a franciaágy lepedőjén, és a takarón egyaránt. Megijedtünk, jeleztük a szállásadónak, hogy lehetséges-e, hogy ágyipoloskával van dolgunk. Kedvesek voltak, lejöttek terepszemlére hozzánk, mégis kicsit sértődöttséget érzékeltem rajtuk a feltételezés miatt. Felajánlották, hogy cserélik az ágybelit, ami meg is történt, miután mi elmentünk kirándulni. Megnyugtattak minket, hogy csak a szúnyogok miatt látjuk a pöttyöket. A barátomon számtalan, apró, láncszerű hólyagos kiütések jelentek meg, amelyek viszkettek. Később a pizsmámon én is vérfoltokra lettem figyelmes.Aznap vásároltunk a szupermarketben egy elektromos szúnyogriasztót, amit éjszakára bedugtunk a konnektorba az ágy mellé. Az ablakok, ajtók csukva voltak. Reggelre mégis keletkezett újabb vérfolt a friss ágyneműn is. Nem hagyott minket nyugodni a dolog, így nagyjából szétszedtük az ágy részeit, ami mozgatható volt. Amikor a szállásadók lejöttek hozzánk, egy kicsi részen felemelték a lepedőt, mutatva, hogy semmilyen rovar nem található ott, azonban ezek a bogarak nappal nagyon elrejtőznek, es kicsi résekben bújnak el. Leszedtük a lepedőt, a fedőmatracot, majd a nagy matracokat. Bár ágyipoloskát konkrétan nem találtunk, de a 2 matrac között csótánynimfákra lettünk figyelmesek, amelyek már nem éltek. 1-2 órával később több élő csótánynimfàt is találtunk, egy a kanapén szaladgált, a másik pedig a konyhában a lépcsőn. Itt döntöttünk úgy, hogy inkább elhagyjuk a szállast, és az utolsó éjszakát egy hotelben töltöttük.

Super aardig en behulpzaam personeel.

Vieze kamer, met zeer slordig opgemaakte bedden (zag er op het eerste gezicht wel strak uit, maar met name het hoeslaken was er gewoon omheen gefrommeld). Haren op ons bed en op de vloer, stof en zand op nachtkastje en vloer. Badkamer was wel schoonachtig, maar verre van glimmende wastafel, wat ons geen schoon gevoel over de badkamer gaf. Behalve de entree zagen we meer vieze vertrekken. We hebben zelf een schoonmaakmiddel en doekjes gekocht. Ongetwijfeld had het hotel een schoonmaker langs willen sturen, maar gezien de staat van alles deden we dit liever zelf; zo wisten we zeker dat we met een schoon gevoel door ons kamer konden. Zwembad zag er ook niet fris uit en chloorlucht was erg sterk. Baliemedewerkers en meneer in het ontbijtrestaurant waren werkelijk fantastisch; vriendelijk, geïnteresseerd en behulpzaam. Locatie van hotel is geweldig.

Nothing. The apartment, which is a basement actually was awful.

The apartment add was misleading. There wasn’t mountain view or 150 nm. In reality it is a basement not an apartment. It has direct entrance to the loud street with huge traffic and noisy playground. The basement has no normal windows. One window enters to a wall with pipelines the other to an alley with dirt and cockroaches. The basement has no air conditioner therefore there is almost 28 degrees inside with humidity. I would not recommend to anyone to stay there. The surrounding is quite noisy, there is a restaurant nearby which smells heavily to the apartment.

The decor is nice, beds are comfy.

1) Toilets have smell, likely seep in from the sewer. 2) No a/c, could get hit and humid; only one standing oscillating fan 3) Because there's no a/c, all the windows must be opened: Bugs, street noise (a lot, late into the night and early in the mmorning), noise and occasional cooking smell from the nearby restaurants, kids screaming from the nearby park, cigarettes smells from the neighbors, etc.

Toll ausgestattetes Zimmer, sehr sehr freundliche Gastgeber, sehr saubere Unterkunft, sehr gute Lage. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist wirklich hervorragend.

Appartement très spacieux, lumineux et impeccablement propre. Lit queen size très confortable, excellente isolation phonique grâce au vrai double vitrage et environnement très calme. La salle de bain est moderne et la douche offre un excellent débit. La cuisine est parfaitement équipée, avec notamment un lave-linge. J'ai beaucoup apprécié les petites attentions à mon arrivée (bouteilles d'eau, boissons fraîches au réfrigérateur et produits de douche à disposition). L'accueil a été très chaleureux. La plage de galets se trouve à seulement 200 mètres et plusieurs commerces sont accessibles à pied. Voyageant seule, je m'y suis sentie en parfaite sécurité.

