Staff is so friendly. They help you immediately with renting scuba gear of scooters. Room is very big and new. Very comfortable. All food is prepared freshly. Nice dog. With only 5 rooms, the resort is very calm and you can really get to rest. Beach is clean no garbage. This is really a hidden gem.

Fue una maravilla acabar nuestro viaje allí, pudimos descansar y disfrutar mucho de todo lo que ofrece, la comida está deliciosa, el personal es muy atento y amable, un trato fabuloso. Nuestros hijos fueron muy bien recibidos, no pararon de jugar en todo el entorno del alojamiento, además de que pasamos horas jugando al 3 en raya con piedras pintadas por ellos y con el tablero de madera 😍. Sin duda volveríamos a repetir. Muchas gracias por acogernos tan cálidamente ❤️

• Было неприятно просыпаться в отпуске под звуки молотка из-за строительства соседнего номера. • Порции в ресторане довольно маленькие. Я ем меньше среднего, но даже мне после завтрака/ужина часто хотелось еще. • Сотрудники ежедневно убирали мусор с пляжа, и было видно, что они стараются поддерживать чистоту. Мусор приносило течением и отель не может полностью на это повлиять. Тем не менее во время нашего отдыха мусора на пляже и у кромки воды было довольно много. • В номере не было фумигатора или другого средства от комаров. В результате нас довольно сильно покусали. • выезд из отеля — в 11:00. Само по себе это не проблема, но добраться до острова можно только на пароме, который ходит всего несколько раз в день. Если вы не уезжаете первым утренним рейсом, после выселения приходится несколько часов ждать следующий паром, а рядом с отелем практически негде провести это время. На мой взгляд, в таком месте было бы логично учитывать расписание паромов

Het hotel is gelegen op zo’n 20 minuten rijden van de haven op een hele rustige plek. De huisjes zijn erg goed onderhouden, schoon, ruim, leuk ingericht met uitzicht op zee. Persoon is zeer vriendelijk en zorgzaam.

It was incredibly relaxing. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. My children loved the banana and chocolate crepes. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The beach itself isn’t as inviting as up north but the water is still lovely and warm.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Sunset Beach! From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such warmth that we felt like home immediately. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. They go above and beyond to make sure every guest is comfortable. The food is fresh, delicious, and clearly prepared with care. Our apartment was spotless. The cleanliness throughout the property is impressive, and the rooms are very well-maintained. We have to give a special mention to Lulu, their lovely dog, who made the atmosphere even more welcoming! If you are looking for a peaceful, clean, and friendly place to stay on Pulau Weh, we cannot recommend Sunset Beach enough. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back!

The resort is located in the tranquil Pasir Putih area, about a 25-minute drive from Sabang town. It’s a relatively quiet stretch with only a handful of resorts nearby, which adds to the sense of seclusion—but also means dining and activities are somewhat limited. There are a few local stalls in the vicinity where you can try simple, authentic food, but getting around requires a bit of planning. You’ll need to rent a bike or arrange for a becak, otherwise you’ll mostly rely on the resort’s dining options. Unfortunately, I found the food at the resort to be rather underwhelming, especially considering the higher price point. One downside during our stay was an issue with the bathroom. There was a problem with the water trap, which had to be removed, leaving an unpleasant sewage smell in the toilet. That said, it’s clear that the resort has put thoughtful effort into the design and upkeep of both the rooms and surrounding environment. The setting is peaceful and has a lot of potential, and I’m confident that with better maintenance and improvements to the dining experience, it could be a truly standout stay.

The staff were kind, the property is immaculately maintained. The food was delicious and the dog was cute :) A very cosy romantic stay in a spacious, clean room.

If you are visiting the island for diving, it is not the closest place to most of the diving sites in Iboih, but if you plan on hiring a bike or scooter, I’d still 1000% recommend staying here.

Super entspannt. Tolles Personal und sehr sauber. Etwas abgelegenen aber man kann Roller mieten. Sehr schön zum Schnorcheln geeignet. Shuttle und Fähre, alles wird besorgt. Hat trotz Naturkatastrophe perfekt geklappt. Selbst der Shuttle in Banda Aceh wurde organisiert. Perfekt!!

Die Lage ist wunderbar. Das Essen ist gut bis sehr gut. Freundliches Personal. Sehr ruhig wenn man will. Sicht auf Meer und Sonnenuntergang. Strandzugang vom Zimmer aus. Direkt vor der Nase ins Meer rein und am Haus Riff schnorcheln, die Vielfalt der Meeresbewohner bewundern. Auf einer Liege im Schatten liegen und kleine Krebse beobachten oder einfach nur die Seele baumeln lassen auf der Terrasse beim Anblick des Meeres oder bei einem Buch.

