Bridge of Orchy Hotel

We were travelling with our 2 dogs and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. A true dog friendly establishment. Also, the food was very good and the room service option was a 5* touch Brilliant location.

Hotel was convenient and on the main route through to Skye. Nice location beside the river and the room was pleasant

Feel that the hotel , because of its situation ,should invest in their own EV chargers -they sent us to the community hall but the one charger did not work !! The accommodation was very expensive and the continental breakfast choice s were poor -little fresh fruit, no nuts or healthy options !!

The location cannot be beat right on the WHW. Room was comfortable and modern but a bit small. Restaurant and bar both excellent.

de aankleding, de hartelijkheid, de authenticiteit, het ontbijt. Ik had om een tweepersoonsbed gevraagd omdat we met ons dochtertje reisden. Met twee enkele bedden lukt dat niet. Toen ik terugliep om te zeggen dat dat niet was wat we hadden gereserveerd zei ze ja je hebt zo laat gereserveerd dat kon ik niet meer regelen. Toen ik zei dat ze het dan ook niet moet aanbieden mokte ze wat en kregen we een andere kamer. Het was verder goed. Ik had alleen voor de prijs en de reviews er veel meer van verwacht.

The attitude from the restaurant manager as we had walked in and explained we were looking for dinner he physically tried to stop me and my partner from walking forward and his tone and manner when we explained we were residents was appalling he made us feel very unwelcome not what you expect for a hotel that charges £300 for 1 night especially the last thing you need when you have just walked 30k of the whw and looking at relax and enjoy a meal.

Great place to stay. Staff was friendly location was great.

Room was quite small.

Great location, park like grounds and steps away from the bridge. I stayed in one of the newer rooms and about as far from the main house as any room and wifi was good. Room was decent size with mini fridge, comfortable bed and quiet.Bar and restaurant and breakfast.

We had an annex room with our own entrance and small hallway where we could leave muddy walking boots and wet jackets. There was a terrace to the garden, too. The room was a bit small, but sufficient. Breakfast was included, and what a breakfast! We were staying for our walking holiday, and their full Scottish breakfast gave us more than enough to walk miles without lunch. They do provide a packed lunch by request. They have nice bar and restaurant. Since there is no other restaurant in the village, we dined at their restaurant for two nights. Food and wine were both excellent. It was our 40th wedding anniversary. Two glasses of bubbles with a raspberry arrived when we sat at the table. Helping us celebrate the ‘ruby’ anniversary? Lovely touch!

We arrived to find the room did not have functioning facilities

Food was 1st class, bed was very comfy staff were friendly and attentive but not overwhelming. Rooms were clean as were the public areas. Stayed for two nights and would come again.

The weather but that was not down to the hotel. Even in the middle of August you can get a lot of rain.

Es ist die einzige Übernachtungsmöglichkeit auf dem Westhighlandway in diesem Bereich, wenn man nicht zeltet.

In dieser Unterkunft sind Hunde nicht erwüscht. Sie dienen lediglich dazu über eine angeblich notwendige Umbuchung auf ein anderes Zimmer Geld abzuziehen. Wir wurden auf die billigste Zimmerkategorie umgebucht, damit der Hund mitdarf und mussten einen hohen Aufpreis zahlen, da vorgegeben wurde, dies wäre eine teurere Zimmerkategorie. Zusätzlich wurden noch hohe Gebüren für den Hund bezahlt und beim Frühstück wurden wir fast rausgeschmissen und uns vorgewurfen wir würden gar nicht im Hotel wohnen. Hunde wären im Hotel grundsätzlich nicht erlaubt. Die Angabe Haustiere erlaubt muss unbedingt gestrichen werden. Der Service sonst auch unfreundlich, abweisend und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt gar nicht.

Shower was very hit & miss for consistent hot water. Noise in the morning from the kitchen extractor. Some staff need training in the dining room.

Clean, the only accomodation in this area of WHW when you want to do it in 5 days. 😅

The Bridge of Orchy Hotel is a magical location with breathtaking grounds—it feels like a fairy tale. Spouse and I hiked in from the WHW, and the room and restaurant were luxurious treats. Delicious food and drink, and the room was clean and posh. The hotel definitely feels like a treat after a long hike, and the packed lunches were also nice to take with us for the next day's hike. We ended up having four meals here, and they were all delightful and delicious. Cozy, comfortable, and definitely worth coming back to in future years.

We were there during a summer heat wave, so the room was initially super steamy, and the fan provided didn't do much. However, getting a crosswind going between an opened window on one side and propping open the door on the other side helped to cool things down a bit more. We had to close the door once the midges came out for the evening, but the room at cooled considerably by then. No real complaints, although a more efficient fan would have been welcome.

No drying room, which is very unfortunate given the location Restaurant has ambitious chef, but the food is only okay-ish Beds are too short for modern hotel. Guest of 1,85 meter did not fit in the bed

Good stop on the west highland way. Nice food for dinner and breakfast, and clean modern rooms. We were lucky and enjoyed a warm, sunny and midge free evening on the deck by the river.

The Staff are an absolute credit to this hotel, nothing was too much trouble and very welcoming, our room had a bath which was such a welcome sight after day 3 of the WHW.

The hotel is in a truly beautiful location with stunning surroundings, which was definitely the main highlight of the stay. However, it is quite expensive for what you get. As for the rest, it’s reasonably well-equipped and has the basics covered. The room was clean and decently maintained. Niki did a great job keeping things running smoothly and looking after us.

