Almost Heaven - 4 min drive from Donegal Town

The location was quiet and a short drive to town. The fire was set to light and very cosy.

Loved the lighting and the privacy, you get up to open the terrace door and all you see is the world covered in morning dew and chickens. No sounds, no disturbances, can barely hear the 3 cars a day from up the road. Crazy actually when you realise it takes you no time at all to get to the city. And the owner is super friendly and helpful as well, we had an amazing time there.

Situated in a nice quiet area close to Donegal town. Pet friendly with an enclosed area for safety. The place had character and was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The stove was set which made for a cosy and comfortable stay. We met with Conal and Anne who were lovely hosts. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return.

Great base for exploring all the beautiful scenic areas of Donegal. Very close to town. Great amenities in apartment, all you would need for a short or long stay.

This was the most fun place to stay in Ireland. Aside from being a few minutes outside of Donegal, which was a huge plus, this home has two soccer-loving pups. We could have stayed for hours playing with them. The home and room are very nice and comfortable. The full Irish breakfast excellent. Our hosts drove us into Donegal to The Reel Inn pub two nights and picked us up! The bedroom is in a small building apart from the main home, so we had complete privacy. It was very warm the two days we were here and our host provided a fan for the warm nights. This receives our highest recommendation.

Warm welcome with fire lit. Anne very accommodating. Good sized accommodation, comfortable bed and close to drive to Donegal.

A notre arrivée, un feu était allumé dans le poêle, ce qui créait une atmosphère très chaleureuse. Le logement est bien plus vaste que ce que les photos montrent. Il est très bien équipé. Au calme, ce sont les oiseaux qui nous réveillent le matin. Le logement est au calme et à proximité des grandes voies d'accès pour vadrouiller tout autour, dans le Donegal et ailleurs. Notre hôte était très accueillant, malgré notre arrivée tardive. Teddy et Cléo nous ont fait la fête et nous avons pu jouer au foot aussi :)

Our host Anne was very sweet and accomodating. There was a nice log fire when we arrived along with some biscuits and crisps as a welcome gift. The place is small and cozy and not too far away from Donegal town. Anne was very sweet and offered us a lift into town more than once. We had a wonderful time overall

The property had all the amenities and facilities we needed. From a lovely comfortable bed, to a cosy wee fire place. The hosts were fantastic and on hand all the hours of the day to help if needed and provide some recommendations of what to do and see. Would definitely use the accommodation again.

The apartment was just gorgeous and so homely and cosy 😊 our dogs loved it and it was very safe. I would highly recommend it and we would definitely go back.

When we arrived, the host had a fire burning away for us, which was absolutely lovely to come into from a cold day. There was so much thought into everything in the property, and the host was amazing from the very start.

Great hospitality

The lodging was clean, well-ordered, and felt like home. There were many home-like details, including fresh eggs & bread and all the soaps, shampoos, and cleaning products you might need. The hosts were helpful, friendly, and easy to talk with. We like this place and hope to visit again.

The hosts were lovely and went above and beyond to make our two-night stay comfortable. We were greeted with fresh eggs, butter, milk, Irish brown bread, Tayto crisps and biscuits. The apartment is separate from the main house (good for privacy) and well equipped with anything one could need, including a washing machine. When our washing didn't dry on the hanging rack outside by the next day, our lovely host Anne went above and beyond and dried AND folded our clothes for us. The location is only a few minutes drive from Donegal town but it's not easily walkable. Free parking is available right outside the apartment. Worthy to note that the hot water is on a timer so you'll need to plan showers 45-60 minutes ahead of time if you want hot water and keep your showers somewhat brief, but that was fine.

Nothing to complain about. The only suggestion is as others have said, perhaps consider labelling some of the switches (some are already labelled, but not most). For example, it took us a while to work out how to turn on the washing machine (there's a switch on the wall that is not labelled). Or perhaps put together a small "cheat sheet" with a few details/pics to help avoid confusion.

Al nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato la stufa accesa e in cucina uova, burro e latte. La proprietaria è stata molto gentile ed é venuta a salutarci. Inoltre, abbiamo dormito benissimo e nel silenzio più totale!

Il bagno é un po' piccolo, soprattutto il lavandino. Bisogna prestare attenzione all'accensione dell'acqua calda che é comandata da un interruttore a tempo e in cucina non c'è la lavastoviglie

It was the perfect relaxing spot and only a few minutes drive from town. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming with everything you could want in the accommodation it met all our expectations and more, we will without a doubt be back to breath taking Donegal 😊

The loft offers a relaxing, well-being atmosphere and an excellent base from which to explore all the beauties of Donegal county. We appreciated the discreet and caring presence of our hostess, Anne: kind attentions upon our arrival and a very efficient assistance when needed.

