It was easy to find. Comfortable and suited the purpose of our stay.

The service in the kitchen was a bit slow. Maybe consider to request guests to order breakfast the night before so that it’s quicker to prepare the breakfast in the morning.

Excellent value, wonderful professional staff and great pool to seal the deal. This is a little off the beaten track but if you are in the area it is a fantastic option! Great stop off as we worked our way from Port Shepstone to the Wild Coast. Check it out. The manager was especially kind and generous.

Das Frühstück war nicht inbegriffen. Wir konnten gegen Bezahlung unter drei Varianten auswählen. Wir haben dann beim Checkin die große und natürlich auch die teuerste Variante gewählt. Das war so auch in Ordnung. Am nächsten Morgen beim Frühstück hätten wir dann Kaffee und Orangensaft bestellt. Daraufhin wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass wir entweder einen Kaffee oder einen Orangensaft haben können! Damit ist wohl alles gesagt. Nach elf Jahren Urlaub im südlichen Afrika ist uns so etwas noch nie passiert. Nie wieder The Hill!

The only reason I did not score this property 9/10 is because of the poor access road leading to the hotel. No road lighting; very bad grading; not enough signage/visibility at night

The shower only had hot water. TV had WiFi connection issues. Bedside cupboard was coming loose from wall.

Staff full of hospitality, breakfast was superb 👌🏾👌🏾, cleaners are the best as well. Towels were in good quality. Water mhmmmm always hot anytime one wanted to take a shower. Everything was on point ❤️❤️❤️👌🏾 The owners to open another hotel in East London as well, they have best staff and good services ❤️👌🏾💫🤞🏾🤞🏾

Would like one of the standard rooms to have a bath in order to choose whether to take a room with bath tub or a shower, not to have a shower only. Menu can be added so that anyone can know when booking for a room, to be able to know the meals offered in the hotel. Green salad can be improved, the chef offered a small dish of it 🍵🙏🏾🙏🏾

The food was too salty couldn’t eat the food had to return what I’ve ordered and was given pork trotters which was much better the taste was just ok. I have also noticed there Beverages pricing isn’t making any sense which is something that needs to be relooked. Was really disappointed with the food more especially if it’s the first time ordering food then you being served such salty food like that .

This is a gem! They have humble and hospitable staff. The deco is classy. The hotel easily beats many hotels in big cities.

Both room too tight, toilet seat need to be fixed and the position of the TV, a tall guy like me could be easily hurt, it’s on the way.

Gutes Hotel für eine Zwischenübernachtung, sehr freundliches Personal, sicherer Parkplatz hinter einem Tor mit Security. Ziemlich neu (Stand 2025)

Durchschnittliches Essen, Betten waren neu, aber man merkt bei der Matratze jede Bewegung des Partners. Straße durch Tsolo hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen, aber dafür kann dad Hotel nichts!

Our stay was generally pleasant, but a few operational improvements could significantly enhance the guest experience—especially for larger groups. The bar could benefit from a broader variety of options, as staff appeared unprepared to accommodate certain requests. Given that we were a work group, a bit of foresight in anticipating higher-than-usual demand would have been appreciated. Additionally, with alcohol stock kept locked away, replacements for finished bottles were unavailable, which limited the experience. On the facilities side, the limited availability of basic equipment—such as irons and wine openers—caused some inconvenience. While a small number may be adequate for typical occupancy, it becomes challenging when hosting larger groups who require access at similar times. Overall, attention to these details would elevate the experience and make the venue more suitable for business or group stays.
