Great place to relax in front of the sea, Alex the owner is very friendly. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with AC and hot shower. The Sauna is also great to relax before going to sleep. The food is good and affordable. We enjoyed our time here very much.

We recently stayed at Surigao Dream Beach for a night, and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience! From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent. The true highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality. The owner, Alex, and his entire team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were incredibly attentive and graciously accommodated every single one of our requests with a warm smile. The property itself is a beautiful relaxing haven. The swimming pool is fantastic and perfectly situated to take in the breathtaking scenery. It was the perfect spot to unwind. Our room was wonderfully spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of enjoying the resort. If you are looking for a beautiful getaway with top-notch service, I cannot recommend Surigao Dream Beach enough. We only stayed for one night, but we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Not yet fully furnished. Room has no tiles. There was a bad smell of septic tank. It is very far from main highway. I added extra person since some resorts offers extra foam bed but they don’t have.

Rude to visitors. After not being in the Philippines for 6 years finally get picked up at the airport by family and the minute we check in and family helps with bringing stuff to our rooms the owner is rudely telling them they have to leave now. Then the second night had a brownout for 5 hours sweating our butts off and being bitten by mosquitoes because the sliding doors didn't close all the way. My 2 year old daughter had bites all over. Rude, not accommodating and sliding doors don't shut all the way allowing bugs inside. Plus you are watched like you are in prison and if any family want to visit for even 5 minutes they are asked to leave instantly. No backup generator so if there is a brownout you will feel like a turkey in the oven.

Relaxing place with great pool and friendly staff. Sauna is nice plus and experience for first timers. Owner can arrange many different trips around Surigao region.

Fantastic location, right at the pebbles beach. Very friendly and concerning owner and staff. Good and fresh food, at the restaurant or delivered to the terrace in front of the room. Very interesting and special tours!

Staff were great, facilities were nice. Cold AC, private rooms, clean bathrooms. Will definitely make it our only resort location when visiting Surigao.We rented 5 out of the 6 available rooms so it was like having a private resort.

Traffic due to construction makes certain sections 1 way only. Can take time to get to location depending on traffic.

Friendly staff, which are very helpful and accommodating. Theres plenty of excursions to do if you want in the area closeby. The food and drinks are also priced well, and the pool is lovely. Rooms have plenty of space to store everything and a nice seaside view.

The bed is a bit hard and the rooms are getting a bit rusty, but that's not a big deal for us.

Years ago, I read an article in Finnish magazine Iltalehti about Aleksi Katajala, who fulfilled his dream and built a guesthouse in the Philippines. After reading the story, I decided that if I ever traveled to the Philippines, Aleksi’s place would be one of my destinations. When I started planning my winter holiday in August, I booked my stay at Surigao Dream Beach Resort immediately after securing my Hong Kong flights , even before I had figured out exactly how I would get here. Surigao is still an unknown destination for many travelers. There’s no mass tourism here, nor the kind of Western-style services many are used to. But what you will find is Surigao Dream and its fantastic host, Aleksi. The resort is located on a beautiful beach. The accommodations are excellent, with good beds, air conditioning, and tasty, affordable food available on-site. Aleksi is an excellent host: He shares stories about his life and about the Philippines, and he’s someone you genuinely enjoy spending an evening talking with. Aleksi also organizes excursions to nearby areas and personally acts as a guide. We visited a nearby floating village, snorkeled alongside mangroves while holding onto the boat, and I saw the most beautiful corals of my life. We also took a boat trip to a nearby “archipelago” with caves you can dive into, deserted beaches, and stunning scenery. Best of all, there’s no tourist rush or artificial atmosphere. There’s even a traditional Finnish sauna here, where you can enjoy the heat, look out over the sea, and simply appreciate the moment. Getting here requires a bit of effort, but the reward is a stunning location, exceptional hospitality, and memories you’ll gladly carry with you. One thing is certain, I will return to Surigao Dream. And if you’re planning a trip to the Philippines, make sure to include Aleksi’s guesthouse in your itinerary. You won’t regret it.

