Quiet clean and friendly, good food although a little on the expensive side, good parking.
Room compact for the price. Had a problem with the bath plug both filling and emptying had to leave the water in, the staff said they would sort it after we left.
Nice staff, nice breakfast.
The restaurant food was amazing, breakfast was top notch and the evening meal was amazing
The bedroom curtains weren't blackout and a light shone in the room all night.
Great breakfast and friendly staff
Needs more windows to open
The location was very good the garden rooms were delightful and comfortable. The only disappointment was the temperature of the water - the anticipated relaxing soak wasn’t possible, either in the evening or the morning. Breakfast was excellent, all freshly cooked to order and generous, no tepid buffet and packaged cereal!
Just the tepid water!
Lovely comfortable rooms and great breakfast.
When we arrived there was no hot water. The young woman behind the bar tried her very best to sort it out, but it was obvious she had very little management support/back up, which was very challenging for her and us and meant there was no hot water for hours.
It was absolutely perfect for the two of us and our two small dogs. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. Access straight onto the courtyard was great for the dogs. A great breakfast and lovely friendly, helpful staff. The village and The George Inn are picture perfect.
Lovely comfortable room
Nothing
Good location
Lukewarm water in the morning resulting in cold showers
The quality of the cooked breakfast and Continental were both excellent. The room was very comfortable, particularly the twin washbasins LOvely village location and the food the night before was excellent
No breakfast cerals available, limited fruit juice and a lack of marmalade and jams. The waitress explained a problem with the stock.
Breakfast was good and the bed was comfortable
The shower was cold and there were cobwebs everywhere
Great location…lovely pub.. fabulous room and really quiet at night

Period property in beautiful location. Excellent staff, very welcoming. Good restaurant serving dinner and a hearty full English breakfast was included. After changing rooms we were extremely happy. First room was stunning but had no shower and the bathroom (bath without any shower head) was open in full view to the bedroom. Staff were very accommodating and moved us to an attic room which was superb.
Absolutely nothing. Only criticism with the new room was a bright blue light on what looked to be on the WiFi router directly above our head.
Like all of this place

