If feels like the whole lake is yours. Host made every effort to make us comfortable including wood for the fire and an extra gas bottle for the water heater. Beds were comfy and warm.

Very cold, but the fireplace made for a cosy home.

Abraham und Peter haben uns das Bootshuis gezeigt. Absolute Perle direkt am See. Weit weg von der Zivilisation. Sehr schön zum entspannen. Der Ofen war top und hat das gesamte Haus gut gewärmt.

The staircase up to the unit which was mounted on wooden stilts was a challenge, but was managed . Perhaps this should be stated on the booking page.

This was a truly beautiful place to stay. The property provided everything we needed, including large windows and a spacious porch, both offering breathtaking views. Our only regret is that we were unable to spend more time enjoying it.

The property was clean and cozy, beautifully decorated with a fireplace that kept us warm during the rainy days.

We loved the fireplace, and the shower was great!

There are beautiful views of the lake from almost everywhere in the house and the wrap around deck. This property has everything you will need during your stay and the host, Esbie is just a phone call/WhatsApp message away should you need anything or have any questions. She is super friendly and communicates everything beforehand. There are kayaks and small fishing boats for you to make use of as well as braai facilities with charcoal and wood.

Die Boothuis delivers exactly what the description on booking.com says. It is well equipped, the location on the edge of the lake is quiet and allows one to switch off from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Une belle cabane sur pilotis, décorée avec goût ! C'est cozy et confortable ! Le lieu est très paisible, belle vue sur le lac notamment pour le lever du soleil c'est très sympa !

- C'est quand même assez isolé, il faut traverser des fermes pendant quasi 10mn donc si vous êtes des voyageurs en stopover comme nous, prevoyez de quoi vous faire à manger dans la cabane le soir car compliqué de se motiver à ressortir une fois la nuit tombée. - La douche vraiment pas terrible, on a eu 2mn d'eau brûlante puis que de l'eau gelée.. - Un grand coup de ménage profond ne serait pas de trop, je ne sais pas à quand remontait les derniers guests mais tout était poussiéreux notamment dans la chambre. Le ménage de la salle d'eau pourrait également être plus approfondi.

Lovely house in the middle of the nature! We enjoyed our stay and really appreciate the hospitality and help with any question we had. Close enough to the village to go for lunch (we loved the The Billiard Room).

The off grid road to the cabin is not easy accessible with a medium size car.

Voor ons was het een doorreis stop en bijgevolg niet ideaal omdat het nogal afgelegen ligt. Er is een open haard die goed werkt, de dekens zijn warm en een lekker warme douche, maar als de haard niet brand is het koud deze tijd van het jaar.

Quiet and tranquil location. Stoep perfect for watching the water and the birds. Well-equipped for an extended stay. Loved the wood-burning stove which kept us warm whilst it was chilly outside.

The house met our expectations - beautiful and cozy with nice views! We wil definitely return.

Die Boothuis was exactly as described, a beautiful 2 bedroomed boathouse/cottage on stilts right on lake Chrissie, we coud have sat for hours on the amazing wrap around veranda watching birds , Rock Dassies and enjoying the peace and quiet. Our host Esbie went far beyond any expectations, ensuring that we were safely checked in and supplied food as we had been on a long journey, she also took us birding both on arrival and prior to departure. The stay at this property made me feel so welcome it felt like we have made new friends who just were so excited that we enjoyed our stay, nothing short of exceptional.

We spent one night at the boothuis and despite a very cold and wet weather, the place is very cosy and confortable. Esbie and Pieter are super hosts, very accommodating. Great place !

The Boothuis was the highlight of our trip to Lake Chrissie. A little hidden Gem. It is so beautiful situated on the lake ❤️. The owners offered to bring us food and it was possible to do a braai on the deck overlooking the lake. In the morning when you wake up you see the Klip Dassies out of your bed sunbathing in the morning sun ☀️

Die Boothuis is an absolute gem right by the lake. It is a place to relax and unwind in the tranquility of the surroundings. The cottage is well-stocked, and the beds are delightful. The hosts, Pieter and Esbie, were wonderful and looked after us exceptionally well. If you wish to escape from it all, this should be on your bucket list. With no internet and poor signal strength for Telkom and MTN, it's best to leave work at home and reconnect with nature again. We will be back - this time for a longer stay.

Nothing. Just remember that you are out close to nature and the "goggos" will join you to share this wonderful place. They did not bother us at all, but if you are a squeamish person who is afraid of nature's little bugs, this might not be the place for you.

The hosts went out of their way to welcome us, and their kind welcome exceeded our expectations. When we saw the property, we immediately decided to extend our stay. So much care has been taken to decorate the place to make it cosy and comfortable and we didn't want to leave. If you look carefully, you will even spot some Dassie on the rocks outside one of the rooms. The location is peaceful and relaxing, and even has some really entertaining board games to keep you entertained. No need to leave the place if you don't want to!

Location great, but I was a bit worried about security, although host assured me it is not a problem. Esbie took us on an outstanding birding tour!!

Everything! This is a hidden gem. The place is stunning with lots of thoughtful touches. Fun games were available. Hot water bottles, even though the rooms were warm. Plenty of firewood for the fire. Rocking chairs on the back patio to take advance of the sun. The lake view is incredible. Apart from not having a microwave, all the creature comforts were available, including a Braai. Pieter and Esbie were amazing hosts. There are stairs to climb, so make sure you are mobile enough. Close to a lovely little restaurant if you feel like dining out.

We loved this unique, off-grid cottage! So tastefully decorated, toasty fireplace, interesting books and the real coffee was very much appreciated.
