had an unforgettable experience staying at White house group. The rooms are clean and comfortable. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe throughout my stay. Ibrahim helped my plan the perfect visit. Each day was filled with the right amount of sight seeing. He is attentive to detail and goes out of his way to make sure everything is going as planned. The boat ride with Imran was lovely, a very relaxing experience. I also spent 4 days with Gulzar in Naranag. If you have the chance, definitely go on an excursion with Gulzar. He is an incredible tour guide and host. Overall, I highly recommend this house boat especially solo female travelers.

Lovely location, good host, awesome caretaker, lovely boat house property. Home cooked chicken curry with Pulav was another plus point of the stay.

AC. We had to call again and again to the host to turn on the AC once power came back after outage and it ruined the sleep in the morning affecting the quality of stay overall. Regarding power cuts, well that's beyond anyone's control. But power backup to run basic fans and turn on AC needed to be done without asking.

The location was very ideal! They have a designated boat to take you to and from the land that makes it very convenient. The food they provide is very simple genuine home cooked food. We enjoyed the simple breakfast very much.

We had an amazing stay at White House Group of Houseboats and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Srinagar. One of the biggest advantages of this houseboat is its location at Ghat No. 12. Unlike many other houseboats, it is positioned at the corner, which gives beautiful open views of the lake. We could enjoy the lake view directly from our bedroom window, which made the experience even more special. The shikara ride from Ghat No. 12 was also very scenic and peaceful. A special thanks to Mr. Ibrahim, the owner, for his exceptional hospitality. Beautiful views, excellent location, and outstanding hospitality. White House Group of Houseboats stands out as the last in the row on Dal Lake near ghat 12, offering an unobstructed panoramic view of the lake, mountains, and passing shikaras. We enjoyed peaceful mornings and evenings on the deck. Ibrahim (owner) was exceptionally helpful, assisting with our onward travel to Zojila Pass, itinerary planning, and arranging early breakfast. The in-house shikara ride was a highlight, though it's wise to confirm rates upfront. Overall, it provides an authentic, serene Dal Lake experience with excellent service and great value. Waking up to stunning views from the houseboat was a treat. Shikaras are available round the clock, and the breakfast was punctual and fresh.

Dinner was delicious and home-cooked. Room ambience was good. Staff was exceptionally good. Staff Hashim was very humble, soft-spoken, and kind. He provided a lot of information during the shikaara ride.

The area oustside the houseboat can be more attractive and clean.

I had a wonderful stay here. The house boat is charming & very traditional, with lovely decor. & it has an enviable location, right at the end of a row of boats, so all bedrooms have stunning, unobstructed views of the lake. It was magical waking up every morning to see the sun rising over the mountains - unforgettable! But what really made my stay a true pleasure was Mr Ibrahim's fantastic Kashmiri hospitality. He was warm, attentive & went out of his way to make sure my stay was comfortable here. Imran, who helps out on the boat, was also so kind - you must take a shikara ride with him on the lake! Overall, I recommend White House without any reservations - don't hesitate in booking!

Good, safe houseboat, kind owner Mr Ibrahim and staff. This houseboat is at an unbeatable location. We had an unobstructed peaceful view of Dal Lake and hills beyond. Excellent to bird watch and also to watch life on the lake as the shikaras start to move around. Although Mr Ibrahim was in constant touch from the time we booked, he was called away for a family occasion so we met him only briefly. But he was on the phone, always concerned about us. The house boy Imran deserves much credit for managing everything in his absence, from breakfast to the shikara shuttle. Ghat 12 is also excellent, close to everything from Uber cabs to restaurants. Also many points for cleanliness and hot water on tap. Great value in general.

Location, Food and Shikara Ride with Mr. Ashraf.

Service was very poor, Mr. Ibrahim was very interrogative. Water bottles were not in the house boat room literally we have to inform Mr. Ibrahim that please bring mineral water . We have to ask each and everything like Hot water again and again because Bathroom is almost - 4 Degree Celcius. When you book his house boat, Mr. Ibrahim will eat your head after continously messaging you and regular follow ups which I feel irritated. When we saw his dirty water kettle immediately we informed him to change then at night he changed it and we were polite to him but his attitude towards us isn't good. If you are charging around 5000 rs, you must expect basic things like water bottles in the room, hot water need at the time of minus temperatures, there is no tissue paper, provision of Drinking water, Good hospitality etc. At last - I would not recommend this House boat to all my viewers.

We booked the White House house boat for one night, but we extended our stay for two more nights. The location is awesome, it gives a beautiful view of dal lake from the room itself. Owner Ibrahim is very cooperative. Shikara is available even late at night. The most important thing is, hot water is available 24 hrs. The room has an air conditioner which keeps us warm at an even 1 degree temperature. The home made food they provide is also awesome.

Excellent, Clean and well maintained house boat. The speciality of the house boat is its location which has a full view of the Dal lake from our room window. Special thanks to the Hospitality provided by Ibrahim Bhai. He took care of us like his family. He helped us in renting bike, Shikhara ride and provided guidance throughout our trip and even before our arrival to Kashmir. We will definitely stay again with them. House boat was last in the series, hence we had a full view of the lake, which was not available in any other house boat. House boat owner had personally arranged our dinner of our choice. Staff of the house boat was very cordial and helpful. Most importantly the Bathroom were very clean and tidy.

