Reviewed Apr 30, 2026Everything you require was available. Didn’t need to ask for anything. The host was exceptional even allowing me to park my vehicle in the garage. Amazing indoor braai with wood, fire lighters etc. supplied. VERY comfortable bed!! I would highly recommend this property.
Possibly the stairs may be an issue for older folk.

Reviewed Oct 1, 2024The location on the northern edge of town in a quiet street was perfect. If I had more time in the evenings I would definitely have used the well equipped braai in the unit.
Venetian blinds are not very good at blocking out sunlight. I would prefer a normal light switch for the bathroom, rather than motion activation of a bright light in the middle of the night. These are, however, extreme nit picking.

From the moment we arrived, Wikus kindly guided us and ensured we felt welcome. The thoughtful preparation of welcome fruits, chocolate, and a well-stocked fridge with water, juice, and milk was greatly appreciated. The accommodation itself was equipped with everything we needed, allowing us to stay comfortably for two days without any inconvenience. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant and hassle-free stay.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2024Everything, absolutely everything has been thought of and supplied. Piping hot water was always available. Very impressive that indoor braai did not smoke into the room at all. Hosts happily provide more wood if needed, in fact, provide anything you want. Welcoming bowl of fruit and sundry beverages in the fridge. Very private; come and go as you please.
It did not bother me, but the iron steps up to the upper room must be taken into account if you have any problems with mobility.

And in a month's time, we've stayed in a lot of different stays for a night and locations throughout South-Africa! The place was very clean, had a spotless bathroom with a shower, and beautiful homemade sink. For dinner, we used an airfryer (never seen that before in one of our stays). And the absolute pinnacle of this accommodation was the indoor braai! We loved it!! It gave warmth and a delicious dinner. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was filled with some welcoming treats. When we come back in a few years we'll definitely go back to UpperRoom Ceres! And maybe even hire their UpperRoom on Wheels to explore Cederbergen. The owner showed us some pictures of it, and it looked just as awesome and clean as the UpperRoom accommodation.
Nothing particular. If you're looking for a garden, this doesn't offer one. It's an upper room and has a balcony. For some, this can be a disadvantage. But we didn't mind at all.

Reviewed Dec 4, 2023If it was up to me, I would give the place 10 Stars⭐. It has everything that a guest could ask for and more! The hosts are super friendly. I was treated to a carbo loading meal before my half marathon the next day, and further given a lift to the start line of the race. I will definitely be back and book the same place again!

The load shedding issue has been taken into account with many lights being provided ,and can even watch TV during load shedding. Bonus was a fully stocked braai in the kitchen with wood , spices ,tongs etc ,as well as some refreshments in the fridge. Great view of the mountains and a quiet location. Will definitely recommend this property.

Reviewed Mar 12, 2023Wikus was an excellent host. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with pretty much everything needed plus a few things more. But for me, it was the personal touches. I was sent the load shedding schedule, weather forecast and links to places to visit either before or during my stay. And since I was arriving quite late, I was offered the option of a couple of things to braai instead of going to find what is a limited supply of non-franchise restaurants in Ceres. I'd highly recommend a stay here!

With Wikus even taking us to the local AgriMart to get a new gas canister. The apartment was tastefully done and spotlessly clean with Adeles magic touch! Such attention to detail 😍 highly recommend this beautiful spot.

The hosts Wikus and Adele were kind and considerate, and even allowed us to make a change to our reservation at short notice.

The neighborhood is calm, peaceful and closely located to town. The bed and sheets are of the best quality and the view of the mountains and greenery is spectacular. Tastefully decorated, with attention to detail makes this apartment feel homey and modern. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and the hosts were so accommodating with assisting us in any way possible. They showed us above average kindness and hospitality.

The hosts, Wikus and Adele, were incredibly accommodating and friendly, they really went the extra mile to make sure that I had everything I needed. The accommodation unit was spacious, extremely clean, private, and comfortable. A great stay and highly recommended.
Nothing springs to mind. The unit is on an upper level with stairs but they were no problem and safe to navigate in rain. Restaurants in town were not easy to track down for dinners outside of the usual suspects, but the unit comes with everything you need to prepare meals.

Reviewed Oct 30, 2022Upper Room Ceres is ideally situated, whether for a business trip or a fun-filled adventure at Ceres! Adele is a wonderful host who is very responsive and in constant communication. I was treated to spaghetti, fresh fruits, energy bars, and bottled still water upon arrival to prepare for my first Ceres Half Marathon the next day. No wonder I did so well in the half marathon 😊. The room had everything you could hope for - private access, a scenic view, kitchen utensils, a lovely fireplace, comfortable furnishings, fast uncapped wifi, TV with NetFlix, and all the little finishing touches that make it a 5-star. The place is in a safe location, definitely recommended and I expect I will visit again in the near future. The cleanliness of the rooms was of hotel standards, the room was spotless and ready for me when I got there. Thank you for the wonderful memories in Ceres!
I wish I had stayed longer to enjoy the 5 Star service for a longer period!
