The location

There was no hot water to shower and we were rushed to check out. It was not communicated with us what time should we check out.

Everything.

The place was easy to find, conveniently located as you enter Douglas. Nico, the host, was exceptional. He kept me updated about the weather and was very accommodating, even when we experienced an issue with the payment machine. He handled it calmly without any fuss. I highly recommend this place, especially with the bonus of a restaurant right next door.

One suggestion would be to consider adding electric blankets, as the place can get quite cold. It would be a great addition to an already lovely stay!

The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean.

The property was amazing and the host extremely accommodating. Nico tended if one of our requests and truly made the experience feel like a home away from home.

We had a slight issue with water pressure.

Roomy bedroom (we had a family room), with a bath and shower. Clean and comfortable linen, towels, daily replenishment of refreshments. Sturdy beds and long enough (probably extended length). Enough cupboard space (2 day stay). The host, Nico, was really exceptional. Went out of his way to make us comfortable. He is an amazing cook - we were a group of 6+ people that requested a dinner. Also for our 2nd day breakfast, he provided us with travel pack instead as we left well before breakfast time and it was excellent.

Very friendly owner,very helpfull,beautiful room,had a great stay, did appreciate the quietness. located near Spar shopping centre. Definitely recommend it.

The property was clean and beautiful

We didn’t have hot water. We had to shower with cold water. And the breakfast that is offered on the premises was not value for money. R120 for 2 eggs, 2 rashes of bacon, 2 slice of tomato and 1 slice of cucumber and only brown bread was offered. We had to ask for the juice and only be given a box juice 200ml.

Good spot for a stopover. Nico was very accommodating and made the most delicious pies for dinner followed by malva pudding :)

Road can be noisy

There weren't a lot of plugs in the room. The noise outside of the room wasn't nice as you could hear everything that is going on inside the guesthouse.

Service was fantastic. Nico offered to have a few items ironed and was much appreciated. We really enjoyed our time at Villa de Ghaap. Nico is an excellent host.

Well positioned to stay over between Gauteng and West Coast. Friendly staff, facilities are clean and comfortable. Restaurant located within walking distance from the guest house.

Prepare for extreme heat, temperature reached 39 degrees celcius😓

The hospitality and friendliness of the owner and staff was exceptional. The atmosphere was homely and welcoming. Had wonderful conversations and really felt welcome and loved. Old school hospitality. Good quality food and just an overall great relaxing experience.

Shower tap not working properly No supervision at night, had to phone supervisor at 1 am to come and sort out the noise, then st 5 am, a tap were running loud next to the room at the guest toilets, did not have real sleep the night
