Great room and view
The bathroom was smelly ( though clean)
Location was good, quiet, offbeat for disconnected weekend
Food could have been better
Location and ambience..
Excellent rooms and facilities. Ideal for a family or a group of families for a couple of days at Chaukori.
The location was very beautiful and far away from population which made the surroundings calm and quiet, small trap to hanging rocks is also beautiful. Saw many nee birds while I was there. Garden in front was also well maintained. Staff was helpful, the owner was there to help us and make our stay memorable. The dog coco is a beautiful and roams around without disturbing anyone.
Excellent
Handling of power cuts
The view from our room was magical - saw the snow clad mighty himalayan peaks in all their glory 😍 The sheets and towels were clean and fresh. The staff was polite and food warm , delicious ,just like we cook at home .
The flush was not working properly.
Ambience & view was excellent & near proximity of view point Anandmoye Ashram.
Nothing
Smiling, welcoming & caring owner, staff and awesome four legged angel Coco. The only REAL pet friendly Resort I could find in my 4 years of travelling with 2 dogs. Owner Mr Rakesh is a great conversationist and is a man with varied skills. Million dollar views of Himalayan range - Nanda Kot, The Pancha Chulis etc. from the rooms and outside. Very very peaceful surroundings. Very tasty home cooked without being oily. Great hiking trails. Nice sit out areas.
There's always scope for improvement but I couldn't find a fault.
Outstanding location. Stunning view of the entire Himalayan range. Helpful caretaker whose name is Ishwar. A lovely, young, playful dog, named Coco. A serene and silent ambience, pushing you towards reflection and spirituality. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. Overall an amazing experience.
All good, nothing to complain about.
It's a highly recommended place to be there in Chakauri. Very well decorated, furnished, neat and clean.
Electricity is not available all the time but they have power backup.
Limited options. But nice taste.
It's a small property, so go with fair expectation only, don't expect Hotel sort of facilities. Overall decent property and nice view.
Beautiful, serene and a quiet location with amazing views and great hospitality.
Maybe the garden can be extended to the empty patches. Some variety in food can be introduced.
Courteous prompt support staff. Beautiful atmosphere among nature. Good food. Ishwar was exceptional in his courtesy and bara Bhaiya was great too.
Noises from surrounding houses/home stays. We experienced that on one night of our stay. The second day, those noisemakers must have left the town. So it was peaceful again. Not much that the property owner can do about this.. This goes out to the local administration.
Everything - from the location of the property (it's a forest like area) to the big room which was entirely made of pine woods to the bathroom to 1 extra cot to the balcony to the view of the entire Nanda devi range from the balcony to the welcoming and polite conduct of the owner Joshi ji as well as the manager Ishwar. We were a family of 3 visiting. This was the best stay in our entire Kumaon Trip. Thank you Joshi ji for making Chaukori memorable. The food is excellent. We ordered rice, plain dal, paneer, aloo fry for dinner. For breakfast, we had tea, aloo paratha, sabzi, aachar, half-boiled eggs, curd. They cooked the eggs just like we told them. Extra brownie points for that. The food is a bit on the costly side (the paneer dish cost us ₹400) but the taste and the staff's politeness won us over. There is a sunset and sunrise point nearby. A 10 min walk from the property through the forest. This is a must visit. It's a flat land with a lot of trees. We visited both at sunset and sunrise. There's a hanging rock from which you can see the entire range crystal clear with nothing in between.
I would recommend this property 100%. Only thing to mention is the small bit of unpaved road that leads to the property from the main road but it's short (3-4 mins duration by car). So not a big problem.
The property is beautiful. Rooms are large and tastefully decorated. Staff behavior is excellent. Hospitality is excellent.
The entrance road is bad.
