Nice bar & comfy rooms
No breakfast included
Comfortable Room and Easy Self Check In. This was a repeat stay. Will be using again in the future.
It served our needs and had nothing to complain about.
The view from the dining room and bedroom was fabulous. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were disappointed that the music as advertised failed to materialise. Also no extractor fan in the ensuite bathroom.
The hotel is lovely comfortable, the rooms are clean roomy the facilities are excellent 👌
It was my first experience of no receptionist and coded entry to the accommodation and individual room but it worked extremely well. I had communicated with hotel staff both by email and telephone their replies were speedy and very helpful. The accommodation and bar/ restaurant facilites were separate and you have to go out and round to a different entrance the walkway is not covered and I wouldn't like to do that on wet and windy days
The check-in was fine. The adjacent restaurant was good. The room was quiet and clean. Everything required for a pleasant stay
Top Class Accomodation, spacious rooms and very clean. Checking in was easy with clear communications. The Waters Edge is in a stunning location which i would highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.
Nice hotel with beautiful views. Friendly staff. Good location with lots of space and easy to walk into Rathmullan.
Showers might need an upgrade but still working perfectly. Would be good to have more outdoor lights turned off at night but minimal disturbance too.
Lovely location. Restaurant (separate to the hotel I think, and definitely not included in the price of the room) was lovely. Delicious food (breakfast and tea) with a great view and it caters very well for coeliac and other dietary requirements.
Dirty room - thick layer of dust and grime on all surfaces, stained bedsheets and a used tissue on the floor. No staff or reception desk and therefore nobody to help with this when we checked in - in fact we didn't get a response to our email until the middle of the night! We therefore had already had to partially clean the room ourselves before sleeping in the dirty sheets for our first night! Thankfully, somebody did come to clean the room, but not until the following afternoon, by which point most of our weekend stay was over. We were repeatedly ignored and then several weeks later received an aggressive email when we tried to discuss the matter further with them after our stay. We are a no-frills couple, we do not look for or expect luxury from hotels, however, when paying any price for a hotel room – never mind over 300euros simply for somewhere to sleep and shower (the cost of our stay at the Water’s Edge covered only the room and did not include any other amenities, breakfast etc.) - I think it’s the absolute bare minimum to expect the room you're paying for to be clean! I initially thought this may have been a poorly handled anomaly, however having since read through more reviews, it seems that we are definitely not the only ones to have found the cleanliness standards at the Water’s Edge significantly lacking! It appears that the hotel has poor hygiene standards alongside poor customer service, with a clear reluctance to take responsibility for not adequately providing a billed service. My advice – eat at the restaurant but definitely find somewhere else to stay!
The hotel spot is so beautiful , overlooking lough Swilly, the staff are so lovely and helpful especially the manager Sean , he helped me with my bags as there is no lift and i had heavy luggage .
The breakfast was not included in the price , it was bit expensive then . the price for the room as bed only rate worked out expensive with no breakfast especially the room is very basic.
Excellent service from start to finish, staff couldn't do enough for you. Perhaps a fridge in the rooms especially for the summer months.☀️
The view was the only positive thing.
Suppose to stay two nights only stayed one couldn't have stayed bed was very uncomfortable, room was very basic, for what we paid breakfast should have been included in price. Food was not great. I have been to many hotels but never left a review before. Such a shame great location needs alot of improvement to make it better
Easy to find, great parking. Good sized bedrooms & bathrooms. Self checkin & out very straightforward. Great bar and restaurant too. Lovely setting
Everything was brilliant, bedroom very clean and really comfortable. Great view from the window out at the sea.
Location, ease of check in and parking
Loved being on the water
Very comfortable stay, with a beautiful breakfast served overlooking the water.
Can’t say anything negative

Location
Room was basic. There was no luggage rack. We had to put our cases on the floor. There was no chair or dressing table in the room. The sideboard had the coffee station and TV on it. The fire alarm went off during the night. We evacuated to the carpark but there was no staff resident in the hotel to give direction or take a roll call.
Fantastic staff & restaurant manager extremely helpful! The staff could not do enough for you. The food was delicious 😋 compliments to the chef 👨🍳 Stunning views, we were extremely lucky with the weather ☀️🌞 This was our second stay & we will be returning very soon. The tea & coffee facilities in the room were very welcomed.☕️ Slight suggestion a small fridge in the rooms would be amazing. or perhaps just bottled water 🤞
Nothing
No tienen desayuno.
Stunning views , amazing staff, great food and exceptional value
Nothing
Beautiful location, great food and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Bed was too soft but that’s just my personal preference.
Lovely place to stay, staff were always friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable, food was always good breakfast and evening choices were lovely
Toilet kept running, no fan or air con
Amazing views. Perfect location whilst attending a wedding at Drumhalla house. Easy remote check in. Fabulous restaurant.
Nothing at all
Beautiful setting overlooking the Swilly. Comfortable room. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast upstairs (extra charge). Check-in was easy.
Bathroom could do with a glass shower door rather than a curtain. bathroom could do with a glass shower door rather than a curtain.