Assolutamente tutto!
Lovely grounds with a kitchen garden
I thought I was going to stay in a room with roll top bath and more luxurious bedroom furniture, instead we were offered a very ordinary room with random hangers obviously left by previous customers - it wouldn’t take much for someone to quality assure this sort of stuff. My expectations were not managed . Also everything felt a bit mean about the breakfast. No dairy alternative unless you asked etc.
Location
Uncomfortable twin beds I had no duvet just a bedspread in a cover!
I loved Everything. The room, the staff, the breakfast. All exceptional. This place is an absolute gem and i'm going back twice in September which says it all.
Sehr freundliche Atmosphäre und sehr aufmerksames Personal. Sehr umfangreiches und gutes Frühstück bzw Abendessen.
Was amazing experience
This is an absolute gem of a find and we will definitely be back. Our room was beautifully appointed, spotless and very private. Staff were outstanding and so welcoming. Really well placed for exploring the local area and a decent space to relax. We ate in the pub and the food was so good. An absolute bargain IMO. We had a garden room and it was super peaceful.
I had an evening meal with one drink. When looking at my bill the following day I discovered that they charged me for 2 drinks. The rather tatty welcome pack in the room says that they will try to accommodate an earlier breakfast normally 8. I asked for 7:45 so that I could get to the office but was turned down saying we don't do that.
Location was perfect
Tired and needs a bit of a revamp. Not the hotel areas but the disabled access bedroom definitely
The main house
The rooms are a bit outdated
The room was amazing, really beautifully decorated and a great size. The bathroom was amazing. The area was really quiet and being above a bar, it closed at 8.00 pm so no problems at all. They stopped serving food at 4.00 pm on a Sunday and we arrived just before then, but they fed us and the chef put on a really lovely meal, which was really appreciated and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast the next day was really good too and included in the price.
Being such an old building, the floors were creaky and uneven and upstairs, the person above us seemed to be up and walking around on the squeaky floorboards at 4.00 am which disturbed us a bit.
2nd visit to this hotel, the hotel is exceptionally dog friendly. The room is set on a courtyard with table and chairs outside. We booked Sunday lunch which was really really good. Really enjoyed the breakfast too. The location is so relaxing and peaceful.
We went for a walk and the pub had shut at 8.30pm ( it was a Sunday) we didn't wish to drive anywhere else. That is the only negative.
Lovely friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and great location to reach all the local attractions
Unfortunately the curtains weren’t lined so the room was completely bright at 5am and woke me up.
Delicious food. Friendly service. Pretty spot and lovely walks. Charming garden and fun decor.
Fantastic breakfast Lovely rooms ..but very warm Very pretty courtyard gardens
Didn't like the fact the optional service charge was included on our restaurant bill and weren't made aware of this until we had paid.
Great location near, but sufficiently away from the main, expensive 'Cotswold Drag'. The George offered clean, comfortable, well equipped sleeping accommodation, and varied and pleasant outdoor seating and and internal dining spaces. As promised, the English breakfast (and the continental breakfast), were outstanding, as were the staff.
It was a pity that the evening meals did not match the rest of the experience. The prawn pil pil was oily and under-seasoned, although the prawns were well cooked. The same could not be said of our other two fish dishes, which were overcooked. This may have arisen because no one appeared to be running the pass at the kitchen, whose staff, consequently, seemed to lurch from one calamity to another. In view of the excellence of the breakfasts, perhaps this was 'just one of those days' which we all experience from time-to-time.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. They ensured that we were looked after during our stay. The room was immaculately clean and the breakfast was excellent. However, I do think a childs option for breakfast would be a good addition to the menu, such as cereal or pancakes. We also had our evening meal in the restaurant and it was amazing.
Absolutely nothing.
Comfortabel, fijne kamer en badkamer (wij hadden de zolder). Sfeervolle Inn.
Geen gezellig dorp (in de omgeving wel genoeg moois).
Staff were all great, the pub itself is lovely and the Sunday lunch was superb.
The mattress was so uncomfortable that myself and my wife were in angony by the morning and barely slept at all. The mattress was so thin. The breakfast was ok but toast was black on the underside and tasted burnt. Real shame as it started so well. Nothing a new mattress can't sort and a closer eye on the toast. The bed is such an important element of the stay though.
Everything was perfect with a peaceful location , beautiful spacious dog friendly room and the Inn itself with great food plus superb breakfast
Nothing
Lovely venue, great food and clean.
One criticism. I didn’t like the proximity of the dog waste bin. Too close to the outdoor tables.
Level access for wheelchair Proximity of rooms to restuarant and bar Great breakfast
Gorgeous setting, friendly staff, amazing fresh breakfast with local produce and great choice of breakfast options.
Nothing- only thing was it was very hot in the room.
How dog friendly the accommodation was and warm and welcoming the staff and locals were.
Nothing to dislike
Quiet location, amenities in room and clean and tidy
Walk in shower would have been preferred but over bath shower was adequate
Stumbled upon a little gem here. Great facilities lovely old pub, friendly staff. What more can anyone ask for. We will definitely be trying to find an excuse to come back
Super place to stay. Food great Staff always smiling and helpful. We will return

Beautiful location and building. Lovely dinner and breakfast options. Very friendly staff that could not do enough for you. Clean comfortable accommodation. Ample parking.
Quaint countryside pub with gorgeous room and lovely food!
Staff wonderful and welcoming Food exceptional - Evening meal and an absolutely amazing brekki! Lovely village location Decor lovely Quirky and tastefully done Love the bar toilet decoration!
Only one very small window that would open on an extremely hot night. To be fair, fans were placed in the room which helped but it was difficult to get to sleep because of the noise.
Breakfast was amazing, beautifully cooked and met my dietary requirements.
The food was amazing fabulous chef, a beautiful setting, tastefully decorated
Absolutely everything, the character of the whole building, the breakfast, the lovely caring staff, the location. Nothing was bad in the slightest.

Beautiful old pub in the heart of a pretty village with a decent bar and restaurant..
The pub is very isolated and a distance from nearest town. Our room needed a dressing table and a mirror which I would expect for the price we paid (over £200 per night).
They served one of the best full English breakfasts ever.
Struttura piacevole ,buon cibo e buona posizione per visitare i villaggi attorno
Letto matrimoniale
Beautifully decorated rooms with good facilities in them as well as the lavatories in the pub itself. Delicious food in the restaurant, though a little slow at times for the food to come out. We were warned about a lack of available staff so this is understandable. I appreciated all of the provided information in the rooms as well as the kitchen’s flexibility with regards breakfast choices.
Sadly our room had the wireless internet router above our bed which lit the room significantly at night with blue light which did impact our sleep to an extent. However, we didn’t hear any noise from the pub downstairs. The tea and coffee provided with breakfast were also unfortunately quite cold.
Mooie kamers , lekker ontbijt, rustig, ook zalig gedineerd.

