We always stay here when visiting family, so know exactly what we're getting. Room was adequate for a one night stay.

Unfortunately the bar and restaurant were closed due to a technical problem 😕

The bed was amazingly comfortable. Room was clean and spacious.

The room opened onto the pub garden, so at times there were noisy people sat directly outside our room. There was no food served at all at the pub during our stay. No breakfast or dinner. But there are plenty of places to eat in the surrounding area.

The pub, restaurant and beer garden were lovely.

The room! I understand it’s an old building, but the room sloped from front to back. The carpet was stained, the furniture was very shabby, there were no curtains and it was very warm.

Welcoming staff and neat and clean rooms, perfect accommodation for a wedding nearby. Just a shame we weren’t table to try out the pub as that looked lovely too.

No aircon which was a shame as it was the hottest day of the year so far but we had a fan in the car in case and it was fine with the window open - still good value for money

The room was reasonably tidy but bathroom was basic and looked very tired. Furnishing was pretty old and tired.

Stupid fire escape open? All Night! Felt unsafe in the room anybody and everybody trailing through the metal structure until 1.00am the noise was horrendous and our room by the door the suite! Number 4 don’t book it virtually no sleep all night party going elsewhere music until 3 am from the council estate at the back where the fire escape was. This should be closed and only used in the event of a fire! No option for breakfast chef had left. Was not advised prior to stay. Wootton Bassett was very run down the highlight was a nice Italian.

The location was great. The bar staff were very helpful on arrival and helped with parking. The hotel was clean and busy creating a good atmosphere. Instructions were given about checking out and the current dinner/breakfast situation. Outdoor space for our downstairs room was great as the room was so hot.

Could do better - limited dinner menu no breakfast offered, 1 room was up a external metal staircase which was fine for us but would have been difficult for young/old/infirm, rooms weren't near if it was a family situation again ok for us. More pillows needed, rooms were very hot although fans were provided. No parking provided but not mention of this when booking as far as I can remember. Couldn't pay via phone had to physically have my card luckily I had packed it!

3pm Check In and 10am Check Out. At least give an option to check in early and possibly change the 10am check out. That's the earliest I've seen in any accommodation in the UK.

They don’t have their own parking, and the restaurant is only open during very specific times, 6-8 I think. I’m often busy till late!

A nice room, fairly quiet location and reasonably priced. Parking outside was convenient and free between 6pm and 8am, and the room was very clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful!

Not much - only issue was that I hadn't realised that they don't do breakfast! Possibly my fault for not checking thoroughly, but worth mentioning in case someone else is expecting to order breakfast when they get there for the mext morning.

Location was good. Room nice.

No Breakfast available. Bar closed at 10pm due to lack of attendance midweek. No fans available. We were told that they had 25 for 28 rooms, 12 left due breakages and guests taking them. We did NOT have a fan on the hotest day of the year. The room window faced west so it heated up further before we went to bed. There public path that runs through the courtyard outside our room. There is no parking at the premesis but street parking is free for 2 hours and between 6pm and 8am.

Very good staff, helpful and the new manager was positive in making The Angel better than when previously stayed, very positive!

Lovely building in centre of town Room 3 was clean

Room in hotel was a bit shabby with loud noises from boiler in a cupboard next door which went off every time someone used hot water. Preventing relaxation and a good sleep. Mattress was uncomfortable and coat hooks broken. No entrance through hotel at night after it’s closed had to use fire escape . Fire escape not suitable for heels on shoes and metal walkway not good. Fire escape door rotten.

Easy to book in clean tidy room

Ideal location in the centre of RWB. Easy parking at the Sainsbury’s just behind the pub - free between 6pm and 8am. Very pleasant and helpful staff member at check-in. Room very clean and had just about everything I needed. I have stayed here numerous times and will do so again.

The bedroom was very warm and an electric fan would have been a welcome addition.

The rooms are separate from the pub which is lovely and beautiful flowers everywhere

Shame there’s not even a continental breakfast and the food in the pub finishes at 8pm

Very convenient location - not far from the M4 so a good stop over. Self contained accomodation. Very easy check in / out. Nice to have two armchairs in the room.

The room was unacceptable being very unclean and we couldn't stay there. The manager was very understanding and dealt with our problem in a very professionnel manner. If we could rate the manager (Paul) we would happily give home a rating of 5!

The room was very dirty, the bed was in a very bad state and the headboard was filthy from other guests greasy hair.