L’emplacement en bord de mer.
Bord de route un peu bruyant.
Clean, convenient to town and lovely view from the room.
2 nights
The stay could not be faulted. Excellent breakfast after wonderful restful sleeps.
Faultless
The location and scenery draws you in and indeed the restaurant and the outdoor seating area is absolutely gorgeous. The view from our room was also good. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and friendly. Can’t fault them .
So many things . It’s disappointing as this place has so much potential. Bright lights come on around 11pm and stay on until the early hours lighting up bedrooms like it’s daylight. I raised the issue with my contact ( it’s self service, no reception) was promised it would be sorted and despite constant promises and apologies. Nothing was done. I can see it’s not only us that raised this on trip advisor. The bed was so so incredibly uncomfortable- thin mattress, cheap and lumpy- every time I moved the noise was ridiculous. Had the worst 3 nights sleep and no offer of money off by the way or even a complimentary drink. The restaurant on the first evening - food was good- we enjoyed it although my husband’s salad was sloppy and soggy . It was the following night that was unacceptable - I ordered a steak medium rare - asking more on the rare side; it was well done plus I waited 45 mins and was told they had run out of chips! What?? Only fries. Sent it back- it returned still well done- is there a chef there at all???? A steak . No offer of even a complimentary drink or refund. Then the next morning- after another bad nights sleep, we ordered breakfasts- after 10 mins the waitress came out to say they ran out of eggs!! Laughable but added to the absurdity completely- oh was asked if we wanted the breakfasts out tofu or separate- obviously only had eggs for one breakfast at that time as they were hard when they came out ( together). I’ve put disappointing as it is. It needs sorting out asap. Pity really .
Views were amazing and the room was clean. It had everything we needed. Great value for money especially with short notice booking. The room was a good size.
The bathroom smelled a little stale but nothing crazy.
Gut erreichbar
Die Aussenbeleuchtung vor dem Zimmerfenster
Lovely staff, great views, awesome food. Room was very comfy
Excellent location with beautiful views
Carpet in bedroom was stained in several places . Mattress needs replaced.
Location ideal for our wedding event
Didn't feel like a 'deluxe' room, clean but not spacious
Excellent location with a slow 15min walk to the main village. Bar had live music and food was tasty and good value for money, breakfast, lunch and dinner available. Would stay again and recommend to everyone
Nothing
The location is just perfect with beautiful views over Lough Swilly. Super location. Rooms are clean and super comfortable.
Muy facil el acceso a la habitacion
Lovely location. Spacious bedroom.
A little pricey
Very nice hotel nice restaurant nice view food is 10/10 rooms are clean and tidy
Lovely hotel, in a beautiful location, with great views.
Easy self check-in & out Ample parking
Brilliant place to stay, all the staff would go out off there way to help, will go back.
Cleanliness of the hotel.
Great room in a lovely location, right next to Molly’s Bar, where I ended up spending most of my evening with a view of Lough Swilly. The bar had a great menu, friendly staff, and I had a delicious burger after a few beers. Breakfast the next day was equally lovely, sitting and looking out over Lough Swilly. The room itself was comfortable, and I had a really good night’s sleep. A very enjoyable stay overall.
Easy to get to . Lovely views . Easy checkin
Nice location. Good amenities. Good communication. Accommodated our request for early check-in.
Bed a little too soft but that’s entirely personal preference- my husband thought the bed was great!
Scenic.Comfortable bed.
Smell in Bathroom
Kaffeeecke vorhanden. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut.
Zimmer sehr dunkel, weder beim Check-in noch beim Check-out jemand persönlich angetroffen.
Fabulous location, great staff, good food.
Wonderful views across Lough Swilly and great proximity to bar and restaurant.
Lack of reception staff and check in services so there's no one to ask for advice and help.
Room, very comfortable. Views amazing, beautiful setting
Room was very cold
Easy check in for process. Clean room, well located close to Drumhalla and Rathmullan
No blinds on windows on ground floor so needed to have curtains closed for privacy
Nice location, great view and plenty of parking
The beds
Clean and comfortable. Attached restaurant and pub fabulous. Fantastic views
Comfortable bed & the view
A small fridge would be great
View was beautiful and room good.
It’s sort of self service to get keys and return but easy enough
Everything was perfect I couldnt fault anything
Location excellent room great view great
Small stuff fan in bathroom didn’t work & would have liked mirror near hair drier for makeup & hair
Really enjoyed our stay all slept well. Only thing was a window needs fixed.
Window needs fixed.
The view and being on the water. Parking was good.
The bed was worn and uncomfortable. The lock box was impersonal and a hassle. There were plenty of people in the bar who could have greeted us.
We arrived on a busy Sunday but check in was easy as all prebooked & electronic key box available. Strolled into town - around 15 minutes max. Bars were very busy (a rare fine Sunday!) & back for dinner in the hotel. The young staff were very friendly, welcoming & attentive. They are a huge asset to this hotel, which has more the feel of a motel.
