Hotel Coral Bay

We had a lovely stay at Coral Bay Hotel. The location is beautiful and peaceful, with the beach nearby. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed our stay!

The beds are very comfortable, air con works great, location on the beach is great and staff are very friendly and helpful. The beach sun lounger huts are great.

The bathrooms are absolutely horrendous and in need of a urgent refurb. There was rat poo all over our bathroom. The staff did clean this instantly upon request but this should not have been acceptable for check in. The shower drain is not sealed so water washes back up this. This caused more noise/rat poo to wash back up every morning and the bathrooms smelt really bad. There is no toilet paper given in bathrooms. The bar does not have much stock at all. All the spirit bottles are just there for decor, they are literally empty. The pool is in a sorry state, the water is cloudy and has a funny smell to it. The grounds are not very well kept at all and need daily maintenance. Rooms are not serviced at all during your stay The cost of the hotel is not worth it for the sorry state the facilities are in. If the price reflected the state of the hotel it would be fine but it is expensive for the state the place is in. If they refurbished the bathrooms and put some effort into maintaining the hotel this could have the potential to be a very good hotel.

Great place to stay, location is perfect, right on the beach, Hotel has its own restaurant plus there are restaurants up and down the beach. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, I will stay here again next time I come to Nilaveli.

The location was absolutely beautiful. And we had the dinner at their restaurant which was with the beach and food was super tasty and an at night view is cool.

Room is not comfortable enough for the money we spent. Bath room door was broken. AC is not good enough to cool the room. Also facilities are not good too.

I would not recommend the restaurant - they wanted to sell us the fish for 10x the price it should actually cost, then the fish was bathing in garlic (2 days aftereffects) and service time was around 2 hours room is rather small and the bathroom was a bit shabby

Die Lage ist fantastisch! Zimmer mit Meerblick direkt am Strand. Abends tolles Restaurant am Strand mit fangfrischem Fisch.

Beachfront location is excellent. Great Sri Lankan breakfast. Very strong WiFi which even worked on the beach.

Right on the beach ⛱️ And just a short beach walk to cafes nearby, so you had more choices for meals and drinks. If you want to go further into town Uppervalli or Trincomalee for Supermarket goods OR more cafes /restaraunts then a taxi or tuk tuk is required. Staff were happy 😊 and accommodating. And could not do enough for you. The pool at accom. to cool us off after the Pidgeon Island 🏝 snorkelling excursions was welcomed We stayed for 3 nights and It was a pleasant stay

Cold water showers in the accommodation But, I did get use to it eventually... Many items listed on Booking.com website were not at the accommodation

Honestly, I don’t understand the lower ratings/reviews of this place. We’ve been on a road trip through Sri Lanka and, despite this having the lowest rating of all the hotels we booked, I would say this is easily the #1 place we’ve stayed so far. Key highlights: * The location! DREAMY. We walked up and down Nilaveli Beach for hours and, while there are other beach resorts, not one feels quite like this. Very, very few guests, AMAZING views of the sea from your room and the pool, and a private beach… There isn’t even a fence between the pool and the beach, so it just feels like one flows into the other. It honestly feels so exclusive. We FELL in love with the whole area. And if you walk along the beach for a few minutes, you can find pretty much anything you want: kayaks, jet skis, boat trips to Pigeon Island, surfing, snorkelling and scuba diving. So much to do! * Their beach restaurant. Not only is it super cute with amazing vibes, but they also offer fresh fish and seafood BBQ every night. Oh!!! We were planning to go down to Trincomalee for dinner one night, but we just kept coming back to the hotel instead. We loved it! Their breakfast is also the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far — incredibly abundant and SO good. * The staff. So attentive and kind! They really go above and beyond for their guests, always with a smile on their faces :) The room was also super clean and well presented. Compared with the other 3-star hotels we’ve stayed in, this was far superior to any of them. TV, FRIDGE (!), working electrical sockets on both sides of the bed, comfy bed and pillows, and a perfectly good shower with good pressure and hot water. Some reviewers complain about the maintenance of the pool, but the issue with the drainage covers around two edges of the pool is actually because the drainage hole was built slightly wider than the actual drainage grating, so if the covers move a little, they can fall down.