Das Zimmer war riesig und alles sehr sauber. Alle waren sehr hilfsbereit. Tolle Lage direkt am Meer zum schnorcheln.

Das Resort ist ein richtiges Juwel und wir sind sehr froh, dieses für uns entdeckt zu haben. Die Villen/ Bungalows liegen direkt am privaten Strand, jede mit eigenen Liegen. Die Bungalows haben eine kleine Veranda mit bequemen Sitzgelegenheiten und direktem Blick auf das mehr. In der Villa ist das großzügige Bett, von dem aus man auch das Meer sieht, was für uns der absolute Traum war! Das Bad ist sehr groß und man hat alles, was man braucht. Die Villa und die ganze Anlage ist mit liebevollen Details ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Das Riff vor der Haustür war perfekt zum Schnorcheln. In der Bar und im Restaurant gibt es leckere Säfte, super Kaffee und leckeres Essen. Alle Angestellten sind sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Die Besitzer kümmern sich sehr um das Wohlergehen der Göste, vermitteln Ausflüge, Fahrer und Roller. Wir hätten gerne nochmal verlängert, leider (verständlicherweise) ist es ausgebucht. Wir wünschen euch viel Erfolg, weiterhin tolle Mitarbeiter und wir kommen wieder!

We had such an amazing time there. The owners (and their dog) are so friendly and welcoming. Bungalows located at the private beach are really noce. We enjoyed discovering Sabang by scooter and coming back to such a nice resort.

Wunderschöne Anlage, direkt am Strand. Die Bungalows sind sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, komfortabel und tip-top sauber. Die Eigentümer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Strandbar ist ein echtes Highlight.

Hele schone, mooie en goed onderhouden bungalow. Goede (warme) douche en vriendelijk personeel. Eten in het restaurant is ook een aanrader!

Le bungalow est situé côté sud, ce qui veut dire qu’en juillet-août il y a beaucoup de vent. Pour les plus sensibles cela peut empêcher de dormir. Compliqué de faire du snorkelling ou de rester sur la plage avec les rafales qu’il peut il y avoir.

Our unforgettable time at Sunset Beach Resort What wonderful days we had at Sunset Beach Resort on Pulau Weh! From the very first moment, we felt welcome, thanks to the hospitality of Sarka and Putra. Nothing was too much trouble; they did everything they could to make our holiday perfect. The resort is a paradise for those who want to relax. We had a wonderful swim and even did a bit of snorkeling. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Fresh, full of flavor, and prepared with love. Who knows, we might even return; this was exactly the peace and warmth we were looking for. Thank you, the Sunset Beach team!

The bungalows are big and comfortable. Very nice beds. The beach beds are also nice.

The restaurant was not great. Location is also quite far out so all other places are a 30 minute scooter ride away.

This accommodation was our little corner of paradise on Pulau Weh, I can highly recommend staying here for anyone who is looking for an island retreat. Putra, the owner, is incredibly friendly and will help you with anything you need, from transportation to and from the hotel, laundry, arranging tours, giving you tips etc. You can rent a scooter to easily explore the island or snorkeling equipment for the house reef and the restaurant offers great food for all three meals if you don't feel like leaving your little private beach for the day. The bungalows are spacious and well-equipped, including air conditioning. The outdoors area is beautifully kept and clean. There are only 5 bungalows in total, so it feels very private and personal.

Because it's that pretty, the café is a bit of a social-media-famous attraction. We didn't mind very much, but you will find a couple of TikTokers or Instagrammers frequenting the restaurant area in the evenings. Free entertainment, if you will ;)

Probably among the nicest bungalows in Weh Island with modern and comfortable amenities. Staff was nice and helpful and the restaurant was good! Location is not a negative as the resort is beautiful and the beach is nice, but be aware that this is far away from the typical “touristy” areas.

No Wifi, with the bad 4G connectivity making it hard to plan ahead.

This place is a gem! We’re so happy we had the chance to meet Sarka and Putra—such great people. They’re doing an amazing job with their beautiful resort, and it really shows. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back someday!

