Die besobders gute Athmosphäre, eine gesxhmaxkvolle traditionelle Einrichtung, ein sehr fürsorgliches, hilfsbereites Personal und ein sehr hilfsbereiter Besitzer, der uns beim Buchen des nächsten Hotels und der Bustickets sehr geholfen hat, hervorragende Küche!. Im Aufenthaltsraum wurde extra für uns eingeheizt ! Wir werden das besondere Hotel gerne weiterempfehlen.

The owners family are wonderful. Tsewang Gyurme Gurung is the owner and a 10th generation Tibetan medical practitioner. He speaks very good English and you couldn’t find a more knowledgeable and friendly host. His mother is very kind and warm hearted as are the staff. The hotel used to be a family home but has been converted into a hotel with 6 spacious, clean and comfortable rooms with private bathrooms. Hot water is available on sunny days as water is heated by solar power. The food is good. Location is perfect, almost directly opposite airport but quiet as there are only a few small aircraft flying in the morning and Jomsom is a small attractive town with all essential facilities. The hotel is very tastefully and respectfully decorated in Tibetan style and despite the affordable price is one of the best hotels in town. Personally I would rather stay here than anywhere else because it has real character and charm, the kind you never forget and cannot buy. I will really miss this place.

It is cold in Jomsom when there is no sunshine but when it gets very cold there is a wood burning stove in the communal room that makes this place feel like home.

I liked how clean and comfortable the rooms were for a house made up of mud. The staff were also very friendly.

The checkout time. We did not realize the checkout time was 11am neither did the staff make us aware during checkin. Exactly at 11am the next day we got a call from the owner to clear the room. Not a hospitable word. Just that we should be aware of the checkout time and should leave and that they need to make the room ready for another guest. We rushed and cleared out at exactly 15 minutes. Without being aware of this we were called and asked to leave again. Twice. I mean I do get the urgency during busy seasons but just a few polite words and a little bit of professionalism from the owner’s side would have been nice.

Cozy common area around the wood burning stove, with the host telling stories about the area. Lovely old wooden building with character. One of our most memorable stays in Nepal. We appreciated that they allowed us to store our bikes in a secure indoor area.

The owner was super friendly, and the house has been beautifully transformed into an antique-style hotel.

Hotel Dancing Yak is a very nice, comfy, and budget-friendly place to stay. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the indoor restaurant serves delicious food perfect after a long travel day! What impressed me most was the staff’s helpfulness. While I was traveling from Ghandruk to Jomsom, I faced a little issue with transport. I called the hotel, and within just 15 minutes, they arranged a sharing taxi for me. That kind of quick support truly made my journey easier. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area great hospitality, comfort, and value for money!

I liked the traditional style of the hotel.

There is no soundproofing in the rooms. I was woken many times by barking dogs. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The hotel is overpriced.

The owner is so caring. He planned me a short itinerary for my day in Jomsom, he also took me to watch some of the locals play archery and to watch music.

Good location Good food

It feels like there is no privacy with how little sound proofing there is. I can hear everything outside of the room very clearly. There is only a thin curtain on the windows, which doesn't give full privacy. The staff knocked on our door and called inside to us while we were resting. Good intentions to help, but it felt a little bit intrusive.

This is an authentic Himalayan experience. Owner said it used to be family home but turned into a lodge, then had to reclass as hotel. The room was spacious and clean, nice en-suite, good food in big portions. Nurse from Pokhara stop outside, loads to see.

No problems here, but you need to know the stairs are typically steep as across most of rural Nepal.

Vintage style stay.

Missing Spray Jet at toiletarie, but can be managed if u are flexible.. The rooms are cozy but this is what u get at 3500 m altitude. Some fresh air move needed inside rooms and Main Dinning area, which will make stay more energetic. Overall , it's good to go.

If I could rate Dancing Yak higher than 10, I would !!! Simply the highlight of my Nepal trip. My room was spacious and cosy/authentic. It was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and I had a great view of the nearby mountains. The owner and his staff went above and beyond for me. The owner even sat down with me, took his time and told me about the area and where/what I could go and visit. He also helped me rebook my bus ticket to Pokhara and he even drove me 5 KMs on his motorbike to a place from where I could easily hike up to a small authentic village. I don't think this is something that everyone should expect, but it just tells you something about how well they treat their guests!!!! I was supposed to stay at Dancing Yak for 3 nights, but I ended up extending my stay twice 😊

It was a very pleasant stay overall. Food was great. The owner took us for a little walk in the mountains at night for star gazing. We also got excellent views of Mountain Nilgiri in the morning. Very glad we stayed there.

Clean and confortable room. Hot shower, good food, beautiful decoration. But more important the kindness of the host and all the help and advices for your stay !

Owner was amazing and very welcoming. Not sure why there are bad reviews but they are not true. Gave us the info we needed for the area and drew maps for us when we went on a hike/walk to Dhumba Lake and helped to sort the bus ticket back to Pokhara. Beds were warm and the shower was lovely and hot, food was amazing and not too expensive plus the location is perfect. I would definitely stay here again coming to Jomsom.

The host was very kind and interested; we had a great conversation! The facilities were also very good—towels, toilet paper, and excellent Wi-Fi! The price was great for the value!

Stair for going to the 1st floor is very dangerous made of wood very steep. Old model.

The receptionist was not there when I reached. I had to call him and do the checkin.

We had a lovely time at Dancing Yak. Tsewang & the whole team were a pleasure to spend time with. We will definitely be back next time we stay in Jomsom!

Location right across from the airport. Basic facilities but so charming and authentic. Staff and food are exceptional. Staff always ready to help and anticipate travel problems for you. Food is from scratch, cooked by local, young man, and served hot and delicious. Meet the owner. He’s an amchi or healer. So interesting and kind and he’ll show the spot for best photos. A real Mustang experience.

Guests need to ask for towels.

Location is near the airport

Smelled like paint. They didn’t know we were coming. Wifi didn’t work. The power went off few times. Sheets didn’t look clean.