My only “complaint” is that I think it would be great if they could serve breakfast a little earlier than 8 AM for early birds like us who like to start our water activities early. But honestly: you’re in Sri Lanka, staying in a 3-star hotel - not a 5-star luxury resort in the Maldives. Be fair with your expectations and your reviews!! This was a a DREAM STAY.

Right on the beach for easy access, all accom on ground level, staff very friendly, food options were great, the beach was lovely and peaceful, perfectly located pool overlooking the beach (without any street vendors or beggers handing around). Deepan the chef also went to great lengths to make special sri lankan breakfast specifically after discussing with us. Dinner seafood options were great.

We absolutely loved the spectacular location. The beach was quiet with only a few beach beds and the beach bar (no music, just nature). The breakfast was very good, a lot of variety to choose from, as was the beach bar, however calculate around an hour for service time.

The service was very very slow, for anything really. The rooms in 3 nights there were never cleaned, not even once. The bathroom was tiny and the shower was open, the water was cold + low water pressure.

De hygiëne in de kamers liet te wensen over. De badkamers zijn gedateerd. Er waren mieren in de kamers. Prijs kwaliteit is niet in balans.

De locatie is geweldig. Privé stand met zwembad. De huisjes staan zo’n beetje op het strand. In de avond lekker bbq-en in het restaurant op het strand. Personeel is heel aardig, behulpzaam en doen echt hun best om je met alles te helpen.

De kamers en alle andere faciliteiten zoals het zwembad hebben echt een opknapbeurt nodig. Er is geen gasten toilet bij het restaurant en het personeelstoilet is echt heel ranzig. Deuren en ramen van de kamer sluiten niet meer, de badkamer stinkt naar riool lucht en alles is niet echt schoon te houden.

They are all things I can tolerate but want to make you aware of a few things that the hotel could greatly improve on which would make this hotel super and it wouldn't take much effort: - get the staff working on fixing and maintaining the bathrooms and overall facilities when it is quieter during the day. They l seem to be lounging around a lot whereas the Manager could be assigning them purposeful duties. - offer to clean rooms and supply fresh towels, water etc at least every second day. - improve on their breakfast menu. The breakfast is the same everyday. It would be nice to enjoy variety every day. - maintain premises and retile around the pool. - invest in a proper coffee machine. - improve on water pressure in shower.

The property is at an excellent location, right near the Nilaveli beach. It is extremely peaceful and perfect for a relaxed holiday. The staff is extremely helpful. Since I was travelling solo, they made sure that everything is taken care of and made it a good experience for me. The manager also helped to get me a safe and trustworthy guide for pigeon island snorkelling. Overall good experience.

Velmi mily personal, ale vybaveni ubytovani je spatne, rozbity kohoutek v koupelne, chybejici supliky ve skrince atd. Nicmene vyborna poloha primo na krasne a klidne plazi.

Excellent property! Loved every bit of the stay. Just be watchful of the room doors, as insects and frogs might come in as the property has massive gardens. Overall, fantastic property for all kinds of travel with family, friends, couples.

Lovely pool right next to the beach. Great location. Staff were lovely. Sri Lankan breakfast was great. In easy walking distance of beach bars and restaurants.

Plumbing wasnt the best. Bathroom a little dated. But manged to shower.

