Staff were lovely The Royal Oak was picture perfect Room amazing Breakfast brilliant
Nothing to not like
Fab staff, great food and comfortable bed so what more could we want except Guiness on tap.
No car park as there are improvements ongoing.
Beautiful pub tranquil location
A bit tricky to park on a Sunday but the end of the day spaces start to free up
Pretty rooms and extra touches e.g. port / Buck’s Fizz at breakfast. The food was amazing! Staff were friendly. Air con machine provided in the room.
Not an issue for us but could be for others - construction works ongoing at the rear however workers were conscious not to be noisy before we were awake.
Absolutely stunning hotel and location. Everything you want from the Cotswolds, cosy decor and great traditional bar.
Lack of parking if in a large vehicle.
The atmosphere in and around the Royal Oak is quintessentially perfect for a lovely pub in a cotswold village. The food was delicious and the wine selection impressive. Our bedroom was beautifully spacious with a Kingsize bed, lovely big bathroom and separate WC. The toiletries provided were plentiful and of a very high standard. Worth noting that the room we were in is only suitable for the fully mobile, due to the steep and twisting 'hundreds of years old' staircase to reach it - but no problem for us.
It is very hard to try to find anything negative to say about The Royal Oak. There is such a relaxed feeling to the place that nothing spoiled any aspect of our stay and the staff were so nice and friendly we are looking forward to the next time we can manage to come for a treat.
A beautiful old, but very well maintained property. It seems they are expanding and adding to it, but is delightful.
There was nothing I didn’t like about it.
beautiful room, very clean , spacious and comfortable - amazing breakfast
nothing- all perfect
Could do with normal bread for toast. The location is outstanding.
The stairs are very steep so not advised for older people
Cosy quirky and stylish in beautiful quiet village
Beautiful place

The location was great, easy to get around by car. Staff were amazing, friendly and attentive. Facilities were great and we had a very comfortable stay. Food was very good, we had breakfast and dinner, both delicious.
Limited parking on site but plenty available locally.
Absolutely gorgeous stay.
Room, location, staff, food
Nothing, it was perfect
Comfortable, cosy and well appointed room. Very friendly staff and excellent food.
If I was being really, raelly picky I would want more English Breakfast tea bags in the room.
Lovely traditional stone pub in a beautiful village

Cosy, intimate, local and quiet. It’s a real hidden gem.
Attention to detail throughout and excellent food and service
Restaurant was great. Breakfast and staff were excellent. Evening menu was a little limited but what we had was very nice.
We were woken both mornings by building work right outside our room. Room was extremely hot although there were fans. Thank goodness we were not there when the temperature was very high. Food prices were a little high for a pub. Didn’t do liquor coffee and hadn’t heard of Cointreau
Details in the room & breakfast was delicious
Car park not accessible due to building works. But lots of street parking nearby
Fantastic Village Pub

Lovely village location quirky rooms were comfortable but if you have walking difficulties access could be difficult.
We found nothing to dislike
Beautiful stylish venue set in a tranquil cotswold village . The interior has been stylishly curated in keeping with its age . The rooms are beautiful the food is delicious and the staff friendly and welcoming .

In a lovely quiet location. Lovely rooms,
It was very noisy in the bar at night, which did disturb our sleep.
Excellent place and excellent staff. We had a small hiccup with our amazing room but the two ladies managing the restaurant and accommodation were superb and the management should be very proud of their skills and communication. Would highly recommend. The food and drinks were superb!
Gorgeous pub and inn set in an idyllic picturesque village. Room was very well equipped and comfortable, if not a tad small. Bathroom was a good size with the best shower! We had a delicious dinner and breakfast with excellent service from the fabulous staff.
Lovely quiet village with typical Cotswold houses. Beautiful church.
Limited choice for continental breakfast. No choice of cheeses or cold meats, muesli or granola. Only whole fruit available- could have more variety such as strawberries, blueberries etc. Different types of breads would have been nice not just brioche.
Quaint, historical pub with lots of original character!
Nothing
1) Ramsden is a characterful Cotswolds hamlet. 2) characterful pub and restaurant. 3) comfortable spacious room with nice view a bath and power shower. 4) ability to have a good enough dinner in the pub 5) could watch i-player on the TV
1) the full english breakfast is excellent but if you don't want a full english the breakfast is extremely limited (no toast, marmalade, muesli, genola, natural yogurt or chopped up fresh fruit). 2) the dinner menu is limited and was the same both nights. 3) can't have breakfast before 8:30am.
Staff were lovely
The accommodation was 2 floors up in the attic, not suitable for a dog, incredibly hot, we checked out the same day we checked in.
Quiet, cosy, friendly, good location, great walks
Room was a little cramped
Quirky,clean and an amazing location
Quiet location
Unfortunately the property was undergoing some renovation so the car park wasn’t available and we were not informed of this inconvenience

Honestly, one of the most beautiful little pubs I’ve ever been to. Food was amazing and not ridiculously priced, staff were incredible and the room was spacious and comfortable! Couldn’t recommend it enough for a country getaway!
Parking was limited but we were fine

Spiral wood staircase for disabled person with walking stick!
The Christmas decorations were so beautiful and gave it such a festive feel, probably the prettiest pub I have ever been in. The food was incredibly delicious and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly.
We love this property, it was our 4th time staying and we will back next year - amazing food and service.

