Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Driving from Cape Town to La Ford is a long drive. Once you on the farm all tiredness disappear. It is truly lovely and calm on the farm. You can even stroll to the dam and enjoy the macnificent sunset.

The farm is absolutely beautiful, and the accommodation was so cozy, especially for a cold mid winter night in the Karoo. The communication for Chelhette was fantastic and it felt like absolutely nothing was missing. The opportunity to braai or get freshly cooked meals as well as the honesty fridge were also really appreciated, especially after the long drive
The only things I can criticize were that the water pressure was a bit inconsistent and that I couldn't get the air fryer to do what I wanted, but that's probably a user error :)

Reviewed Apr 24, 2026The dinner we had was outstanding, the best steak we've had ... in forever. The cottage is beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail. Everything we needed was there. The garden, dam and surroundings, stunning. The hosts could not have been more accommodating. A super stay over on the way to the Cape.

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026The location is incredible, a drive through corn fields eventually gets you to your space. You will not find anywhere to eat out here, so do take Chelhette's offer of food to purchase. She has a great menu of items to braai, plus other delicious bakes, and puddings. It really was one of our best meals on our roadtrip to Jozi. Everything was super comfortable. Thanks Chelhette for a lovely stay.

Reviewed Jan 15, 2026The bedroom was so clean with modern, beautiful decor. I had a very restful sleep as the bed was comfortable. I had more than sufficient resources as the facility provided ample towels, soap, shampoo, tea, etc. The view from my bedroom is spectacular, and I particularly enjoyed the sunset from my porch. I felt very safe at the location, while the area was extremely peaceful and quiet. The staff and host were very friendly and accommodating.

Reviewed Jan 13, 2026Beautiful, peaceful farm accommodation; very helpful and friendly hosts; beautiful, stylish rooms and facilities with everything you could possibly need; the most comfortable bed; and a little private garden with a view to relax in. Our hosts provided meat and salad for a braai (BBQ) and even lit the fore for us prior to arrival (a our request). The fridge was stocked with drinks. An excellent way to break a long journey.

Cottage was very clean, spacious, bed was very comfortable and offered everything one needs for self-catering. Even some spices were on hand. We decided to braai (bbq) and bought the meat from La Ford... OMW! It was outstanding 👌🏽 highly recommended. Thank you for making us feel welcomed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stop over.
This may seem petty, but considering the overall finishes of the cottage and property in general, the toilet seat was a cheap, flimsy plastic seat. I would recommend considering installing a nice soft close seat

Reviewed Oct 6, 2025It is clearly a new venue and there needs to be better sound proofing between the two rooms. The couple next door were loud and we could hear them cleary. from 05h00 in the morning, which isn't ideal. Not entirely the venue's fault as the others could have been more respectful of the other guests. They need to install a blind on the bathroom window to stop the outside security light shining on to the bed directly where the pillows are. The meal was out of this world that we had for dinner. Superb. A gorgeous setting with the dam, the wheat fields with amazing sunset and sunrise! We will stay there again!

I loved the sunset with guineafowl chirping away in the background and felt secure and safe during my stay, although it was only for 1 night.

Insect screens in all windows and a screen door. There is a nice sized fridge/freezer, a microwave and braai facilities. Finally a self catering place with sharp knives! 🥳😁 Our host was very welcoming and responsive. We will stay here again.

The room extremely comfortable and as described. We had our own little patch of garden and could sit out and watch the beautiful Karoo sunset. It was gorgeous.