No fans available in the rooms on such a hot weekend. The room was small too which didn’t help. When leaving next morning no one was around at all so had to leave key in side and leave via back fire exit. Just feel someone should be there to ask if all was ok etc and take keys back

Room was spotless, excellent shower comfortable furnishings and all add ons like iron, hairdryer, tea/coffee and a fan.

Room was stiflingly hot in heatwave, despite opening deluxe skylight in bathroom and fan did little to help. In the morning, no-one around to offer breakfast so had to go elsewhere, not easy on Sunday. Also, I planned to have dinner Saturday but due to chef doing an event restaurant was closed. Not explained on booking or arrival so very annoying and as England match on all local eateries were full so options very limited. Royal WB is not as pretty as believed.

Lovely room with everything we needed. The Angel its self was lovely. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. We had a meal the evening we arrived and the food was absolutely delicious.

Nothing we didn’t like but the room could have been cleaned a bit better. The toilet had some brown staining in the bottom and the extractor fan was full of dust. Also a bit of black on the left side of the top of the bath and the side of the bath had quite a big crack in it.

It was relaxed and comfortable, good value for money and the room was spacious with a nice walk in wet room shower. The rooms were arranged around a central courtyard on 2 levels. It is a charming set up.

It was hot and we needed the window open..Unfortunately our room was next to a main road, but that was the only issue.

My room has a new shower room which I liked. Friendly staff and comfortable room. Great value. The food wasn’t fancy but it was tasty ( I enjoyed ham, egg and chips)

The bedroom is a bit cluttered but still comfortable. The bottle of water is very welcome but I suggest a bottle top.

As usual the staff were polite, helpful and cheerful.

The weather was extremely hot when we stayed, it would probably be a good idea for the hotel to provide a fan as there is no air conditioning. A very unpleasant night!

Only single room available when we arrived, although we had booked a King en-suite. Staff told us this frequently happens as Bookings.com assume room is for 1 person so smaller room is allocated. They say they have repeatedly informed Bookings.com but nothing is done about the flaws in the booking system. Rooms in the pub hadn't been cleaned from the night before, so they were unable to offer one of those. Staff found another room in an area that is adjacent to the rear patio that was noisy with drinkers. We viewed the room and took in the broken bath panel, fan loose on wall, wallpaper torn in places and decided not to stay. Receptionist was unsurprised and said this happens regularly. Room pictures are not accurate in terms of the present condition of the rooms (we viewed 2)and photos need updating. Maintenance needs addressing; this is definitely not a 4* establishment. Pub food on offer was sandwiches or a few basic options (apparently because of the heat), so we ate elsewhere in the high street and decided to complete our journey home without staying the night. Bookings.com need to address the issues with the room allocations to resolve this for other potential guests.

More attention to cleaning the room after Dog(s) have been in the room, it shouldn't just be cleaned the same way when only humans have stayed. We could definitely smell dog. Try Shake n Vac on the carpets ? Wonky toilet seat which I have mentioned on many occasions, but I've learned to live with it because nothing gets done. We did hear dog(s) barking at approx 9am.

Rooms need tlc. Mattress was dreadful - collapsed when sitting on it. Light bulbs not working. Broken bath panel. Bathroom fan hanging off the wall. Fan provided in room was welcome but was so noisy and was very intermittent

The room was exceptional value, spotless and comfortable and had everything we needed. We ate in the pub, the food was very good. The staff were really welcoming and helpful.

There is parking but it is restricted which wasn't made clear before our arrival. There was no plug socket near the mirror/no mirror near the socket, no where to sit and do make up or dry hair, minor issue.

Slightly strange entry and exit arrangements

This is our second visit to the hotel and we like it. This time we had a ground floor corner room outside. It was quiet at night, the bed was comfy. We had lunch and that was very nice. Although we couldn't eat in the evening due to having a large party and only having one chef, so we are across the road. The hotel looks beautiful from the front.

No parking at the hotel. Limited parking at the front of the hotel and only free after six o'clock, we had to keep moving the car.

We reported the toilet seat was broken on our first day and was told it would be reported to house keeping but it was never rectified. We were offered another room but declined as the room we had was one that had a smart TV, we thought we would get the toilet seat fixed as we were there all week. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

The room was excellent, with an extremely comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, great shower pressure, and an amazing bath. We both slept very well and it was one of the nicest rooms we stayed in during our trip. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we also had a very good dinner in the pub.

There was some confusion with our Booking.com reservation, as the property was only expecting one guest rather than one adult and one child. This meant our room allocation was changed on arrival and we ended up next to a 40th birthday party. It was noisy for a while, although everything settled down by around 11pm. There were also no staff available when we checked out, so we had to take our luggage out through the back of the pub and around to the front street.
