4 Nächte im Attendant's Cottage waren wunderbar - eine unvergessliche Erfahrung. Gefühlt am Rande der Welt und doch komfortabel. Danke für diese Möglichkeit.
Jane is the absolute BEST. She is so welcoming, and the house is spotless. This is my 2nd time staying here, and I can't wait to return. The house is so comfortable, and the location is magical.
What's not to love about this place!
Super place to stay everything was fantastic, host was very helpful and friendly
Nothing
Wát een locatie! Echt HEEL bijzonder!
The location is unique: next to a lighthouse in the open ocean. If you like a calm accommodation in the heart of nature, this is the perfect place to be. At the same time, it is very comfortable and clean. Jane is very helpful and hospitable. A genuinely unique place to stay!
Nothing negative.
The host was wonderful
Location by the sea
Bed was hard..
A Truly Magical Stay at Loop Lightkeeper House What a lovely, beautiful, and truly magical place! The Loop Lightkeeper House has been thoughtfully renovated in a modern style while preserving its old-world character. It's clean, cozy, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The peaceful surrounding area makes this house more attractive. In the evenings, you can take a scenic walk along the cliffs, and in the mornings, you're greeted by the sweet sound of singing birds. It's such a calming, inspiring environment. The location is also perfect—just 27 minutes from Kilkee and only 6 minutes from a fantastic restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. This is a very special place, made even more so by the wonderful owner, Jane. She is warm, friendly, and truly has a heart of gold. I would highly recommend staying here. I’m already looking forward to coming back soon!
Jane met us upon arrival and explained what we needed to know about the property, appliances, nearby food and attractions, etc. We found the three bedrooms to be spacious and the dining, sitting, and kitchen areas very clean and well maintained. We did many of the meals ourselves. The lighthouse is surrounded by cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on three sides; you are staying at the very edge of Ireland! During our stay, it was overcast and rainy, so the views were limited; however, this did not detract from our experience at all. If anything, the weather gave us a more authentic feeling of life in a lighthouse on the ocean. The bonus part was, when the sun came out, rainbows were everywhere! We stayed as a family of four (ages 53, 52, 20, and 13) and we all had an amazing time. Everyone at Loop Head Lighthouse were fantastic!
We did not have any downsides worth mentioning. There are a few things that visitors should be aware of to decide if this property is right for them. 1) The property-at-large is open to the public during the day. This DOES NOT include your private accommodations, but people will be walking around the property and touring the lighthouse. The property is gated, so during off hours, the gates are locked. Guests are provided with a key to the gate, so you can come and go as you please. 2) The property is surrounded by cliffs that are quite tall and are not fenced off. Families with small children should take this into consideration.
We were very impressed with Jane's attentiveness. Lovely spacious bedrooms and bathroom, with quality fittings and furniture. Very comfortable beds. The house felt brand and was absolutely spotless. Wonderful location.
An unfortunate downside of the cottage layout is that living/dining room next to the kitchen is very small to serve as both.
A fabulous location. Jane, our host was lovely, giving great advice and linking in with us regularly. She gave great tips such as where to eat and walking ideas.
No issues
What a unique and magical place the attendant’s cottage is! The location is breathtaking. Jane is an incredible host. She made us feel so welcome and gave us a fantastic orientation to Loop Head. I have never had a host as knowledgeable and authentic as Jane. Loop Head’s people are exceedingly warm and welcoming. It’s a magical place
No complaints.
Magnificent location, fantastic interior and great facilities! Best stay of our trip in Ireland! We will be back!
Absolutely nothing!
The place was exactly as we expected. It’s a beautiful house, stylishly decorated and in a stunning location. We loved everything about the place and we had a great family weekend away. Jane looked after us well and we will definitely be back.
Good comminication throughout stay and friendly welcome.Stylish and very comfortable furnishings throughout the cottage. Very informative Lighthouse tour.
We didn’t want to leave. We will be back!!!
Stunning interior and location
We loved staying here! The accommodation has been tastefully renovated and it had everything we needed for our stay. It was a beautiful, peaceful location and we had the entire compound to ourselves once the staff went home.
