Reviewed Jul 9, 2026Blissful Country Cottage is an extremely apt name for this accommodation. It's very comfortable and well equipped. I liked that fact that the kitchen was separate from the bedroom/bathroom area and having an open fireplace was absolute heaven. My hosts were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The garden is exquisite, I appreciated being able to use the washing machine and loved their three well behaved dogs. The cottage is well suited for those wishing to explore the vineyards of Elgin, go to the weekend market at the restored railway station, the fruit orchards or the coastal towns of Hermanus and Kleinmond. I very much enjoyed visiting the 2 delightful farm stalls in the area. All in all, I would highly recommend this relaxing spot to spend a few nights in.

Reviewed Apr 3, 2026The location is perfect, its safe, quiet and very tranquil. I loved that we had a gate with our own remote to come and go as we pleased. Meaning your vehicle is safe. We had fast wifi, nice braai facilities and the place was spotless clean. The communication from the host was amazing, giving directions and recommendations. It was an easy, fuss free stay and I would go back 1000%

I wish the shower head was adjustable because it's overhead and tricky if you are not washing your head.

The cottage is beautifully furinished, and the amenities are top-notch. Vin is a superb host. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming. His kindness, attention to detail, and killer smoothies made our stay beyond perfect. I highly recommend staying here.

Reviewed Aug 6, 2025The location was excellent and the road to Blissful takes you down tree-lined avenues which are very pretty and quiet. I loved their garden and koi pond and enjoyed time sitting in the sun. Their sweet dogs also made me feel really welcome and I loved playing with them as I was missing my own pet. The staff were attentive to my fire-wood needs and very pleasant to talk to.
I honestly cannot think of anything more I would have needed. They had taken care of everything to make my visit comfortable.

He even gave us more smoothies and milk the second day. We have already booked another stay. Highly recommended. Vin was very friendly too.

The cottage is simply amazing – a stylish bedroom, a cozy fireplace, and a beautifully designed bathroom with attention to every detail. Evenings were made perfect with R&B music and the breathtaking view through the large window overlooking the garden, magically lit at night – a true feast for the senses. The host is extraordinary, going above and beyond to ensure guests feel pampered. The morning shake was just one of many thoughtful touches that made us feel so special. The cottage is fully equipped, and the garden is a true paradise – the perfect spot to unwind and escape the everyday hustle. I wholeheartedly recommend this place – it far exceeds all expectations!

Reviewed Jun 29, 2024We didn't know the town or area at all - and what a fantastic surprise! Vin's property is in a beautiful neighbourhood, with a lush and tranquil garden. The accommodation was very clean and well equipped. He really went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. There is a fire pit in front of the room, as well as an extremely nice braai area a few metres from the room - also in a beautiful setting. We initially thought of going out on our second night's stay, but the braai area and garden was so beautiful and enjoyable, we rather opted for a second night spent at the accommodation. Vin is a great host. He is knowledgeable about the area and can suggest plenty of activities. He was readily available when we needed help or advice. We can't wait to go back!

Reviewed Mar 27, 2024I booked very late - around 7pm for an 8pm arrival. The host took it in stride and welcomed me with a smile and a freshly made watermelon juice, which went a long way to making up for a difficult day! I left early next morning for work, so never saw the garden in daylight, but it was beautifully lit by night. A lot of thought has gone into making the space comfy and welcoming - it's a simple but perfect stop-over.