The peaceful location, friendly staff and good food.
The shower wasn't working. Dogs in the restaurant!
Very remote and quiet. It was nice to get away there in a cosy pub and beautiful garden
Mattress was incredibly uncomfortable and gave me back issues. Lots of spiders inside the room too… as someone who has Arachnophobia, it wasn’t ideal
A lovely establishment with great bedrooms. The room we stayed in was better than we expected. Large and clean with a really comfortable bed and the bathroom is one of the largest we have ever used in any accommodation. The staff were all very helpful and the food and drinks were excellent. Breakfast each morning was excellent and cooked to order with great fresh ingredients.
No complaints

Restaurant and decor of room
Plumbing a bit poor in bathroom. Several loose fittings including bath overflow
Lovely pub in rural location, full of character. Our room on top floor was superb. Great breakfast, very friendly staff.
Beautiful comfortable unique place to stay.

The room , food and staff were amazing.
Quaint country inn. Staff were pleasant. Room nicely decorated.
Cost and quality of evening meal and drinks. Insufficient staff in the evening and again at breakfast. Had to request basics - spoon for granola and jam for toast. Single shared teapot empty at self-service table. Long wait for husband’s breakfast as egg included, despite sharing that he had an egg allergy, and had to be re-done. Room was like a sauna and badly in need of aircon. Impossible to sleep for long and we had a long drive ahead 😏
The room and room and garden
The very expensive wines which were nothing special

It’s remote location in a wonderful village, very picturesque. The food was first class, the best steak I’ve enjoyed in a long time.

Excellent location. Great Inn and pleasant facilities both internally and externally.. Great rooms in the courtyard area and impressive vegy gardens to admire. Superb breakfast selection with quality produce Must have been value for money as we visited The George for a further night.
Booking more dates as was very popular.
Friendly host . Great breakfast. Lovely beer garden . Size of room
Had a room without a shower only a bath . Would’ve preferred both .
Ideal location to visit our son in Banbury.

Portable fan was useless on a hot sticky night. Otherwise all very good. Food was excellent.
As described, great wet room with alarms.

The breakfast was absolutely beautiful, staff we're really good made to feel very welcome, would stay again and would certainly recommend to anyone!
There was nothing we didn't like, fantastic weekend away and this stay was a big part of it.
The room was lovely and the Inn itself was very good. The food was very good.
Lack of staff, had to keep asking for things ie teaspoon, sugar and wasn't ask if we needed anything else with our dinner-breakfast. There was never anyone to ask. Then being charged £15.10 for a white wine and lemonade and 12.5% service charge. I didn't get to see the bill as my partner paid and I only saw it when we got home.
Room was fantastic (duluxe double above the pub). Huge bathroom and room, really well decorated and appointed. Lovely quiet village. Staff friendly and breakfast was really nicely presented and with a good offering. The evening meal menu looked great too - shame we didn't have a chance to try it. Would definitely recommend.
It was the hottest day of the year and there were no fans for the bedrooms, cue a very hot night. Would suggest getting a few in for these scenarios. My wife also suggests a mirror in the bedroom on the dresser, not just over the sinks in the bathroom.
Pretty little local pub