Was a good experience

Stayed by at Ibrahim’s group of white house boats, for three days and two nights. It was an amazing experience and we would rate it in the below aspects: 5/5 - The location was along dal lake, overseeing the open side of the lake. No landlocked view but our windows allowed us to view the sunrise and sunset from comforts of the boat. Extremely scenic and accessibly convenient to nearby amenities, restaurants, cafes, shops etc. Very well maintained, clean, authentic boat house decor, warm and vibrantly colored textile decor, scenic boat house. Despite being on water, no complains of mosquito breeding or faul smell of the surroundings. 5/5 - The hospitality of the owner and the team was very warm, responsive to needs, and informative. Sir Ibrahim had given suggestions on itineraries and transport arrangements to consider from airport and while in Srinagar, along with options to consider. He has contacts of reliable and resourceful locals to host the stay guests. Ensured he was available and waiting for our arrival, to brief and introduce us to the stay arrangements. Ashraf bhai and Imraan bhai had been very communicative, and reliable local assets to depend on for moving around the vicinity - from rowing us across the lake to the city streets n number of times, around water markets (i.e., Meena bazaar, vegetable market) offering in-house service help with meals and water supply. Gulam Cha Cha who had driven us around the city and to and from Gulmarg while offering undeniable suggestions for restaurant options and planning for time of travels. Arrangements such as leaving bags after check outs, and discussions on alternate stay options and price packages were accommodated. 4/5 - Amenities provided were pretty decent. Wifi was available, with occasional power cuts which is not specific to the location but for the whole of Kashmir. Hot water could be requested for unlimited refills.

As this is the last houseboat on that line, it has the best views of Dal Lake. The rooms were very spacious and the property was very nice. The owner, Ibrahim was fantastic. He was very accommodating with changes due to unforeseen circumstances. He also is very helped arranged for anything that we needed: a shikhara ride, a driver to tour all around Kashmir, gondola tickets for Gulmarg (for which he also arranged for payment as we didn't have Indian bank account), and dinner at the boat (which was great).

It's probably the best House boat you can have at Dal Lake. Location of the house boat is perfect @ Ghat No. 12 and opposite Food street. Being the corner most, it has the advantage of wonderful view of Dal Lake. Owner of the Houseboat i.e. Mr. Ibrahim Goona is a wonderful host & gives personal attention to the guests. Breakfast was Limited but sufficient enough.

Room was small.. no heater..stinky blankets.. not worth the money.. After posting the review owner has come up with false statement stating that we broke the bathroom. Absolutely we have not caused any single damage to the property. owner should not opt for receiving comments when they cant take the truth.

1.We had booked only 1 room for 3 days and needed another for our parents at very short notice. Mr.Ibrahim(owner) went out of his way to accommodate us though the houseboat was sold off. 2. The location - unlike other houseboats which are lined up parallel to each other, this one is at a corner giving you an excellent view of the lake and hills. 3. Breakfast was enjoyable, cleanliness in the room was up to the mark, hot water in the shower area and sink tap was comforting,3 warm blankets were placed in each room to take care of the cold. 4. To and fro journey from the lake ghat to the houseboat at any time of the day and late in the night was available and complimentary. 5. Guidance for travelling around , shikara ride at reasonable rate and most importantly a comforting and hospitable environment makes this houseboat a sure come back for me and my family.

We stayed at White Houseboat in April'24 and it was an amazing experience. The houseboat is beautiful and located at a great spot. We got amazing sunrise views right in the morning. The owner and staff is very warm, welcoming and caring. They also provide pickup from Airport and shikara ride. The owner also helps provide a lot of information about Srinagar and arranging a cab for our trip to Leh. Breakfast is included and available at your convenience. Rooms have WiFi and are comfortable. Bathrooms are clean. We had a great stay and we highly recommend this houseboat.

Short boat ride (compared to few other houseboats) closer to the ghat of boulevard road. The view through room window of all the 3 rooms in the boathouse, and also the common balcony front view is b'ful. Rooms n bathrooms were clean. Food is awsm, specially the homemade dinner was fulfilling. They have their own boat for pickup n drop to the ghat. Helped us to check in early as we reached before time.

No cupboard in room which was not a problem for me, but might be for other people. All boathouses are always very cold as they are on the lake, heater should be provided. Though they gave enough blankets. Price felt a bit on higher side, but I think this is due to peak tourist season in April due to tulip festival.

An excellent choice on the kashmirian lake Dal lake. An astonishing view of sun rising from our bedroom. Delicious breakfast right on time home made food tasty and healthy. Mr Ibrahim is a very polite and good host supportive and caring making our trip a dream coming true .

The stay in Ibrahim’s house boat was an experience we will never forget. From the beginning on it was very convenient to stay in contact with Ibrahim and plan every step of our journey. Once we arrived we took a little boat to the floating house and were blessed with a stunning view of the Dal lake and the mountains in the background. Ibrahim and his family welcomed us very friendly. We didn’t have to worry about anything. Boat trips, money exchange, included breakfast or home cooked dinner in kashmiri style, everything was taken care of. In the evening Ibrahim told us the history of Kashmir and its people. An arranged boat took us to floating markets giving us the opportunity to see and purchase amazing handmade crafting. Ibrahims care was more than we could hope for. All in all it was a trip and experience we will never forget. Many thanks to Ibrahim and his family.
