We liked truly everything. Beautiful property, incredible team, lovely village. Top quality breakfast, kitchen and cleaning. We would have stayed a month if we could.

Nous avons séjourné trois nuits dans ce magnifique et paisible village à la fin de notre voyage, et ce séjour nous a donné envie d’y rester bien plus longtemps. Tout était parfait ! Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit et espérons avoir la chance d’y revenir un jour. Au-delà du charme des lieux, nous avons particulièrement apprécié l’accueil chaleureux et l’attention du personnel, toujours aux petits soins, ainsi que la qualité irréprochable du service. Les produits proposés dans la chambre, tout comme les plats et les petits-déjeuners, permettent de découvrir et de savourer pleinement la culture crétoise. Merci pour ce magnifique projet et pour cette belle expérience !

We only stayed two nights but could have stayed a month at this hotel, everything was exceptional, from the welcome to the quality of the rooms and the grounds, home-style cooking, a restful setting — anyone passing through the region on vacation absolutely must stop at St Ten Stone Built Village!!

Nous avons passé quelques jours très agréables. Le lieu est vraiment magnifique, calme, apaisant. Les chambres sont jolies, confortables et très propres. Le petit-déjeuner est de grande qualité. Et que dire de l'accueil, incroyable et chaleureux, nous avons eu la chance de découvrir une hospitalité exceptionnelle, qui donne envie de rester et de revenir. Un grand merci en particulier à Aphrodite !

We had a wonderful holiday in Crete thanks to St Ten! The property is beautiful and brand new, the breakfast is really good, and so is all the freshly prepared food you can enjoy by the pool during the day. A big thank you to the St Ten Family for making us feel at home. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Die Unterkunft wurde mit so viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Die Gastgeber waren super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zimmer und Pool waren einfach nur perfekt! Auch das Konzept der unterschiedlichen „Neighborhoods“ hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir kommen sicherlich wieder.

Für uns war die Lage perfekt – etwas abseits von den üblichen Touristen-Hotspots. Allerdings sollte man wissen, dass man unbedingt ein Auto braucht, wenn man die Umgebung erkunden möchte. Da wir eines hatten, war das für uns aber kein Problem.

Beautiful place in a vintage style, everything is clean, pleasant staff, excellent food. There is a tavern with excellent food nearby, a really excellent place, highly recommended A very quiet place, not recommended for children. A place for adults, mainly couples.

Il y a bien une cuisine mais sans aucun ustensile pour cuisiner et c'est bien dommage. L'établissement propose un excellent restaurant à côté...ceci explique peut être cela.

A truly peaceful and wonderful place in Crete – perfect for relaxation and beautiful feel-good moments. The hotel is run with so much love, warmth and a wonderful family spirit. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and from the very first moment we felt completely at home. Every morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and in the evening we were spoiled with wonderful homemade food from Mama’s Kitchen – authentic, fresh and made with love. It is the perfect place to slow down, relax and simply enjoy the beauty of Crete. We had such a wonderful and relaxing time here. Thank you for making our stay so special. We will definitely come back!

Everything about this place was amazing. The room was super spacious, clean and bright. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and cozy. The restaurant in place was amazing and the food was super fresh and delicious especially the orange pie with ice cream. The staff were super nice and friendly. Loved every single moment there.

Le lieu est très joli et les personnes qui tiennent ce lieu sont adorables Le petit dejeuner est excellent La piscine est jolie même si elle est peu profonde et étroite A noter que vous pouvez être loges dans une annexe de l hôtel, donc pas forcément dans le bâtiment principal, ce que je n avais pas compris, mais ce ne fut pas gênant La localisation est appréciable pour profiter du calme de la Messara après être passe au Nord et au sud ouest, le site de Gortyna a proximité est extra ordinaire! Le village de Agia Deka charge d histoire est tres agréable avec des habitants tres hospitaliers Les repas et boissons sont bons même si chers