S'il fallait vraiment trouver un petit point d'amélioration, des rideaux occultants dans le salon seraient les bienvenus pour éviter les réveils très matinaux. À part cela, rien à redire

Wyjątkowo czysto, w apartamencie było wszystko, co potrzebne , a nawet więcej. Miły, pomocny właśniciel, wspaniała piekarnia obok, wygodne miejsce parkingowe, gorąco polecam!

Nasz pobyt był fantastyczny, z całego serca polecamy to miejsce każdemu, kto wybiera się na Maderę. Apartament był zadbany, dobrze wyposażony i przygotowany z ogromną starannością. Czuliśmy się tutaj bardzo komfortowo. Na szczególne wyróżnienie zasługuje właściciel, który okazał się niezwykle miłym i serdecznym człowiekiem. Na powitanie czekały na nas napoje oraz drobny poczęstunek. Właściciel poświęcił nam czas, aby opowiedzieć o Maderze, polecić najpiękniejsze miejsca, restauracje i atrakcje. Jeśli ponownie odwiedzimy Maderę, z pewnością wrócimy właśnie tutaj. Dziękujemy za wspaniały pobyt!

Nice, comfortable property. Host was very welcoming and provided pastry and coffee upon arrival. There is a bakery close by, where we had breakfast.

Super ontvangst met gebakjes en volop drankjes in de koelkast. Gastheer was heel aardig met leuke tips. Restaurant naast het appartement was heel goed! Appartement was heel schoon met veel faciliteiten. Heerlijk bed!

Canical is niet heel bijzonder maar ideaal. Om de p8 te lopen!

Adriano und Telma sind richtig tolle Gastgeber! Ich würde jederzeit wieder hier her kommen! Das Apartment war sehr sauber und hatte eine klasse Lage direkt in der Nähe ist ein Bäcker und Supermarkt.

Madeira byla úchvatná a i celé ubytování moc pěkné. Pan majitel se o nás velmi dobře staral, byl diskrétní i pohostinný zároveň. Holky vzpomínají na jeho krásné pejsky. Dětské hřiště, úžasná pekárna, překrásná promenáda kolem moře.. užívali jsme si výlety do přírody, hor, na písečné pláže i odpočinek. Skvělý byl i karneval přímo v městečku. Děkujeme a nikdy nezapomeneme.

El apartamento coincide con las fotos del anuncio. Sin embargo, en ellas no se aprecia que no tiene ventanas al exterior, solo una puerta que da al aparcamiento y a una calle concurrida. No había ni rastro de la prometida "vista al mar". El anfitrión estaba esperando en la puerta con la llave. Por lo demás, solo le interesaba cobrar la tasa turística. (La botella de Madeira solo se mencionaba en el anuncio. Pero había cerveza fría, sidra y agua. ¡Gracias!)

Herzliche Begrüßung, trotz sehr später Anreise unsererseits mit Pastel de Nata. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet und man hat viel Platz. Gutes Fischrestaurants und Bäckerei direkt ums Eck.

Die Wohnung ist groß, bequeme Betten. Als Willkommensgruß gab es paar Getränke im Kühlschrank.

In der Wohnung riecht es minimal nach Feuchtigkeit, aber es könnte sein, dass es auch an der Jahreszeit lag und im Sommer anders ist.

Lovely apartment with great hosts

The weather was cold and rainy very rainy ! There was no heating in the apartment and we were cold I should have checked this prior to booking !! Yesterday afternoon we sat outside when the sun shone and it was warmer outside than inside

The host was wonderful. He welcomed us on arrival and even drove us to the start of the walk we wanted to do. He also left helpful gifts for us (beer and water and some delicious traditional cakes) and kindly drove us to the airport when we left.

I would have liked a blind to darken the room and some shower gel in the bathroom

Traktowalismy obiekt typowo tylko do spania calymi dniami spedzalismy czas zwiedzajac Maderę. Łóżka mega wygodne. Blisko piekarnia i restauracja.

Troszke bylo czuc wilgoc i nieprzyjemny zapach z szafek w kuchni wiadomo wyspa. No i okna widok na ścianę z innego budynku.

L'appartement est incroyable. Beau et propre, vous y trouvez tout le confort possible. À quelques kilomètres d'une plage magnifique de sable noir et des plus belle randonnée de Madère.

