Guru view Home stay

We loved our stay at Guru View. Perfectly located in the quiet Pipiting Village, we enjoyed the comfortable room, delicious homemade food, and warm hospitality.

Accueil très chaleureux, hébergement très confortable, repas délicieux, gentillesse des hôtes, localisation parfaite hors de Padum (bruyant) mais suffisamment proche pour y aller à pied. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Rien

The property is clean, spacious and has sweeping views across to mountains and the nearby gompa. The family who run the homestay are very welcoming and friendly, and the homecooked food each night was delicious traditional Ladakhi cuisine. Our room was very comfortable, with a newly fitted private bathroom. There is a local store nearby for any supplies needed. This is a lovely place to stay when in Padum.

It's a cozy homestay run by a family. Please don't expect service like a hotel as the hosts manage their daily life and not at your disposal all the time. They provide tasty homemade food and neat and clean rooms. If you go with the right expectations, you will enjoy your stay.

We loved everything about our stay in Guru View Homestay! The location is peaceful and quiet. Our room was lovely, comfortable and clean. Plus, we had a great mountain view from our room window. The hosts, Stanzin and Lhamo, were friendly, welcoming and very kind and helpful. They provided valuable information to enhance our stay in Zanskar and assisted us with transportation arrangements to see various sights in the greater area. Additionally, the food they served was exceptionally good. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.

Excellent hospitality, clean and cozy with a beautiful communal eating area, great food, good location (a little away from the market, near the Gompa).

Very friendly, spacious clean room, good food, good vibes

Breakfast is good and it is served in traditional way. Hosts are very nice and hospitable. Room is nice and clean. Very nice experience to stay in this homestay.

Quite and Peaceful. Clean and neat. Comfy and relaxed. Enjoyed my stay.

Like any homestays in Ladakh this is no different. Seems more geared towards europeans and whites when you see their table and when you hear they tolerate the bickering of European travellers. Seems very awkward to hear while around them. The homestay is very comfortable and considerate. My stay was very pleasent.

I really want to return to Padum and stay at Rate Guru View Homestay again. Very delicious breakfasts and dinners, spacious rooms, hot water, internet—everything you need to recharge before trekking in the mountains. Most importantly, the very responsive hosts helped us with all our questions. I highly recommend Rate Guru View Homestay if you are planning a trip to Zanskar. I wholeheartedly give it a 10 out of 10!

Loved the family and the room was cosy and warm

That I only stayed one night

Little gem in a beautiful city in the middle of the mountain. We are welcomed with a warm heart, good food and a very comfy room!

It was beyond wonderful to stay with Tenzin Thuktop Lay and Sherab Lhamo Lay in their comfortable and cozy homestay. We were fortunate enough to arrive during the morning of a puja - how peaceful to heat the chanting of monks from the other room. So many wonderful things to list that my mother and I liked/loved during our stay. Sherab Lhamos Ladakhi cooking excellent! We were able to have my favorite dish twice during our stay. The place is quiet and peaceful and away from the business of the city. I really enjoyed talking to Tenzin Thuktop about the changes in Zanskar and exchanging some Tibetan language with him. This is easily one of my favorite homestays I’ve experienced. You’re given just the perfect amount of privacy and quietness and then the evening is nice for chatting. The dining area is communal which is nice to speak to other travelers - if they’re not stuck to their phones. The bathrooms are extremely cleans and very very hot water. I can’t wait to go back and stay for month while I explore the area more on bicycle and practice my Tibetan language.

Everything

Everything at this guesthouse was excellent! The family are exceptionally kind, and the rooms are clean, modern and beautiful with great mountain views. Meals aren’t included but they are affordable, healthy and tasty. 30 minute walk away from the market so nice and quiet too. There is also hot water and wifi. Will definitely stay again!

No complaints :)

A genuine homestay, with a lovely family who have two adorable children. Please carry some chocolates for them. Cleanliness and food both was top notch.

The stay was good, clean . The staff was friendly, helpful, supportive and kind.

There was nothing as such for us to not like

View is beautiful..owner is helpful..room is big and clean..and there is a garden too

Excellent location. Great hosts. It felt like home.

We loved everything. There is no wifi. The electricity is meagre. But then that is for whole Padum.

Very clean, big rooms, nice plan and architecture, extremely friendly and helpful owner

Very-very small things (WiFi can be better). All the rest is great

Neat and clean amidst the rural setting Calm and quiet and very green Simple and traditional

Nothing to dislike

An exceptional place to rest in Zanskar, as simple as it. Very comfortable wooden room: big room, with a lot of natural light, views to glaciers, big comfortable bed, private bathroom with hot water. Great ubication, in a quiet place just 15 minuts walking from the Padum center. The entire house is very beautiful, with is own garden, and a rest and shared dinning room as comfortable as the private rooms are. The hosts are absolutely lovely, and helped us every step of the way to organize our stay in Zanskar. They also offer delicious traditional cuisine dinners that we enjoyed immensely.

Nothing. We would have liked to extend our stay longer.
