Reviewed Sep 19, 2026The apartment was spotless, very well equipped, in a very scenic and quiet area. The owner was very helpful with regards to places to see and how to get to them in the area... Although we went to a local town to eat, we came back to the pub downstairs which was also very nice. Would recommend it to anyone coming to this area.
It's not so much "a didn't like".. but just a polite suggestion. Maybe just to have a few teabags/coffee sachets and milk hi

Reviewed Jul 10, 2026Lovely cosy apartment, plenty of space and everything you need for a great stay. We stayed midweek and it was wonderfully quiet and safe.
Nothing not to like! Couple of nice extras would be a little bit of milk and a few tea bags. Also due to the heatwave a fan would be a good addition. Would be really nice to add a bit of info on their own bar menu and other local places to eat.

Although the apartment was superb there were a couple of wee niggles. There was no toiletries e.g. shower gel shampoo and conditioner even though on booking.com said toiletries were provided. Also it would help if there were a couple of shelves in bathroom to set stuff. There was a balcony but no access to it. The TV totally baffled us we could not get normal channels on it I.e bbc etc. Other than that beautiful apartment.

Reviewed Jun 16, 2026Fabulous apartment. Very clean and spacious. Nicole was very accommodating and allowed us check in early due to a funeral. There is a balcony off the kitchen with excellent views of Tullagh bay which was 5mins away.

Reviewed Jun 7, 2026This place is phenomenal. Everything is so well done. The staff in the restaurant below the apartment are really exceptional. The apartment suites perfectly for who are travelling with kids. The view is fantastic. We will definitely come back.

Unfortunately the excellent restaurant in the pub was closed on the one night we were there which was a shame as it was part of the reason we booked there - not a major issue as Ballyliffin has 3 or 4 good places to eat

Reviewed Apr 6, 2026Loved this apartment. Soo cosy yet spacious. Facilities were excellent. Very clean. It was like home away from.home. Will definitely book again.
We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night so there was live music downstairs in the bar, it honestly didn't bother us in the slightest but maybe an older couple or people with a young family might find it a bit noisy on those nights.

Reviewed Jan 15, 2026Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Great location for touring Northern Donegal. Although located above the pub/ restaurant, the property was quiet. Amazing views from kitchen/ living room. We had a lovely meal in the pub - it was delicious, cooked a special vegan dish for me and surprised my father by singing happy birthday - we made fantastic memories during our stay at the Rusty Nail - thank you to Nicole, Shane and all the staff.
No complaints whatsover, this is an immaculate, well equipped apartment in a stunning location.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2025The location was great. We went to visit family and it was so convenient. The food in the restaurant was really good. Staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. Had everything we needed.
Could use smaller bath towels and a bath mat also somewhere to put your toiletries in the bathroom (like a little shelf or something.) These are just suggestions but it wasn’t really a big issue. The place was clean and the water was hot😄

Reviewed Aug 18, 2024Very spacious, modern, self-catering apartment with beautiful grey and white decor within. Place was spotless. Lovely exterior seating out the back if only we had the weather to injoy this. Great location too. There is also bar and restaurant located next door which is buzzing and great entertainment at weekends. We treated ourselves to breakfast, and the kids had pancakes on the morning of departure which we really injoyed.

It was within walking distance of the beach, albeit the roads a narrow, and only a three minute drive from it. The apartment was more than spacious and was extremely well equipped. The balcony was a major plus as was the dishwasher, washing machine and unlimited hot water. For me as the driver it was great as I appreciated the apartment's location above a pub. The pub also served lovely food. The pub was not noisy as some pubs are and you couldn't really hear it when in the apartment.
There is nothing I didn't like, I just has a great time staying there.