Although the beautiful surroundings and Niki's good service made up for a lot, the hotel was quite expensive.

Near to the bridge of orchy. We booked the room facing the river and it was lovely.was able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. Breakfast was good.

The bar was closed on the day that world cup match between scotland and brazil which was disappointing. For the price of the room, id expected at least bathrobes and bedroom slippers. We couldnt open the window during the heatwave and the fan made noises during the night.

this is a hidden gem of West Highland way. absolutely fabulous accomodation, everything spotless clean, food fantastic, breakfast as well, very comfortable and just on the trail. this applies for the annex, which is newly built and very modern

Prompt response by staff to an issue with the electric system in our annex accommodation, which was resolved immediately to our satisfaction. Excellent food and drink provided and helpful staff throughout the stay. Very good public transport links.

It was like a cabin in a trailer camp

Location was OK as we knew the place from passing. Food was good in restaurant. Ambience in main building OK and general staff attitude was pleasant.

There was little car parking we had to park on verge of public road. We had to walk in the rain to our cabin/chalet. Main Hotel taken over by hikers and bikers or tour groups. Crowded and noisy. Restaurant seating poor. Restaurant understaffed so food took time to arrive. We don't mean Fast food but just timely service. The cabins were grouped like a Holiday park or WW1 PoW camp. We knew we would be in the grounds, we had booked a garden view but not like this as a terrace of chalets like Butlins. The word 'Cabin' or Chalet implies detached which they definitely were not. If we had had more daylight we may have declined to stay but after a 300 miles drive we just wanted to rest and there was little else in the immediate area.

Bar staff was friendly and food good. Room was clean and in close proximity of West Highland Way.

My room had a loose/broken door handle on door next to sliding glass door(patio door , which made it difficult for the door to completely catch and lock, which made it a safety issue (personal safety for solo female traveler and/or inability to secure valuables), when I brought this to the attention of the check in person at the front desk, the front desk person condescendingly/rudely told me we are fully booked what do you want me to do about it. No maintenance check was offered.

Por el precio que pagué esperaba algo mejor, el hotel carece de los servicios que necesité, las vistas desde la habitación (frente al río) tampoco eran increibles ya que solo se veian los arboles delante y realmente no veías el puente o el río, para desayunar solo puedes elegir una opción (tipo de tostada/huevos) y está lleno de gente por lo que puede que tengas que esperar. El hotel en sí es la única oferta de hosteleria en una zona que es para obligada para muchos senderistas, por lo que el restaurante también estará lleno de gente. Creo que el precio es elevado y que en cierta forma abusan de ser la ser única opción de alojamiento en la zona (a excepción de un hostal). No repetiría.

Mein Zimmer hatte einen direkten Ausblick zur Bridge of orchy und war sehr ruhig gelegen. Das Personal im Restaurant war sehr schnell, sehr freundlich und hat alle Wünsche von den Augen abgelesen.

In der Dusche waren Verschmutzungen und der Abfluss war dreckig. Bei so einem Zimmerpreis darf das nicht passieren

Die Lage des Zimmers direkt sm Flußufer (mit Mückenschitzfenster👍🏻!), die durchdachte Aufteilung des Raumes mit eigenem drying-room-Bereich sowie die moderne Ausstattung haben den Aufenthalt für uns zu einem komfortablen Erlebnis während unserer WHW-Wanderung gemacht. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist für schottische Hotelverhältnisse entlang des WHW gerade noch gewahrt.

When we ask a member of stall twice for the desert menu,he was very rude .

Mixed feelings about this stay. In general, most of the things were okay, but there were a few downsides during my stay here. What stood out positively is the staff at the restaurant/bar. The food quality was good to very good. Staff was trying to make sure, everything was as good as possible.

What was lacking there, was a bit of proper organization/management. What was annoying considering the price is that the quality of the stay wasn't really matching that. The room, while being cozy, wasn't clean to the level I'd expect from an around £350 stay. Heating was unfortunately not working, too. At the other hand, amenities were placed very properly. So all in all, it has some positive tendencies but is confusingly disappointing regarding the price.

Poor WiFi, room above the kitchen (invest in slow closing door device on the cupboards), dustbins at the rear clanged, dated and clearly pandering to the plentiful American tourists.

Great location for hiking to West Highland way. The staff and food are fantastic.

The rooms are way over priced but as there are limited alternatives in the area they are clearly taking advantage of this but you can’t fault them for that.

Didnt like the 'welcome' - sour reception staff, curt and unhelpful Interactions with most of the staff were very hurried and you had to follow them or ask for things that should be provided, nobody approached to see if they could help, direct or serve you. I stayed in room 2 and the bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy and thats the worst and most uncomfortable nights sleep ive had on the whw journey and the most expensive stay on the route. Definately Room 2 not worth £367 per night. Room tired, decor finish not great for 4 star hotel Towels clean but tatty around the edges Tea tray wasnt great - room for 2 people and only 1 caramel log and no ordinary coffee in room, only decaff and 4 uht milks At checkout we werent even asked if we had enjoyed our stay or had slept well - again a curt interaction with no pleasantries. There was no point in complaining as i fear it would have fallen on deaf ears. Simply wont stay there again!! Breakfast, the eggs were hard in eggs benedict with very little hollandaise