La kitchenette n ́'est pour ainsi dire pas du tout équipée pour cuisineri; certes il y a des plaques, mais pas de poêle ni de casserole, ni de torchon, ni de liquide vaisselle, il y a seulement une machine a café et une bouilloire avec le minimum d assiettes verres couverts. La musique autour de la piscine est trop présente et genante si on souhaite se reposer.. A l heure où tout le monde peut choisir d être au calme ou écouter de la musique via ses écouteurs, cela nous a franchement gênés notamment le dernier soir le samedi ou elle était beaucoup trop forte et nous a fait quitter la piscine, pourtant elle très agréable Il manque le rideau ou une protection pour la douche, l eau se répand sur le sol de la salle de douche et cela est glissant

Wij verbleven hier voor ons babymoon en dat was perfect! Iedere ochtend een fijn ontbijt. De accommodatie is rustig, weinig kamers en echt een plek om lekker tot rust te komen. Iedere dag wordt de kamer schoongemaakt en niks was teveel gevraagd!

De accommodatie is in het binnenland. Ongeveer 30 minuten rijden van het strand. Ook niet echt heel veel eet gelegenheden of een boulevard met eetcafeetjes/winkeltjes in de buurt. Dit was voor ons prima en wisten wij van tevoren. Juist de rust en nog veel minder toerisme was heerlijk. Er zijn wel genoeg eet mogelijkheden maar liggen allemaal wat verspreid in de buurt en daarvoor heb je wel een auto nodig.

We had a really lovely stay at St Ten Stone Built Village. The setting is peaceful and full of character, with beautiful traditional stone buildings and a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and the whole place felt well cared for. A special mention goes to Aphrodite, who was especially friendly and helpful throughout our stay. She made us feel very welcome and was always happy to give advice and help with anything we needed, which really made a difference to our experience. Overall, a great place to stay if you want somewhere calm, authentic, and welcoming in Crete. We would happily return.

Es ist sehr besonders da. Wie man aus anderen Bewertungen bereits entnehmen kann, ein Dorf im Dorf. Ich habe selten etwas mit so viel Liebe zum Detail gesehen. Sowohl die Zimmer als auch das kleine geschaffene Dorf selbst, sind wirklich wunderschön. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber. Man ist schnell mit dem Auto an sehenswerten Orten. Bspw. Matala. Die Betreiber sind sehr freundlich. Das Essen war gut. Für mein empfinden ist das „Mamas cooking“ ein wenig teuer im Verhältnis. Dennoch lecker. In der Nähe gibt es ebenfalls ein sehr gutes Restaurant. Eine gute Gelegenheit dem stressigen Alltag zu entfliehen und mal eine andere Seite von Kreta zu erleben. Absolute Empfehlung.

We had an exceptional stay at Stenstone Built Village. The place is absolutely beautiful, very intimate and peaceful — perfect for relaxing and enjoying Crete. Everything is thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail, which makes the whole experience truly unique. The homemade breakfast was amazing, especially the granola, which was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had. You can really feel the quality of the products and the care put into every preparation. The welcome was warm, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere authentic and relaxing. We highly recommend this place and would love to come back again.

Als Booking com. Urlauber bekommt man trotz Superiorbuchung nur die Hinterzimmer im Nebengebäude ausserhalb der Anlage. Bilder vom Hotel passen nicht zusammen, mit dem was man erhält. Pool, Bar und Restaurant befinden sich aber in der Anlage. Nachdem wir beschlossen das Hotel zu verlassen, bekamen wir andere, 200% bessere Zimmer. Booking com. sollte hier was tun ! es ging uns im nächsten Hotel genau so. Wir haben 3 Stunden Urlaub gestritten!

Ten Stone ist unser Lieblingshotel bei Matala. Ein wunderschönes Hotel, dass sich anfühlt wie ein Dorf.Man braucht ein Mietauto. In ca.20 Minuten ist man damit in Matala. Das Hotel, das Dorf, die wunderschöne Taverne, die traditionelle Kirche mit den Menschen und Tieren, die sich dort auf dem Kirchplatz treffen, das gute Essen....einfach perfekt

Wat een heerlijke plek. De ontvangst was al amper fijn. Wij hadden een prachtige kamer met een geweldig uitzicht op het kerkje tijdens zonsondergang. Een mooie, ruime, fijne badkamer. Een heerlijk terras. Fijne ligbedden bij het zwembad