A szállás kiváló. A szálláshoz tartozik saját parkoló az udvarban. 20 méterre pékség, élelmiszerbolt található. Az apartman körül 3 db étterem, illetve italozó található. A szálláson sör, víz volt a hűtőben, süteménnyel várt a tulaj és rendkívül barátságos volt.

Nekünk kicsit hiányzott a fűtés. Bár rendelkezésre állt 1 db olajradiátor, de az a hűvösebb éjszakán kevésnek bizonyult.

We really loved our stay at Studio Home Away From Home. Telma was a fantastic host — very welcoming and kind. She greeted us with delicious pastéis de nata and local cider, which was such a lovely touch. The accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were spacious and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring Madeira. The location is also great — there are excellent restaurants and a bakery just a stone’s throw away, which was very convenient. Highly recommended, we would happily stay here again!

From the very first moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Telma’s husband, Adriano, who showed me around the apartment and answered all my questions. I immediately got a great first impression. I truly enjoyed staying here. The bed was extremely comfortable, with a wonderful pillow and duvet that ensured excellent sleep. The apartment is small but at the same time very spacious, beautifully furnished, and feels new and modern. Everything was spotless and well maintained. I did not see any ants or lizards inside, which I really appreciated. Throughout my stay, I communicated with Telma via WhatsApp and always received incredibly quick and helpful responses. This is also the perfect place to stay due to its close proximity to the stunning Ponta de São Lourenço. I would absolutely stay here again if I return to beautiful Madeira and can highly recommend this accommodation.

There was really nothing that caused any inconvenience for me during my stay. The bathroom fan was a bit louder than what I am used to at home, but it did not affect my comfort. There was also a slight unusual smell in one of the kitchen cupboards where the plates were stored. Additionally, there is no dishwasher, but this was absolutely not an issue for me as I mostly ate out.

Tolle Lage: das Meer, Restaurants, ein Bäcker und der Supermarkt sind nur wenige Meter entfernt. Super Ausstattung der Ferienwohnung. Als Begrüßungsgeschenk gab es Gebäck und Getränke. Und das Beste: sehr gastfreundliche Vermieter! Wir haben so viele tolle Tipps für unseren Urlaub bekommen!

Accommodation is spacious, all facilities is in good condition,well maintained and hosts were nice and accommodating. Parking space was given at property despite it was published as not to have parking space included. Terrace offers also great seating for the evenings.

There wasn't anything not to like. Only minor item for future consideration would be A/C as there isn't one and inside can be very humid and hot, even in October.

De host was heel vriendelijk, een warm welkom met een gebakje en met wat drinken gevulde koelkast. Hij wees ons alvast wat goede eettentjes en de kinderspeeltuin en bakker. Raadde ons wandelroutes. Madeira sea emotions whale en dolphin watching is zeker aan te raden om te boeken. Vanaf de haven van Canical maak je een geweldige ervaring mee, met als je mazzel hebt, ook nog dolfijnen en walvissen.

Het huisje is best donker, maar van alle gemakken voorzien. De bedden waren ok, we hadden alleen niet begrepen bij een 6 pers huisje dat we zelf het 5e bed op moesten maken. Er zijn namelijk 2 tweepersoonsbedden maar opgemaakt en wij zijn met 5 personen.

Goede en vriendelijke ontvangst met beheerder. Alles verliep voorspoedig. Wij waren hier 2 nachten en dat was voldoende. Bedden sliepen goed. Leuk met welkomst drankjes en klein gebakje, heel attent. Schoon en we konden de auto op de oprit kwijt. Bakker en supermarkt dichtbij aan de overkant en ruime openingstijden.

Je zit aan een weg en hoort het verkeer best wel luid, ook de mensen van het naast gelegen restaurant. Maar gezellig als je van wat reuring houdt. De handdoeken zouden wel wat frisser mogen ruiken, verder wel fijn dat er genoeg in de kast op voorraad waren.

Casa muito limpa, proprietários muito simpáticos. Deixaram uns miminhos de boas vindas.

We spent great time in Home Away from Home. We had late check in in the middle of the night but the owner waited for us and explained everything nicely. There were biers and water in the fridge and small cakes waiting for us. The place is conveniently located giving the opportunity for great walks and swimming in the see. The apartment is very convenient for 4 people and equipped with all what can be needed. So overall this was great experience.

Property is perfectly situated right in the heart of the town, steps away from the ocean. Space was very clean and had all you need . Owners were extremely nice , providing us helpful tips for trips around and also had a cold six pack of beer and another six pack of cider in the fridge as a welcome gift. Would sure go back .

