Reviewed Aug 24, 2026L'accueil est très sympathique, le personnel est d'une gentillesse authentique, la chambre est rénovée depuis peu, tout est moderne et très propre. La literie est très confortable. Le petit déjeuner est bon, il y a des produits frais locaux. Le restaurant propose une carte simple, mais les plats sont savoureux. Possibilités de promenade juste derrière l'hôtel. L'hôtel se trouve à deux pas de la gare, mais nous avons passé une nuit sans bruit.
Seul le prix me semble un peu élevé pour la région.

Reviewed Aug 29, 2025Die Familie, die das Gasthaus betreibt ist sehr herzig und ein sehr guter Gastgeber. Das Zimmer war gemütlich, wir konnten sehr gut schlafen. Sprudel- und Dampfbad waren gute Extras. Das Frühstück war klein aber fein, perfekter Start in den Tag. Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet, direkt am Bahnhof.
Über die Umbauarbeiten wurden wir gut informiert. Wir haben es wahrgenommen aber sie haben uns nicht gestört.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2025The owners of the gasthaus are so supportive and friendly, you really feel like a part of the family. It was the first time in our lives when the owner new all of us by names. They know the region, can give advice what to visit. If you stay 3+ nights, you get Appenzeller Ferienkarte which allows you to explore all the region. Train station is 2 min away which is very convenient. Free parking place for the car just nearby. I would definitely recommend this place!
Due to ongoing construction, there were occasional evening conversations from workers on site, so it wasn't quite the typical Swiss quiet. WiFi was not stable, but it wasn't important for us so we didn't ask to adjust it.

Purtroppo al momento della prenotazione non viene specificato che l'hotel è in completa ristrutturazione e quindi non perfettamente accogliente. Fortunatamente era week end e il cantiere era fermo altrimenti avremmo avuto rumori a mattina presto. Cosa che ci è stata detta dopo aver confermato la prenotazione. Ci è andata bene Colazione un pò scarsa .

I wish the small town had some eateries or a grocery store like Coop; we had to travel to another stop for everything.

Propreté irréprochable Petits déjeuners corrects Très proche d'Appenzell (5min en voiture) Place de parking Possibilité de payer sur place en cash.

Reviewed Jan 12, 2025I proprietari di questa Gasthaus sono delle splendide persone che ti accolgono col cuore. Ci sente veramente accolti in un atmosfera familiare. Camera molto bella, comoda e spaziosa. Colazione favolosa e di qualità, soprattutto le marmellate. La spa anche se piccola, mi è piaciuta tantissimo in particolare l'hammam all'eucalipto e la stanza del riposo con vista sulle colline appenzellesi.

Reviewed Nov 3, 2024Ich wurde sehr freundlich willkommen geheissen. Zu meiner Freude, erhielt ich ein Upgrade auf mein Einzelzimmer (herzlichen Dank dafür). Frühstück wie auch das Abendessen waren sehr gut. Immer wieder wurde nachgefragt, ob noch ein Wunsch besteht. Spontan habe ich am Abend ein Velo für den nächstn Tag gemietet (Veloservice auswärts), mein Wunsch wurde umgehend weitergeleitet und es hat am nächsten Tag alles bestens geklappt. Merci viu mau. Ich kann nur sagen "so geht Gastfreundschaft". Dem ganzen Team ein herzliches Dankeschön!! Gerne komme ich ein Andermal wieder.

Zelf beviel het bed niet goed. Het matras was naar mijn idee erg hard. De vriend die met mij was heeft wel prima kunnen slapen.

Reviewed Jun 17, 2024Die Besitzer und auch das Personal waren unglaublich nett. Die Lage des Hotels ist super immer ein freier Parkplatz. In 5 Minuten in Appenzell und in 10 Minuten an den Bergbahnen. Das Mittag und Abendessen war sehr gut. Ab 3 Übernachtungen gibts die Ferienkarte mit vielen Vergünstigungen. Mittagsmenü konnte auch noch am Abend bestellt werden, sehr gut.
Das Frühstück hätte im Bereich Wurst, Obst und Wecke etwas üppiger ausfallen können. Die Wasserpreise vieleicht überdenken.

Reviewed Apr 21, 2024Sehr unkomplizierter Check-in. Die Juniorchefin hat uns sofort durch das ganze Haus geführt. Zimmer absolut ruhig und gedämmt - man hört nichts von Zimmernachbarn und Straße. Die Betten sehr bequem und die Bettwäsche sehr hochwertig. Wir haben abends dort gegessen, für dortige Verhältnisse faire Preise und gute Qualität! Sehr netter Plausch mit der Chefin; man fühlt sich sofort wie ein Stammgast. Wir werden wiederkommen.
