Wonderful quiet camp on a hill, rooms are spacious and clean. Very friendly staff. Private terrace overlooking dunes was so nice. Beautiful place overall!

Our stay at Stargate Camp in Muscat was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect — the atmosphere, the hospitality, the cleanliness, and the overall experience. A special thank you to Mr. Gautan for his outstanding attentiveness and professionalism. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our stay. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The camp was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very relaxing. Honestly, this place deserves more than 5 stars — a true 20/10

We took the shuttle, due to having a tyre blow-out. However if you're an experienced 4WDriver, there's really no need. We did upgrade the shuttle to include dune bashing and sunset later in the day. Highly recommend doing this. The whole experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Do it, you won't be disappointed. The food was excellent and way too much provided. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Even negotiated arrangements on our behalf with the rental company. Fantastic pool to cool off in too.

Excellent, le camp est super et le logement était incroyable ! Tout ce confort en plein désert et très propre ! La nourriture du dîner au petit déjeuner étaient très bonnes ! Le service est excellent et le personnel très sympathique. La route pour accéder au camp en 4*4 est facile, nous n’avons eu aucun problème et le camp vous contacte pour s’assurer que vous êtes sur le bon chemin.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The private balcony was perfect for relaxation, star gazing and watching the sun rise. The staff members were all awesome, especially the camp manager! I was also surprised by how good the food was, both dinner and breakfast, given that we're on a desert. Finally, the activities they provided were all very fun - I did dune bashing with sunset and camel ride. Overall, my experience here was amazing.

Ik miste wel wat sfeer in de avond: wat lichtjes, bv een optie tot een woestijn bioscoop, een optie tot sterrenkijken met wat uitleg oid.

Le camp est situé plus haut que tous les autres camps ce qui donne l'avantage de la vue dégagée. La chambre est incroyable avec vue sur les dunes. De grandes baies vitrées permettent d'observer me lever du soleil tout en restant dans le lit. Le dîner et le petit déjeuner sont très qualitatifs. La piscine chauffée permet de s'y baigner à toute heure. Nous y avons séjourné en janvier et les températures étaient très agréables. La piste pour aller au camp est pratiquante en 4x4. Ne pas oublier de faire dégonfler les pneus à la station service Al Maha qui est ma dernière station avant de prendre la piste. Nous recommandons ce camp qui est plus intimiste que les autres qui ressemblent plus à des complexes hôteliers de tourisme de masse.

Wat een ontzettend mooi kamp in de woestijn is dit! We hebben vaker geslapen in de woestijn, maar dit kamp is tot nu echt het beste. Prachtige locatie op een hoge duin, mooie ruime en luxe ingerichte tenten. Heerlijk en schoon zwembad, met nette handdoeken en gratis water flesjes om te pakken. Ontbijt en diner zijn uitzonderlijk goed voor in de woestijn. Diner uitgebreid en lekker vers en dat geld ook voor het ontbijt. Zeer vriendelijk personeel, een echte aanrader!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Stars Gate Camp! The villa overlooking the dunes was pure magic — waking up to those sweeping desert views was an experience we’ll never forget. The dinner was excellent, and our dune drive adventure with the driver was equally memorable and highly recommended. The host and all the staff were extremely warm and attentive, making us feel truly welcome the entire time. What sets this camp apart is its elevated position above the surrounding camps — it gives a unique perspective and sense of being above it all. Also the shared pool is a wonderful bonus, refreshing after a warm desert day. If you love authentic desert ambience and want a special, once-in-a-lifetime experience, this is the place. We would recommend this stay to anyone travelling to Oman without hesitation!

Everything was great for us.

The location was in a great position, not too close to other camps and not far from the desert entrance (great to reach by rented car). We loved our tent and the atmosphere inside the camp, we enjoyed so much the dinner and the 4x4 desert ride to watch the sunrise in the desert. We loved chatting with Gautam, he ensured our stay was the best possible, we totally recommend this structure among the others!

Posizione favolosa (sopra ad una duna), per contemplare un tramonto o un’alba memorabile. Struttura pulitissima e con eccellenti servizi, personale estremamente cordiale. La piscina riscaldata è una chicca.

La cena, anche se a buffet, è molto piacevole. La colazione, anch’essa a buffet, potrebbe essere (benché godibile) un po’ arricchita.

Tout était bien sauf un point qui n’est pas en lien avec le prix et le standing revendiqué, c’est le repas du soir. Sinon le reste parfait entre la gentillesse du personnel et la grandeur des chambres ainsi que le coin piscine. En revanche il est préférable d’avoir un 4x4 pour s’y rendre car c’est de la piste caillouteuse et sable..