Unpredictable weather is (unfortunately) part of Ireland's identity. Obviously not related to the loft but probably explains the "Almost" :)

The host at another place I stayed at had an info sheet with the unique points of their place - the wifi/password, how to turn on/off the hot water, how the TV works, etc. It really helped having all of that info in one place.

Self catering, kitchen fully stocked with all required. Fresh eggs from the proprietor’s chickens enjoyed each morning. The property was full equipped for a very comfortable warm visit, all requirements were provided. Exceptionally well furnished and very clean. The log burner was much appreciated. Would highly recommend ‘Almost Heaven Cottage’ .

The only thing we didn’t like was that our visit wasn’t longer, but we propose to visit again.

Loved arriving to a lit fire after a long drive, very cosy and was the perfect little reset weekend we needed. The LEDs helped give the room a nice cosy touch, along with the Tayto, fresh eggs, butter & milk.

Could you use a big (illuminated) sign since it is a little out-of-the-way. Water takes some time to heat for a shower.

The hosts were extremely accommodating and hospitable. This included touches such as leaving milk, eggs and snacks available upon arrival and an explanation of how to use the fire etc. The hosts were also kind enough to go out of their way to drive me to places I needed to go so as I didn't need to pay for a taxi. They also made themselves available for any help I may have needed. The apartment itself is less than 5 minutes drive to town centre and appeared exactly as advertised Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be sure to come back

The property is beautifully presented and very snug. The host had the fire lit for us on our are arrival which was much appreciated as we arrived a lot later than expected ... and ... we were greated by angels. What more could you ask for :) Really enjoyed our stay.

We really liked how cozy the property was , it was very well set up and they had a lovely welcome basket there for us and fresh eggs for breakfast!! It’s the perfect place to bring your dog as they have a little fenced in garden so it’s very safe and comfortable

It was down a back road so we couldn’t walk into town but it was only a 3 minute drive away!

The location was fantastic, so close to everywhere. We were touched by our welcome pack. Milk, from their own chickens, bread and crisps and bars, were awaiting us on arrival. The accomodation is beautiful, so comfortable with everything you need for self catering. The hosts Anne and Conal were so welcoming. There is a patio area which lovely for an late evening drinks. Would highly recommend Almost Heaven and can't wait to return.

Cozy, well stocked house in quiet location.

For us it was perfect! One of the best places I have stayed in ever. The accommodation was very well equiped and Conal & Anne great hosts. When we left it was like saying goodbye to two friends. I can heartily recommend a visit here. Close to Donegal and Conal even drove us into town one evening, playing Taxi, so we could enjoy a drink and some irish music in the pub. What more can you ask for? Oh, and did I say 'dog friendly'? Even our dog "Sky" was made to feel welcome. Thanks Conal & Anne for your exceptional hosipitality. Neil, Irène & Sky.

The fact it did not reveal it was located at the back of someones house and said it was walking distance to the town which it deff wasnt which was disapointing as that was the whole reason i had booked it so i could walk my dog into town and maybe go for walk in the evening to the local pub which i wasnt able to do as it was too far away

Really cozy place with a fantastic host, who took care of all preparations before we arrived, even starting the fireplace!

It was very quiet and peaceful, yet in an excellent location, just a short drive to Donegal Town. The owner went out of her way to put me in touch with an historian of Inver Parish to help me with family research. The eggs, milk and bread were a lifesaver when we got in a bit too late and tired to consider going out to dinner.

It's not that I didn't like it, but it is worth noting your shower must be pretty quick so you don't run out of hot water.

Beautiful place outside Donegal Town, equipped with all you need. The wonderful hosts Anne and Conal try to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.

Such a clever use of space and the owners were so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make it nice. They had the fire on for when we arrived, they provided eggs from their chickens and bread, milk etc to mean we didn’t have to rush off to a shop. They even drove us down to a venue in Donegal for us to save us on a taxi! Really recommend.

This is the perfect location to stay for discovering the county and the town of Donegal. The house is very cozy and well equipped with everything we needed. Anne and Conal are excellent hosts and made us feeling warmly welcomed. Thanks also to the owners' hens which enriched our breakfasts with ultra-fresh bio eggs ;-).