The privacy as only guests can access our accomodation area

Overall, the staff was not friendly. We rented a scooter from the resort but they did not follow 24hours as other rental vendor. We are still okay with it. However, they did not mentioned that we need to return the scooter before 8pm on the second day, and only informed us at 7:34pm. We told them that we just arrived at Sabang town for dinner and the distance to go back to resort from Sabang town would take 40minutes. But they just dont care and asked us to pay extra for it. Extremely bad service. The resort doesnt have wifi during our stay as they told us that the wifi doesnt work, and there is no signal or connection at all. If you really want to be disconnected with the world, then this place is for you.

Sunset Beach Resort is such a fantastic place, I can highly recommend it to those seeking a quiet, secluded space for relaxing. They have a private beach with 5 bungalows only. The room is spacious, well-equipped and clean with it’s own porch overlooking the water. The restaurant offerings are wonderfully fresh and the coffee is great. You can snorkel in the bay, rent a scooter or ask them to arrange a diving excursion for you. Lovely service, attention to detail and of course, the prettiest sunsets!

Despite the handicap of my father (on wheelchair), thanks to the great service of all of you with professionalism, we had an unforgettable stay at Sunset Beach Resort Weh. The environment here is very cosy, serene and calm. The meals were great, especially the vegetable and herbs nasi goreng (fried rice) is a MUST EAT dish at Sunset Beach Resort Weh. The overall design and environment are very good. The owner is very talkative and has a very good attitude. Quiet and private.

Loved the sunsets, the snorkeling and the rooms

The beach was a little disappointing youll need sea shoes. However when the sun sets the place becomes a golden paradise.

The bungalow is big, comfortable and clean. You look directly at the sea. The resort is made with love for detail, the lights in the evening are looking so beautiful. The restaurant/bar looks also wonderful and the food is tasty. The staff is really helpful and kind. They organized everything for us, such as a dolphin tour, scooter, snorkeling equipment, transfer and so on.

Only thing that's missing is Wifi. Because there is hardly connection via mobile internet. Normally not a problem at all, but we had to plan our next steps of our trip and for that we always had to change place to a cafe or somewhere else on the other side of the island.

Apart from the female owner, who was quite nice and helpful, the rest of the staff could certainly be a bit more attentive to costumers, especially given the fact that it is at the moment a 5 room isolated resort. We even felt not welcomed and not liked by some of the staff, for some unknown reason. You have to ‘chase’ them for certain amenities (scooter, skuba diving material, planning…), they are not very attentive to the customer in general, and sometimes even a bit rude.

Very nice and friendly hosts, private beach, great bungalow with sea view and beautiful interior, restaurant with delicious breakfast and food - we felt relaxed right from the beginning and this was the perfect end of our Sumatra family holiday with our 2 kids and the best accomodation during 3 weeks of traveling. If you are looking for a hidden gem away from the hustle (but you can still go for diving a 30 min drive away and have a beautiful house reef just in front) - this is your place! By the way, having rather weak wifi is not a problem at all - the hosts plan and organize everything for you and the digital detox felt like part of the relaxation (otherwisr, you can also buy a prepaid card if needed at low cost). We highly recommend Sunset Beach Resort!!!

Sharka and Putra, the owners, are one of the most welcoming people we have ever met. Their kindness and patience with our 3 kids was sooo heart warming! Their puppy, Lulu, was the main attraction for our kids. The whole resort was established by so much passion for local handcraft and an eye for interior design. Food and drinks were excellent! They were also giving us lots of information on culture and history. The beach was beautiful as well, snorkeled a couple of times but don't exspect white sand and azur blue water. The water is very clear but due to the rocks in the water not as reflecting as on other beaches - but loved beach and water there! The bungalows are very comfy and nicely furnished. We had two scooters to get around (diving, Jaboi Vulcano etc). We had a beautiful and relaxing week and would love to come back😃

The owners - Charka and Putra! I miss you already! And Lou Lou the resident doggie- miss you too. The beach was idyllic and nothing beats sleeping to the sound of waves at your doorstep. Everything was so well organised for us and this is just a fantastic place.

Nothing at all. It is a bit far away from “civilisation” if you don’t rent a scooter, but if you want to unwind, relax and enjoy beautiful nature this is the place to choose. Also, if you are reliant on wifi for your work the service can be sporadic although it worked enough to sort transport, visas etc.