Au vu du reste c’est vraiment la partie repas dommage que ce soit un buffet pour le prix de la nuit. Un service plus personnalisé aurait été parfait

We had an amazing 2-night stay at Stars Gate Camp with my family. It was the highlight of our trip! ​Location & Arrival: Following the manager's instructions, it was easy to self-drive here (following signs to Arabian Oryx Camp and then heading up the dune). The location is perfect because the camp is situated right ON top of the dunes! ​Activities & Facilities: The activities are fantastic! Although the camp offers a Hot Air Balloon experience, we opted for the Camel Ride at sunrise for a more authentic touch. It was the best decision—magical and memorable. The heated swimming pool was another huge surprise! Swimming in warm water in the middle of the desert was incredibly relaxing and impressive. ​Room & Comfort: Our room was comfortable, and we slept very well. The shower pressure was a bit weak, but the hot water was fine. ​Service & Food: We had all our meals here, and everything was delicious. Special thanks to the manager for being flexible with the deposit (accepting credit card) and for the lovely small gift for my daughter. ​Special Moment: We were lucky enough to experience rare desert rain at night! Waking up to the sound of rain on the tent roof was a unique experience. ​Highly recommended for families!

Super locatie op een hoger gelegen deel in de woestijn waardoor je vanuit de kamer een prachtig uitzicht hebt. Men heeft een zwembad en dat maakt het verblijf extra speciaal. Zeker de ballonvaart bijboeken bij zonsopgang want dat is een prachtige ervaring. Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame camp manager.

Rekening houden met het feit dat hier geen alcoholische dranken 's avonds te verkrijgen zijn.

One of the best camp because at the top of the hills and not into the valleys! You can see sunrise and sunset from your room! So kind people everywhere!! I stayed 2 nights and it was amazing and relaxing!

The location is really amazing ! Small camp, on top of the Dune, perfect for sunrise and sunset. Very easy to reach with your own car ( 4x4 ). The pool was much bigger than expected and the water super warm. The pool is ideal to use after sunset. The camp is super quiet as we were very few customer that night. The room was amazing with the view as well and super confortable. I regret not staying more than 1 night. The manager and staff were super friendly. I highly recommend this camp !

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist wirklich toll – auf einer kleinen Anhöhe mit wunderschönem Blick über die Umgebung. Besonders romantisch fand ich, dass man sowohl den Sonnenaufgang als auch den Sonnenuntergang hervorragend sehen konnte. Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und aufmerksam, man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Das Essen war einfach, aber sehr gut und völlig ausreichend. Insgesamt eine sehr schöne und ruhige Unterkunft, perfekt zum Entspannen. Klare Empfehlung!

Frühstück, einfach aber gut!! Wir konnten nach dem Abendessen gemütlich sitzen bleiben!! Sehr netter Empfang, symphatischer Inhaber! Sehr zu empfehlen, wir werden nochmals ins Stars Gate Camp gehen!!

Die Lage auf einer Düne mir Fernsicht. Sehr ruhig und romantisch am Abend. Engagierter Gastgeber, der am Wohl der Gäste interessiert ist. Kleines Camp mit wenig Zimmer, fühlt sich sehr privat an. Gutes Dinnerbuffet

Der Pool des Gästezimmers ist nicht geheizt. Am Tag mag das erfrischend sein, am Abend (November) ist es zu kalt um zu baden. Das Restaurant könnte stimmungsvoller eingerichtet sein, wirkt etwas karg. Die Essenszeiten sind fix, auch das Frühstück. Zumindest beim Frühstück wären flexible Zeiten wünschenswert.

Prachtige locatie, comfortabel huisje, fijn zwembad, vriendelijke staff. Prima met eigen 4x4 aan te rijden.

Kleine minpuntjes... Maaltijden eenvoudig, maar smakelijk, alleen wel wat ongezellig. De zandvlakte voor de deur is eind van de middag niet rustig, maar een grote speeltuin voor dune bashing, quads ed. Wij vonder het wel.leuk om te zien en genoten desondanks van de sunset.

Schönes Camp mit super Aussicht auf Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang. Wir hatten eine geräumige Poolvilla mit gedeckter Terrasse. Wir genossen den Wüstenluxus. Der Manager war sehr kompetent und zuvorkommend.

De service was perfect. Hele aardige mensen en perfecte plek waar je de zonsopgang en zonsondergang kunt zien vanuit je verblijf.

