Beautiful hotel located on Fjærland fjord. The view of the fjord when you wake up is unparalleled. The dinner was delicious and the staff very kind and helpful. We would love to stay here again!

Forretten til middagen var tartar, rått kjøtt, noe vi ikke orker å spise, men det var ikke noe valg selv om fjorden er full av god fisk. Prisen for tre retters middagen var alt for høy i forhold til normalen

The location and the view was absolutely stunning. Our room was very cosy. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The price performance was not good. You had the feeling that you only pay for the beautiful view. In this price range there should be e.g. complimentary coffee/tea included or something similar.

Die Lage ist bezaubernd und das Gebäude hat Geschichte und Charme. Mit einem anderen (Preis)Konzept würde ich die Unterkunft als Bed & Breakfast besser bewerten.

Schlechtes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – keine Empfehlung Dies ist die erste negative Bewertung, die wir jemals schreiben müssen, aber bei einem Preis von 400 EUR pro Nacht haben wir uns schlichtweg über den Tisch gezogen gefühlt. Nach unserem dreiwöchigen Norwegen-Urlaub ist dies mit Abstand die Unterkunft mit dem schlechtesten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – aus unserer Sicht mindestens 150 EUR zu teuer. Das Zimmer bot lediglich Blick auf die Straße und den Berg (leider keinen Fjord), war sehr einfach, klein und extrem hellhörig. Besonders ärgerlich: Als Hotelgast zahlt man satte 1400 NOK extra für die Nutzung des Whirlpools – ein in unseren Augen völlig unverhältnismäßiger Aufpreis, den wir in keinem anderen Hotel in Norwegen erlebt haben. Das Abendessen (1000 NOK pro Person für 3 Gänge) war geschmacklich in Ordnung, spiegelte den hohen Preis jedoch ebenfalls kaum wider. Auch beim Frühstück war die allgemeine Unzufriedenheit unter den Gästen deutlich spürbar. Schade, hier stimmt das Verhältnis von Leistung und Kosten absolut nicht.

This was our favorite stay for our honeymoon in Norway. Every detail of this bed and breakfast is so thoughtfully decorated and cared for. The service is incredible and the views are breathtaking. We were upgraded to the best view in the house as a honeymoon treat and it was unreal. The owner came and chatted with us all about the history of Fjaerland and it was so interesting to hear. We highly recommend doing the 3 course dinner and wine pairing. The chefs are amazing and the experience is so fun. It all felt like a dream

Ein kleines gemütliches Hotel mit viel Charme direkt am Ufer des Fjordes.

Der Preis war für das winzige Zimmer schon enorm. Das war uns zwar bewusst, aber wir wollten trotzdem hin und es hat sich auch gelohnt.

Das Hotel liegt sehr schön am Fjäærlandfjord, in einerabsolut ruhigen und entstpannenden Gegend. Das Abendmenü im Hotelretaurant war, im nachhinein, eins der Highlights unserer Reise. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich. Die Frau des Inhabers ist Deutsche, was natürlich die Kommunikation erleichtert. 👍

Die Zimmer sind etwas knapp geschnitten, was jedoch dem charmanten, wunderbaren alten Haus direkt am Fjord geschuldet ist.

Prisen for de små værelser og den relativt enkle indretning af hotellet er meget høj. Hotellets tre retters menu var kvalitetsmæssigt ikke imponerende og for dyr sammenlignet med gode restauranter i fx Ålesund.

Frokosten var helt topp.

Loved the views and the history. Dinner and breakfast were excellent

While some reviews use the words cozy and charming, I would use the words rustic and spartan. While the downstairs was open and provided wonderful views over the water, our room was cramped and very stark. This was the most expensive room we had during our 15 day trip to the Netherlands and Norway, and it was far from the best room we stayed in during our trip and this was not the first "historic" building we booked. I do not believe that it was worth the price. The stairs to the second level are very very narrow, so beware hauling a suitcase up those stairs. The staff was very nice and very accommodating.

I believe the price of the room was overpriced for what was provided.

Die Lage direkt am Fjord mit der Terrasse über dem Wasser und der Aussicht auf Fjord und Gletscher ist unschlagbar, die Zimmer sind klein aber nett.