It was decorated beautifully, so warm and welcoming. Little touches on action were welcomed!
The toilets in main bar were not working properly.
The room exceeded our expectations, so cosy and the decor was great. We had dinner in the restaurant and a drink in the pub and the vibes were unmatched!!
Cosy little stay
Tried to book a table online said it was full we sat in the bar and the restaurant was never full all night they didn't advertise you can eat in the bar if the restaurant was full think they are missing a trick
I loved the pub, the decor and the food was amazing. The room was really comfortable and didn't hear any other guests, the things provided in the room were just right, shampoo etc. Really nice tough to include breakfast and the range offered was really good, loved the waitress even popped a bottle of prosecco for us to have a glass wirg breakfast!
Nothing really
Great location, traditional English pub. Friendly staff. Clean and very comfortable. Food was excellent.
How festive the property was and the food was incredible! Lovely comfortable rooms and everything was very accommodating.
I enjoyed everything!
Another excellent little gem in the Cotswolds! A very cute, picturesque old country pub. We stayed in the family room and absolutely loved it - our daughter was crazy about the very spacious bunk beds and we enjoyed the really comfy double. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, the staff were excellent throughout - we loved it and will definitely be back! 15 minutes from The Farmer's Dog, 20 minutes from the gym comp we needed to get to in Carterton, an excellent location.

Small room, but perfectly formed and cosy. An excellent breakfast, with lots of choice in a very atmospheric dining room. Next level service too!
Nothing - it was all perfect!
The pub itself is delightful, very cute and cosy and in a lovely little village. The room was very well decorated, comfortable and well equipped with some thoughtful touches. We loved the breakfast and the check in and out was simple and easy.
The shower was unfortunately cold and no heating in the morning! We did raise this however the problem wasn’t fixed prior to us checking out.
The location, friendly staff and lovely room. The pub was very christmassy and welcoming
We loved our stay. Just one night. The room was perfect for us all. (2ad + 2 teens + dog). The food was fantastic and the service friendly and impeccable!
Breakfast Character Stunning property
A bit more info on checkin
Breakfast
Lack of heating in the bedroom. The stairs are not meant for the older visitors
The staff were just amazing. So welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious. Great quality. Rooms were spacious. So clean. Everything was great.
We liked everything.
Breakfast was incredibly good. Steak and Eggs for breakfast is a revelation and the Full English is up there with the best. Delicious Sourdough bread used for the toast as well. Room was lovely, almost like a little cottage. Easy to get to and located within easy reach of some lovely sightseeing locations. The restaurant is also very good. Very well cooked food and interesting twists such as honey and cashew nut Tenderstem brocolli. ALL of the staff were very friendly and professional.
It was all pretty much perfect
Beautiful surroundings and decor Set in the perfect spot for a visit to oxford and local village walks The restaurant was so pretty with twinkling lights and rustic furniture
Lovely Pub with lots of character and ambiance.Staff were very happy and went out of there way to help.Beautifully clean room with large bed and roll top Bath. Perfect couple of days, midweek!! Thank You all at the Royal Oak!!

Lovely location. All looked very pretty lit up with fairy lights.Nice atmosphere on arrival. The staff were super friendly especially Josh and Chacely. The family room was quirky with huge bunk beds that my older daughters slept in. Everything was very clean. The room was lovely and warm. Delicious breakfast. would highly recommend.
Nothing to dislike
This place is perfect - great pub with quite peaceful atmosphere. The food drinks are no less than perfect and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very welcoming. The place and surroundings are perfect for short and long walks in near villages and beautiful green fields.
There was one minor issue - low WiFi. I need it mainly for work and it was somewhat slow. I was still able to work though and it did not affect my experience. I still think the place is perfect and definitely going to come back next years.
Set in a beautiful, quaint, quiet Cotswolds village. The pub/restaurant is lovely with good evening meals. The breakfast menu had a good selection of options and those that we had were great. The full cooked breakfast, in particular, was wonderful with very good quality ingredients. Our room was compact but perfectly functional and comfortable. Good water pressure (for shower). We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back if in the area again.
Great place and lovely staff. Very good food also.
