Very accommodating owner & staff which is very essential.Highly recommended .
My wife I have given a 10 at each point. Couldn’t fault it (not that we are looking for fault) Friendly and obliging staff. Also cheerful and helpful. We chose one of the basic huts and it was quant and filled with character. We could hear the sea and there was a nice peaceful mood and ambience everywhere from bar / Restaraunt to The beach deck chairs. Food was very good. Not being a luxury resort we expected it to a bit run down but it wasn’t at all. the owner’s seam to great pride in its upkeep and maintenance. It’s a really lovely get-away by the sea. Swimming was great. We both love the ocean water so swimming was fantastic. Sunsets were beautiful. We stayed for five weeks and loved our time.
Proximity to the water. Quiet and restful ambience. Cool breezes in the evening. We are newly married and we have made a beautiful memory for ourselves in a romantic and restful place.
Food was delicious. We loved being able to wake up with the sunrise right on the beach.
Food was a little expensive so we would often go to the city for food. Would have been nice if it was similar price.
Best stay in Philippines for relax. Will back for sure. The owners and the staff are amazing, helps with Everything you need, the restaurant location front beach is perfect.
I couldn’t stay more
The place can be relaxing but with their bathroom you will be shocked that there is no door. When in fact the owner itself told me that if you want a bathroom that has a door in it you must have chosen the expensive one. 😞😞😞
The girl owner seems to be trying to discriminate local guest like us. For she is only good at entertaining foreigners and can't even smile at us. We leave the place without hearing them saying Thank you come again after paying.
We had a very good time during our stay and everything worked out perfectly. The accommodation was great and we felt very comfortable. Thank you very much for everything!
Very nice and calm place to relax, friendly staff and owners. Perfect beach and good food
This is a very well run top quality guesthouse. The owner has thought of everything in organizing this place. There are lots of hammocks and seating under the shade on the beach, the cottages are very well designed with great verandas and well placed ceiling fans. Although there are a lot of rooms the grounds or dining room never seem crowded. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The beach is at least 1km long and very clean and you can swim right from the shore.
One of my best stays in 2 months traveling in Philippines
All perfect
Location, ambiance, staff, views
Chain smokers at the bar.
Sehr netter Chef, tolles Personal und unschlagbares Essen
Alles perfekt
We stayed in the deluxe A/C room and it was perfect. Good warm shower, spotlessly clean, well stocked fridge and very quiet split A/C. The bed is large and comfortable. Everything looks and feels very well maintained. Exactly as described in the listing description. The huge dog is awesome! The staff were very friendly and approachable, thanks to Shay, Di and Grace.
The food choices were good but the flavour was a little bland. My only real complaint is the room service charge, I don't understand why I have to pay 10% for room service. The staff are already being paid to work the whole day so why do I have to pay extra for room service when the staff are not even busy? It would be nice if the sun loungers on the beach were a bit more spread out for more intimacy.
This is the spot for families or couples/single travelers looking for some good old fashioned quiet time. Restaurant is good and well stocked, staff are just lovely, it’s not at all overpriced or loud.
Everything is fine, but if you need solid internet connection for work or if you don’t have a vehicle and plan to spend time in town, message them first as these could be troublesome.
Beautiful view and large lot on the ocean. Nicely garden setting with well spaced cottages. Cottage was simple but nice enough. Strong water pressure! Nice wood tables and great beach furniture everywhere. Fast water refilling station with nice tasting water!
Food is average at best. Staff disappears from the restaurant quite a bit and we would say that everyone on site could work on customer service and hospitality. We would definitely return because it's very chill and relaxing.
The location, setting, staff, overall resort. It's really nice
The entrance had me thinking I'd booked a very budget place. I spoke with the owner and he is upgrading the entry experience. Once you're through that, it's a different place
Servus vom Salat-Christian
The food was great . If you're looking for an authentic German food this is the best .
All good for me , just lots of mosquitoes but it's something that we can't control .
The most welcoming staff and lady owner, the location just beachfront very easy to go swimming, the countryside vibes, the silent surroundings, the very delicious food!

Location is very awesome! I would love to come back ro relax anytime.
Toilets does not have doors! Weird and not a bery bery Philippine standard Open Mind!
