Reviewed Sep 7, 2026Die Jugendherberge liegt in sehr ruhiger, aber auch zentraler Lage für alle Fahrradfahrer/-innen, die den Ciclovia Alpe-Adria Radweg machen wollen, da sie direkt an der Strecke liegt. Fahrräder können in der Tiefgarage geparkt, E-Bikes dort auch aufgeladen werden. Wir hatten ein schönes Drei-Bett-Zimmer mit riesigem Schreibtisch sowie ein eigenes Bad und eine eigene Toilette. Check-in und Check-out gingen super schnell und unkompliziert vonstatten.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026This was the second time we’d stayed here during our Alps-Adriatic cycle tour, and just like four years ago, we were very pleased with our stay. The room was clean and tidy, and there’s a secure place to store our bikes. There are several restaurants nearby or just a short walk away. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
It depends on personal preference, but the bed is soft.

Трохи завузькі не сильно затишні номери. За півгодини до закінчення сніданку асортимент вже не поповнювався

The facilities are modern and clean, the rooms are very comfortable, and the surroundings are beautiful. The team working there was exceptionally welcoming and kind. We felt right at home and would definitely love to return!

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026The location of this hostel in the St. Johann im Pongau is great. The hostel is right next to the river and the cycling path, which we enjoyed in the evening. And then in the morning, it was only few minutes away from Lichtensteinklamm. There are terraces to enjoy in the evening (if you bring your dinner, or if you want to just chill or play cards or board games), the breakfast was great, too! The receptionist was very nice and helpful, and we could also park our car and bicycles in the garage underground.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Lage direkt am Tauernradweg Eine kleine Aussichtsterrasse mit einigen Sitzplätzen bietet abends eine Aussicht auf die Salzach.
Öffnungszeit erst ab 17 Uhr. Vorher keine Möglichkeit, Gepäck abzustellen, auf die Toilette zu gehen oder sich überhaupt draussen irgendwo aufzuhalten. Eigentliche Altstadt ohne Auto beschwerlich zu erreichen, da auf dem Berg. Alles sehr steril und extrem minimalistisch und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Dusche im Gemeinschaftsbad lief schlecht ab.

Reviewed Aug 7, 2026We chose to stay in the hostel a one night as a transfer option before moving to the permanent stay. It was convenient, clean, good breakfast, good location and helpful stuff.
The light sensor in the corridor and toilet is a bit inconvenient, especially when using at night, the regular switch on/off option would be better. Also there is a glass upper window at the top of the door to the shared corridor, evetytime you neighbors entering the lights are up, a bit disturbing when your sleep is sensitive.

Reviewed Aug 27, 2025The rooms were clean and equipped with all the basic facilities. The late check-in process was a bit confusing at first, but the receptionist was very helpful over the phone, clearly explained the steps, and even waited until we were able to access the room. Breakfast was good overall, though it would be even better with more variety, such as scrambled eggs. The boiled eggs were soft-boiled, which might be the local style in Salzburg—I noticed other guests enjoying them that way. Still, it was manageable. The property also has some play equipment for kids, and the common area on the second floor is excellent. The riverside views are absolutely picture-perfect. I like additional benefits like Mobile Salzburger Sportwelt Card(s) and Guest Mobility Ticket(s) which is helpful for non car travellers.
It would be great if scrambled eggs could be added to the breakfast menu. Extending the breakfast hours would also be a nice improvement. Otherwise, everything was perfect in every aspect. The tourist tax should ideally be included in the booking price on Booking.com rather than charged separately. While I know it was mentioned, it would be much better if it were already factored into the total amount at the time of booking.
