This is one of the many fake postings in Booking.com of apartments in Santiago de los Caballeros. Booking.com shows the availability, but when you make the reservation, it turns out to be unavailable. Depending on when you make your reservation, they might not even notify you ahead of time that the reservation is not unavailable. If you make the reservation early, make sure you talk to the owner ahead of time. There are many apartments like this in Santiago de los Caballeros. I made 4 consecutive reservations at different apartments for the same weekend. I had to cancel 3 of them, because of various excuses provided by the owners. Unfortunately, once you cancel, you cannot post a review. For the 4-th one (this one), we ran out of time, so we just arrived to Santiago de los Caballeros, but the place was not identifiable. Finally, I was able to call the owner, but he said that the apartment is not available. So, again, the posting is in Booking.com as available, but in reality, it is not. We had to find a different place on the spot. Booking.com should fight against this type of practice, but I don’t think they care.
