Tranquilo Boutique Hostel - Dahab

I had such a lovely experience staying here. This was my first time traveling solo and my first time staying in a hostel dorm, so I was a little hesitant and anxious at first, but I ended up enjoying the experience so much. The hostel has a really nice atmosphere, the place is beautiful and comfortable, and the people I met there made the experience even better. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and I ended up meeting so many great people. The owner was also very kind and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Dahab, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly and enjoyable hostel experience.

Tranquilo felt like home. It was always nice coming back after a day of activities in beautiful Dahab. The staff were amazing, always felt supported whenever I needed help and the room I stayed in was exactly what I needed - clean and cosy! Definitely coming back and definitely a place to stay when you’re in Dahab!

Everything, Great location, very clean, the staff were so lovely, the house was beautiful and the private roof top room was stunning! Better far better than many hotels I have stayed in. The decor was so beautiful it really was tranquil. Large private roof top terrace. It had everything needed for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was a traditional Egyptian breakfast which I love with plenty of choices. The lady that takes care of the hostel was so kind and very helpful and the owner was always quick to respond to questions. Made our stay in dahab so great we didn’t want to leave.

Great vibe. They regularly have movie nights, rock climbing etc. Breakfast seems like a great time to talk. Also very clean and well equipped.

Tout! L'accueil, on se sent tout de suite chez soi. La proximité de la plage et des services, tout se fait à pied. La propreté des lieux, le confort de la chambre, le petit-déjeuner, le thé à volonté et les discussions dans la cour arrière. J'ai adoré mon séjour à Tranquilo, n'hésitez pas!

I had an amazing stay at Tranquilo Hostel. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed. The owner took the time to give me a tour of the hostel, which immediately made me feel at home. The staff are incredibly kind, friendly, and always happy to help. The hostel itself is spotless, well organized, and has such a warm, homey atmosphere. I honestly had some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time during my stay. One of my favorite parts was the beautiful backyard. I found myself spending time there every day, whether it was relaxing or meeting other travelers. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and everything I needed was available at the hostel. They also made arranging activities around Dahab effortless, always pointing me in the right direction and helping with bookings whenever I needed it. This was my first solo trip, and Tranquilo played a big part in making it such a memorable experience. I met wonderful people, felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay, and truly felt at home. Whenever I return to Dahab, I won’t even consider staying anywhere else. Tranquilo will always be my first choice.

Stop looking and book your room here if you’re looking for a place that’s clean, good location and where perfect for resting after a long day having fun around Dahab. We had an excellent experience with the staff who was super helpful with giving recommendation of where to go to have fun around town and even to book day trips around the Dahad area. We came thinking that we would stay 8 days and ended up extending our stay to 21 days. I 100% recommend it and will be back when I travel to Dahab again.

the only thing I can think of is maybe that there’s only 1 shower which’s together with the toilet in each floor. but I didn’t have to wait too much for anyone.

Que la litera femenina se mueve toda cuando la persona que está arriba lo hace. Mi experiencia fue con una chica que presuntamente tenia un comportamiento de tener un problema de salud mental serio, con lo que al no poder dormir por sus constantes movimientos acabe durmiendo en el sofá del área común con un ataque de ansiedad. El gerente era conocedor del tema y no lo supo gestionar. Como tampoco lo hizo incumpliendo sus propias reglas y permitiendo las molestias por ruidos mas alla de la 1.00 am, siendo que a las 11 debería respetarse a los clientes.Mucho ruido con la apertura y cierre de puertas. Alejado del pueblo y la playa. El wifi no era tan estable. Yo voy a un hostel a dormir no para soportar a gente que no sabe lo que es ni respeto, ni educación y mucho menos compartir

Incredible place, that felt like a home away from home in central Dahab. Mohammed and the team were extremely welcoming when I arrived, with great communication and always on hand to help answer questions. The hostel is extremely clean, has a nice big garden out back, and all amenities you could want - a small kitchen, free water, diving books, key Arabic phrases... Mohammed has built a small, friendly and welcoming home and community that makes it feel more like a family than a cold hotel. Would definitely stay again

Very cool staff, helpful and lovely atmosphere. We had a private room in a nearby house which was big and confortable.

The breakfast wasn't really a breakfast - we were told it was the "American breakfast" day and really only had yogurt and bananas.

