Dune Surfer Inn

Location is great and convenient when needing a place close to the dunes.

Have stayed here for many years, but since ownership change price has doubled.

Das Dune Surfer Inn profitiert enorm von der guten Lage. Es sind nur ca. 500m zum Strand, die Unterkunft liegt ruhig am Ortsende bzw. am Rand des Naturschutzgebiets und direkt neben dem Inn gibt es einen hervorragenden Mexikaner und einen kleinen Shop, der alkes notwendige hat. Das besondere an dem Strandabschnitt ist, dass man mit dem Auto auf den Strand fahren kann und auch ein Feuer am Strand machen darf. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist super, alles ist gepflegt und sauber, das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich.

Das einzige Manko ist, wenn man Probleme nit Verkehrsgeräuschen hat, der Highway 1, an dem das Dune Surfer Inn liegt. Dieser ist in diesem Abschnitt eigentlich bicht stark befahren, aber morgens im Berufsverkehr natürlich schon gut hörbar. Wir waren im hinteren Gebäude und es hat mich nicht gestört. Wenn man empfindlich ist, sollte man dies aber berücksichtigen.

Close to the beach and very clean

It's family owned, quiet, clean and just down the street from the dunes. The family that owns it is super sweet and helpful. It's nothing fancy but during the summer months it's economically affordable. I'm sure we will be back many times.

There was nothing that we didn't like. It would have been nice to have a comfortable chair with a reading light. This will not keep us from coming back.

Customer service was off the charts! Josh and Kayla went above and beyond for our family.

Hmmm, nothing. It was a great stay!

When we checked in asked for a top floor room and was upgraded to a nice room with a kitchen.

Loved that the hotel was walking distance to the ocean. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, had a fridge and a microwave. We didn't use the microwave, but the fridge worked well.

The room could have really used another trash can. There's only one in the bathroom and that can be inconvenient if someone is using the bathroom. And, thank goodness the weather wasn't too cold because the blanket on the bed was thin and there was only one blanket stored above the clothing rack. The room was pretty small, too.

Room was not as expected. Even though we were the farthest away from street, the noise level was ridiculous.

I liked the location of the hotel, but the room faced the street and it was rather noisy and I did not take that into consideration, but would of liked a heads up from the hotel or where I booked.

The floor could have been cleaner, there was a bug and a spider in the room and the noise was bad since we were facing the main street.

There was no carpet in the rooms so that would be the only thing I would have liked.

The room was comfortable enough that the traffic outside wasn't noticeable. Very quiet.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this place. The bed was so comfortable, and the staff here was amazing. Loved the shower, great water pressure, everything was clean and I would definitely stay here again. I think its a great budget friendly option, even though it is still a little pricey on the weekends, but we loved it!

The staff was extra helpful, accommodating with a first floor room. We also received a call each day of our stay asking if there was anything else we might need. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. We often visit family on the central coast and would definitely stay at Dune Surfer Inn again!!

Giving this hotel was rated 2 star, I had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I chose this location to be in walking distance to a California destination that most don't know about.

The walls are thin. You can hear what's going on in the room next to you. Bring white noise.

we rang the bell Many times at the front desk but it took him to respond after I call the number listed. Next time we rang the bell many times no response at all instead after we went to our room and Came back down to ask some coffee creamer the front door was locked and there was A note to ring the bell or call we did not even bother to ring the bell because no one responded at all anyway. I say that’s poor service.

The location was perfect for us. Our family was camping on the dunes. The room was comfortable and clean.

It should probably be noted during check in that servicing the room is upon request.

It’s a great location. Easy to find. It was the most affordable option and I didn’t have high expectations. It was ok for one night:

Noise travels easily in this hotel. I could hear the room next to me, but not a big deal as we also got up early.

Nothing, I felt uncomfortable staying here after seeing how unclean it was

Strong smell of urine in the room. The sheets were stained on the bottom and top sheets, hairs on the pillows. Clearly not changed. Shower head clogged up with dirt. Wouldn’t recommend!