Kleines, familiengeführtes Hotel in den Bergen, fernab des Massentourismus. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet, ist es eine echte Ruheoase. Lange Spaziergänge in den angrenzenden Feldern möglich. Gute Wanderrouten in der Nähe. Stilvolle, gemütliche und geräumige Zimmer und bequeme Betten, angenehmes Publikum, keine Massen und wohltuende Ruhe. Der Service ist herzlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstücksbuffet ein Traum: Alles ist selbst zubereitet und von bester Qualität. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Excellente surprise! Ensemble de plusieurs maisonnettes fraichement rénovées autour de l'église, de façon très soignée. Bravo pour cette conservation du patrimoine de village ! Accueil aimable, quoiqu'encore un peu hésitant par manque de pratique. Logement bien équipé, lit très confortable. On a beaucoup aimé cette expérience.

Quelques suggestions d'aménagements complémentaires: il manque un élément portant supplémentaire pour poser ses habits dans la chambre, et une tablette pour poser ses affaires de toilettes dans la salle de bain du bas. Rideau de bain. Un élément textile dans la pièce du bas éviterait qu'elle ne résonne. En cas de fraicheur ou de météo changeante, un pièce d'intérieur pour prendre le petit déjeuner serait appréciable (ouverture prochaine de la taverne?) Petit déjeuner pas mal, mais encore un peu trop de produits manufacturés. Ce serait encore mieux si tout était fait maison; le cuisinier semble compétent. Diner correct, on a vite fait le tour de la carte. Un schéma explicatif pour se rendre au parking serait plus simple que 5 min d'explications pour 200m à parcourir.

L'hôtel se trouve dans un petit village typique au calme. Le petit déjeuner est très bien garnis, avec des produits frais, variés et typique de la Grèce. Mention spécial au cuisinier qui fait des œufs brouillés extrêmement bon. La qualité de la rénovation des bâtiments est vraiment très belle. La chambre était spacieuse, bien agencée, calme. La piscine était au top. Un cadre magique. L'accueil et les conseils nous ont été à la hauteur.

Ein wunderschön gestaltetes Ensemble an Zimmern/Gebäuden wie ein Dorf im Dorf. Das Frühstück im Restaurantbereich am Pool lässt keine Wünsche offen. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Besichtigung von Gortis, Phaistos und Ausflüge z.B.nach Matala. Alles Bestens!

Het voelt echt als een klein vakantie dorpje waar je in terecht komt. De kamers en de openbare ruimtes zijn heel schoon en alles wordt goed bijgehouden. De service is top en het ontbijt was lekker uitgebreid, met veel vers gemaakte cakes, gerechten en super lekkere granola.

La structure du village avec tous ces hébergements plus jolis les uns que les autres. L'accueil très professionnel et adorable de tout le personnel. Nous étions logés côtés lemon. La déco du logement était de très bon goût et ultra propre comme toute la structure. La literie ferme. Le petit déj super agréable et suffisamment copieux, le tout servi au bord de la piscine. L'endroit est très apaisant et d'un calme royal. A 50 mètres un resto traditionnel nous a été recommandé, nous l'avons testé deux soirs de suite, très agréable et très bon, accueil très chaleureux. Parking fermé gratuit. Toute la structure fonctionne avec des cartes magnétiques.

Ein Paradies für Leute, die auf Trubel und Strandhotels gerne verzichten.Wir haben uns sofort in das familiengeführte Hotel und das ruhige Dorf mit Taverne, Kirche und kleinem Marktplatz verliebt.Man braucht ein Auto um Ausflüge zu machen.Matala ist etwa 20 km entfernt, wohin wir abends gerne zum Sonnenuntergang gefahren sind.Wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder.

Ein größerer Pool und ein Haus im Dorf, in welches wir auch unsere Enkel mitnehmen können. Die Coctailbar ist nächstes Jahr hoffentlich fertig:))

Grand raffinement , calme, authanticité

De kamers zijn nieuw, wat onmiddelijk opvalt is de degelijkheid van de materialen en het oog voor detail. De service die de koppels aan de gasten leveren is onberispelijk, echt alles wordt met een welgemeende glimlach voor u gedaan. Zowel het ontbijt als de eventuele diners zijn superlekker. Wij waren de laatste gasten van het seizoen en verbleven enkele dagen alleen in het complex maar de service bleef evenwel van een zeer hoog niveau, altijd respectvol voor onze privacy maar zeer aanspreekbaar en familiaal indien wij daar zin in hadden. Goede tips en aanwijzingen gekregen en als wij tijdens het ontbijt onze dagplanning voorlegden kegen we steevast nog wat goede raad voor een geslaagde dagtrip. Het complex ligt in een klein dorpje in het binnenland dus een huurauto is een must maar door de centrale ligging zijn de meeste bezienswaardigheden vlot bereikbaar.