There was nothing not to like about staying here.
We loved that it was so different to anywhere we’d ever stayed before and even though it’s an unusual property it felt so comfortable and homely and at the same time had all the mod cons and more. The interior was a pleasant surprise and they’ve really thought of everything from books, puzzles to vinyls, coffee making facilities, clothes horse and outside private dining area. Loved the huge shower and bath.
Couldn’t fault it tbh
Everything! The place was spic and span with all amenities as listed. The location was epic. No words can express the beauty of this place and one has to experience it in person. Jane is the best local guide one can get.
Beautiful and unique location. House had everything we needed, was comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. We were all on a high after our stay and would love to go back!!
Everything. Seeing the lighthouse at night and walking around
Breathtaking location, spotless, all mod cons, wifi, and little extras. Clear instructions and a warm welcome from Jane!
great communication and help from Jane prior to and during our stay. location is different and interesting if that's what you like!!,(we did!) cottage is clean ,well equipped and comfortable
The location is stunning and the accommodation is very comfortable and homely. It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Our host Jane is very friendly and welcoming and ensured that our stay was as enjoyable as possible, we could not have asked for more. A truly memorable and enjoyable stay at Loop Head.
Nothing
I love travelling and I would say this was one of my favourite stays ever. Top 1 or 2 places I’ve stayed in in Ireland ever. It’s so unique, you can lie in the bath and look out at the Atlantic. I was worried it would be cold but it heats up really quickly. Sunsets and sunrises were incredible and we got a really clear weekend so we could see the mountains in Kerry although I would have been happy to be inside with a storm howling outside too. A magic experience with the very very best of hosts.
The lighthouse is an exceptional and memorable holiday location. It is beautifully set up, warm and cosy with lovely facilities. Jane, the host, was welcoming and very friendly. A holiday location our family will remember forever.
Property is very nicely decorated, and very comfortable, amazing location. Jane was a great host and kept in contact with us during our stay to see if needed anything.
It was all good, I can't think of any suggestions for improvement
Our stay at Lighthouse Loop Head was absolutely unforgettable, thanks to the incredible hostess, Jane! She went above and beyond to make our experience perfect, from her warm welcome to her exceptional care throughout our stay. The lighthouse is a magical place, and even the windy weather added to its charm – our four kids loved every moment of it! Thank you, Jane, for making this one of the best family getaways we've ever had. We’ll definitely be back!
It’s exactly as described, but so much better. Location, views and facilities were just top class and more than was ever expected!
Zilch
I think it must rank top of my list for a location in Ireland to visit. Loop head attendant’s cottage’s was decorated with its surroundings in mind. It was luxurious the minute you walked in the front door. Details such as the overhead wallpaper in the hallway and sitting room took into account the location. The binoculars hanging on a hook was a reminder of times gone by. Each room, downstairs and upstairs were complemented by reading material, novels and informative leaflets of surrounding locations that are so well worth a visit. All the rooms were very cosy. The kitchen had everything one needed. And the bathroom upstairs, omg, it was class, the magnificent decor that surrounded a fabulous bath and I have no words for the shower, all I can say is I will have to put it on my bucket list for my own bathroom. And finally, our host Jane, a lady, very welcoming from the get go. She was always at the end of the phone, even the lovely texts we received really made it feel that this was more than a job to her, she was passionate about the house and a true pleasure to deal with. Anyone who stays here will feel the same. Thanks Jane and
The coziness, the amazing location and our amazing hostess Jane.
My friend and I had the best weekend at the cottage. From start to finish it was exceptional. Jane met us on arrival and she was a dream host. She clearly loves her job and where she lives, her passion for the history of the lighthouse, cottage and the surrounding areas was infectious we couldn't wait to get out to explore. The cottage itself is well equipped with everything you may need. It is so cosy and comfortable and we had a super weekend. While we were there Storm Ashley arrived and it was wild which we loved, the electricity went and Sunday morning Jane arrived with breakfast and coffee for us! You wouldn't get it in a 5 star hotel! I have already booked another stay for the Spring, can't wait to return. Thank you Jane.
