Paihia Coastal 2 Bedroom Cottages

It’s really good value for money, beds and sheets are comfortable, decor is tasteful.

There is no extractor fan in the bathroom so it gets very wet during showering. There was some mould on the inside of the window frames.

Location was spot on as we had a funeral to attend and accommodation was nearby to where we went. Surprised and thankful for the welcome gifts. Straight forward instruction to access the property. Communication was awesome as we decided to stay an extra night and the process to do so was quick and easy.

Shared driveway had to ask people to move their vehicle out of the way which they did and apologised for the inconvenience to us.

This holiday cottage was a great find. So well located, only 5 minutes from Paihia and close to the Haruru Falls and coastal walking track. The cottage itself was very well set up with a full kitchen, nice bathroom, spacious lounge and 2 bedrooms with very comfy beds. Nice touches like Nespresso machine with plenty of pods and even a block of chocolate in the fridge! Would highly recommend.

The water - think they need a filter on the taps as it smelled and tasted of dirt.

Noisy fridge, especially at night.

Perfect place for a 3 night stay to visit the historic landmarks in the area eg Waitangi Treaty grounds, Kerikeri and Russell. Kitchen well-equipped for meal making and the beds were comfortable.

There was no vacuum cleaner, broom or even a broom and dustpan which we needed for a 3 night stay with small children, despite being a very well-equipped cottage otherwise with a very good use of space and storage. The turn in and out of the driveway was a bit tight and on a hill!

We arrived on a hot day and the cottage was extremely hot inside. We had to put the air con on and go out again for an hour or so until it cooled down. It would have been helpful if the air con was put on a couple of hours before our scheduled arrival time. The second bedroom was very small for two kids and all their stuff but we managed.

Very cosy, bright & clean place to stay. The cottage had everything we needed and more (thanks for the chocolates and milk etc in the fridge as well as all the tea and coffee). The beds were so comfortable. It's only a few mins drive to Paihia & Woolworths, it's next door to a craft brewery and about 2km from the Haruru falls. The host communicated very well with us and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area. The cottage had a magnificent view and the area was lovely and quiet at night.

There is a very long narrow driveway to the cottage and i did find it a bit tricky backing out of the carpark into the narrow driveway due to the tight angle. The bathroom was a little dated but everything worked fine and it was lovely & clean.

Great location, easy to find. Check in and checkout was very easy. Great space, had everything we needed. Bed and bedding was very comfortable. We didn’t get to enjoy the deck or grill because of the weather but would have loved to. Very private.

Lovely stay at the cottages, which was equipped with everything that was needed. The location is also ideal and the instructions were very clear. Would highly recommend!

The rooms weren’t that well isolated, noise-wise.

The only issue was getting out of your car parking you had to go up to owners house to turn your car around.

Very well equipped unit - had everything that you could possibly need. Very clean and comfortable. Communication from host was really clear with all the information that we needed too. Easy drive down into Paihia.

Excellent facilities, well-appointed, very comfortable. It had everything we needed, and supplies of coffee pods, milk, chocolate and washing powder were particularly appreciated! And because we’re Brits, we were delighted there was a teapot!!

The whole house shook when the washing machine was in use. It woke people up from their sleep.

We found John super easy to communicate with throughout and access to the property was smooth. The cottage was well-appointed, clean, and gorgeous. John even left us a delicious chocolate treat, milk and bottled water. Highly recommend!

The hot water was turned off . We didn't notice till our last night . Maybe check Everytime before a guest checks in .

Well equipped kitchen although we didn't cook there so I can't comment on the oven. Private, no road noise. Bottled water in the fridge and a small milk and chocolate was a nice touch. Nicely decorated & modern. Very clean

Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Driveway has a lot of potholes. A few spare towels would have been handy, we had 1 towel each for a 3 night stay.

The cottage was beatiful and confortable for a family of 4. The kitchen is fully equiped and you will have anything you ll need for you stay. Nespresso machine available for a nice coffee experience in the house. The host was really clear with the instructions for the check-in/check-out.

Wifi signal was really poor and unstable. Was a bit difficult to watch a movie on Netflix on the TV provided and phones wifi signals as well. Was no a terrible problem for us. Maybe with a signal extension o relocation of the modem could be sorted and won´t be a problem for next guests.

Cottage was very clean, well decorated, beds were comfortable and the complementary bottles of water and chocolate in the fridge were a great surprise!

The cottage was lovely, it was very comfortable for 4 adults and had every convenience. It was close to any sight seeing places in the bay of islands.

Outstanding stay, great hosts and what a view! John and Susan, I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying at your property! Aside from the beautiful view, the level of detail put into ensuring your guests have everything they need is incredible! I felt like anytime we said, "oh, do we have this?" all we needed to do is open the drawer and there it was. The property is exceptionally clean, great amenities like laundry and BBQ and I have to add the decor is so well put together as well. Most definitely this is a place I will recommend and would want to come back to again! Thank you for the attention to detail (like having paper towel available) and the additional hospitality touches with the water and chocolates that was the cherry on top! Thank you!

Honestly, there wasn't anything we didn't like.

The host was lovely considering I locked the keys in 5 mins in the door ..nothing was too much trouble ...place was comfy and cosy and very clean...a touch out of town which made it lovely and peaceful with beautiful gardens...we are going back next year to stay longer

The tv didn’t appear to work however this wasn’t a great issue for us as we had iPads.

The driveway is a bit tricky, but we figured out how to back in and pull out after a few attempts.

On arrival, there was an overwhelming smell of air freshener in the room, which was difficult to ventilate due to the persistent rainy weather. The kitchenette's stove proved disappointingly weak - so much so that achieving proper heat for a simple stir-fry became impossible, significantly limiting cooking options. Additionally, given the rainy weather during our visit, we were hoping to use the balcony, but unfortunately, it lacked any form of covering. A small awning or some form of weather protection could greatly enhance the balcony's usability in various weather conditions.

Could not make television work

Clean and cozy in a nice location. Well stocked kitchen, pleasant to cook in. The weather was terrible while we there, torrential rain and wind so we didn't explore the area as much as we would have liked but the location is good for exploring Bay of Islands if the weather cooperates.

The tap water doesn't taste good. There were a few bottles for us in the fridge which was appreciated but had we known before hand we would have picked some up when we got groceries before checking in.

Great place to stay, you have neighbour's but because the houses are staggered you can't tell. Kitchen is well equipped which is great and loved having the coffee pods, yum. Thank you!

Location was good. Short drive to town. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed.

Location is great for those who have a car as it is only a 5-min drive into Paihia township. The cottage is cute and has enough space for a family of 4 - perfect for couple with two kids or teens. The house gets an all-day Sun and we love how quiet it was. The balcony was great for taking night photos of the sky and stars. Inside the cottage was clean and tidy, accompanied with clean towels and kitchen amenities are complete. there was a Nepresso machine which was a bonus.

We were there in Summer, so can be quite hot. There is air con in the living room but not in bedrooms. So, we had to leave the doors opened to allow air circulation. There weren't enough power plugs in the rooms, so extension cord/ power board is necessary. We found one in the house, but perhaps they need a couple more. I booked the accomodation about 6 weeks before stay - acknowledge it is peak summer holiday period, I still found it a bit pricey.

It was very comfortable, quiet and clean. It is about a 10 minute drive into Paihia but there is an excellent brewery/ restaurant which serves good bar food, about 10 minutes walk away.

We as older lady’s found the beds very hard and the single beds a bit lumpy, they could do with a good underlay but we managed.