Absolutely loved our stay here. It had the amenities of a proper hotel with the warmth of a proper homestay. Was the perfect combination. The hosts - uncle and aunty - a cute retired couple and their fur baby Coco made us feel most comfortable. From whipping up special pahadi food for us, to showing us sunset spots to sharing their lovely stories with us, it was amazing. The property itself was beautifully done up, clean, and we had a great stay here. Will definitely come back again!
Hospitality
Nothing to mention
Room was neat and clean .
Beautiful property, location and property the view… the owner of the place and the staff were really very caring.. took care of us as their own…
Beautiful views, large comfortable rooms, very friendly staff. Food was ok.
Amazing place! Big cozy rooms with an amazing view. The hosts were wonderful, started a nice bonfire for us, we had our dinner by the fire, it was great!
The room, the view, and the food was amazing. The host Rakesh was very friendly and made our stay really comfortable.
Location was awesome , very peaceful , serene environment, free from traffic and chaos, very silent, lap of the nature.
Little pricy of dinner , they made the dinner bill more like moong dal for 4 people for 1000 rupees , very high prices , I suggest to go to town for dinner . Not eat here in this resort. And also one problem of electricity is also there.
Great place. Huge size Excellent facilities.
Road access can be better.
- Good views of the mountains - The rooms were spacious - The guard there is a good cook
- We were told heaters were available but could not be used as the electrical system could not handle it. One of the rooms had a fireplace so we used that for heating the room, but the charges were exorbitant, Rs 600 for a few hours of use. - Food was delicious, but really expensive. I think we paid Rs 400 for a khichidi! - There was a strange smell in the bathrooms of both the rooms we had, possibly an issue with the plumbing. - Staff were nice but didn't seem to have training in how to run a homestay
It has a great view and the facility was quite clean. We stopped over only for a night stay on way to Munsiyari and the owner was very responsive over the Booking.com and the caretaker were good with great homely food
The water could have been hotter in the gyser and it would have been better with a heater in the room as the rooms are very spacious and nice
Superb location & view, lovely garden, attentive host, and aesthetically pleasing place. Framed by forests and snow capped mountains.
Food prices were a little on the high side.
The caretaker, Mr. Trilochan was extremely helpful. The location was excellent, maybe a little less than KMVN TRH, but still an excellent one. The rooms were spacious with all facilities. And two lovely dogs - Max and Koko.
I liked the cleanliness and the food .
For the place it's in it's v nice
Overall a very good stay experience but Chaukori doesn't have much to do . Can be a stopover for other locations in Kumaon .
The Billing of Hotel Room is a Big Issue . I was charged the Goods and Services Tax without getting a Bill showing the same . In fact , I was given a kachha bill which does not work at all and is very unsatisfactory ! Property should not have charged Tax without issuing a Tax Invoice , and gave me a false story of how the same has to be paid to Booking.com which I feel is untrue . KINDLY RESPOND TO THIS COMPLAINT AND RESOLVE IT SATISFACTORILY AT THE EARLIEST .
Amazing hosts, great Views from the room, pleasent ambience, yummy food, they even provided with the torch and umbrella!
Very good property - quite new with large and well done rooms. Very nice view from the balcony. Special thanks to Yogesh and Hema who served us delicious food and took really good care of us
Nothing aa such
The location, ambience and the rooms are really nice. The parking space also very good and can accomodate 5-6 cars. Would like to stay here again if going to chaukori..
The staff and owner were helpful and made every effort to make my stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. They were hospitable, thoughtful, and welcoming. The property has a gorgeous view of the Himalayan mountains.
Not necessarily anything I didn't like. At the time when I stayed, the property was new and had begun business not too long ago. The garden was mostly still under construction and so was another surrounding structure.
This new build hotel offers fantastic views over the Himalaya and has been furnished to a high spec. The owner could not have been more welcoming and in the time that I spent there I felt like part of his family. The hotel is exceptionally good value for money and is just a short distance from Hanging Rock where the whole panorama of the Kumaon mountains can be seen. Great views of Panchachuli. Even a friendly dog called Coco. What's not to like?!
