Amazing cottage surrounded my mountains. The perfect retreat from busy streets. Expect gorgeous sunsets, wonderful dinners from the lovely staff, great conversation with the owner and the best pool views you'll find anywhere. I had the whole place to myself and it was so peaceful. The pool is also clean and a great temperature. There are 2 cute dogs who run around the property playing all day and a friendly cat. There also a great restaurant (Bajo Banana) a short walk away. Note: the road in is very difficult for most cars so bring any snacks/supplies as it's not simple to go to the shops

It was v hot trying to sleep even with the fan on and doors open (nothing you can do about the weather though). I highly recommend staying here :))

Tout était parfait, Laurent nous a accueilli dans sa magnifique maison en pleine nature. Il est serviable, interessant mais reste discret ! Inna est une très bonne cuisinière et est très souriante Cet havre de paix est littéralement une pépite, très peu de logement propose ce standing surtout pour ce prix La décoration est également un plus et Pepita le chien et Melchior le chat ainsi que leurs bébés sont à croquer Le seul conseil : faites attention sur la route si vous arriver en scoot (on est arrivée en voiture c’était parfait)

La casa es espectacular, construida, diseñada y decorada con mucho gusto por Laurent, el propietario, que es una persona encantadora. Nos ayudó en todo y nos contó cosas muy interesantes. El alojamiento cuenta con dos personas de servicio que nos prepararon una cena riquísima e incluso nos hicieron un pastel. Pasar unas noches allí es una experiencia única, rodeados de naturaleza y con todas las comodidades.

Nos gustó todo. Solo hay que tener en cuenta que el camino para llegar a la casa es un poco complicado. Se puede acceder en coche o en moto, pero es un camino de tierra algo difícil. Aun así, vale totalmente la pena, porque eso hace que la casa esté en plena naturaleza, sin construcciones alrededor y con unas vistas increíbles.

Une villa incroyable avec des couchés de soleil exceptionnels ! Le lieu est idéal pour se reposer et la piscine est un vrai plus ! Nous avons adoré échanger avec Laurent, le propriétaire qui nous a beaucoup appris sur l’Indonésie. Enfin nourriture est excellente, je ne peux que recommander !

Superbe maison qui offre tout le confort, de la WiFi à la douche chaude. Elle a des grands espaces ouverts vers l'extérieur et la vue dans sur la montagne est incroyable. Laurent est un hôte très sympathique qui habite le village depuis plusieurs années. C'est agréable de discuter avec lui. Le repas préparé le soir ainsi que le petit déjeuner était très bon. Je recommande !

The villa is amazing with a wonderful sunset view. But most of all, the host (Laurent) is a wonderful person! He made us a delicious diner and afterward we had some drinks together. We forgot our camera (with our honeymoon photos) at the villa, which we noticed in Labuan Bajo an hour before our taxi would bring us to the airport. Laurent rushed to the hotel to give us our camera back on time. I'm so grateful! This shows the dedication he has to care for his guests. Thanks Laurent for everything 🙏

My husband and I had a wonderful stay with Laurence in his beautiful home. The views were amazing! Laurence cooked such a delicious dinner and we had a lovely evening of story telling and getting travel tips around Flores. Wish we would have stayed longer!

The house is stunning and Laurent was a fantastic host. The room we stayed in was beautiful with a comfortable bed and spacious ensuite. There are amazing views from everywhere in the house and plenty of places to relax and read a book. The pool was refreshing and the garden is a beautiful area to spend time. Laurent cooked our meals and carefully catered for our dietary requirements (coeliac). Laurent suggested great activities to do during the day and even set us up with a wonderful driver who was familiar with the area and charged fair rates. The house is located at 600m off the main road on a rocky gravel path, we recommend using Laurent's taxi driver if you plan on arriving by car - he will message you about this before your stay. Other drivers may drop you off at the top of the path and overcharge you. We would absolutely stay here again and couldn't recommend it more highly.

There isn't air conditioning at the property so be prepared for the possibility of a warm night's sleep.

Set in the most beautiful location on the edge of the jungle with a gorgeous sunset. The room was decorated simply but really well and it looked out at the pool and garden. The host made delicious dinner (extra cost) and breakfast. It was a great place to stay away from Bajo. Would stay again.

Noises of animals but that’s almost unavoidable in Indonesia

Laurent has built an amazing house. Its very well built with great detail. The view is fantastic! It gave us glimpse of how beautiful Flores really is

We loved everything! Its good to note that there is no WiFi and actually no connection at all. Also there is only a cold shower and no airconditioning but this was no problem at all for us, just good to know.

Amazing stay and fantastic experience. What an absolute delight it was to stay at room Kalimatan. The house is owned by Laurent- the property is newly built, finished to an excellent standard and interesting design that creates a great space that fully integrates with the countryside. All this within easy reach of the more busy and touristic town of Labuan Bajo. We chose to stay here after a 1,200 KM trip around the island and before heading back to Labuan Bajo and we are so pleased that we did. There is a true saying in Flores and that is that guests are welcomed with open arms and treated like the people’s family. That’s a true description of the hospitality that we received, that went well beyond our expectations. Our room was spacious and the view from the terrace was spectacular particularly at sunset. The bed was so comfortable, we slept with the doors open, there was no need for the mosquito net provided and we enjoyed the gentle breeze and fresh air. The property is rural and consequently there is limited choice of restaurants within easy reach, but this is not by any means a problem. On our first nights stay Laurent cooked us a delicious pasta meal and on the second night we were treated to a BBQ of fish and rice cooked and prepared by Damas. Furthermore Damas welcomed us to a special night of local music played with his hand made guitar which is a night we will long remember.

We arrived at the property on a scooter. The only negative is the road leading to the property and it was extremely difficult to reach. Having said that Laurent did help us and this slight challenge would not stop us from staying here again. We would suggest contacting Laurent to assist when you arrive as on the day of our arrival we really did struggle and we are experienced riders.
