You know you are going to have a good stray, when you first walk into tour room and everything is spotlees and clean! We have a disability person with us and he was so impressed with how comfortably he could move around without falling over. This is our 5th time booking and staying at the Brown Trout. Yet again, all our experience was awesome!!! If you need somewhere clean and comfortable, I highly recommend this motel. First impressions when walking into our room was spotless, you can tell alot of care and time was put in, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Ngā mihi ki a koutou ngā kaimahi. Miharo katoa tō mātou noho haumaru. Yes we will differently be back!!!

In future check that all the seats are in good working order. One of the legs on a dinning seat was ready to buckle and brake. But that was only minor and an oversight. Everything else was top notch.

I recently stayed at the Brown Trout Motel and had a fantastic experience. The motel was immaculately clean, which immediately made me feel comfortable. The shower was excellent—great water pressure and temperature, truly refreshing after a long day. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding a personal touch to the stay. On top of that, the accommodations were cozy and comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind. I’d highly recommend the Brown Trout Motel to anyone looking for a pleasant and hassle-free stay! Everything was very neat and clean and was just perfect for our overnight stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, I would like one like that! It was quiet as well. A short walk to the town.

A lot of space for the price. Had everything we needed and it was surprisingly quiet in the room even though there were people next door. 3 out of the 4 beds were comfy, 1 mattress was uncomfortable due to springs. Very unlucky for my son who didn't get much sleep.

We moved 2 of the beds away from the curtains, just so we could keep the windows open without risk of bugs getting us first and there was a lot of dust, but that's being really picky. The lighting is really harsh. Either very bright or dark, but at least you can see very clearly at night....or not 😂

Didn't order breakfast as we had brought our own food for the travel. We enjoyed walking around Pahiatua looking at the shops and wonderful people that live there. Staff was very welcoming and asked if we were okay if they saw us sitting outside.

There were no recycling bins. Coming from Auckland (Papakura) it has become a habit to recycle properly.

The owners are very welcoming and efficient, on hand and ready to assist when and if needed.

It was good to have the threshold ramp to get into the unit on my wheelchair

Traffic noise

Location, staff were easy going. Check in was good. Warm, dry and clean.

Rooms could do with some extra comforts. Extra pillows, tea towel. Shower mixer handle was broken. Notified owner upon leaving.

It was close to where I needed to be.

No internet, the heating didn’t work and the tv is very, very limited

The room was spacious and the shower was excellent. Usually the lack of power points in convenient locations is a bug bear at a lot of units, NOT here, they had plenty of double power points in convenient locations and a power board by the bed. Partucularly the double point beside the table.

The bed was too hard and the WiFi was very patchy

Location was excellent for what we had planned and the room was lovely and clean.

Could have had better clothes hanging facilities in the bedroom area and in the bathroom. Only the one bath towel each was pretty poor especially with no heated towel rail. Required a shower before went out after travelling most of the day and obviously one in the morning, would have have expected at least 2 towels each in the room.

Staff were fantastic .. very accommodating, but dirty floor in corners of bathroom .. and a tad expensive for $175 .. mate stayed in the bigger room with a double and a single at the same place .. he only paid $16? But thanks for the stay

We loved everything about our stay. We come down from south auckland, for a pre whanau gathering at te kohanga o whakawhaiti, so it was very close indeed. Beds were comfy, nice and warm, staff was really friendly and helpful. We are definitely booking here again. Highly recommend this motel for sure.