Great place. The deluxe family room was better than expected. Nice Aircon/AC, beautiful decorations, updated bathroom. On the patio there were a couple of drying racks, that we used for our swim suits and a convenient faucet to wash off the sand off your feet. Beach sand is nice , very nice beach furniture to sit or lay down and plenty of palm trees if you want to relax in the shade. Water was calm and pleasant. Very friendly and approachable owner. He let us borrow some snorkeling masks and a little canoe for the kids. The food is great. They use good ingredients, have European options and even have German style sausages, sourced from a German expat in Cebu. Also WiFi worked nicely. Overall we had a wonderful experience and hope to stay here again, when we visit the Negros island again. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Not accepting credit cards at the property (accepting GCash). The mosquitos 😄
This was our second stay at this resort, and we absolutely love everything about it. Located on the famous Sugar Beach, it offers comfortable rooms and charming bungalows surrounded by a beautiful garden and well-kept grounds. The restaurant and bar serve great food and drinks, and there are plenty of beach amenities, including kayaks and paddle boards for rent. The whole area is peaceful and scenic—perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Located on one of the nicest beaches in Negros
Good food, comfortable clean rooms and polite, attentive staffs! But we keep coming back because of the sweet doggies 🥰
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The facilities are clean, making it a quiet beach resort away from city life. It’s a must-visit destination if you want or need to unwind. You can enjoy the beach, connect with great people, and soak in the calming environment.
The place, the food, the people, everything!
Food was good. Close to the beach. Small enough that was welcomed feeling not crowded. Good for couples get away from children.
Nothing
This is the most relaxing place I been to in the Philippines. The beach is incredible and the resort is just perfect. Now I know where to go if I need a timeout.
Loved everything about this place. Quiet, good food, beach very nice and place was very comfortable.
All great
Everything! Best place I’ve stayed in the Philippines so far! Felt like I was on my honeymoon as soon as I arrived! Such a relaxing tranquil place, empty beaches, great food, super friendly staff, loved the room, didn’t want to leave, 3 days just wasn’t enough!

the location and the bungalow are beautiful
this is a place for Germans Having parties and drinking bear, not for travellers. The owner was not welcoming, I paid more money than booking.com had shown, only a few euro, but in principle that is not correct.
Right on Sugar Beach, so can go swimming anytime you want. Room had a bungalow feel, but was really the size of a hotel room. Nice sized porch too. Tried a wide variety of the food and all was good. Typical restaurant prices, but good sized portions. Staff were all pleasant. They also arranged a boat tour for us.
We found this place by coincidence while doing a road trip around Negros by car. You can really get stuck here, we booked for 2 nights, but came back for another 3 nights a few days after because we felt so well. Sugar beach is one of the best beaches for swimming I've seen in the Philippines, soft sand and great sunsets. The owner Jogi is an entertaining guy, always looking after his guests and easy to talk to. The restaurant and bar area is a chill place to hang out, you can really forget time here and live between swimming, hammock, sunsets and cold beer. 😊
It’s very comfortable and the place was really good for relaxing

Location great Staff great
The view
The room
So peaceful and almost end of prioerty in Sugar Beach…ONLY THATS IT’s kinda hard to find because of the small sign that when you proceed you don’t even know it exist cause almaot end of road and mountains.
Pillows are so soft - got to askfor extra BUT still not comfy enough- and the mosquito coils ( we have a M- net ) so I just off the coils filling in our small bamboo hut. Ao far the rest oumyfamilycomfy wnough to aleep in their respective huts.
The longer journey more than paid off. We are glad we decided to spend a few days on Negro's west coast. After walking the entire Sugar Beach, I would say the best place to stay there! There's nothing wrong with staying longer! Unfortunately, we were a bit unlucky with the weather the few days we were there (a lot of rain, a lot of waves). Short hike to a viewpoint or boat ride to the shipwreck and a small island, there is certainly more to do in the area. Food is good! Thank you everyone
Next time we would choose the bungalow, there isn't much space in the cabanas, anyway you sit on the beach or in the restaurant and not in your room :-)
The setting of this resort is amazing so lush and we'll maintain gardens. It is right on Sugar Beach which is beautiful. The staff was really pleasant and also the owner of the resort really made me feel welcome and they served good food.
That I didn't stay longer 🤣🤣🏝️✌️🛵
Decor. Very natural and organic. Staff were awesome especially the owner. So much wood. Beds are very comfortable.
Mosquitoes. My bad. Didn't deploy the mosquito net until I had been well chewed on. After that, bliss. We're in the tropics folks.
Location, clear water, good food at reasonable prices. Staff were well trained and had common sense about things. Beach was great with all development set back quite far from the waters edge.
Neighboring resort provided basic amenities but their Karaoke was played too loud. The cottages were well maintained but mattress was not not comfortable.
I was here in 2023 (May 30-June 3) but I came in the wrong time because it was raining hard that time, so I said, I am coming back summer of this year, which I did. I really love this place! It's by Sugar Beach, you have the best view of the sunset, they have really great staff and the owners are so delightful (especially to Grace and Jean and her husband Jurgen), food is very good, and the best part for me is I get to stay in one of the small cottages in the resort. I love the 2-bed cottage, it is a fan room, but I love the rustic, native built of it. The native, island vibe is just perfect. The place overall is really quiet, you wouldn't expect some loud music playing, and where the cottages are, are fairly distant from the common area/dining hall where the guests are. The surroundings are amazing, with so many trees and a nice garden, it is such a holiday paradise for me. It gets really quiet and peaceful during the evening, which is something I love. The access to the beach is just few steps away and they have beach chairs, some swings and tables so you can enjoy the view. They have also a really good wifi connection in the place, but as you get further away from the dining hall, the connection gets weaker, overall, the connection is strong and reliable. I brought my work with me, and there was not a single problem doing my work with their strong internet connection.
