Location, people, view, food.

A bit of clean sheets, room is expected. Room shares were burnt. A slight walls in bathroom were not clean. Room walls were not clean. Not worth of money charged

The USP of this property is it's location. Right among the beautiful one trees.

A perfect secluded personal room in nature with all facilities at finger tips. The location was awesome in seclusion and green nature. The staff always went an extra mile to ensure things are arranged as needed like: cab, food, nearby attractions information, etc. There was good variety in food and it was perfect, prepared fresh and made available at the given time.

As the construction work was going on, we had to park our car outside of the hotel

Prime location Good construction Wifi was good and they were adjusting to facilitate use of their office for use of wifi during my daughter's exam

Wheelchair / lift access to rooms. It was painful to have my family climb up to the rooms after each meal . Food was horribly spicy- apart from breakfast which was very basic Power cut intermittently with no back up

Nice location but difficult approach road and parking

The access road and parking needs to be improved. Also the room cleanliness needs improvement.

Location is ultimate. Food is limited but whatever they serve are the best foods. Managers are friendly and help you in every need. Worth every penny. Front of the room you will get the best mountain view and the back of the room there is deodar forest

The property is located at an exceptional place. The cottage was sqeaky clean with all necessary facilities. The staff needs a special mention as they were extremely welcoming and helpful. The chef is also quite skilled at his craft as whatever we ordered over 3 days was absolutely delicious. We are frequent travel and it is very rare to experience such great hospitality at one place. I hope they keep up the great work and we look to visit again in future.

It was a wonderful stay at Deodar Stays. I went with family and we had booked a family cottage. The rooms were big. Had two double beds. Beds were comfortable. Toiletries including dental kit were there. Towels and bed linens were clean. The view from the cottage was great. They also arranged for Bonfire at nominal charges. The food was also tasty. The adventure activities were nearby. Its inside the Deodar forests and you can take a stroll as well. Overall we liked the stay and will prefer to stay there when we go to Kanatal again.

The location is absolutely beautiful with cosy cottages amidst the Kaudia forest, overlooking the mountains. The staff is exceptionally hospitable and kind.

Having room heaters/ mattress heaters is necessary in winters as it can get very cold

The rooms are cold, but the manager offered an electric heather, which was working fine.

The lovely location,friendly staff and excellent food.The rooms are new,lilen was clean .Washroom was clean .The early morning breakfast in the Sun gives a great start to the day .The sunsets are fabulous. If you have interest in photography, you will have fantastic shots of the Higher Himalayan snowcapped peaks , lots of birds and butterflies not exactly from the resort but very close at a walking distance of 10 min .There are wonderful Deodar trees all around .

Winters have started and the guests from plains expect room heaters .Heaters are available but the guest has to ask for it .I hope the lawns and plantation work also improves by the next rains .

The stay was perfect, exactly what we wanted - to be away from any and all hustle bustle of the city life. We were at Deodar stays for 3 nights. The location is beautiful, with the most amazing views of the valley and mountains, skies displaying prettiest sunsets right from the cottage. Right behind the property is a forest where lies the most beautiful view of the Himalayas. You can see the whole Gangotri range with layers and layers of mountain scenery, the forest has many trails for hiking and cycling. Apart from the amazing location, both the staff and food are a delight! Rooms are super clean and comfortable. We have not heard a single NO from any of the staff for any of our requests and offered the best possible service. Food is so delicious, we tried almost everything on their menu and loved every item, special mention to Garhwali Thali they made for us! I think it's an ideal place for anyone looking to break away from city life or anyone looking to be close to nature! Thank you Rameshji, Deshpal ji and Chef ji for making it a great comfortable stay for us.

It’s a quaint property with wonderful valley n hills views. The staff is extremely hospitable and warm. We had a wonderful one night stay. Could have definitely extended if there weren’t other plans. Worth coming back to!

The breakfast was excellent with the host himself supervising. Given the remote location and inclement weather during our visit, what the host and his team did was awesome.

The location and the approach road. Depending upon one's fitness level and purpose of visit, the location & approach road could be described from awesome to awful. Awesome for physically fit, adventurous people as the cottages are perched on mountainside with an unhindered view stretching to snowy peaks (during our stay everything was covered in fog unfortunately). The flip side is, gusts of icy winds making the whole place super cold as well as clammy during foggy weather. Difficult for elderly, not-so-fit tourists.

It has great hospitality and service . The staff is couriers the owner / manager of the property tries to fulfill all your requirements. Excellent and exceptional service . Location of the property is also good .

The property s location and the small cottages are absolutely a delight !! The view is stunning . The place is full of serenity and tranquility. It’s a perfect getaway from the city life . It has all amenities and is very clean. I must say that the manager of the property Mr Ramesh is outstanding in his service and hospitality. He goes out of his way to fulfil our request . It just felt like home away from from . Must visit place !! Highly recommend it .

Rameshji, Chef Biswasji and Gauravji were extremely hospitable and served delicious Pahadi food cooked specially upon my request. The cottages are kept clean, with provision of additional blankets. Each cottage with its attached verandah is with a beautiful mountain view as the cottages are placed at different levels. The location is amidst a forested park and the early morning walk amidst the trails is enjoyable. There are gazebos at a few places along the trail where one can relax.

The place needs to have proper and adequate heaters during severe winters.

The property had Scenic View from every corner. The cottages were clean and spacious with availability of hot water 24/7.

It was awesome experience to stay admidst of deodar forests n enjoy morning walks in between the forest trails. experienced the forest safari n visited the nearby villages. If anyone interested to experience the soulful stay in pahadi cottages ...it will be a memorable stay

The Deodar Stays is a beautiful new hotel in the Himalayas with very comfortable and cozy cabins from which one enjoys a stunning view onto the foothills of the Himalayas and the famous Surkanda Devi Temple which is just 10 km away by car. The view towards the eternal snow peaks of the Himalayas can be enjoyed after a short 10-minute walk. The hotel is located in a cedar forest and offers a quiet retreat from the busy world. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food being served at the hotel restaurant is excellent. I very much recommend this hotel.

Awesome stay. The cottage was comfortable and cozy. The view of the hills from the cottage was awesome and the food was great. We also listened to some great and exciting stories from the host and attendants which were exciting and the bonfire was uber cool.