Clean, spacy apartment with great view at Caniçal main square, ocean and green rocks:) Truly hospitable owners did care about our comfort and advised nice places to go to. We were welcomed with a plate of fruits and refreshment drinks. A big plus was a parking lot belonging to the apartment. Neighboring bakery with fresh local goods every morning and delicious food in a restaurant just around the corner made it perfect! We plan to come back!

Our hosts were friendly and accommodating! Our flight was a little delayed so we ended up arriving later than check-in time, but it wasn't a problem and they met us at the property when we arrived. They had great advice as to where we should visit around the island and even helped us out with transport when we needed it. The apartment itself was so cute and perfect for me and my friends. We are a group of 20 year old girls and we felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time. The town itself is great too and there is a beautiful black sand beach about 7 minutes away by car. Overall great experience and 10/10 recommend!

Everything was a little bit old. Strong odor from the cutlery cupboard. Poorly functioning shower doors. Unpleasant smell from nearby garbage bins, worsened by our Sunday arrival when trash hadn't been collected. Uninteresting city surroundings.

Very clean and a lot of space. Great snack bar near bay. Close to the playground, supermarket and bakery. And the best is hospitality of the owners. They are lovely people.

Next to property are a rubbish (public) and the smell isn’t pleasant.

We appreciate the hosts who did everything to make our stay comfortable. We had big kitchen we could prepare meals albo ourselves , parking place and restaurants nearby. San Lorenzo trial and 2 sandy beaches are also really close. The appartment is huge, which makes the stay even more comfortable. Price is reasonable

We were looked after Like family, Thank you for such a lovely stay, everything was perfect. Delightfully run and wonderful apartment in a fantastic location. Everything is close by, shops and restaurants. Swimming too, although if you drive 5 mins to prainha beach, it's the best on the island. The owners were wonderful, thank you Adriano and Terma x

The hosts and the accommodations were equally wonderful. We had a well equipped 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with full kitchen, laundry, sun porch, restaurant next door and veranda with a view of the ocean for just the two of us AND a fantastic bakery across the park. Who could ask for more?

Everything more than met our expectations. We were so happy!

Great place to spend holidays away from tourist masses, I really liked the accommodation and the owners were super nice :)

The apartment is great, very spacious and well equipped. The bedrooms are large, the beds are quite comfortable. The kitchen is large and has everything if you are up to cooking at home. Living and dining space is somewhat smallish compared to other rooms in this apartment. It has a TV, but it doesn't have time shifting, so you are stuck to what is on at the moment of watching. There is also a nice terrace overlooking the main square and church of the village. Location is quite great in terms of proximity to restaurants (just outside the house), whale museum (within walking distance), Cabo de Sao Lorenzo, beach of Sao Lorenzo, beach of Machico (by car). The place is not very calm, so I would recommend this place for people who like to stay up until small hours.

The place is very loud, especially on weekend nights (it seems like it's a party village for locals of greater surrounding area), and the house has little to none sound insulation. Children playground at daytime becomes a teenager spot at night time, and closing all windows does not prevent you from hearing every squeak, and they do that a lot, and until late. What is more, there is a place across the square that plays loud music until small hours making sure you don't fall asleep too early. Public large waste/trash containers and public toilets just outside the house - if the wind comes your way, you get some of that rather unpleasant smell. The same about the restaurant downstairs with frying fish smells. Pools of Canical are not working, and it doesn't seem they are likely to reopen anytime soon. Canical is quite different than other villages, with a large port and industrial-like townscape. It's well worth visiting, but I'm not sure it's the best place to stay unless you enjoy some nightlife. As there are not too many options to stay here, the prices are quite high, so looking back my preference would be to stay in Funchal for the same price and to visit Machico/Canical/Canical from there.

Amazing Location, just across the road to the harbour and attached beach, close to hikes, nice restaurants nearby

Telma and her husband are very hospitable people and have lots of good recommendations for the town. it’s a great starting point for various hikes (given u have a car) and the local people are very welcoming. the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped.

Telma and her husband, who own the house, were very friendly and helpful, including picking us up from the airport. The house was very comfortable, spacious, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The verandah overlooked a square with trees, a church and a small playground, also with views down to the harbour. Nearby there were fish restaurants, bakeries/cafés, mini supermarkets etc. Walking above the town there is an area of distinctive red rocks with views of the cliffs and sea, and a walk along the Levada de Caniçal. Along the seafront opportunities to swim. SAM bus 113 (Funchal-Caniçal-Baia d’Abra) goes to Ponta de Sao Lourenço.

Host Telma was very friendly and helpful, the place is beautiful in a nice location, and private parking is available, it was very clean, just perfect!