It's not what I didn't like, but maybe something they can improve on. I noticed in the cottages that they are "inconsistent" For example, one cottage has a clothesline by the entrance of their cottage (Cottage 1 where I stayed in 2023), and some don't (like Cottage 2 where I recently stayed in) the cottage at the further end has a faucet where they can rinse the sand, and another one has a bigger space by their doorstep. Also, it would be great if they had a water dispenser in the dining hall where it serves hot and cold water. I always have to walk to their kitchen and ask for hot water, so it would be great if it is readily available and can be accessed anytime of the day. Overall everything is really good, they got everything you need.
Jürgen, David and their family make this resort a place you never want to leave again. With their warm cordiality and love for the detail they have created a tropical paradise underneath palm trees right at the most beautiful beach in Sipalay. Days melted into each other while I lost the feeling of time and space. No matter if you just want to relax or have good conversation with the other guests or the family - you feel at home.
It's a very quiet place, very relaxing. Good value and the food and drinks menu has been the cheapest of the resorts I've been to soo far and the food quality was excellent.
My room didn't have air conditioning, only a fan. But I survived. I also knew ahead of time my room didn't have air conditioning. Other rooms do.
We stayed for one night in the family cottage and that was nice. The water is clean and warm and there are not a lot of people on the beach. So it was very pleasant.
I wasn't aware that the facility does not accept credit card. Only cash. Thankfully we have enough cash to cover for lunch and dinner for 8 people. We skipped breakfast since we ran out of cash. Your only option is to pay the food by cash gcash or PayPal which we don't have. There's a lot of plastic bottles and garbage between the border of another facility.
I stayed here 5 years ago and have always wanted to revisit. It is just as good as before and I was not disappointed.
I would have spent more money if credit cards were accepted - so perhaps it is good that it is cash only.
Don’t use laundry here - they are not punctual and would spoil your clothes:(
I like the place so laid back that all u can do is to breath the breeze from the sea and enjoy the sound of it. It gives me the much needed rest away from stress. The room is so comfy, the food is good and the staff are all friendly. Highly recommend to visit this place and me myself will definitely come back 🥰🏖️

The owner and his son were very friendly. Accommodation was fine but the real knockout feature was the beach location - stunning.
I marked it down because my tuna sandwich on arrival was poor.
The location, the friendly owners and the paid back vibe.
For the cost perhaps the beach bungalows could do with a little updating but this is being picky as we had a very special stay.
Everthing was perfect. Nice huts, friendly people, clean place, delicious and affordable foods :)
There were alot of mosquitoes in the evening but it's normal in Philippines. Maybe for future guests, it would be helpful to bring anti-repellents or long pants for the night.
We liked the friendly and welcoming host, Oggie, and efficient and helpful staff. We also enjoyed the lovely cool bar and restaurant beach setting. We loved our comfortable and private bungalow in a garden setting, just off the beach. The beach front provided an exceptionally safe and enjoyable area to swim and the sunsets were brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed our very relaxing stay and will most certainly be back.
We didn't like leaving and wish we had booked a longer stay.
Good food. Nice accommodation. Beautiful beach. A nice relaxing place to stay. Overall very happy with our stay
One waitress wasn’t that good at her job. Took an hour for food to be served once ordered.
Nice beach area - maybe the best shore in Sipalay island. Find sands and not rocky.
Lots of Mosquitos - since the area is surrounded by lots of trees.
Wide selection on menu Buildings are well maintained Beach is expansive Kids loved the beach and playing in the ocean.
Water can accumulate on the bathroom floor beside the shower curtain. WiFi comes and goes, but this is a remote place.
Whad a great experience with the Sulu Sunset resort; staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect place to stay!!
I loved everything about Sulu Sunset Beach Resort. I have tried x3 times to get to Sugar Beach in the past but the wait was worth it. Beyond my expectations! My bungalow looked straight out to the beach, the sea breeze was my aircon and the sound of the ocean totally relaxed my stay. Excellent wi-fi. The menu had everything to accomodate good appetites. Cold beer and a great list of cocktails! Real roasted bean coffee!!!! Many thanks to the attentative staff there; Yogi, Mary Jean, David, Abby and the puppies you made me feel like family.. Next door is One Ocean Diving where J and the crew will personalise your diving adventure. Just do it!!🤙🏽
