Reviewed Apr 14, 2026We had a wonderful week-long stay at The Rise, which we used as our base during a sports competition. The downstairs space is very well provided for by host Peter, who did a great job of ensuring we had everything we needed & was great to have a chat to as well. Highly recommended accommodation options, and some amazing views as a bonus.
The cooking amenities & space are minimal, so if you're intent on a longer stay without exclusively dining out, stagger your food shops across your duration.

Unable to lock the door to unit and shared entrance with property owner. As thought had booked a fully self contained unit which this was not. It is the down stairs of the owners house.

The location was far enough away to relax and was 15-minutes travel time to the venues we need to go to. My wife and I will be staying at the Rise again on our next visit to Hawkey's Bay
