Reviewed Jul 11, 2026What I liked most about this hotel was its fantastic location in Santa Teresa. The neighborhood had so much charm, and we were able to walk to restaurants, cafés, shops, and many of the area’s attractions, which made exploring very easy. It was the perfect base for experiencing the local atmosphere without relying on transportation. On top of that, the hotel offered excellent value for the price. For what we paid, it exceeded our expectations and was a great choice for our stay.
The main drawback was the hotel entrance. It’s located directly through the outdoor dining area, which felt a bit awkward every time we came and went. Walking through while guests were eating—especially with large suitcases—made it feel like we were interrupting their meals. The space is also quite narrow, making it difficult to maneuver luggage. Fortunately, we arrived very early in the morning when the restaurant wasn’t open, so we avoided that on check-in, and we also left early on departure. I was also a little confused about the housekeeping service. Our room was serviced on the first day, but after that it wasn’t cleaned again during our stay. I wasn’t sure if that was the hotel’s policy, especially since there was a no food or drink policy in the rooms. Finally, aside from the staff member who checked us in, it wasn’t very clear who hotel management or the front desk contact was if we needed assistance or had questions during our stay.

Reviewed Jun 23, 2026Très bon emplacement dans le charmant quartier de Santa Teresa. Le personnel est très gentil et surtout le petit déjeuner et le restaurant sont vraiment très bons. Meilleurs rapport qualité prix ! Il y a aussi des artistes qui viennent jouer, c’est très sympa.

Santa Teresa ist eine bunte Insel, mitten in Rio, und der Armazem Sao Joaquim mit seiner Lebendigkeit und seinen Farben mittendrin . Wer den Komfort eines Mittelklassehotels in Copacabana sucht, wird enttäuscht sein. Wer einen bunten, lebendigen Platz in Rio sucht, der wird hier gerade richtig sein.
Dazu fällt mir nichts ein.

Reviewed Jun 6, 2026I really enjoyed the location and the overall atmosphere of the property. The bed was very comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep, and the reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay.
The window in my room did not close completely, which allowed both street noise and daylight to enter the room. The bathroom also had an unpleasant odor. In addition, there was an issue at breakfast when I was charged incorrectly. Instead of charging for the bread-and-eggs option, they attempted to charge separately for the bread and the eggs, effectively doubling the price. The staff also seemed unhappy when I pointed out the mistake and asked for the bill to be corrected.

Reviewed May 6, 2026Location in Santa Teresa is great (taxis can drop off right outside), bed was comfy and some of the restaurant staff were really nice and helpful. They have somewhere you can leave luggage but it didn't feel secure.
Room was TINY. shutters on window did not open so we couldn't get any natural light. The convenient restaurant downstairs doesn't serve breakfast... We had an emergency one evening and contacted the WhatsApp number on the gate, the responses were completely unhelpful and WEIRD. I was sent videos of the man and kissing emojis etc, to think people like that potentially had access to our room made me uncomfortable. If I had bene travelling as a solo female I would have checked out of the hotel. Street noise is LOUD. On Saturday until after 3am.

Reviewed Apr 24, 2026Clean and comfortable rooms exactly as pictured, right in the heart of the Santa Teresa which is a vibrant, colourful neighborhood. The rooms were quiet and could not hear outside noise from the street or restaurants. The host was always around on site in case anything was needed. The restaurant below is absolutely fantastic! I will definitely go back and highly recommend this property.
Everything was great, no complaints or problems.

Reviewed Apr 19, 2026O quarto é lindo! Exatamente como mostrado nas fotos. As roupas de cama são de muita qualidade. Super macias! Tudo muito estiloso e bem decorado. E a localização é incrível. Bem no Largo dos Guimarães, próximo aos principais pontos de interesse do bairro. As janelas de vidro também funcionaram bem como uma barreira anti-ruido (já que o quarto fica bem de frente para a rua e para os pontos de bonde).
O ar condicionado e o chuveiro do nosso quarto não funcionaram bem. O ar, não estava refrigerando plenamente. E o chuveiro elétrico, só estava esquentando na posição "super quente".

Die Rezeption ist nicht immer besetzt, daher mussten wir beim Checkin warten.

La pousada est située au dessus d’un restaurant, pas simple d’y accèder. Le personnel du restaurant s’occupe également de la reception, ce qui rend difficile de trouver quelqu’un de disponible. L’endroit est très bruyant

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026Hyper confortable, équipements modernes, et le restaurant en dessous de l’hôtel est un grand plus ! On se sent vite à la maison ! + localisation au coeur du Santa Teresa accessible et vibrant.
La chambre est petite bien que très confortable ! C’est un endroit où se reposer après de longues journées mais ne correspond pas aux voyageurs souhaitant y passer du temps ! Parfait pour un sommeil réparateur pour repartir de plus belle.

Se trata de un alojamiento encima de un restaurante / bar. Nos alojamos allí durante el finde y hubo música de discoteca hasta las 6 de la mañana que parecía que estaban tocando dentro de la habitación... No sé si durante la semana será diferente, pero durante los findes...

Kontakt z obiektem na whats upie i mailu był prowadzony przez bota, ciężko uzyskać informacje poza standardem jak dostać się do środka.

Si bien el barrio es lindo para recorrer, la ubicación no es la mejor para moverse cómodamente en Río. Si no conoces la ciudad no lo recomiendo.

Patricio su dueño fue muy amable al recibirnos y también al conseguirnos un taxti de confianza para ir al aeropuerto muy temprano. Se come muy bien y a precios accesibles. O acesso por dentro do restaurante é muito desconfortável vc passa por uma churrasqueira enorme e sai fedendo fumaça pra rua. Quarto SUPER barulhento, chão estava sujo, potência do ar condicionado não dá conta do tamanho do quarto. Tem uma norma absurda e talvez ilegal de não poder se alimentar no quarto o que impede comer até uma pizza ou frutas.

Reviewed Jan 17, 2026The pousada is 7 or 8 rooms above the most popular restaurant/bar in the liveliest part of Santa Teresa. It was a great place to walk around. The bar has live music most days of the week until about 10 pm. We probably wouldn't have booked it if we had known that, as we look for more of a quiet retreat. However, there was a lot we liked about it. You really are right in the center of it all, which is very convenient. The room isn't luxurious, but the decor is cool and the room is spacious. The restaurant downstairs is very good and the restaurant staff are friendly.
Although the walls are thick and the windows block a lot of noise, you can definitely still hear a lot of traffic noise as well as the live music from downstairs. This was okay any night but Saturday. The downstairs music went until about 8 on Sunday and 10 other nights. On Monday it was just a single jazz musician, but Friday to Sunday there is a full band with dancing. So, you need to be prepared for that. The thing that we were not prepared for is the fact that Saturday night there is a huge open air concert (Samba dos Guimarães) right across the street that runs until 1:30 AM. I wouldn't recommend staying on a Saturday night if you plan to sleep before 1:30.
