The room and the bathroom was very spacious. Nice big balcony as well with rooftop balcony as well. Swimming pool was small but sufficient. Great location to visit the complete south-western part of Mauritius. The staff was very friendly and helpful!

There was not a lot to do in La Gaulette. However supermarket and petrol station was nearby.

Le camere sul fronte della casa hanno un panorama strepitoso sulla laguna, la nostra - essendo laterale - non l'aveva. Colazione ottima, con frutta, crepes o brioche, uova, pane, marmellate e yogurt

Sehr schön eingerichtetes Guesthouse, großzügige, saubere Zimmer, super Badezimmer. Wunderschöne Aussicht vom Balkon aus, traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge. Das Frühstück war reichlich und wurde an unsere veganen Wünsche angepasst. Sabrina und Jean Pierre mit ihren Angestellten sind ein perfektes Team, sehr hilfsbereit und offen für jede Frage. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, wollten eigentlich nur eine Woche bleiben, haben dann aber um noch eine Woche verlängert. Der nächste wunderschöne Strand Le Morne Beach ist ca. 8 km entfernt. Es empfiehlt sich ein Auto oder Scooter, da fußläufig leider kein Strand erreichbar ist.

L'aménagement intérieur du batiment, et la salle de petit déjeuner où on se sent bien. le petit déjeuner, copieux, varié, avec des produits locaux et du "fait maison". Les discussions avec Sabrina qui nous ont permis de mieux comprendre la vie à Maurice. La proximité de la forêt et de sa faune et de sa flore. L'observation des oiseaux et des renards volants. Le village de la Gaulette, ses restaurants (le chaser, l'eldorado, l'ocean vibes ou le snack one eye surf). L'emplacement de la Gaulette, au top pour visiter l'ouest et ses plages (le morne, tamarin, flic en flac) ainsi que les randos en montagne jusqte derrière (Chamarel, gorges de la rivière noire). On se gare dans la rue, sans problème de place.

ce n'est pas lié à l'hebergement mais les chiens de la gaulette "chantent fort" la nuit.....comme partout à Maurice d'ailleurs. On finit par s'y habituer....

A good option mainly for those traveling by car. The property is quite far from the main road, and there are stray dogs in the area. The access road is steep, but if you drive up the hill you’ll always find parking. Still, within a short drive you have a large GSR supermarket and the island’s only specialty coffee shop, Kind Coffee. Check‑in was smooth, and the lady who welcomed us presented the room very nicely. Unfortunately, breakfast was disappointing — the weakest we had anywhere on the island. It consisted of an omelette (upon request), a few fruits, fresh bread, margarine (why so unhealthy) and three almost‑empty jam jars that stayed the same for three days. They promised pancakes for two days in a row and only made them on the third day, and we received just two. The staff serving breakfast made us feel like we were in their way. I wouldn’t recommend trying the breakfast. Had no problems with the shower temperature, which is a big plus on this island. Overall, I recommend this place.

Unterkunft war perfekt. Einzig, man brauch bei der Lage der Unterkunft ein Auto, um an die schönen Stände zu kommen.

The location was perfect for my first visit to Mauritius, away from the large towns and resort hotels. My rooms had all I require a large bedroom with sitting area. Generous size bathroom and shower. Air-con and fan with plenty of light and UK sockets, a spacious balcony not on the sea front, but you can see the ocean and horizon with La Morne Brabant mountain always prominent. Very generous breakfast which changed daily to give variety. Very friendly hosts and staff who helped with everyone and everything you required. Very good GSR supermarket up the road with everything you need like home. Bus stops very close and frequent going North and South.

Nothing to do with the guest house, but a few stray dogs around and even more cats next nearby, some people were wary of them. Also beware the buses finish totally at 6.30pm, if you budget for a hire car, parking is possible outside, I assume first come first served. Below I have described the natural beach 10 minutes away by bus, as the immediate beach across the road is a black pebbled beach with mangroves and a small harbour and natural, looking totally different at high tide as image.

Amazing and very friendly hosts - we could check-in earlier and were provided with many insights and ideas for activities and services nearby. Spacious room with a huge bed and a nice bathroom. Parking available directly in the front of the guest house. Great location.

Wifi was not always stable, but mostly fine.