Wij hebben na 9 dagen geen enkele negatieve opmerking.

Es ist ein Juwel mitten im Nirgendwo. Wunderschön mit Liebe zum Detail! Das Frühstück ist toll - der beste Joghurt den ich in meinem Leben je gegessen habe! Wir haben zum Geburtstag meines Mannes ein Zimer-Upgrade und eine Flasche Sekt bekommen. Das Essen ist auch hervorragend!

L'ensemble est superbe et donne déjà l'envie d'y revenir. Le concept des maisons rénovées est très appréciable : intimité, ambiance authentique et apaisante, variété des logements proposés. Une belle restauration, faite avec beaucoup de soin, des matériaux nobles et de qualité. Également une très belle décoration. Petit déjeuner magnifique, présenté avec beaucoup de soin ; des produits frais et faits maison. Gentillesse du personnel et la petite attention offerte lors du départ permet de prolonger les beaux souvenirs passés dans cet hôtel.

We absolutely loved our stay at St-Ten Stone Built Village. This beautiful, luxurious property has been sympathetically restored with stunning stonework and wood features, creating a charming and authentic atmosphere. It truly feels like a private village within a village — peaceful, secluded, and far removed from the usual tourist spots, yet conveniently close to places like Matala Beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived — nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was wonderful, and the on-site restaurant was a real highlight. Mama’s cooking is simply outstanding, with delicious, authentic home-cooked Greek dishes served in a warm and inviting setting. Our apartment was large, beautifully furnished, and spotlessly clean, with excellent air conditioning, a fantastic shower, and a spacious terrace overlooking the village church and surrounding countryside and hills. The pool area was lovely too, with comfy sun loungers and a relaxing atmosphere. There’s even a private gated car park just off Agia Deka Main Street, which made arriving and exploring very easy. Although there’s no sea view, the peaceful countryside setting more than makes up for it. The combination of stunning stonework and natural wood creates a space that feels both rustic and modern — a perfect blend of comfort and tradition. This place is a true hidden gem. Less than an hour from the airport, easy to find, and perfect for anyone looking to experience authentic Cretan hospitality. We took lots of photographs during our stay, and we’ve come away truly inspired to incorporate some of the same design ideas into our own home renovation — the attention to detail here is that impressive. This is, without doubt, the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We usually never return to the same area or hotel, but St-Ten has completely changed that — we’re already planning our next visit.

Everything: the food, the pool and the atmosphere

Stunningly designed, looks and feels historic yet packed with modern, top-quality fixtures and furnishings. Rooms are spacious with a separate lounge and mini kitchen and individual patio areas in front of pool which feel private and secluded with sun beds, table and chairs. Breakfasts are a treat and the taverna next door is wonderful.

Everything about the property was great but the surrounding area is less appealing - although there are good beaches about 20 minutes drive away.

Sehr schöne Gebäude, Zimmer mit top Ausstattung. Sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr freundliches Personal. Ein Familienbetrieb. Man kann dort auch zu Abend essen. Die Mama kocht. Da wir viel unterwegs waren, haben wir diese Möglichkeit nicht genutzt. Es wichtig zu wissen, daß man zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten und Stränden mindestens 20 min mit dem PKW fahren muss. Die Unterkunft liegt daher sehr zentral, wenn man sich die Gegend ansehen möchte. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

The location is great - a small and beautiful village with a cute central square with a church and a taverna with amazing food right in the center of it. The staff was very friendly - they even prepared some granola to-go for our early check out. They are very professional and hospitable. The pool area is nice and peaceful. The parking lot is easily accessible. The breakfast was great, and so were the deserts!