We loved it here. Super friendly helpful hosts. Beautiful spot, away from the crowds. Virtually a private beach. We had brilliant snorkeling. Would have stayed another 2 nights, but they were booked out. We had rental scooter so could go out and about and they hire one if needed. Wonderful small guesthouse with very private villas and view from every villa straight out to the ocean. Each with private balcony, and loungers on coastline for each villa. Also home to the beautiful Lulu dog. Highly recommend, lovely courtyard like eating and drinks area. Thank you Putra and Sharka

We had a lovely stay at Sunset Beach Resort. As non-divers, we were looking for a relaxed but comfortable place to stay on the island. Though a little bit away from some other, apparently 'happening' places of the island, we thought it was still the best place to stay. We loved the overall aesthetics of the resort - quite unique and fresh compared to other places on the island - and how easy it was to get everything we needed: from transport to tips about activities, not just locally, but also on the mainland. We loved the variety of food and drink options offered on site - prepared with much love and attention as well as other local restaurant recommendations we were given. The patchy WiFi did not bother us as we wanted to disconnect and relax. The owners are very attentive and inspiring people who clearly put a lot of effort into making their guests' stay as hassle-free as possible. We loved just being able to slow down and hang out, read our books , watch the ocean and play with the resident puppy. A fab stay for couples, friends but even for solo travellers who are looking to unwind. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to be back!

We had a great stay at Sunset Beach. The room was modern, spacious and clean. There is a lovely area in front of the room to relax in with beautiful views of the sea. There are only two rooms and the bar area doesn’t open to the public until late afternoon so we had the beach to ourselves during the day, it was very peaceful and relaxing. There is some good snorkelling off the beach when the tide is high. The food and coffee were also delicious! And lastly, the owners and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Only small things to make what is already a great resort better - it would be nice to have breakfast included in the price and the check in/out process and general welcome/introduction to the place could be a bit smoother.

The place is very private and quiet with gorgeous view at the sea, ideal to relax and enjoy lazy holiday atmosphere. It is within walking distance to a nearby village where you can enjoy a bit of local life. The cuisine at the resort is just great, and the staff is able to reflect one´s dietary needs and requirements + they serve the best coffee on Sumatra and fresh coconuts everyday. The bungalows have big beds with the best mattress ever and hot water. The owners as well as the staff were extremely helpfull with everything and very flexibly and kindly reacted to the change in our schedule caused by flight delay. They arranged for us the transport on the island as well as in Banda Aceh - Irrfan, the driver in Banda Aceh not only got us everywhere we needed when the schedule was tight, but also proved to be a great local guide who showed us all places of cultural and culinary interest in banda Aceh.

If you're looking for a clean and modern place to stay in Pulau Weh, this is a safe choice. The staff is nice and the prices are more than decent. Remember to have enough cash with you, owner charges a damage deposit, but you get the money back at check out if all is ok. Food is also nice and shhh...you can find Bintang here :)

The sea is not so exciting as in other places on We Island. No turquoise waters here.

The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Enjoying the sunset at Bamboo Bar while having dinner is a beautiful experience. Likewise, when you sleep, you are accompanied by the sound of crashing waves which makes you sleep soundly

My stay at Sunset Beach Bungalows was truly wonderful. It provided a serene and tranquil atmosphere, and the room's design was exceptionally pleasing. The dining experience was delightful, and the staff's friendliness and assistance made the trip even more enjoyable.

We stayed there for four nights and loved all about it. The food and the coffee are just delicious! The bungalows are very clean and lovely furnished. The beach ist almost empty all the time and is perfect for snorkeling. It's also possible to rent scooters right there which are in good condition. Last but not least the owners are extremly hospitable, helpful and you can see that they love what they do. Simply a great place to stay in one of the most beautiful spots on the entire island.

The room has great snacks, AC, hot water, a fridge that works full of beverages and ice. Great cookies and brownies. Snorkelling equipment provided, bikes provided. Great company, great hospitality. This is the best place on Sabang! We stayed there for 4 nights in one of the 2 bungalows and it was fantastic! Its decorated stylish, is brand new, and is really clean. The owners are very kind and they will help you with everyting. You can order freshly made food and drinks, the menu is Indonesian with an European twist. Vegetarian/vegan possible if you ask for it. You can rent a scooter, they have watershoes and snorkels.There is a private beach for the resort and the view is stunning. It is a beautiful and quit hotel to chill out and enjoy. If you want to do something, take the scooter to drive around on the island.

The owner is very attentive. They left me a message right after I booked a room to see if I needed any help before getting into their resort. They answered tons of my questions. The food was good and their coffee is the best. The price for the food and drink is reasonable too, knowing how remote the place is. It's the best place if you want serenity and disconnect from the world. A few steps from our door is a beautiful crystal-clear beach. Almost felt like a private beach since there was hardly anyone around. The room was super clean, smelled really good, and was spacious. They even helped to decorate my room to surprise my wife for our wedding anniversary.