Top Lage, auf einer Anhöhe. So lassen sich Sonnenauf- und -Untergang auch vom komfortablen Bungalow aus geniessen. Es empfiehlt sich aber, eine Autotour (30 min) für den Sonnenuntergang und einen Kamelritt für den Sonnenaufgang zu buchen (90 min). Dies kann direkt vor Ort beim Check in gemacht werden. Das Abendessen in Buffetform war gut, jedoch nicht überwältigend.

Wer das Beduinen- Feeling sucht, wählt wohl besser ein Camp mit Zelten. Die Essenszeiten sind etwas kurz gehalten (jeweils von 7.30 - 9.00).

Traumhaftes schönes Camp mit der perfekten Lage auf einer Anhöhe mit Swimmingpool. Die Zimmer haben alle Annehmlichkeiten eines Stadthotels: Marmorboden, Kaffeemaschine, Bad mit Walk-in Dusche und eine Terrasse mit zwei bequemen Liegen. Hier kann man die unglaublich schöne Sonnenuntergänge genießen. Nachts hat man das Gefühl, man könnte die Sternen anfassen. Der Weg dorthin ist mit einem Allradfahrzeug gut zu bewältigen. Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal.

Das Essen war nichts besonderes. Wir hatten keinen Buffet, weil an dem Tag nur zu sechs da waren. Wir hatten jedoch keine Möglichkeit das Essen auszusuchen. Es gab unter anderem zerkochte Spaghetti mit einer scharfen Soße. Für den Preis hätte ich höherwertiges und landestypisches Essen erwartet.

Super schöne Lage OBERHALB im Tal mit Sicht auf frühen Sonnenaufgang und späten Sonnenuntergang. Einzigartige Aussicht aus dem wunderbar eingerichteten Zimmer auf die Dünen. Der Manager ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Das Bett hat gequietscht und die Matratze bestehend aus einem Stück hat unsere Bewegungen gegenseitig stark übertragen und uns aufgeweckt. Einzelmatratzen gibt es nicht.

Tolles, komfortables Camp. Bei Anreise leider kein Mittagessen. Anfahrt mit 4x4 möglich. Gutes Abendessen - Frühstück ok. Attraktionen können gleich direkt gebucht werden.

Splendida struttura nel mezzo di Wahiba Sands. Le ville sono dotate di ogni comfort, oltre che di una vista mozzafiato sul deserto; pasti ottimi, in particolar modo il barbecue della cena, fatto al momento. La cordialità e la disponibilità di tutto lo staff della struttura ha reso questo soggiorno meraviglioso.

Una struttura meravigliosa, locata nel pieno del deserto omanita. Abbiamo anche approfittato del periodo appena fuori stagione, in quanto la struttura era aperta per noi ed un'altra coppia. Paesaggio splendido e staff altrettanto unico, con uno chef che ci ha preparato delle pietanze a cena e colazione ottime. Eccellente rapporto qualità/prezzo. Possibilità di raggiungere la struttura tramite 4x4, previa riduzione della pressione dei pneumatici al distributore all'ingresso del deserto.

Unser Aufenthalt im Stars Gate war rundum gelungen! Das Frühstück und das Essen allgemein waren der Hammer – frisch, abwechslungsreich und geschmacklich top. Der Pool ist wunderschön und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Lage – einfach der Wahnsinn! Ob zum Erkunden oder einfach zum Genießen: besser geht’s kaum. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und sagen ganz klar: Wir kommen wieder!

Les tentes sont hyper spacieuses, la vue est incroyable ! Les équipements sont tres complets et le personnel est aux petits soins. Ils se sont tellement bien occupé de nous du debut jusqu’à la fin. La nourriture etait incroyablement bonne. Je pense qu’on a jamais aussi bien mangé dans un hôtel. L’hôtel est super bien organisé, notre transfert etait tres bien organisé.