Top Lage, man kann alle Sehenswürdigkeiten im Südwesten innerhalb kürzester Zeit erreichen. Besonders toll war das liebe Personal, hier möchte ich insbesondere Sabrina hervorheben, sie war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist auch sehr lecker. Wir würden es weiter empfehlen und wieder kommen.

Nur eine kleine Sache: Pflegeprodukte im Bad wären toll gewesen und nachts haben die Hunde in der Nachbarschaft laut gebellt.

Als wir das Guesthouse und den richtigen Eingang gefunden hatten, waren wir angenehm überrascht. Es war unsere erste Unterkunft auf Mauritius. Zimmer sauber und ausreichend groß, Balkon mit Blick auf den Ozean, ein kleiner Pool mit Sitzmöglichkeiten und ein ordentliches Frühstück. Gute Restaurants waren für uns fußläufig zu erreichen. Mal günstig, mal etwas teurer, aber immer gut. Zum Baden musste man ein Stück fahren (Le Morne), aber zum Wandern, z. B. zu den sieben Erden war das Guesthouse für uns genau richtig. Einen Mietwagen sollte man allerdings haben, da man sonst schlecht von dort weg kommt.

Good location, very nice and polite staff. Delicious breakfast for anyone, who likes egg based breakfast. We had seaview room, so it felt like we wede waling up in a movie.

Es fehlt einfach eine Liege oder Sitzsack auf der Terrasse, da die Camping Stühle schrecklich unbequem sind

Leider war der stellvertretende Gastgeber sehr desinteressiert. War mehr mit seinem Handy als mit den Gästen beschäftigt. Küchenpersonal aber sehr freundlich.

Im Pool lag ständig der Sauger und auf dem Poolboden lag Dreck. Kein Wasser im Kühlschrank. Zimmer 8 direkt über dem Wasserspeicher der ständig pumpte. Ständiges Hundegebell vor allem nachts. Zeitweise Gestank nach Abfluss im Zimmer.

Les personnes étaient incroyablement gentilles et serviables. Particulièrement Gregory qui a même fait des tresses à mon compagnon!!! L’ambiance était super le petit déjeuner délicieux et tout était propre! Aussi, Sabrina nous a donné plein de recommandations incroyables :)

Seulement les guêpes qui s’incrustent dans la chambre mais ce n’est pas du ressort de l’hôtesse !

Nuestra hostess, Sabrina, y el personal Tracy, Olivia y Gregory, que nos hicieron sentir como en casa a 10000km de ella, y se convirtieron en nuestra familia Mauriciana. Tambien quiero acordarme de Jan Pierre, que fue quien nos recibio y nos dio una calurosa bienvenida y nos acogió como si fueramos amigos de toda la vida.

Perfecta localizacion para ir al spot kite le morne, si no quieres alojarte en los resorts. Happy Days es acogedor y su hostess y su personal te tratan como familia. Favorece la iteraccion con otros huespedes y se crea un ambiente muy positivo y con buena onda.

Localização perfeita. A moradia é super bonita, tem uma vista incrível para Le Morne. Super tranquilo! Os quartos são super espaçosos e limpos, a varanda do quarto é a melhor parte! Toda a casa é super limpa! O pequeno almoço é incrível também. O staff é atencioso e super prestável. A casa tem uma óptima vibe! A Sabrina sempre pronta para resolver qualquer problema. Adorei tudo!

Wasserdruck in der Dusche ist nicht immer so gut, aber "meckern auf hohem Niveau ".

Ruhige Lage in einem Wohngebiet. Traumhafter Blick von unserem Balkon auf Palmen und Meer. Großzügiges Zimmer. Frühstück sehr gut. Parken entlang der Straße kein Problem. Im Ort zwei empfehlenswerte Restaurants: Gregory's Secret Restaurant und - fußläufig - das Heritage Sunset Café und Restaurant. Ein guter Standort, um den Süden der Insel zu erkunden! Wir würden wieder hier buchen.

Sabrina y el resto del personal es muy amable y dispuestos a ayudar y aconsejar en qué hacer en la zona. Las vistas de la habitación son preciosas. Habitación grande y limpia. El pan del desayuno buenísimo!

