Unique Old Stone Cottage

The owner of the property Mícheál went above and beyond to make my Mom and I feel comfortable. Such a cool guy! We loved hearing about his family’s history. The tour of property was so helpful. We unfortunately had a rough journey to the cottage. A tire in our car blew out on our way through Kerry. Mícheál picked up our pizza we ordered and helped us calm down a bit. This property is breathtakingly beautiful! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! I’ll definitely be back.

Wat een geweldige plek om een paar dagen te blijven. De cottage is van alle gemakken voorzien, het uitzicht is ongeëvenaard en Micheal is een zeer vriendelijke gastvrije eigenaar die met veel hart voor de cottage het heeft ingericht. Rond de cottage is een indrukwekkende, mooie tuin waar duidelijk veel tijd en aandacht aan is besteed; Micheal doet het allemaal zelf! Een paar keer naar Derrynane beach geweest, eind van de middag. Daarna een Guinness om af te sluiten met het uitzicht bij de cottage. We komen graag een keer terug.

We zouden het niet weten; alles was uitstekend verzorgd met veel liefde en toewijding.

Le nom 'unique old cottage' est particulièrement bien choisi, notre séjour était superbe et difficilement à égaler. Une vue incroyable, un décor raffiné et un accueil, comme on le souhaite, avec beaucoup d'attention, gentillesse et informations. Le landlord a en plus une grande connaissance approfondie de la région. Génial !

Peut-être aménager une armoire à la place de la commode pour pouvoir suspendre quelques vêtements.

From the moment we arrived, it was a **10/10 experience**. As we stepped out of the car, the only word we could say was **"Wow!"** Old Stone Cottage is even more beautiful than the photos suggest – they simply don't do it justice. Perched on a hillside with the most breathtaking panoramic views across the Atlantic, it's one of those special places that instantly makes you relax and appreciate where you are. Michael is the most charming, welcoming and genuinely friendly host you could hope to meet. Nothing was too much trouble, and it was obvious how much love and care he puts into both the cottage and its surroundings. His beautifully maintained gardens are a credit to him, and he has thoughtfully created three separate outdoor seating areas so guests can enjoy the sunshine at different times of the day. It's those little touches that take a stay from excellent to exceptional. The cottage itself was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, comfortable and full of character. We only stayed for one night, but we genuinely wished we had booked for much longer. We will most definitely be returning. What a cottage, what a host, and what an unforgettable place. Old Stone Cottage made our trip to Ireland truly memorable, and we couldn't recommend it more highly.

Everything was exactly as the pictures portrayed. The beauty and serenity of the cottage and gardens were exactly what we needed!

Great communication with the host. The property is in such a beautiful location, the garden and the property is remarkable. So very cosy and a much needed break from social media in such a beautiful environment to relax. A short 5 min walk to a beautiful beach and if you have clear skies the dark sky reserve this property is located in is incredible for those who love to look skyward and ponder about one’s place in the universe!

There is nothing about the property I could fault! Maybe adding a long length mirror would be a good idea but honestly that is just a small detail. Everything was excellent!

A charming cottage right on the Ring of Kerry with the best host you could ever ask for!

Not a thing!

It is true if you are renting or buying, location, location, location. The setting of the Stone Cottage is superb. There are many local sights to see and a few local pubs that are lots of fun. If you are lucky enough to meet a few locals, the conversation is intriguing. If you expect a marble floor in the bathroom, look elsewhere. The cottage is very old but has good heat and well insulated. We had a very comfortable 3 night stay with Michael. He was a great host willing to accommodate his guests in any way possible. He is very knowledgeable about the local landmarks and the people of the area. Michael has created some of the nicest gardens that I've ever seen on private property. He has 3 different sitting areas to read a book or contemplate the landscape. To my wife and I, this was an authentic Irish experience.

Prachtige locatie. 2 kilometer van de Kerry Way, maar de moeite waard om extra te lopen. Geweldige accommodatie met fantastisch uitzicht. Mooie tuin waar je heerlijk kunt zitten. Als je geluk hebt komt de hond van de buren een aai halen. Zeer gastvrij ontvangen. Een aanrader!!

Michael was an incredible host full of knowledge and exceptionally hospitable, it’s such a sacred place full of handmade touches, it’s a little hidden gem that every couple should experience once in this lifetime, we will certainly return, 10 stars ⭐️

This is a hidden gem. Absolutely stunning location with breathtaking views, Michael, the host caters to all your needs. The surrounding area is full of beautiful locations to spend hours. We would definitely like to return in the Summer

Het is een zeer mooi en rustig gelegen huisje, omgeven door een prachtige tuin, waar je bij mooi weer heerlijk buiten kunt zitten. Het is goed onderhouden en super schoon. Micheal is een erg aardige gastheer, die veel over de omgeving kon vertellen.

This place is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! The owner is one of the friendliest people I've met during our trip. He's created an oasis retreat to share with others. If you can find an opening in the booking schedule, choose this place! Everything about it is perfect!

Toller Host, der uns mit dem Motto „feel like home“ begrüßt hat. Der Garten rund um das Cottage ist traumhaft. Noch besser macht es der Meerblick (ca. 5 Gehminuten zum Strand). Ein Ort der zum Verweilen und Entspannen einlädt.

