Quiet Gate Guest House

Best view from the rooftop terrace! Friendly people working there. Highly recommend this stay!

Abdul is lovely host and will do anything to make your stay more comfortable and organise trip and tours at a reasonable price. The property is gorgeous and has gorgeous view of the balloons and valley of kings. Very peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

I arrived and my room was occupied. They put me up temporarily. There was no electricity. Late in the afternoon they told me my room was ready. I went up and it was occupied by a couple. They left the same sheets on the bed. The terrace area was extremely dirty. Uber service doesn't operate in the area.

Very beautiful place, a bit of the main road, quiet. Close to all the archaeological sites. Really kind people.

I had a very peaceful stay with incredible views from the roof terrace and easy access to the sites. The family were welcoming and helpful and the home cooked breakfast and generous evening meal were both local and delicious. The place was clean, the beds comfortable and the WiFi was good. Thank you to all the family for your kind hospitality

Nothing

We had a really lovely stay at this guesthouse and would gladly recommend it to anyone coming to Luxor who’s looking for something quiet and genuine. The hosts are kind, open, and sincere, and there’s an easy warmth to the place that makes you feel welcome right away. The rooftop was a real highlight, with beautiful views of the Theban Hills and the surrounding countryside. The guesthouse sits right at the edge of the village, where the houses fade into green fields, and being surrounded by farmland gives it a calm, rural feel that’s deeply relaxing. The location is excellent. It’s an easy walk to the Colossi of Memnon, and the walk toward the Valley of the Kings takes you through sugarcane fields, which is an experience in itself. You’re close to all the main West Bank sites, yet the area stays peaceful and free from traffic and crowds. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed, including reliable hot water, and nothing felt lacking. Breakfast was excellent and clearly made with care, with a generous and varied spread each morning. Having it included in the room price was a real bonus. Overall, this guesthouse offers the best of both worlds: close to the sights you come to Luxor for, but peaceful, rural, and full of local character. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. The owner is very kind and takes care of everything. The food is delicious; we ate there every day. The location is perfect for visiting the kings valley and other attractions. The drivers are courteous and very friendly. It was wonderful to be here, thank you for everything! We hope to return.

We had a wonderful stay at the Quiet Gate Guesthouse. The rooftop terrace is absolutely fantastic! Having breakfast up there while watching the hot-air balloons come down in the morning is such a beautiful way to start the day. You even get a lovely view of the Temple of Hatshepsut. The location is perfect: very close to the Valley of the Kings, making it easy to get there, and there are several places to eat just around the corner. The staff were incredibly kind and caring. They really look after their guests, always available when you need something, yet never intrusive. Breakfast was also delicious.

This is not your average 5 star hotel - it's much more. This is people opening their house and arms to have you as their guests and to go above and beyond. You are looked after so well, they will help you to organize everything you need, and the food is fantastic. The location of the house is so nice and quiet but also you get to see the balloons and some parts of local life. It's truly amazing. If you want to experience Luxor in a true way, this is the place.

The guest house is very calm on the West bank of louxor, very sympathic hosts, very good meals and good tours as fellucas with Mahmoud. Pleasant stay, with great view on the rooftop

Great host, nice place and amazing surrounding.

Mahmoud and his family were an exceptional host. He profides guiding services and offers the most competitive prices in Luxor for all touristic activities. Dare to pass the gate, you will experience a blink of the deep and real egyptian inner culture and traditional cuisine. A peaceful place to relax from the hectic, spinning and harassing Luxor. A touch of eternity on the rooftop with an impregnable and breathtaking view on « The King’s Valley ». Of course, it’s not a 5* hotel, but it’s by far a much more insightful and meaningful human experience that what most of the luxury mass touristic industry has to offer.

Nothing, it was just great.

It is a friendly family with good hospitality, they made sure we were happy all the time. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and the view. They helped my friend who had food poisoning quickly and brought some stuff.

Fantastic view and location looking over the fields and desert. Very quiet and was great to have a pool. The hosts were very helpful in arranging many tours for us and treated us like guests in their home

Nice staff, good breakfast, I will come back again

Family operated guesthouse. The owner and the family are very thoughtful. If you need a place away from a busy day this place is good for you. The rooftop view is amazing specially early morning as you can view the balloons flying all over the place. At the moment still on going construction ‘I think’. So there’s a lot of room to improve. If you want to help small businesses then it would be great. For backpackers I think it’s okay. Mohammed the owner is really helpful.

The location is not easy to access if you don’t have private transportations. (But if you do have, then no issues). The room that we avail, bedsheets and pillow covers seems not changed as we see hairs on the pillows and sheets… The door lock needs to be replaced. It helps the guests feel safer.

