Beautiful stay in a picturesque location.
Our host and the room were both lovely!
Tutto. Grazie Elaine Della tua gentilezza e simpatia.
The property is well maintained with good parking facilities. The bed was comfortable and the shower although weak was very acceptable. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. A small fridge is available which is big enough to hold a small amount of items. It takes about 5 minutes to drive to Doolin where there is a good selection of bars and restaurants.
Nothing in particular. Please note however that the cottage does not have a kitchen. However it does have a Kettle with tea and coffee supplied which was a nice touch. Be careful driving out from the carpark as there is a bush which creates a blind spot.
Die Gastgeberin war sehr nett und hat uns für 8 Tipps zu Unternehmungen gegeben
Trevlig värd som gav bra tips.
Georgeous setting and private and quiet place to stay close to town and pubs
Nothing
The Old Cottage was a highlight of our stay in Ireland. As we traveled around the country we stayed in some wonderful B&B's, cabins, guest houses, and even a castle. All of them were wonderful and we've written some glowing reviews. However, nothing compared to the authenticity and charm of this Cottage. It gave us the feeling of staying in the Ireland of our imaginations. The Cottage was old and quaint, exactly as one would expect an old Irish cottage to be, but our room was attractive and clean with a comfortable bed and pleasant little sitting room. Our hostess, Elaine could not have been more pleasant and helpful. She's also a remarkably talented photographer. The Cottage was walking distance to town, if you are not afraid to take a 3 km hike,. We also found it easy and affordable to call a local cab. We would recommend The Old Cottage to anyone wishing to experience the charm of Ireland.
The breakfast and the location were very good. There was a fridge with milk, bananas, and chocolate in it. The host had a coffee machine and a kettle that we could use, and provided tea bags and coffee pods.
There could have been a tap (that wasn't the bathroom tap) to drink from, and to fill up the water on the coffee machine.
Sauber, tolle Lage, ruhig, gute Ausstattung

Sehr schönes, sauberes Zimmer. Netter Kontakt zur Vermieterin. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Elaine is a very accommodating host, gave us information for Cliffs of Moher and which routes to take going forward.
Room a bit small, no TV
Elaine is a wonderful host! She made me feel very welcome and provided all the comforts one would need and then some. She was a total delight! The room was lovely, the bed incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was perfect! There was also a little kitchen nook with all you need for a breakfast, which Elaine provided. It was quiet, comfortable and comforting. I will go back in the future!
Location was superb. Cottage was very comfortable. Elaine was most attentive and thoughtful - we appreciated all the treats and goodies in the fridge that helped make our stay most enjoyable..Thank you
The peace and quiet
Nothing to dislike
Cute cottage and lovely host
The host was extremely kind and provided a lot of great recommendations. The appartment was pretty and well located to visit Doolin, the cliffs and the Burren.
The bed was a bit rattly.
Elaine’s cottage is peaceful, clean, and comfortable. She provided great suggestions in the area. I highly recommend her cottage.
nix
Our host was wonderfully welcoming, thoughtful and made lots of great recommendations for places to visit, eat, experience in and around Doolin and also our onward stops which were all brilliant. The traditional music was wonderful and access to the Aran Islands incredibly easy for a day trip.
Nothing l didn’t like but for others, the cottage isn’t really in walking distance to the town but we had a car so it wasn’t a problem for us.
The location was great. We rented a car in Shannon and the countryside drive to this cottage was such a breath of fresh air after our stay in Dublin. It's right up the road from Doolin, where we walked the Cliffs trails and saw some stunning views.
I had a wonderful stay, the host was very friendly and helpful, giving me tons of advice for things to do during my stay and even driving me into town! The house and garden are absolutely lovely, Can't wait to come back!
The cottage had lots of character and had everything we needed. Close to town but far enough away to be quiet & peaceful. Elaine, who hosts the accomodation was lovely and very helpful with local information
A bit pokey and small but just a minor issue.
Elaine was very accessible and provided a lot of thongs todo and see
Cute little property just outside of the village. Elaine was extremely friendly and gave awesome recommendations. There was a little continental breakfast in the morning for takeaway. Perfect for our stop over.
The shower temperature alternated back and forth between hot and cold which was a little challenging, but all in all a great little place.
Great location, friendly and helpful host. Provided light breakfast to get us started, books about the area and a cosy comfortable place to stay
The location was fine and the owner was very nice to deal with and gave us lots of suggestions on where to explore.
There was no table of any kind for reading or eating. A small table outside would have been fine.
Perfect little cottage. Beautiful in every way. I wish we had more time. We didn’t want to leave. Elaine is a fantastic host and we were made feel welcome from the first moment we stepped foot in the door. We will be back!
The cottage is absolutely dear and the surroundings are lovely. The host is lovely and supportive. The cottage is super clean and was exactly what we needed for a small stopover.
The peace and quiet of the location was amazing. It is close enough to drive to the amenities within minutes but away enough to embrace the calm. The cottage is very authentic but has been decorated in a lovely stylish way bringing it up to date. It is very clean, fresh and comfortable. Elaine was a lovely welcoming host. She is knowledgeable on the area so a great source of information. We loved our short stay. So much to see and do in the area.
Nothing
Elaine was wonderful! Such a great host, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. Very quiet and beautiful surroundings. Very close to Doolin Ferry for Aran islands access and cliffs of Moher. Most definitely would stay here again!!
Nothing. Loved it all!!
Very cosy and individual entrance which was so handy. Elaine was very friendly and gave recommendations on local areas to visit.
The cabin was perfect for my stay!

