Mango Tree Home Stay

I’ve stayed at many hotels, but I haven’t found a place quite as good as this one. It has a unique vibe. The room was designed unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere. The owner is wonderful. The town is right outside the hotel, making shopping very convenient. It feels just like home—a truly great place.

At first it seemed OK. Then I saw the huge mould patch eating the wall. There were black hairs on the pillow and sheet. The host touched me a number of times, on the arm and he escalated to approaching me in the dark as I stood outside my room, and began touching my face and head and asking me to go to his room. I told him No and went inside my room and locked the door. The next day he was not friendly anymore which was fine with me. On the 2nd night I heard some noise outside the room at 1am but I ignored it. When I woke up the next morning I discovered a puddle of human urine had appeared under my door and was drying on the tiles. I know by the smell and yellow colour. I immediately packed my bags and left. I handed the host cash for the 2 nights and left the building, 4 days early. He didn't say anything or look surprised. There are also loads of empty alcohol bottles around the place which might explain where the puddles came from. I have travelled solo in a lot of countries for many years now and I never had an issue like that host. His profile picture is him in a police uniform which makes the whole situation even more sinister. Don't believe the reviews you read on this page. Most are local single guys who for sure are not paying the same price as tourists and just leaving a review because the host asked them to. If you know what I mean. One other review is another male solo traveller complaining about the mould and the host responded denying that it was mould and that it was actually fresh cement work. So not only does he lie but he tries to make people seem stupid for having complaints about his awful guesthouse. If you are a tourist, especially a solo male, DO NOT GO TO THAT GUEST HOUSE. The guy should not be allowed to host anyone other than single local guys, he should just stick to that business model and take down his advertising for tourists.

No any incarcerate and free from disturbs. TV, WIFI and small kitchen to make tea is so good. Nice Bathroom.

Very slow and very little amount of data in the wifi.price is high for the facilities.also had to pay before even go inside unlike other guest inns.ants are everywhere in room.bed is not comfortable .not hot water.didnt have milk powder packets for a tea.flat tv is very small in size.

If they have mini refrigerator it is perfect.

I am really pleased with my stay at the Mango tree budget home stay as it is a very nice place , modern and with all the facilities needed. Room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Ruwan (Caretaker) was very friendly and helpful person. It was a great value for money and the service great!

The property was very good and i recommend it to others as well, This will be the place when i visit there next time. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place and the room were clean. The place is more comfortable than i expected. It exceded my expectation.

Pros Great location..access to all food and other facilities..value for money..Staff was freindly and helpfull.They have laundry service too..And can order food if needed.. Overall my stay for 20 days in this place was wonderfull..4/5 stars..

Cons Staircase..(that leading to this room) too tiny and wet when rains..too dangerous..and dificult to climb..

The only drawback is problems with the Internet; if you need unlimited Internet for work, it is better to discuss this issue in advance.

Exceptional stay, staff were very nice and accommodating. Room was very clean, spatious, comfortable and provided more than enough amenities.

No dislikes. If i were to stay to visit colombo, it is quite far out. But overall, if you need to stay far out near highway, I highly recommend.

Everything was there as they mentioned in the description and images. It is located a few steps from Homagama town but in a peaceful location. The room is good for both leisure and business purposes booking. (They have added facilities for both ). The staff is friendly. They don't have any awkward rules. The facilities they provided are fair enough for their rate. (Someone would say it is more than enough ). Recommended for any tourist. I didn't take any photos just because everything as they shown in the images.No any difference than images.

First this is not a complaint .Just an explanation .The room is located on the upper floor. And the staircase is a steel one. It's not a complaint or cons on this booking. I just mentioned for those who read this review before booking .by the way it was not a problem to me. Everything is perfect and was as they mentioned.