Sauberes und gepflegtes Guesthouse. Gutes Frühstück mit täglich wechselndem Gebäck (Pancakes, Kuchen, Croissants). Eiergerichte auf Wunsch. Sehr leckerer frischer Saft. Parkplätze an der Straße vorhanden. In der Küche kann Geschirr und die Mikrowelle genutzt werden. Von einigen Zimmern kann man den Sonnenuntergang sehen, ansonsten darf man auf die Dachterrasse. Sabrina ist immer hilfsbereit, gut erreichbar und gibt gute Tipps für Ausflüge. Großer Supermarkt und mehrere Restaurants in der Nähe.

Nachts laut bellende Hunde in der Nachbarschaft (keine Straßenhunde), was aber nicht zu ändern ist.

The breakfast is what I usually like to have — good coffee, really good baguette, omelette and some fresh fruits. The place is very clean and well maintained. The owner really likes solid wood furniture. The beds, the dining tables and some others were shipped here from Bali. The hostess Sabrina was also amazing and helped us solve some logistics issues with local vendors.

This was a really good choice for us! We loved everything in this little Guest house. Staff was amazing, lovely fresh breakfast and the most stunning view from our room! Nearby are so many restaurants you can choose from also a convenience store. No problem with parking at all. I would recommend this accommodation!

i loved this hotel! our favourite on the whole trip. amazing service - friendly, helpful and good communication. a delicious, healthy and simple breakfast that prepared us for the rest of our day. really comfortable beds with balconies where you can dry your swimwear etc. hot shower!! which confusingly our other hotels did not meet our expectations on. rooms are really good. highly recommend. its close to also one of our two favorite beaches in mauritius - le morne. you can also hike le morne brabant from here. snorkelling is also good at this beach and sand and water is fantastic.

We weren’t given any toiletries except for a tiny bar of soap. This caught us off guard and had to go find a shop to buy shampoo and shower gel. We had several ‘visitors’ including a huge spider and some geckos but I understand it’s part of being so close to nature. When we booked, the pictures showed tables and chairs on the patio area but our room didn’t have any external furniture with the exception of a wooden bench, and it was a bit disappointing as we wanted to have dinner there. The property is a bit uphill, which wasn’t really an issue for us but for people who do not have a car and need to go up and down the hill, it might be.

One of the best locations on the island. You have few minutes drive-by to the best beaches. There are restaurants within a walk. Everyone is really kind and helpful. All the attractions you need to see are really close. The breakfast in the hotel is really amazing with fresh fruits and freshly baked bread (baguette) each day. You will really enjoy it. The People are wonderful. Huge thanks to Sabrina for being so helpful and showing us around. If you have any questions about anything don’t hestitate to ask.

Happy days is a nice budget guest house.  It is adequate, not luxurious.  The room #6 was large and we had a Seaview over rooftops from a nice balcony.  Parking is on the street. It was safe and never a problem.  There is a small pool, which we didn't use. Nearby are numerous restaurants and groceries,  so the location is quite good. It's a 10min drive to several good beaches. The AC worked well. The internet was usually good, but when weather blows in, not so good. Wifi worked in my room, but not on the balcony.  The room had an electric kettle, but no tea, no cups. You can get a coffee mug from the bf area.  BF was fresh island fruit, breads, eggs cooked to order, cereals, American style drip coffee and tea. It was fine, but not luxurious.  Towels are limited. They change them every 3or4 days.  They did not make the room everyday. They do not provide shampoo, or other toiletries, except toilet paper which was provided. It's a good location and a good value, as long as you recognize that this is a budget hotel and don't have 4star expectations. 

This is an excellent accommodation. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable, and offer a stunning view. The owner is probably the kindest person in all of Mauritius. She is very helpful, accommodating, and always willing to assist in any way possible. She greatly helped us with a problem we encountered on our journey. Gregor and the two ladies who prepare breakfast and take care of cleaning are also very kind and helpful. They make excellent breakfasts and the best egg omelets. I highly recommend this accommodation to everyone. I look forward to returning to this place and staying here again. Thank you very much for everything!

