Reviewed Sep 9, 2026Endroit très calme, nous avons profité de la fraicheur des nuits pour bien dormir ! Les repas sont très bons, on sent l'ambiance familiale dans cet hôtel. Le gérant transporte tout le monde au départ des gorges à 3 créneaux le matin, idéal pour commencer tôt la descente des gorges.
La douche n'était pas très grande, mais le reste de la chambre l'était

Camera con bagno privato non grandissima, ma fornita di tutto il necessario. Ristorante dell'hotel su tavoli all'esterno, buona l'offerta dei piatti. Colazione ricca. Gentilezza e generosità del personale.
Nulla di cui possa lamentarmi.

Reviewed Sep 6, 2026The owner and all staff were wonderfully helpful and accommodating. They have suggestions and answered questions and seemed to really enjoy what they do.
This is not a 5 star facility, but give me the kindness and comfort of feeling welcomed into someone's home any day. The shower was simply a base with a curtain wrapped around it, but it worked perfectly.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Leider wurden wir nicht darüber informiert, daß das includierte Frühstück im Zimmerpreis von 78 € nur im Restaurant eingenommen werden darf. Wir hatten uns auf die Terrasse vors Restaurant gesetzt, wurden auch nach unserer Zimmernummer gefragt und haben Kaffee, Saft, ein gekochtes Ei, obst und yogurt
bestellt. Bein checkout sind 17 € hierfür extrberechnet worden!! Das Internet scheint nur dann wirklich ausreichend zu sein wenn das Haus es selbst nutzt. Als Gast hat man kaum genügend GB und im Zimmer leider gar nicht.Toll ist der Service im hotel gegenüber. Die Taverne excellent. Wir können das Exari wärmstens empfehlen. Absolut gastfreundlich und mega leckeres Essen. Einfache aber ruhige Zimmer

La doccia era un po piccola e la per la colazione sarebbe forse meglio prevedere un buffet.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026Value for money, για όποιον θέλει να περάσει το φαράγγι. Εμείς πήγαμε από την προηγούμενη και κάτσαμε και την μέρα που περάσαμε τη Σαμαριά για να ξεκουραστούμε. Και βέβαια το φαγητό και η εξυπηρέτηση στην ταβέρνα του ξενοδοχείου άριστα.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026Un endroit agréable et bucolique sur le plateau d'Omalos au milieu des biquettes. Un hôtel dans son jus ambiance refuge de montagne. Personnel extrêmement gentil et serviable. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est très bon et il est possible de se faire préparer des sandwichs pour la randonnée des gorges de Samaria dont le départ est à 5 minutes en navette de l'hôtel. Une bonne adresse !
Pour ma part, j'aime les coussins fins et plutôt plats, ceux de l'hôtel sont assez gros, mais ce n'est qu'une histoire de goût.

Reviewed Jul 11, 2026La struttura è un po' datata ma l'accoglienza e la posizione a circa 1200 metri slm rendono il soggiorno estremamente gradevole e "rinfrescante" rispetto alle temperature della costa. Ricorda molto un nostro rifugio montano e le foto storiche alle pareti sono estremamente caratteristiche. Ottimo punto di partenza o arrivo per l'esplorazione della Samaria's Gorges. Buona la colazione casalinga. Previsto anche servizio gratuito di navetta per l'ingresso delle Samaria's Gorges.

It blended rustic elegance and refined simplicity, to create a comfortable old-world vibe and character with modern touches and amenities incorporated. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious (the locally sourced vegetable soup I had at dinner was "grandmother" comfort food and a culinary gateway to nostalgia). Staff was great, and the owner/host provided a free lift to the Samaria Gorge entrance in the morning.

Cucina familiare, genuina. Prodotti freschi e di qualità. Spettacolare. La migliore Moussakà assaggiata a Creta! Servizio navetta gratuito per le Gole.

Petit déjeuner excellent, service de navette gratuite pour aller au départ des gorges de Samaria (3 départs dont le 1er À 7h45). Malgré un ensemble un peu vétuste, nous avons passé un excellent séjour.
Humidité dans la chambre et en particulier dans la salle de bain. Douche minuscule, peu de pression (difficile de se laver les cheveux surtout s'ils sont longs).

Reviewed May 17, 2026L'accueil et le personnel sont agréables. Le repas et le petit déjeuner furent bons. Nous avions une chambre triple, la 101, qui est grande avec un balcon et fenêtre avec volets. Emplacement bien situé pour se rendre au gorges de Samaria ou Agia Irini.
La chambre se trouve en haut de l'escalier, la première sur le palier, vous entendez les gens qui passent et parlent devant. Un peu plus de pression dans la douche serait appréciable.

Reviewed Apr 30, 2026Sehr netter Gastgeber der für alle Fragen ein offenes Ohr hat. Ich war als Wanderer des E4 dort um diesen Ort als Ausgangspunkt zur Besteigung des Gigilos zu nutzen. Bei Bedarf fährt einen der Gastgeber auch kostenlos an umliegende Startpunkte zum Wadern, z. B. an den Eingang der Samaria- Schlucht.

Mi-avril, il faisait froid là-haut et nous avons apprécié la soupe et le chocolat chaud. Le propriétaire nous a gentiment amené en voiture au départ des gorges d'Irini pour nous épargner quelques km de route.

Reviewed Nov 6, 2025Comfortable and good stop point for visiting Samariá National Park. Charming sounds of sheep/goat bells at bedtime. Good shower pressure, comfortable beds but bed sheets a bit short so became a bit wrinkly overnight. Nice food at the restaurant and free shuttle to the Samariá National Park in the morning. Friendly staff with good explanation of process for visiting the NP - get a free shuttle to the car park by 9am (or pay €5 to park your car there), at the car park cafe buy €7 bus ticket for ride back from Sougia to Omalos, at the NP entry point buy entry ticket to NP, hike down to Agia Roumelia and have a nice swim at the beach before the ferry leaves at 5:30pm, At Agia Roumelia buy the €15 ferry ticket which takes you to Sougia where you get the bus that is waiting for you, even if the ferry is late. The bus driver was lovely and can drop you either at the car park or Omalos Hotel. I did the hike on last day of season 31 Oct so return bus trip was in the dark, from 6:30-7:30pm.
Mosquitoes can get in if not careful. Temperature of heating can be adjusted but it was turned off during the day so my towel didn’t dry (It was October).

Morgens gibt es ein leckeres Frühstück für 7€ und einen kostenlosen Shuttle zur Schlucht. Das Hotel ist familiengeführt und die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich.

Reviewed Oct 23, 2025Śniadanie dobre, typowo greckie, lekkie. Bardzo podobał mi się wystrój hotelu. Nie był taki standardowy jak w sieciówkach, ale miał klimat. Czuć było ze jest się na Krecie.