Every thing was just perfect, the moment I checked in from the main door, warm welcome staff, peroffedional and friendly staff, the owner is very descent and welcoming, loved all the details from welcoming to cleanliness fun games and gathering at the backyard, it exceeded my expectation and made my vacation very pleasant. Thank you so much would definitely visit again.

I really loved the atmosphere of the place, it was calm, cozy, and beautifully designed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. Everything felt clean and comfortable, which made the stay very enjoyable.

The owner MO was excellent with his hospitality, great location and facilities. Excellent chillout area to work, eat or read. Good for people who want a quiet location to chillout with other adults of the same mind set. The breakfast was good and authentic. Mo the cleaner was excellent and kept the place spotless.

A bit noisy first thing in the morning 7.30 am due to the washing machine being next to the dorm window! should be restricted washing times say after 10am when people are up and out off bed. There was also a "motor noise/tap noise" from the adjacent property in the room that was a bit disturbing. I guess you have to bare some of these problems when in another country!

This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. My booking was for one night, but later I extended it to 3 more nights because I was so happy with the hostel. The hostel owners/managers are serious about maintaining a very high standard at this place. It is not the largest hostel, but they have kept a very high level of cleanliness and orderliness. The vibes are cozy and welcoming, like all of Egypt. The location is within walking distance of the beachfront. The breakfast is decent. There are some good cafes and restaurants within 5 minutes walking.

From the minute I walked in I was welcomed like an old friend. Mo, the owner, showed me around and gave me a cup of tea. The hostel was so clean and in excellent condition. The dorm room was spacious , with a very comfy bed. Plug sockets and a shelf at every bed, lower bunks have curtains. The bathrooms were clean with hot water, plenty of hooks, and space. There’s a shared kitchen, indoor and outdoor seating areas. Mo also has plenty of events like bbqs to enable guests to socialise if they wish. I had the best time at Tranquilo and can’t wait to go back.

The staff is so sweet and helpful! Mo gave us good recommendations for kitesurfing and freediving, knew answers to all our questions and made us feel like home. The group hostel trip to the blue lagoon and Abu Galoum was the best!

Hey Tranquilo beautiful people!!! Long time. I always leave my reviews until deadline. VERY SAFE FOR WOMAN PLEASE GIRLS LETS WRITE IN OUR REVIEWS PLACES THAT ARE SAFE FOR WOMEN. NOT ONLY IN EGYPT BUT ALL OVER THE WORLD. VERY FRIENDLY WITH ORIENTAL AND PEOPLE FROM SOUTH SIDE OF THE GLOBE. Tranquilo is more of a house than a hostel. Tranquilo is owed by this very lovely couple ( i am soo very soorry for having forgotten yours names. it seems really rude, but it has already been three months... ). Well probably with a newborn baby now. <3 For me it didnt work because I live in hostels. And Tranquilo is not very well equipped if you want to stay long term. As I said it is a lovely place but is it a house, so in the summer the living room was a bit crowded because during the day the air in the room is off. Which happens in most hostels in Egypt. That is the main reason I left. And the lack of space in the kitchen. The owner she is lovely, abstolutely lovely. By experience, staying in a hostel where the female owner looks after the kitchen is a bit problematic. Not a deal if you're just for few days. It is small for summer, But now, there is a lovely garden, with very nice calm. Actually evening vibes in Tranquilo is really nice. They bring lovely Egyptian friends. lovely people. If you are here to dive and be outside I reallly recommed. For all nationalities. Some hostels are really racist against oriental people, and makes me very uncomfortable. Here we are all the same!! When I was there there was this very beautiful, young Egyptian lady as a volunteer. Full with live. We had her birthday, I got her a cake we had an amazing evening. However she and this other very lovely 19 years guest, got together and they were everywhere. It was like a house with children. It made me rwithout quiet space. But once again. That is something that was happening then. Nobody was being rude. Just two girls enjoying life.