We spent our anniversary at Happy Days and we loved it here! From the moment we stepped in we felt at home. We enjoyed the friendly, family-like vibe and enthusiasm radiated by the staff who walked an extra mile to accommodate us. Breakfast was great with a new fruit delicacy every morning, especially the tomatoes omelet made to order. Beds were super comfy, and the place was so quiet – we slept like babies. Room décor might not be modern and stylish, but the ocean view from the balcony was memorable. The room’s furniture was basic, and there was no TV. However, we had all the small comforts, such as drying clothes rack with clippers, a small fridge, a spacious wardrobe, and well-functioning Wi-Fi. We loved the calming colors and textures highlighting the local Mauritian culture and fresh flowers. Every breakfast felt gourmet thanks to the magic of Olivia, Gregory and Gloria. Special regards to our outgoing hosts, Sabrina and Jean who were generous with their time and affection. We appreciate their recommendations about our-door activities, help with bicycle rentals, and overall, their genuine interest and hospitality.❤️🇲🇺🤗

If I must mention a few downsides, I would say the rooms could use an update, but the hotel was clean and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower could be weak at times, and the AC might be a bit noisy for light sleepers.

This may be the place with the most beautiful view in the whole Mauritius. I also had the room next to the tree with the cutest birds building their nests there- it was magical. In the morning there were rooster to hear, it’s the real village idyll feeling. It was so quiet, I don’t remember when I slept that good last time in my life. The neighborhood is full of such beautiful plants and trees, cats, dogs and birds, I was so captivated by it. Sabrina, the host was so lovely, helpful and facile, I felt like I am visiting the old friend. The rest of the team was also very lovely. The breakfast was super nice, with the different fruits and juices every morning and the Greg’s omelette was the best that someone ever prepared for me, I could eat it every day. This place is perfect for somebody who is looking to rest and relax and doesn’t want to be surrounded by crowds and too many people. I loved every second there and feel really blessed that I stayed there.

The breakfast was really good, freshly prepared with care by the staff, who were all very nice. The room was spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. Everything was clean. The host was very helpful and easy to reach, had lots of great tips.

Everything was good. The pool seemed to be out of order but being so close to such wonderful beaches, we did not miss having a pool.

I liked about the stay there. The fact that is in a quiet area surrounded by locals and a beautiful landscape. I had the room in front of the view of ile aux Benitiers was absolutely beautiful. The kindness of the Host is superlative. She is reacheable any time of the day of you need help or advices :) <3.

We were missing a long mirror in the room and I would improve the breakfast doing a placard with all the thing that offer the day offers or a more selection of teas and jams. But overall was nice.

This is one of the best guesthouses I have ever stayed in. The hospitality of Jean Pierre and sabrina is exceptional. Their house is so tastefully furnished, comfortable and their breakfast is exceptional thanks to Gregory. They give great advice on restaurants and activities in the area. This is a real gem and would highly recommend.

Room was nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was basic but good. Parking on the street, good location.

We were informed that check-in is only possible after 6 pm. Loud AC right above the bed.

Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Amazing view. Good location for base for exploring the southwest of the island (need car to get around, but a few restaurants in walking distance). Very clean. Would stay there again.

The place exceeded our expectations. Firstly, I'd like to mention the location of the accommodation. It's situated in a calm part of the island, close to the most beautiful and peaceful beach and also various shops and restaurants. The surroundings are perfect for relaxation. The apartment itself was very comfortable and well-equipped. We had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean. Additionally, the breakfast served at the accommodation was delicious and offered a variety of options, including fresh fruits, pastries, and local specialties. It was a great way to start our days of exploring the island. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Throughout our holiday, they took care of our comfort. I have to give a special shout-out to Sabrina, who was amazing. She made it possible for us to check in early which we appreciated so much. She also provided us with tips in the next part of the island. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay in La Gaulette and would definitely return. I recommend this accommodation for those looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to stay in Mauritius.

Unfortunately without a car it’s really difficult to get somewhere that’s why it’s so peaceful. You can go by bus but that takes time. Otherwise you need to rely on taxi.

The hosts were very nice and gave us a lot of infos about activities/tours in the area. Room was basic, but spacious and clean.

Old and dirty carpets in the bathroom, air conditioning not working, rude staff, noisy at night due to dogs and toads around the house, ugly neighborhood. Extremely low q/p ratio, do yourself a pleasure, just avoid it

The guest house has amazing views of the sea, the decor is beautiful...like a spa retreat without the spa ..very calming and relaxing vibe. The owners were so friendly and gave us so much information about the area , even some history of Mauritius. The ladies name was Sabina and she is extremely nice and went out of her way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. There is no TV in the room, but we liked that as we spent more time outside in the amazing surroundings.
