Indra Manel Family Holiday Resort Kandy

Very friendly personnel and especially an amazing location! The room was good and the swimming pool & view is stunning. The food was very good & because we were taking the early morning train to Ella, we got a very nice breakfast to-go.

El hotel está en un sitio precioso y la piscina estaba muy limpia. La comida del restaurante muy rica y a buen precio. Nos dieron el desayuno take away porque salíamos antes de que empezase. Nos consiguieron coche para ir al día siguiente a nuwara eliya.

La limpieza en baño podría mejorar. Las personas de recepción aunque eran muy amables no resolvían nada. Siempre tenían que llamar al manager para todo y aunque hablaban inglés eran tímidas y no se atrevían a hablar.

Fijn zwembad en ruime fijne kamers. We hadden een lekkage maar kregen direct een andere kamer.

Het was erg verlaten, er waren bijna geen gasten waardoor de sfeer in zo'n groot hotel er ook omlaag ging. De omgeving was prachtig maar wel echt ver weg van alles.

Ten eerste het zwembad. Losse en afgebroken tegeltjes leidde tot sneetjes in handen en voeten van de kids. Toen ze de volgende ochtend zwemschoenen aandeden, mocht dat niet... En dat is precies wat er met dit hotel aan de hand is, alles is verouderd, gammel en vooral een beetje viezig en smutzig: lakens heb ik laten verwisselen vanwege bruinige vlekken. Ontbijtafels en stoelen en tafelkleden waren vies en vol vlekken. De watermeloen die geserveerd werd was overrijp, etc etc. Zonde want het hotel heeft met een beetje inspanning genoeg potentie. We hadden een kamer met twee 1persoonsbedden: hard.en dunne matrasjes waar je de veren doorheen voelde. Dicht in de buurt van de receptie dus lawaaierig en veel licht in de kamer (raam boven de deur) Kortom, na 1 nacht weer uitgecheckt ondanks dat we 2 nachten geboekt hadden

Amazing place with a beautiful view on the forest and river. Staff was very nice. Nice swimming pool.

The bathroom had issues with humidity (was visible on the walls).

Het uitzicht en de kamer waren mooi. Het eten was prima en betaalbaar. Het personeel was super vriendelijk.

De bedden waren erg hard. Het ligt best afgelegen. Het douchewater loopt door de hele badkamer.

Lovely setting, had breakfast overlooking the river and could see lots of birds down by the water. Room was big as was bathroom, for that price bracket really good value for money . We could t understand why the hotel was so quiet as the rooms were good, the staff were great. And the food was really nice too .for us it was perfect as was away from the hustle and bustle of citylife

Few small maintenance issues that could be looked at but nothing that would stop you from booking. Didn't have hot water in the shower but was particularly warm day so didn't bother us

This was clearly once a very grand hotel but it’s a little worn around the edges. Stunning view and a beautiful pool. Staff kindly offered to make us breakfast packages (good chicken sandwiches) since we had an early start.

It’s kind of a strange place… Our double room was literally right next to the reception desk and opened directly into the lobby which was kinda disconcerting… the bath mat was a bit dirty and hot water was hard to come by. Things were not improved by a very loud and drunken party by the pool which kept us up til past midnight and staff were apparently unable to do anything about it except be very apologetic.

Building work started at 5.30am and continued past 9pm which made sleeping difficult. There’s a window above the door which lets in all the light from reception in, again making it difficult to sleep. Reception area noisy on an evening, making it difficult to sleep. Woken up by dogs fighting outside the hotel both nights we stayed.

Great location, views are great, nice pool, staff were great, especially Primita. Food is very good price so you don't need to leave the hotel. Thanks everyone

It's a nice place with a nice view from the swimming pool place. The room was big and the bathroom fine. The staff was kind and very helpful.

The hotel is a nice building but we felt like it's missing a 'soul'. It is a building with a lot of potential which hasn't been used. It feels a bit unpersonal and as if it ones had glory but lost it mostly. It tries to look chic. It can be very chic or more modern chic. The English breakfast is not what you would expect of this hotel and price. The Oriental breakfast is much better. A lot of people come to make wedding pictures. Because of this we couldn't swim in the morning unless we would disturb.

This amazing resort was my safe haven. I was a solo traveler, with no travelling experience in Sri Lanka at all. The staff here went above and beyond to accommodate for all my requests. The property and views were completely breathtaking. I can honestly say, the food was the best I had during my entire time in Sri Lanka. It was authentic, fresh and for a food lover, an experience I cherish.🙏

The resort is located in a wonderful place with some breathtaking views. Even the landscape arrangement around pool area provides a calm, natural vibe. The building is bit old, but it manages to provide the service up to a customer satisfactory level. All the facilities are functioned well except the dialog tv connection in our room.

Its better to upgrade the bed mattresses.

Kandy was our fourth stop during our 15-day tour of Sri Lanka. The city itself we did not like much because it's so busy and filled with exhaust fumes. It is for this reason that we decided to stay a bit outside of the city, closer to nature (Knuckles Mountain range). Driving our own tuktuk, we had the freedom to move around at our own pace. Most of the accommodations we stayed at during our trip were small scale. Indra Manel Family Holiday Resort was the exception to the rule. It's a proper hotel. At the time we stayed here (20-22 March), the place was as good as empty. In a way it's nice and quiet, yet it also felt a bit deserted. Nevertheless, the staff did their utmost best to make us feel welcome and cook up a nice breakfast, which we enjoyed on the terrace near the pool. Mind that, if you feel like having a drink at night, you are quite far away from everything. We found a nearby place (Shanaka Beer House, 15-minute walk) to have a cold Lion. It was not often they received tourists and with my girlfriend, the very first time they had a female visitor :-). Summarized: if you have your own transport and prefer to stay outside of the city in a well-maintained accommodation, Indra Manel Family Holiday Resort is a hotel we recommend.

Very nice place, professional and very friendly staff. They helped us finding a nice an honest guide to Kandy too. The view from the garden is beautiful. The breakfast served was more than abundant.

Humidity in the room makes a bit of strange smell that's difficult to get rid off.