Einfach nur Wow! Super Service, ein Familienbetrieb mit nur freundlichem Personal, inkl. der Reinigung. Hier stimmt das Gesamtkonzept, der Kunde steht vollkommen im Vordergrund und man macht alles für die Zufriedenheit. Das Frühstück war lecker, man hat reichlich von allem da, bitte kein Buffet wie in grossen Hotels erwarten, es wird hier auf die Herkunft aus der Region und Qualität Wert gelegt. Auf Wunsch kocht die Mama das Abendessen, wie es hier auf Kreta üblich ist. So ein sauberes Hotel haben wir noch nie gesehen, wir achten uns sehr darauf und konnten keine dreckigen Winkel entdecken. Das Pool wird jeden Abend gereinigt! Das Dorf ist ruhig und typisch, man hat hier jedoch eine Idylle geschaffen, was man nicht erwartet, wenn man in das Dorf reinfährt. Automiete (wie auf Kreta üblich) ist ein muss.

Es gibt nichts, wirklich gar nichts auszusetzen. Da müsste man die Nadel im Heuhaufen suchen und die Nadel nie finden.

Schon beim ersten Betreten des Village fühlten wir uns wohl und waren begeistert. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Die Unterkunft ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet und einfach wunderschön. Jeden Tag mit "Mamas Cooking" ein Highlight beim Essen. 😀

El hotel está impecable, muy bien decorado y en un entorno muy agradable. Los propietarios son encantadores u te ayudan en todo lo que necesites. Tienen una zona muy chula al lado de la piscina para tomar el desayuno , comer o cenar. Comida casera local super rica. Nos gustó mucho quedarnos allí.

Eine Wohlfühl- und Entspannungsoase auf ganzer Linie. Die Zimmer sind sauber und sehr großzügig geschnitten, sie sind stilbewusst und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Besonders zu erwähnen ist die traumhafte Anlage, die genauso stilbewusst und geschmackvoll gestaltet ist. Dass Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet, auch Mama´s Kitchen am Abend ist sehr zu empfehlen, hier werden großen Wert auf saisonale sowie regionale Produkte gelegt. Es handelt sich um ein familiengeführtes Boutique Hotel, die Inhaber und das Personal sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

We loved the breakfast which consisted of homemade pastries, breads, cake and granola, Greek yogurt, fruit, cheeses and bacon and freshly cooked eggs. Our rooms were off the main hotel site on a tiny side street in a small courtyard with three properties. We had a short stroll to the main hotel site. The hotel and additional buildings have been built and decorated to a very high standard with beautiful finishes and this was appreciated. The staff were friendly and accommodating and everything was clean and tidy. Dinner is available in the evening and there is another restaurant just around the corner.

On the way down to the hotel there was ‘evidence’ of dogs visits

Stunning stone built compound, beautiful and spacious room, well decorated and clean, super quiet despite the proximity to the pool and restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner were great. The staff were very friendly, family owned hotel.

The only thing that bothered me was that we ran out of hot water in the shower (happened only one time throughout our stay).

Neue, sehr gepflegte Anlage mit freundlichem Personal. Alles wirkt sehr familiär, Frühstück und Essen im Hotel waren super.

Мы отметили высокое качество обслуживания: Отель такой красивый! - и номера, и весь комплекс, в комнатах отличные и удобные матрасы, хорошая косметика, вкусные завтраки с хорошим выбором и собственными продуктами, прекрасный бассейн. Мы почувствовали поддержку и доброту каждого - когда приехали поздно вечером, а нас ждал ужин, несмотря на закрытую кухню ресторана, и каждый день проживания здесь - только бесконечное гостеприимство и высокий уровень сервиса.

Нет ни одного момента, который не понравился, все прекрасно.

We spent 3 nights at St Ten Stone Village and were absolutely delighted. The residence is calm, beautifully renovated, and perfectly clean, with an incredible pool and stunning surroundings. The authentic village atmosphere, the charming church, and the attention to every detail make it feel like a luxury hotel. The staff are exceptionally kind, attentive, and always available, which made our stay even more special. The breakfast is homemade and exceptional, and the tavern next door offers fantastic traditional meals for dinner. It was an enchanting experience where we truly felt at home. We highly recommend St Ten Stone Village to anyone visiting Crete!