Luxuriöse Häuser in der Wüste

Abbiamo soggiornato allo stars gate camp a settembre 2025, durante il nostro road trip in Oman. A mani basse, è stato uno dei posti più belli che io abbia visto in tutta la mia vita. Il camp è situato sopra una duna, facilmente raggiungibile con un 4x4, quindi il paesaggio è incredibile e molto meglio degli altri resort situati più in basso in quanto si gode di una vista a 360 gradi di tutto il deserto circostante. Le camere sono incredibili, curate nei minimi dettagli con tutti i confort di un glamping di lusso; il personale è stato così gentile da farci un free upgrade al nostro arrivo. Il camp gode di una vasta gamma di attività da poter prenotare in loco, noi abbiamo fatto il Dune Bashing al tramonto, super consigliato! Bellissima la piscina, da cui ci si può rilassare con una vista unica nel suo genere. Anche il cibo, noi abbiamo fatto colazione e cena, è stato molto apprezzato 😊 10/10 nient’altro da dire

El personal muy amable y servicial, nos ayudaron. El lugar es muy bonito y las vistas increíbles. La tienda está muy bien, grande y la cama acogedora. La excursión para ver la puesta de sol vale la pena, es divertida.

No había nada de sobra en la piscina. La lona de la habitación huele un poco a quemado y la habitación huele raro. El precio de traslado desde la gasolinera al campamento que solo son 10 km es excesivo, casi 140 euros ida y vuelta. Teniendo en cuenta que es una de las gasolinas mas baratas, te cuesta casi lo mismo que te lleven 10 km que lo que vale la habitación con media pensión.

Stars Gate Camp is the go to if you’re visiting Wahiba Sands! It’s located on a dune, so you’ll have a nice view from your room, not like the other camps in the valley. The camps has just a few tents, which makes it more private. The tents are very modern, you will have everything you need. It has even an excellent WiFi, but your 5G works as well. Dinner and breakfast are included in the price, both are buffet style, delicious and can accommodate vegetarians as well.

I totally recommend this accommodation — everything was exceptional. The facilities were amazing; we stayed in a room with a spectacular view for watching the sunrise. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was very clean. The staff was incredibly kind and always willing to help with anything we needed. I’m vegan, and when you let them know in advance, they offer amazing food alternatives — they were very considerate and accommodating. The pool was also fantastic — swimming there in the middle of the desert was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Absolutely amazing location at the top of the dune with wonderful views of desert, sunrise and sunset. The accommodation offers private tents that have spacious luxurious room, private bathroom and outdoor terrace with sunbeds to watch sunrise/sunset from them. The rooms have comfortable bed, plenty of seating (sofas, chairs), coffee, tea, fruit basket and some sweets, plenty of drinking water, AC and super soft carpet. There are only a small number of tents so there is only a limited number of guests at a time so it feels very friendly and home-like to stay here. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and offered a lot of options to choose from. The property also includes a refreshing pool with plenty of sunbeds around. There is also an option to choose from additional desert activities, such as dune bashing and camel safari experience. The huge advantage of these activities is that they are organized by the property per request and they are not for big groups, but for you/your group only - so when you go dune bashing, you have the experience only with your group and not with other cars or unknown people. When again in the area, I will definitely stay again at this place!

I had the most incredible stay at this desert hotel ,an experience that blended natural beauty, comfort, and exceptional hospitality. Whether it was coordinating logistics, offering thoughtful recommendations, or simply checking in with genuine warmth, Gautam was the heart of the experience. His calm presence, attentiveness, and deep understanding of what guests need turned a great stay into an exceptional one. Mr. Gautam is the best manager in Oman. His hospitality, language skills and professionalism are outstanding. Food and interiors are just perfect. We highly recommend the dunes tour during sunset with Salem, very skilled driver with humor and great sense of picture photography.

The location of Stars Gate Camp is amazing, the placing above the other camps makes everything more magical and special. The resort is close to a dune and it's easy to walk there to admire the sunset/sunrise/stars. The resort has a pool that can be very refreshing during the hot days if you're not doing any extra activity. Speaking about activities there is also a good choice offered, with some special ones like a private dinner or a stars tour during night. If something is not there, you can always ask the staff and they will help for sure. We did the short camel riding and it was very nice. The staff is amazing and Gautam is a wonderful person, spend some time talking with him to hear some fascinating stories. We had dinner and breakfast included and the choice of food was various and good quality. The staff also managed to prepare us something for lunch when we asked and the price for it was fair. The resort is pretty new, the room was spacious, with all the amenities needed and clean. The view was breathtaking. I definitely recommend this place if you want to escape the city and have a memorable experience, and I would definitely like to go back.

This place is a hidden gem in the Omani desert! A newly built, small resort with a beautiful design, offering comfort and cleanliness at every turn. What impressed us most was how it seamlessly blends luxury with a deep connection to the untouched nature of the desert. The camp is perched right on top of the dunes, so we enjoyed breathtaking views right from our terrace. We’ll never forget the stunning sunsets and sunrises we watched from the dune – it was a peaceful and calming experience.