Absolut ruhig gelegen und viel Spaß im Hotel. Alex und Emily haben sich viel Mühe gegeben, unseren Aufenthalt bestens zu gestalten. Die finnische Sauna, der Pool und das Personal haben ebenfalls dazu beigetragen. Wir hatten schöne Ausflüge und wir wurden bestens versorgt. Vielen Dank.

Great bungalows, great pool, good food, lovely staff and a hot sauna! A little paradise. It's a bit further away from surigao, but the resort can assist with multiple different tours and ways of transport.

Very accommodating and a very good friendly staff this will be my third time going back there! BTW, the food is excellent 👍

Hosts Alex and Emily are amazing!

The individual bungalows face the beach and have great outdoor sitting for enjoying the beautiful sunsets. We loved the Finnish sauna and learned to enjoy the hot to cold experience in the pool afterwards. The food was also really tasty, with a good sized breakfast included.

It's a bit tricky walking down to the ocean for a swim due to lots of bigger stones, however, the water there is wonderful.

Lovely place for relaxation in a great atmosphere and vibes. They organise day tours everywhere you might want to go and the hosts and staff take absolutely great care of you. Delicious food in the restaurant and great sunsets to enjoy at the pool/sauna area. I had such a great time there that I extended my stay beyond my original plan.

This was the perfect location after a month of travelling throughout the Phillipines. Very relaxing and quiet! It is super isolated and very relaxing with incredible hosts and delicious food and amazing sunsets! Alex took us on 2 tours and they were absolutely amazing-higlights of our entire trip! Alex was super helpful and kind when our flight out was cancelled and helped us sort out an alternative. I really appreciated and enjoyed reading all about the history of this place and how much the community has supported this resort and how much the resort has supported the community. Very touching.

The bathroom could do with an upgrade. The sliding doors going into our villa needs replacing.

Fantastic owner Alex takes great care of the area and it actually feels both comfortable and homey. Staff cooks great food and is very friendly and the highlight is the Finnish sauna! We were surprised to see it on a beach resort, but it proved to be an amazing addition! Pool is very clean and well maintained. Rooms are spacious, air conditioning, hot water - everything works like a charm. We loved that there was a drinking water tank in the room too. Alex helped us with organised tours and was always present to help us with anything. It’s definitely the best stay we’ve had in the Philippines so far!!

Always the best service, staff are very attentive at all hours and so kind, it’s such a pretty area being both near the mountains and right on the beach! Most amazing sunsets over the water, the pool is amazing, villas are elegant & peaceful. If you’re looking wind down and relax this place is where it’s at!! Food is epic too, not to mention the incredible free breakfasts!!! Just beautiful, highly recommend :))

Kaunis ja hyvinpidetty resort, kaikkea oli osattu ajatella. Maisemat kohdillaan ja allas, sekä suomalainen sauna kruunasivat kaiken. Aleksi oli vieraanvarainen ja hauska isäntä, piti hyvää huolta vieraistaan.

The villa is spacious, clean, and complete with all the basic needs. The view from the room is beautiful. It was a weekday so we were the only guests, and we loved how quiet, windy, and relaxing it was. The pool and sauna are superb. Strong wifi. Has a warm shower. The breakfast was also really nice! Thank you Sir Alex, to your wife and the entire staff who were all really kind and friendly, and made sure that we'd enjoy our stay, who took the time to exchange stories. Thanks for the sauna challenge! Haha But most of all, thank you for being pet-friendly.

What I like best was that Alex was very nice, very welcoming, explained everything about the room and the food. Especially that we arrived late and just in time for dinner, he suggested us to order before we settled in our room cause the kitchen was about to close. The surrounding looks nice with gardens on the pathways. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

That there was no closed wardrobe that I could hang clothes.