IT IS JUST TO CARRY ON ABOVE. THERE IS NO MAJOR PROBLEM TO HAVE A WHOLE PARAGRAPH. As I mentioned really recommend. the localization doesnt seem the best. But once you are in Dahab if you want real bedouin Dahab, peace and quiet, best supermakets and real local restaurants this is the place to be. It is in the part of Dahab called Asalah, where is the real part, where locals live, buy and eat. So everything you ask in other parts of Dahab, you will be informed you will find it in Asala. Gluten free stuff in the supermarkets, lovely cafes. Best sharwarma. Well we all know that the best places are where the real locals are. And that is Asalah. And also there are more "european" style cafes. The bestestestestestest fish restaurants are there Miami and Daewich. Dont be silly and pay overpriced food in lighthouse. Lighthouse is the very touristic part of Dahab. The best snorkelling points is five minutes walking eels garden. And Dahab is a small city walking away distance from everywhere, full with bicycles to rent. Even renting bicycles its cheaper on this side than the other areas. As I mentioned, over there is real people. BTW the owner ( the guy ) He is an amazing photographer. He has a very relevant documentary project with sinai bedouins not publish, but worthy to stop and look at some pictures, and chat to him to learn about their way of living. It is not a must, but in Tranquilo we all end up living our shoes outside the main door. Which makes an ambiance much much cleaner. The lovely volunteer didnt clean once the floor of the common areas. And yet it was kind of clean. All those matters were addressed and being taking care of. LAST BUT NOT LEAST. IT IS NOT A DIVING CENTER. JUST HOSTEL. ONE SHOULD AVOID AT ALL COSTS HOSTELS THAT ARE ALSO DIVE CENTERS. THEY ARE MAINLY CATERED FOR THE PEOPLE PAYING FOR DIVING. 静かで清潔！ビーチやレストラン等からも500メートルほどで遠くありません。 朝食もエジプト風とシリアルのを交互にだしておられました。 水、紅茶は無料、コーヒー等他のものは有料で提供されていました。 スタッフも実直な感じで好感が持てました。アクティビティの提案がありました。 ダハブで3箇所に滞在しましたが、こちらが一番でした。空き具合から2泊しか出来なかったのがとても残念です。次もこちらを利用します。

洗濯機が壊れているとのことでした。 また、シャワールームでの洗濯は禁止でした。 水着等の濡れた衣類を干す外のスペースが少なかったです。（室内だと水滴で床が濡れてしまうため）

That's a small hostel, where everyone knows each other and it makes it easy to make friends. Clean, well organized, curtains on beds, many areas to socialise. There is a cat and a dog, who live outside. The work space is basically in the living room, but I never had problems while working there, because people were not loud. Internet is typical for Dahab, 8-20mbps. AC works fine, you have a remote control in the room. The dorms are spacious.

The breakfast was very light some days. Not many events are organised.

Paturile de sus nu au priza pentru telefon, veioza și o polița linga. Nu mi-a plăcut faptul ca mi s-a cerut sa plătesc aproape jumătate din prețul unei zile de cazare pentru citeva ore pe care ar fi trebuit sa le petrec în hostel dupa check-out.

Nice cosy hostel, open environment and very friendly staff. They helped me finding a kite teacher, arranged transport from and to the airport and provided great support when I broke my leg. Thanks Tranquilo🙏

Everything is perfect. The manager creates a clean and cozy environment every day. The bed is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is simple yet good. Cooking by yourself is also convenient. It’s a quiet place with just several rooms, so two shared bathrooms are totally acceptable. Nice people and nice place. Hope to come back someday.

Mo and Ziad (working in the hostel) were great hosts. They set a great atmosphere at Tranquilo. The breakfast is really good. The location is perfect (5 min walk from the beach - away from the noise).

The staff was incredible kind and helpful. They helped with local activities advice, food and even helped me arranged transportation. They listened to me and my partner needs and acted promptly to make our stay more comfortable. I'll definitely come back.

Be prepared for slow internet but this is for all Dahab. Plan ahead by downloading stuff you need in advance.

Easy check in, clean hostel.

At the second night I asked to book the same room but it wasn't available so I took a night in the dorm. I was alone there all the night, and the bed that was prepared for me was a bit shorter, cause I am a tall person. So in the middle of the night i moved to another empty bed. I was woken up by the worked Mo at 8am and he told me that I need to lay more 50% for this bed! And I was there completely alone! He also told me that I should lay for some chocolate thay I ate, and it wasn't truth. So I was a good beggining in the hostel, but with a very bitter end. Of course I paid the money. So in the end the night in dorm cost me the same as a private room.

The facility was good , price is reasonable and staffs were super friendly They have cute cat and everything here was amazing ! I highly recommend you to stay here in Dahab!
