We loved the view from the property out to the water. The kids loved watching the ferries.
There was no prior mention about the driveway being difficult. We booked it as a respite from our motorhome journey, and found it very difficult and stressful to drive up. The plastic cups had mould in them and there was a half drunk water bottle on the mantel when we arrived.
The place was absolutely wonderful — fantastic location, very clean, and everything was exactly as expected (or even better!). I would definitely stay here again.

WE LEFT WITHIN FIVE MINUTES! PROPERTY IS UNSAFE AND OWNERS REFUSE TO REPLY TO ANY COMMUNICATIONS. The driveway up to the property needs to come with a warning. It is extremely dangerous. We got stuck half way up, where there is a sharp turn and the ground is covered in moss and slippery. With long drops on the side of the driveway we had to get out of the car and walk back down to get someone to help us. The next half of the driveway was no better!! You would never be able to get up there in the dark or rain without putting yourself at risk! At the top, there are a set of slippery concrete steps to get up to the house. These are also very dangerous and need to come with a warning. It took a long time to get the lock box to open and the keys out, as it was very old and stuck and the owner did not answer for ages. When we FINALLY got in, the house was freezing! One small heat pump for the house, but there are no curtains and lots of windows so it wasn't going to warm up in any hurry. We were in town for a dance competition and was going to be coming and going regularly from the property but it was too dangerous to stay so we left straight away and was faced with finding somewhere else to stay two days before a long weekend. Nightmare situation! We told the owner straight away and they DID NOT even reply and are refusing to refund. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
Er was verteld dat de oprit heel stijl was. Maar dat was niet alleen het probleem. er zat een haarspeld bocht in wat onmogelijk te nemen is met een volgeladen busje. DIt moet echt vermeld worden in de beschrijving.
The Drive way was a challenge but we got used too it. The views we're stunning and the Sunsets, The birds in the surrounding tree we're so close and beautiful
Somthing beyond you're control I'm afraid we did have a little trouble with ants, so everything went in the fridge inc the cereal. 😄
Views were absolutely breathtaking! Images of property don’t do it justice - such a surreal experience staying here.
Views and beautiful home but the driveway was horrible
The driveway
The veiw was phenomenal, the beds were comfortable, the days we stayed were beautiful 😍 and the house had so much space, there were many places to chill and relax for everyone, I'd definitely recommend for a quiet abode with amazing veiws and the sweet sound of singing Tui and Pigeon on the doorstep.
It wasn't really a dislike, but the driveway is definitely steep and narrow, anything bigger and longer than a suv would definitely be a challenge to get up. Not for the faint hearted driver, Well worth the stay for sure.
Supberb view across to Wellington. Spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Very good kitchen facilities for cooking.
We felt the property may not be suitable for young children. For nervous drivers, the steep drive may be difficult.
Views are stunning. Comfortable and spacious.
Drive way up is a bit hairy and takes a little time to get used to.
Most amazing view, loved all the native birds
as everyone says, that one corner on the driveway.I had a large car so was a 3 point turn. But not a problem if you can drive. If you can't do it you shouldn't drive.
Loved everything beautiful views big bath spacious well equipped
Just the ants
Amazing views
Access not for elderly or children
The entire home was very comfortable. The views were to die for. We really enjoyed our stay.
The only thing we would mention is the steepness of the driveway. Particularly when it's raining. We had a front wheel drive van, and it struggled with the hairpin turn. We suggest taking everything you need to self-cater as we only went down and up once each day.
The outlook
Everything, the house and the views were amazing!!!
The driveway was horrendous especially in a 12 seater high top transit van however we managed to get up in the dark. It was worth it!
Beautiful place to stay with stunning views :)
Not really a complaint as such but if you had movement difficulties the stairs up to the property lets say they give you a good workout but the views were worth it and driveway was very steep and when wet we found we skidded on the corner with a bigger vehicle
The views were stunning. The space meant we all had room to ourselves and with each other. Great instructions for arrival. Not far from town.
The downstairs beds were quite hard. The driveway is very steep but worth it for the view.
The location is excellent, quiet and has a fantastic view
The final stair was steep and it takes to be in a good condition to lift up a 20 kilo trolley…
Beautiful views comfy beds clean and tidy.
Only comment is the towels were on the small side
We loved the view, the house itself was Amazing and would book again in the near future. amazing property 100%
Everything was Amazing but the only downfall was driving upwards because it’s so steep and the driveway towards the house was narrow but all in all it was still perfect.
We really enjoyed our stay, wonderful views, great facilities that catered the needs for our family, including kids.
The driveway was an interesting drive especially with a large vehicle and slippery when wet. We were unable to use the backyard with the kids as the lawns were not mowed and too many bees around, would of been nice for our kids to use especially for the length of time we were there, other than this we had a great stay.
Very accommodating.
beautiful home and beautiful views
driveway is steep but worth it
Quietness, private, view, birds, comfort, home away from home
Driveway, car was to big hahaha
Great location and views. very quiet and secluded. Master bedroom size of some houses.
Probably need some oneway film on the bathroom windows, upstairs looks straight at neighbours living room especially since the trees have been trimmed.
Incredible view
Everything was amazing especially for our first time in Wellington

Fantastic house with wonderful views. Good location for exploring Wellington.
The view was great.
The driveway was very dangerous and steep, so we had a family member drop us off before going out to eat. When we returned, it was dark, and our cousin, who was driving, couldn't get the car back up the steep and slippery hill. We had to stay back as the car was sliding. We ended up leaving the next day at 3 PM. Additionally, there was no hot water after three showers that lasted less than 10 minutes each.
The venue was spectacular and the property was truly amazing 10/10 from us.
The driveway up very steep and the stairs were a killer especially have a lot of items to take up to the house.
Great views lovely home
The drive way was so steep, three point turns to get around the tight corner.Passengers in the car walked up the steep drive as to scared to go in the car, stopped us going out as much as we would have liked.
It has beautiful views of bushes and the sea. The facilities were excellent and clean. It was like having our home away from home. It had all the amenities, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, and even laundry powder.
It was just a bit far from where we had to be.
Plenty of room inside and outside to relax with family.
If you have some older family members with you, the staircase from the driveway up the house could be a bit much for them. Just have the younger ones ready to carry all the bags. 👍
Was a lovely place to stay. Beautiful views of Wellington and ships coming and going. Very clean and comfortable
Location and layout of house - served all our requirements
Loved the view
Location, location, location
The property is a little tired and needs some basic maintenance and minor repair and renovation. Toilet holders and toilet seats falling off are not a good look and sloppy paint over water leaks are less than charming. Just half a day from a competent handyman would make a world of difference. Driving to the property can be a bit of a challenge and one zigzag in particular is quite a challenge and a dangerous proposition for an inexperienced driver with a relatively large vehicle. Otherwise, a very charming property.
The view was incredible the place was amazing the only downfall is the step road to the top but it is 100% worth it. Highly recommend it will 100% be going back to stay. I enjoyed watching the ferries every morning while sipping my cuppa. The kitchen is amazing and the bath wow it is big enough for two. But the view the birds and amazing house loved it.
Steep road upto it but its worth the drive up. Perfect otherwise I didnt like not staying longer but next time I will.
The views, lots of space, quiet aspect and location to the Hutt Valley.
Lack of information on arrival, steep driveway, minimal crockery and single cup coffee plunger.
the actual house was lovely however, very cold at night as no curtains. the steps leading up to the house were very very dangerous. The first lot had no rail to hold on to. no lights working down the bottom. steps were wet and slippery. Two of us had falls. We are in our 70’s. would not stay there again.