Die Badezimmer sind extrem klein, größere Menschen können sich nur schwer darin bewegen. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis bei den Zimmern aber insbesondere auch beim Essen könnte besser sein.

Non si tratta di un vero hotel, ma piuttosto di una guesthouse. Le foto delle stanze su booking sono estremamente fuorvianti. L'"hotel" consiste in una struttura piuttosto vecchia, con stanze piccole, anguste, sporche e scomode. Le pareti sono praticamente di carta, quindi si sente qualsiasi minimo movimento avvenga nell'edificio. Le stanze non sono adeguatamente schermate dalla luce. Il ristorante offre esclusivamente un menù troppo caro, che non abbiamo provato. La colazione è stata la più scarsa trovata in 15 giorni di viaggio in Norvegia. Hanno inoltre un bar che offre bevande calde di vario tipo e altre pietanze (cookies, ecc.) ma queste cose richiedono di pagare un sovraprezzo. L'offerta di caffè nella colazione inclusa nel prezzo consiste soltanto di un caffè imbevibile in un thermos. Nel complesso un hotel eccessivamente caro per quanto viene offerto. Nei dintorni non c'è molto altro, ma suggerisco di organizzarsi per pernottare altrove. A qualche chilometro di distanza si trovano località con hotel decisamente migliori e meno cari.

Das Hotel hat eine top Lage direkt am Fjord und das Frühstück ist sehr gut.

Das Preisniveau der Unterkunft ist für die Ausstattung zu hoch. Das Drei-Gänge-Menü ist für die Qualität der Speisen überteuert.

De charme had als keerzijde: trap opsleuren met koffers, zeer kleine kamers waarbij we koffers nauwelijks konden openen. Zaten vlak boven keuken met zeer veel lawaai (muziek en gezang) van beneden. Weg plan om eens vroeger te gaan slapen. je kan blijven eten maar is zeer zeer duur.

Den tre-retters middagen åpnet med en nedtur. Kamskjellene var stusselige, to fileter som var tørre og seige og kjedelig anrettet. Hovedretten var grei, oksestek. Desserten var god. Vinpakken, to glass, var god, men høyt priset. Rommet var trangt, og sengen bare tilgjengelig fra én side.

The hotel is beautifully located on the water with a nice deck and an indoor living room furnished with many comfortable chairs and sofas, both with excellent views. We enjoyed browsing the used bookstores of Mundal as well. In the evening prior to dinner the owner told us a little bit about himself, the hotel and the area which was a nice personal touch. Our room was quaint and unique, and the building has a lot of charm and personality. Dinner was an additional cost but delicious and relaxing. After visiting many touristy areas this was a very nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. We wish we had planned to stay another night!

It was all positive. Breakfast was served at 8 and we were unable to take advantage of that since we had to leave early the next morning. A grab and go option would have been fantastic but certainly no deal breaker for us.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Obwohl alles sehr klein ist, mussten wir auf nichts verzichten. Das Haus ist eben alt und dadurch authentisch! Das 3-Gänge-Abendessen war hervorragend. Für uns definitiv das beste Essen unserer Norwegen-Rundreise. Der Blick auf den Fjord ist unbeschreiblich schön. Auch das Frühstück bot alles, was wir uns wünschen konnten. Zu jeder Zeit war das Personal freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Vortrag des Besitzers zur Geschichte des Hotels war das "Tüpfelchen auf dem i"!

Sehr schöne Lage in einem historischen Hotel.

Sicherlich bedingt, aber ein sehr kleines Zimmer und sehr hellhörig (aber Ohrstöpsel lagen im Zimmer). Der Preis für das Dinner-Menü war verhältnismäßig hoch.

Prachtig locatie direct aan het fjord, het heeft veel charme en een mooi terras.

Kamers zijn zeer klein en gehorig. Wij hadden voor €300 per nacht meer kwaliteit en comfort verwacht. Het 3-gangen diner was matig en van supermarktkwaliteit. De gasten zaten verplicht binnen, ondanks de zomerse temperaturen en het mooie terras.