Отличное расположение! Красивая и большая территория, много зелени, можно понаблюдать за пальмовыми белочками). Бассейн чистят. Прошли все побережье пляжа, это самое лучшее и удобное место. Чистый пляж, удобные лежаки на самом пляже, напротив отеля нет лодок, можно лежать и наслаждаться красивым видом на океан. Первые дни практически не было людей, тишина и шум волн, особенно вечером. На выходные приезжает местное население с семьями отдохнуть и отметить свои праздники. Но это разбавляет отдых, познакомились и пообщались! Персонал отзывчивый , всегда улыбаются, спрашивает все ли хорошо, старается быстро мочочь если что нужно. Завтраки хорошие, есть все что нужно, единственное если европейский, то постоянно омлет( вкусный) , но иногда можно чередовать с обычной яишницей, или спрашивать отдыхающих что лучше. Но это не критично, в общем есть и фрукты и сосиски' чай или кофе.. Так как при отеле ресторан, можно заказать еду в любое время, и обед и ужин. Магазинов в округе мало, но есть и вода и соки и все необходимое. Перед этим были в других локациях, это самое спокойное и тихое место. Рекомендую при выборе отеля на Нилавелли. Желаю процветания хозяину и его отелю! И всего хорошего персоналу! Спасибо! ❤️

Het uitzicht was super, je staat de direct op het strand.

De accommodatie was niet alleen verouderd maar ook erg erg erg vies. De badkamer stonk, de bedden lagen helemaal door en de airco wil weleens weigeren.

La ubicación es perfecta. Además el personal es súper amable. Comimos todos los días en el hotel y muy bien de precio. No había nadie en la playa. Fue increíble.

Amazing staff, welcomed by mr Mubarak and treated well by all thereafter! Great location and good on site food and drinks at fair prices. Early arrival was accommodated, which is much appreciated after a night flight and 5h drive.

Lage direkt am Strand ist nice. Der Pool sah ebenfalls gut aus. Die Anlage außen macht einen gepflegten Eindruck.

Das Bad war ne halbe Baustelle, alles etwas scheps zusammengenagelt. Duschvorhang hat schon halb aufgegeben und die brause von der Dusche zielt in alle Richtungen. Haben eine kleine Ameisenkolonie in einem Bett angetroffen - haben sie dann vor die Tür verlagert und haben uns für die nächste Nacht was anderes gesucht.

Very noisy, people were playing music all night. Not the cleanest bathroom, smelled like sewer, and shower head was barely working.

We ate the traditional SL breakfast of rice hoppers, dahl and curry as well as the western breakfast (omelet & fruit) both were excellent. The staff were exceptionally kind, respectful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Covered sun beds, that were cushioned, provided much needed relief from the sun while letting us enjoy the ocean sites and breeze. The pool, though it could have used a few repairs to some of the tile, was refreshing and great. Loved our time here. The hotel is actually at Nilaveli Beach.

Zona este excelenta, am avut toate facilitatile de care am avut nevoie. Personalul de acolo a fost extrem de ok, au avut mereu grija sa avem tot ce ne trebuie.

Le personnel, l'emplacement, la piscine a front de mer, le restaurant a meme l'hôtel était bien. Le jus au melon d'eau en arrivant fut le meilleur de notre voyage. Le balcon a meme la chambre ou nous prenons notre café le matin.

Il y avait vraiment beaucoup de fourmis dans notre chambre mais cest tout.

Небольшой отель на берегу океана! Приятный персонал, помогали нам с туктуком и экскурсиями. Завтраки отличные! Прям вкусно Рядом с отелем есть отличный дядечка, который возит на лодке на снорклинг - никаких ограничений по времени, ждет пока вы накупаетесь. По отелю - все было в порядке! Да, это не самые новые номера, но никаких проблем не было) А еще у них есть чудесная белая собачка - не забудьте ее покормить когда приедете!!

What a fab place . Really calm and quiet with direct access to the beach , loungers and pool on the beach pretty much . Comfy beds , basic but very quiet and great a/c. Plenty of hot water . Breakfast really tasty . Restaurant and bar on beach serving freshly bbq fish / chicken . In comparison to Uppaveli this place is a total gem for quieter tourists. Often we had the beach almost to ourselves . The sea is super clean and clear and warm . The staff were really helpful and friendly.