The authentic cottage experience
Elaine is an excellent host. Met us on arrival with a big smile. Had lots of recommendations and chat. The room is lovely and cozy. The cottage itself is 3km from the Doolin of village. We based ourselves here for 3 nights while exploring North Clare. Excellent food options in Doolin village as well as a quick trip across to the Aran Islands

Quiet, comfortable and close to restaurants, bars etc.

A nest with all you need and a really welcoming host!
The owner Elaine was so attentive and welcoming. We arrived is rainy, windy weather. Elaine very kindly drove us down to Doolin and showed us around pointing out places to visit and eat. The room was lovely, warm and welcoming with our own separate area to make refreshments.
Nothing at all it was perfect, very nicely appointed. If anything the walk into town and back was good for us but maybe being closer to the town would help others. The walk back is very dark.
Parking was fabulous. The bathroom and shower were spectacular, roomy and clean. The sink had no counter space and it would be better to have a sink with counter space or something next to the sink to put items. The small refrigerator was nice and the bananas and yogurt were appreciated.
The room is small and you have to be careful with plug-ins and walking around the room. It is better to stay here if you are a couple rather than with a family member as the bed is a double bed not a queen/king. It was driving distance to town.
Beautiful room in a lovely cottage.
The cottage is very close to Doolin and the Cliffs. This is a great location to explore those and the nearby Burren national park. Elaine was really friendly and gave us great recommendations what to see including a hike to the cliffs. There was a small self serve breakfast including all you need.
The room tends to be a little cold, but there are warm blankets available
The cottage was gorgeous! Our host was awesome at give us recommendations and things to do locally. The pub she recommended was mcganns and the food was great, the vibe was unreal and the trad music was sensational. We had a amazing stay
Elena was wonderful and so helpful. We will be back to visit again. This location has a great shower and amazing location to the Cliffs.
Lovely property and the host was very nice. Great location as it is a short drive to the Main Street in Doolin.
Elaine was so friendly and even left bits out for breakfast and tea/coffee. The room was so clean and private within a gorgeous setting and a close drive to everything.
You do have to drive in and out as taxis weren't easily available, which was out of Elaine's control. It's a 5 min drive to Doolin but a 49 min walk.
Elaine was an exceptional host. So kind and gracious and made us feel taken care of.
Everything was perfect and Elaine is such a good host we loved it just what we wanted
We liked everything and would certainly return there
Beautiful, tranquil room. Gorgeous decor, extremely clean, comfortable and positive experience. Elaine was lovely.
Great location and great host
Elaine was v helpful even dropping us to the pub.
Clean warm space, with all you need to get rest. We stayed for 1 night, had a late check in. In the morning we was enjoying with lovely weather and sun and hot tea.
Perfect Room. Clean, organized and everything works perfectly. Elaine welcomed me very well and was very helpful. I recommend this room to anyone who wants a clean, calm and cozy place
If you want that home feeling in the middle of nature, try the Old Cottage.
The cutest little gem way off the grid - you'll definitely need a car to get here and to enjoy the surroundings. The room is small, but well equipped, with a little fridge, snacks, internet, own bathroom and a cosy bed. It's all very clean. The owner, who lives in the same house, in a separate section, is gold and full of recommendations on what to visit and do. We walked down towards the beach as she recommended and were rewarded with the most wild and beautiful sights - thank you!
Internet is sometimes a big flakey - not astonishing though as it's using starlink due to it's remote location. We would have appreciated a second rug in the bathroom to not have very cold feet when using the toilet or brushing our teeth.
Very friendly and welcoming host who gave us lots of tips for places to visit including walks close by. Comfy, cosy room, very clean, lots of tea & coffee available plus breakfast items (which we actually took along with us to snack on during the day). A great base to explore the beautiful County Clare.
Very minor point, but the sink in the bathroom is a bit small, making it hard to fill the kettle.
Completely off the grid - no service or wifi. So nice to disconnect. But be sure to have your taxi’s pre booked and dinner reservations made. 30 minute walking distance from Doolin village. Tea/coffee and snacks left out for us. Elaine the hostess is such a lovely woman.
It was so attractive and clean and Elaine was so helpful
Nothing not to like, so close to Doolin & Burren coastal drive
Lovely cottage, very clean
Nothing, I would move in tomorrow!!
Elaine is a really friendly host and gave us great advise what to see and where to go. The room is beautiful and clean. We would always recommend to go to the old cottage.
Breakfast not provided but we were glad of the tea and coffee facilities.
More towel rails in the bathroom would have been helpful.
Friendly owner. Gave me a lift into the village - her own suggestion!
Accommodation whilst modern and clean was very spartan. The bathroom sink was tiny, leaning over to brush teeth meant hitting my head against the mirror behind it. No wifi, no television or radio. No breakfast other than a carton of yoghurt and a brioche from a packet. Very poor value for money.
Elaine our host was fantastic, very friendly, and very helpful ….also gave us plenty information about the surrounding area and hot spots …
