Otterly's Retreat

It was spotless and beautifully decorated. Location was remote but only 10 min drive to Skibereen.

It was spotless and very cute. A Lots of amenities and the coffee and tea making facilities were excellent. We loved the milk frother!!!!

A beautiful and comfortable accommodation. So handy for all the wonderful places to visit in West Cork but also perfect to just relax there. This was exactly what I was looking for for a solo retreat. The hut has everything you could need and a lovely comfy bed.

The place was beautiful, so clean and so many thoughtful touches in the decor and design. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay at Otterly's Retreat.

The location is beautiful and quiet, the retreat is so well thought through. Everything I could want was included, the bed was large and comfortable and the host friendly and accommodating. Ideal location for local sites and especially for the wedding I attended on a local farm.

It’s a warm and welcoming place to stay, very quiet location. It has been built and furnished with obvious care, using the best of everything - a really special space, nestled in the natural world, a true retreat. Bird song, starry skies, great hosts and convenient for exploring south west Ireland. Highly recommended.

The Shepherd's Hut is in a very tranquil area, but unassuming upon arrival. Once you enter it you are welcomed by the finest of finishes and the best equipment. The layout is perfect, and contains all creature comforts you could possibly want. We only spent one night, but felt completely recharged and relaxed.

It's a lovely little wooden Shepherd's Hut. It feels rustic, but also modern at the same time. It's very well equipped. There were towels/shampoo/conditioner. Salt, pepper, oil, coffee pods, tea, and even milk were provided for us. The setting is very peaceful. It's close to the owner's house, but when you're in the hut it feels very private and you are surrounded by nature. The bed is comfortable, with good quality sheets. Check in was very easy. It's well located for exploring West Cork - it's a short drive from Lough Hyne where you can swim, kayak and see bioluminescent plankton. It's also a short drive from Baltimore, where you can get the ferry to islands like Cape Clear, or do whale watching tours.

We got woken up with the sunrise, but we didn't mind that too much and the owner had provided eye masks which was very thoughtful. The only negative for us was that checkout was very early - 8am. That meant our last morning was a bit rushed. 9am would be better.

We were so lucky to stay in this little gem in West Cork. It's small but perfectly formed, and it's obvious that a lot of care has been given to ensure a cosy and functional interior. I loved waking up to a view of the lush ferns, and it's a great location from which to explore West Cork. Hopefully, we'll return some day. Huge thanks to our kind hosts!

I loved the peace and the beauty that Shepherds Hut offered

Gorgeous little remote hut about a 10 minute drive outside of Skib. Really nicely decorated and well equipped. Gorgeous power shower and immaculately clean.

Only one very small mirror in the hut. Got very bright early in the morning.

The owner was very nice and accommodating. The cabin was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed.

My only comment for improvement would be the sea view to be improved and location of the cabin to be a little more private.

The location was good it’s near the main road

The steps are very small to the side door also there was no mirror in the bathroom when I was shaving

A cabin fitted to perfection, you feel right at home there. There fittings are beautiful, easy to use & even for a 6 foot tall guy, it felt airy & full of space,