Eine Traumlage mit Traumgarten zum verweilen. Das alte Steinhaus ist mit Liebe renoviert. Der Vermieter ist sympathisch und zuvorkommend.

The setting is exceptional with a beautiful gardens and, if you do the short walk through the pasture to the top of the hill above the cottage, far reaching and panoramic views. A well equipped and attractive cottage, making it an ideal base for the many attractions in the area, added to which a welcoming, friendly and informative host - thanks Michael.

Personal preferences - could do with one easy chair in the living room area to ease old bones and directions from main road if cars Sat Nav is rubbish and phone runs out of battery!

This was one of our favorite stays on our trip. It's perfect for a couple, in a great location along the Ring of Kerry. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and the cottage is set up perfectly for a night or few honestly. There are a few restaurants and small convenience stores within 5-10 minutes drive. The host very extremely helpful, and we were able to stay in contact to let him know we were running a bit behind schedule and he was still there to greet us and was very lovely. On clear days, you can sit out on the deck or patio and look out at the sea. There is also a nice beach about a 5 minute walk down the road.

Micheal was a fantastic host, so helpful in showing us around and advising us of nearby beaches/places to eat. The house was spotless and charming, with a terrace and bbq. We basically had a private beach during our stay too! Would highly recommend this idyllic cottage.

Beautiful garden and amazing view! The perfect drive for those who want away from the busy cities! We were very fortunate to have stayed while the skies were clear and all the stars were visible! Micheal was very welcoming and an amazing host!! I cannot express enough the amazing work he has done to have such a beautiful property. Loved the bee habitat too!

We wanted to detox from the screens and noise of our town, so being here was perfect. You need to have a car to get around as there are no shops close which didn't bother us one bit. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

The place was amazing. On the inside, it felt very cozy and then you walk outside to the most gorgeous view. We went in the off-season, so there were no tourists, and a lot of shops were closed, but it was very enjoyable.

We stayed for only two days and took a bus there and loved it but I would definitely recommend renting a car if you plan on staying.

Micheal was an excellent host- he made us very welcome! You can easily see the care and attention he paid to every detail to make for a pleasant stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated, very clean and nice and cozy! It was exactly what we were hoping for on our cozy winter holiday!

The place is surrounded by a gorgeous garden with a beautiful view, it’s so peaceful! Michael is a wonderful host, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Loved the well equipped kitchen.

A table in the main room would be nice to have a meal. That being said, there is a bar type table with high chairs in the kitchen and a lovely table outside if weather permits.

We arrived on a rainy evening (booked on very short notice) and were immediately led into a very cozy, pre-heated room that was lovingly furnished. We instantly felt very comfortable. The cottage was formerly a stable, is about 500 years old, and has been beautifully modernized. You can reach the sea with a leisurely walk of just under 5 minutes. The entire cottage and everything around it, including the great view and the lovingly designed garden, greatly impressed us. The stay was rounded off by a very friendly, easy-going host. Thank you!

Micheal was very helpful when we had a problem with the car. He got his tools and sorted it out. The kitchen is well equipped, very clean. Milk and nice coffee were provided. The Cottage is a jewel in the Crown of the Kingdom of Kerry. Location overlooking the sea set in magnificent gardens. Host Micheal was one of the nicest people we have ever met and we 100% will be returning to this beautiful place. We cannot praise it enough.

The cottage was serene and beautiful. Our favorite location and stay of the trip. Quiet, private, clean and welcoming. Every detail was thought of. The property has been in his family for 500 years and the care he takes is evident everywhere you turn.

I recently had back surgery - the bed was a little soft for me but every other amazing detail far outweighs this issue.

Could do with a little microwave as there is no oven just a 2 ring hob (not sure where that would go as it's a very compact kitchen) A little table in the main room and 2 chairs (fold up ones maybe) we brought the patio table and chairs in for our evening supper as the midges were biting when on the patio - bring a citrus candle! Handsoap in the bathroom would have been nice.

The cottage is a small paradise. Very tasteful and comfortable, inside and out. Stunning view over the sea. The gardens around the cottage are a treat to the eye, artfully laid out and groomed. Last but not least, the host is a very nice person.

It was an amazing experience to stay in this uniquely located cottage for one night. It was very comfortable and the host was very friendly, polite and welcoming. But the best part of our stay was the fantastic view overlooking the ocean! There was a beautiful beach right down the hill as well.

Not much around the place for dining, so maybe bring your own food to cook. The kitchen is well equipped.

The place is wonderful. It's in the middle of a stunningly beautiful garden. Michael lives nearby but it feels private. I didn't see him after I checked in. Not a lot of windows inside but it gets some light in the morning anyway since it's on top of an exposed hill. There are outside sitting terraces all around, including a secluded one in the back. Views are amazing. Everything was very thoughtfully prepared, including cut flowers from the garden. Highly recommend.

Micheal was very kind and available every time we needed and the cottage is extremely charming and comfy. It's a pity we couldn't stay longer. Highly recommend this place with fantastic energy and outstanding aesthetics, inside and outside. 7min waking from the beach 💙

The Cottage was a piece of heaven, a throw back to old Ireland. The ambiance, atmosphere, and scenery were out of this world. Thank you to a great host in Micheál who went above and beyond for us. It was 4 days of pure relaxation and rest in a stunning location. The Cottage had everything we needed, and the scones on arrival were a great touch! Thank you for a memorable stay.