Spectacular location with amazing views from every window. The house has been renovated to a high standard and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The host was very helpful, the check-in was very easy.
The stunning views, the beautiful lighthouse, the charming cottage interior. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and it was the highlight of our trip. The area is very remote but stunning. It’s totally relaxing & the views are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Touring the lighthouse was so much fun as well.
There was nothing wrong with the property whatsoever!
The attention to detail in the cottage was unbelievable. Nicest place I've ever stayed. There's no way to exaggerate how extraordinary it was to be there, and we'll go back.
We liked everything
The combination of remoteness, jaw-dropping beauty, delightful details, modernity where needed, and enthusiastically lovely & personable staff made this the highlight of our trip to Ireland!
We could only stay two nights!
What an exceptional property! Surrounded by the wild Atlantic sea, unbelievable views. Drenched in history yet up to date mod cons in keeping with historic traditions! So honoured to be gate keepers to the lighthouse for our time at Loophead lighthouse. Our host Jane was fabulous! So welcoming & informative introduced us to beach we would not have found without her. Our visit was so exceptional we have booked in for further two stays, counting down the days till we get to stay again! Thank you so much Jane & all the team for the most memorable stay of our lives.
We had the best stay at Loop Head Lighthouse Attendants Cottage! The cottage was so cosy and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The cottage was so well equipped with everything we needed, and our host Jane couldn’t do enough for us. We had an amazing family getaway here, with lots of adventures and activities on our doorstep. The location was as amazing as you could imagine being on site with a lighthouse and surrounded by great walks. Thanks to Jane for being such a helpful and accommodating host. We are planning our next stay already ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a spectacular and unique location! Jane was the most perfect host and was incredibly helpful. The cottage was perfect, newly and very tastefully refurbished, cosy yet spacious and being within the walls of the lighthouse complex, felt very special. The included Lighthouse tour was well worth doing and the views from the top of the lighthouse were breathtaking. I could not recommend Loop Head Lighthouse Attendant's Cottage more highly!!
It felt so cozy & inviting
Nothing
It's no exaggeration to say this is one of the most amazing places I've ever stayed in. It was honestly an absolute privilege to stay here for two nights. The location itself is obviously gorgeous, and this alone would've been enough to make it feel like paradise. You can stare out to the estuary on one side and the ocean on the other. As you walk along the cliffs, you are accompanied by the roar of waves crashing onto the cliffs. When you lock the gates to the lighthouse area at night, you basically have the peninsula to yourself. Then you can go to bed, lulled to sleep by the lighthouse light shining out and then retreating. But it's not just the gorgeous location that makes it so special - the house itself is absolutely exquisite. The attention to detail means that, wherever you look, you give a little gasp of joy. Little shells dotted here and there, a variety of paintings and pictures in all corners - all a joy to behold. The record player with actual LPs to play, the books, the baskets, the lights, the flowers in the garden, the well equipped kitchen. And my two favourite views: one from the garden through the arch in the wall and one from the loo upstairs! But the icing on the cake is the welcome we had from Jane. She was informative, friendly... just made us feel at home immediately, and was there when we left as well. You can see that she lives and breathes this beautiful area, and this is infectious. And once you've stayed there, you understand why. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful place with us.
Beautiful cottage in a truly spectacular location. Very clean and comfortable with everything you could need in a self catering property. The staff Jane and Martin were so helpful. Really useful information in the cottage on Loop Head and activities in the area. Great experience.
Nothing. It exceeded our expectations
We loved the lighthouse keeper assistants cottage. The décor was cosy and charming, the facilities worked really well (heating & hot water were amazing), the host (Jane) was so warm and welcoming and the location is so special...wild and beautiful. We loved our tour of the lighthouse (included with the rental) and being able to grab a coffee from the little coffee shop before we set off on our days adventures around the Loop Head peninsula. When the adventures were over and the gates closed to the lighthouse in the evening, we felt privileged to have this little piece of Ireland to ourselves for the night with the flashing of the lighthouse reminding us of the rugged location where we would be spending the night. Great memories made :-)
Nothing, this was as close to the perfect stay as one can get.