Maybe the rooms could be cleaned daily but that seems to be an issue country wide in Sri Lanka hotels . They were cleaned when we asked .

The shower head was broken and there was a bit of a foul smell in the bathroom. Luckily the bathroom in the other room we booked was ok. Lawn on mowed and has grown wild.

Ein grundsolides Beachhotel auf normale Niveau für Sri Lanka. Nettes Personal,super tolle gepflegte Anlage, gepflegter großer Pool,warme Dusche, gute AC,süße Hundis.

Bitte Leute tut euch selbst den Gefallen und macht lieber Urlaub in Europa, wenn euch schon leichte Defekte, ein Fleck auf dem Laken oder ein fehlendes Geländer am Pool stören. Das Hotel ist gut und alle waren lieb und bemüht um uns.

La spiaggia e il mare. Siamo stati praticamente tutto il tempo in spiaggia perchè la camera era tutto tranne che confortevole.

Paghi troppo per quello che hai. Hotel vecchio, brutto e trasandato in tutto. Tenuto tutto male anche i lettini nella spiaggia e nella piscina. Prezzi del ristorante sulla spiaggia alti rispetto ad altri della zona. Stanze e bagno da stenderci un velo pietoso. Lenzuola sporche o macchiate. Aria condizionata che faceva molto rumore durante la notte. Colazione a scelta da un meno e potevi scegliere solo una cosa. Se venisse ristrutturato e poi tenuto bene, sarebbe un hotel stupendo.

The staff was nice and always helpful. The position is amazing, directly on the beach with a beautiful swimming pool that looks at the ocean. The rooms are a bit old, but with Aircon: you can sleep hearing the sea! The restaurant is a bit more expensive than other around, but it serves good food with a spectacular view.

It was on the beach. The welcome was good. The beach huts and situation were lovely. There was a garden to relax in.

When being cleaned the pool water was pumped onto the beach. The AC didn’t work and it took them ages before offering us another room for the night.

Sehr gute ruhige Lage, Liegen direkt am Strand und am Pool. Hilfsbereiter Personal. Wir durften eine Nacht kurzfristig verlängern.

Sehr sehr schöne Lage und Anlage. Wir waren fast alleine am Pool und am Strand und die Liegen sind sehr bequem. Das Personal ist teilweise sehr nett, aber das Englisch Niveau muss verbessert werden. Zum Frühstück hatten sie eine kleine Karte und vor allem die Granola Bowl mit frischen Früchten war sehr lecker. Man darf kein Luxus Hotel erwarten, aber man hat alles was man braucht und es ist ein super schöner Ort um zu entspannen.

Englisch Niveau und Wartezeit im Restaurant am Strand war sehr lange.

We don’t like the beer prices. Beer is 1000 to 1200 rupies. They sell it for 2500 it is like scam, we don’t like that.

Wirklich eine traumhafte kulisse mit dem schönen Pool direkt am strand, ein Paradies, wirklich.

Das Bad war ekelhaft als wir ankamen haben wir nochmal jemanden gerufen der das Bad "putzt" naja. War danach auch nicht wirklich besser. Nach der ersten Nacht haben wir das Zimmer wechseln müssen weil die Klimaanlage Kühlwasser verloren hat, hat über Nacht alles vollgetropft. Die lage ist wirklich ein Traum allerdings gibt's drumherum nicht viel Und für den Preis den wir als Familie bezahlt haben (100 Euro mit irgendwelchen Steuern oder keine ahnung), war die Sauberkeit und generell einfach die Instandhaltung dieses hotels nicht sein Geld wert. Es wirkt runter gekommen und verbollert. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit, so wie immer hier.

El precio: fue de los hoteles más caros que pagamos y no está en trincomalee sino En otra playa a unos 15 minutos. Es más tranquilo pero el ambiente de fiestas y restaurantes está en trincomalee. Además el desayuno no estaba incluido y tuve que pedir para que hicieran la limpieza. El lugar era muy grande y sin embargo me pareció que el personal era mínimo.