Mahmoud and brother were amazing and very very hospitable. We enjoyed a delicious dinner with an array of food and a very good breakfast in the morning. Mahmoud was very kind and went above and beyond for us. The views are absolutely stunning and I suggest waking up early in the morning to view the hot air balloons over the valley of the kings. Mahmoud kindly let us check out late as we had a flight to catch, I would highly recommend staying here. Room and facilities very neat and tidy. Pool was amazing to enjoy on a hot day. 100/100.

this place is located in a quiet place, close to history area with a large of green fields.. You also have your privacy, your own pool to sit in the sun , the manager is very helpful, so i got home safe, . I strongly recommend this place price / quality is good

Familiar staff, tasty food and clean room

Guest house located in a very quiet and majestic area beautiful view from the roof terrace very close to the temples every morning you can watch the balloons flying right next to it. Very nice owners I recommend eating dinner made by the owner's wife very tasty. The man who takes care of the guests is called Machmud and he is a person who can organize literally everything I recommend the balloon flight was amazing, very good value for money. Greetings to the owners and Machmud I will definitely go back there someday🙏

everything was great

Mahmud, the owner,is a really very reliable and responsible man.He came to pick me up at the bus stop, and help me plan with my itenerary for my trip,to organise all transports to the balloon ride, all the monuments and he took me even to banana island. As he has a boat, sailing the Nile river was possible any time:-) The breakfast was really tasty and the lady very polite.Guys having dinner or breakfast on the roof from the Quiet guests house and enjoying the view on the Valleys...it's just amazing. The crew(staff) of this house is simply amazing, they are lovely people... I strongly appreciate their hospitality and care... Simply I can only and only recommend! Thank you

Too many activities...👌 Great time and most important, very safe...

Very close to temples and good food and breakfast Room and bathroom clean and spacious. swimming pool very clean

It's a bit hard to find but once you are there the quiet of the place is amazing. The terrace is very beautiful and big and makes the whole place feel very cozy. The highlight was definitely eating breakfast at sunrise while hundreds of balloons were flying in the background. Mahmoud, the manager of the place, was very kind and helpful. He even took us on a sunset boat ride across the Nile to banana island for just a few bucks, which was also amazing.

Unfortunately the bathroom and the bed were not really that clean.

Friendly staff and good breakfast , i will back again

Quiet place, friendly staff,

The hosts were fantastic and Mahmoud was very proactive, organizing transportation and ensuring I had everything I needed. He suggested very good activities and helped organized them, including a boat ride on the Nile at sunset. The food was excellent and the roof top terrace is an amazing place to see the hot air balloons fly by in the morning. The family was great and the whole community was very welcoming. It was an extraordinary experience. I felt very safe at that property travelling by myself. I left valuable in my room without any issues. I definitely recommend this host.

Mahmoud is a great host. The place is quiet with a magnifocent view from the roof terrace.

Friendly staff , The Manager very active , very good breakfast

First of all we really love the calm and friendly family atmosphere and location. Further it was great to have stay at this place whenever we needed something Mr.Mahmoud was doing his best to comfort us. Thank you to all for being so nice and. i will back again

Very friendly clean and the view is very good for the Garden and to look on the mountain of kings valley and queens valley

quiet place, Friendly staff, good breakfast. I will back again

The location was quiet and sorrounded by nature, and the staff was very helpful

Excellent welcome!! Charming hotel, authentic and full of history. We felt good from the moment we arrived. Also, we ate the best meal we ate in Egypt!! If the opportunity arises, we will return with great pleasure and have already advised this hotel to travelers we met on excursions to another city.

I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Mahmoud and his family at Quiet Gate Guest House on the West Bank in Luxor. The facilities—including the bedrooms, pool, kitchen, and relaxation areas—were excellent and comfortable. My room featured air conditioning and a balcony with a spectacular view. Mahmoud, the manager, was exceptionally kind and attentive to every request. He provided valuable information about visiting attractions, accessible transportation options, and insights into Egyptian culture. I especially appreciated the personalized attention; I truly felt at home, enjoying unique landscapes, the tranquility of the location, and its beautiful sunrises and sunsets. If you need anything, they are ready to assist you. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to fully immerse themselves in the west side of Luxor!

Nothing to say.

Good location , quite place , organic food , I will back again

The host, Mahmoud, is very kind and hospitable. He helped me arrange the tours with a good price. The room is nice. The view is good. The pool was cool. The breakfast is tasty, too.

Staff are very friendly and helpful the rooftop and the view are exceptional

The location is not central

Nice and Clean place to stay. Beautiful roof area with view in the morning and sunset. Great host and rate!

Peaceful place. The family was very welcoming and the staff was helpful and kind.

I had a wonderful stay at this guest house! Mohammad was incredibly helpful and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay. The location is perfect for exploring Luxor, with beautiful green surroundings that offer a peaceful escape from the city. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!
