Log Cabin By Skoddeberg Lake In Tjeldsund

This is the most quiet and peaceful place we have ever stayed in. The property was beautifully appointed with everything needed for our stay. It was extremely clean, bright, and the interior design was very appealing. The views across the lake and towards the mountains are incredible. The only thing better than the property was the incredibly welcoming host who even made us waffles and coffee on our arrival. This is a very special and magical place.If you are the right person, you can spend a few days in heaven as we did. A bonus was seeing a group of fox kits on our drive one day

The only complication with property is the lack of running water due to environmental restrictions. The owner provided several liters of fresh water in jugs which were sufficient for all our needs including showers for our 2 day stay. Water must be heated in a separate heater and poured into the shower and sink. Another consideration is that cars must be parked at the road and any baggage must be carried over a short trail to the house.

Ivar and Audhild´s cordiallity and hospitality reached far beyond our expectation. Their cozy cabin is a perfect place to escape and forget. Some may find the fact, that there is no running water in cabin bothering, but where else than in this beautiful country you can refill potable water in the lake. We did not mind at all to fill few barrels to keep the shower and coffee machine running. Also we found Norwegian invention of electrical toilet amazing. Cabin is spacious enough to host big family and its layout is perfect. It is equipped with all you need and very comfortably furnished with in a warm and cozy nordic style. Sofa in front of TV was great place to rest and drowse after hiking. The magnificence and tranquility of beatiful surrounding nature bring the peace to one´s mind and all the rush and worries of our daily life seem so distant and unreal. Especially when you see the moose in front of the porch in the morning. Yes, we really did. Thank you Ivar and Audhild.