Lovely room and The George is in a beautifullocation with easy access to Cotswolds locations. Friendly helpful staff and good amenities.
Quaint and comfortable, a cute little English pub/inn..
It was extremely and unusually hot, and they were not able to provide adequate cooling.. not really the fault of the inn, however - it made sleeping there hard as it was so hot.
Tucked away in a beautiful and peaceful location, The George is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout, with a stunning floral garden that creates a calm and tranquil atmosphere. There is also ample parking, which is always a bonus. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and finished to a very high standard. We stayed in a Deluxe Double Room with patio overlooking the garden, which was a lovely touch. The patio was well lit in the evening, allowing us to sit outside and enjoy a bottle of wine while taking in the surroundings. We enjoyed dinner of delicious fish and chips and a tasty chicken breast dish, followed by equally enjoyable desserts. The bathroom was generously sized and offered both a bath and a powerful shower. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and efficient throughout our stay, helping to make the experience even more enjoyable.
The toilet seat was loose, which staff may not be aware of. It was also a shame that the bar closed slightly earlier than expected on such a lovely warm evening. Appreciate though the weather was extremely hot making for uncomfortable working conditions. At breakfast, my continental option included a badly burnt croissant that was unfortunately inedible. Although an apology was offered, I wasn't offered a replacement. As someone who struggles with grip strength, I also found the teapot very heavy and too hot to lift comfortably, with both hands. Another guest appeared to experience the same difficulty. From a health and safety perspective, it may be worth considering lighter teapots. A few teaspoons on the tables would also have been helpful for stirring drinks. These were relatively minor issues and could be easily addressed
Friendly staff, nice breakfast, comfortable, lovely position,
Armchair in room was disgusting, all very visible stains, dirty, unhygienic, it was all hidden with a throw over the top, floors need good wash, wooden floor, the bottom of your feet, socks turned black, disappointed, let the George down. One small window to open not enough, room got stuffy.
Mixture of old and new beautiful building nice dining areas inside and out.
Nothing
Staff were very friendly. Plenty of parking near to room. Room good size.
We stayed during a hot spell and a fan would have made the room more comfortable. Shower was ‘over bath’. Efficient flow but bath was slippery and there was nowhere to grab to steady oneself - felt at danger of slipping. Lock to room was very stiff, couldn’t get handle up to enable lock. However it felt a safe environment so wasn’t too worried. Ate at the restaurant in the evening. Staff very welcoming but needed more training in what was available. Home made pies are good.
Traditional pub with excellent food. Great if you have a dog
Comfortable room.
Poor breakfast. Cold coffee, no decaf, staff too busy to Help. Taps and toilet leaked in bathroom.
Lovely location friendly staff and good food
We loved everything it was beautiful the staff were really friendly and lovely and our room was so nice
I loved everything
Great location, modern rooms, friendly staff and great food for evening meal & breakfast.
Lovely old property
Room wasn’t very clean
Quiet location in a beautiful little village
Nothing
Breakfast had to be pre-ordered. Orders were from a selection of dishes. I ordered scrambled egg and smoked salmon. It came with one slice of toast. The egg and the toast were both cold. The scrambled egg was overcooked and hard. There was no breakfast bar, so you could not have anything extra like more toast or a croissant or fruit .
The food in the restaurant was disappointing and the service was extremely slow. The bathroom could do with an update. Taps difficult to turn off. Dripped very badly.
Beautiful location and lovely rooms. Full English was lovely
The only disappointments were on arrival the young lady serving us could smile more and be a bit more happy to accept guests, the bed pillows were hollow fibre and disappointing for that star grade property and the presentation of the tea and coffee at breakfast as it wasn’t a table service offer and what was on the table was just a teapot which would serve two people max when there were 14 of us in the restaurant. No butter or condiments with or offered with the breakfast so had to ask and wait but did kindly receive. Other than that it was a lovely stay
Breakfast was superb. Peacefulness
We have visited and stayed at the George Inn for many years, and are very fond of it. The welcome was as warm as ever and the food both at lunch and breakfast very good. My room was clean and the bed very comfortable.
When I have stayed previously I have usually stayed in the outside garden rooms - which are fabulous. This time I was in a room inside the pub and had a less positive experience. The room was very spacious, quaint to look at and clean - but there was no en suite shower room. Instead there was a claw tooth bath on a platform in the room and the toilet was just behind the bath. This felt very exposed particularly because the bedroom window looked out over the road through the village - so you had to keep closing the curtains. There was no handheld shower attachment in the bath so the only way to wash your hair was by ducking under in the bath. The bath was ridiculously slow to fill and there was a very hot tap and a warm tap - no cold water.

The rooms & the food were outstanding
I couldn’t stay longer
A pleasant place to stay for one or two nights and a good choice of local beers.
Not a overly large lunch and dinner choice and breakfast choice also limited to simple hot or cold and juice with no options on cereal or fruit and yoghurts etc for starters.