Alexi and Emily are without doubt the most complete hosts you could ever wish for. From day 1 they accommodated our every wish.As guides They both excelled taking us personally to some of the most exciting and exotic locations. They kept the accommodation clean snd we had no reason to eat out because of their chefs culinary skills.Often they eiukd cook our selected meals not just from their extensive menu but also getting produce in for special recipes. I found their willingness to include themselves in our trips enchanting.Thank you to all the staff and the proprietors.

I know it sounds foolish but We found nothing negative in our stay even the power cut was easily steered around with effortless planning.

Everything is ok

Home away from home, but with a better view 😁 Staff super friendly and very helpfull. Small resort which gives a sort family/friends vibe. Pool is a must at sun set or at least enjoy a drink pool side. If we experienced some issues, they bent over backwards to fix it. We were 6 people, grandmom, parents and 3 kids age 4, 10 and 17. None wanted to leave after more than a week, which I feel is a quality stamp. We will be back I would recommend that you have own transportation, if you want to get out and about, there are busses going by, but never really could figure out their schedule.

The place is haven. Although it would be better if there would be cellphone signal for emergency purposes but other than that, the place is amazing. The sea and everything.

Alex and the team were super friendly and tried to make our stay as perfect as possible! The breakfast was nice! Our room was super comfy and the view and location was "dreamy". Since the weather was rainy, we spend one and a half day at the resort but we could keep us busy with the pool, the sauna, walks at the beach and the yummy food that we could order at the resto. The highlight: A tour with Alex to day-asan. Best decision ever and everything was wonderfully planned. We just enjoyed our stay to the fullest ☺️

Villa was spacious and indeed overlooking the beach. They had a restaurant that could do room service also if guests want to eat in the patio of their villa. There was option for A/C but the ceiling fan was actually enough to keep the room cool.

Roads going to the resort were not yet developed. Bathroom could still be improved - there was no partition between the shower area and the toilet so the toilet and floor get wet after showering. Hopefully they could offer more vegetables in their menu, too.

Alex the host/owner is very informative and helpful! He knows so much about the area and he is very approachable. The villas were great with stunning sunsets. Very very peaceful. The pool and sauna are great. The food served there is the best in Surigao! No need to eat else where.

Probably the only down side is the villas are close to the road but it is still peaceful and shouldn’t be a problem if you can handle a car going past every now and then

We had 3 wonderful days here at the resort. Sitting on the terrace and enjoying the sea view is really relaxing. The next step to relaxation is the original Finnish sauna. But the best thing of all is Alex and his team. Very friendly and helpful, breakfast is served on the terrace and every wish is fulfilled. Thank you for the lovely days.

Nothing to complain.

Staff were lovely and accommodating. Owner welcomed us and was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and good with many options. Room was clean and comfortable with private deck. Staff would bring meals and drinks to you on the deck. Free snorkel equipment to use. Pool was clean and beautiful view of ocean and sunset. Bar, pool and sauna open all night.

It is a bit far (30 minutes taxi) from downtown and ferry, but this made it very quiet and comfortable.

Oh the vacation that we very much needed happened thanks to Alex and his beautiful resort. The place is so peaceful and magical, the food is amazing and the rooms are so nice and welcoming. The rooms are located just a few steps from the beach, and the experience of waking up with the sounds of the waves and rainbows was to die for. Wish we had more days. We went in the low season apparently and the vibe was so enchanting and peaceful, not to mention the sauna and the infinity pool. Alex is the most fun loving man we have met in the Philippines with beautiful energy that takes care of his guests as though they were hie close friends. I dream of coming back there again.

Surigao Dream was a dream. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and their story is so interesting. The food they cook is delicious and the pool has amazing views with incredible sunset views. The Bungalows are great with their own private deck looking over the water and the beds are comfortable with plenty of room. Not far from Surigao City either, a great area to stay in when you visit.

Nothing that I didn't like worth writing about

Owner and staff were friendly and accommodating. Property is beach front with crystal clear swimming pool. Food was reasonable and cheap.

Room for improvement for bathroom facility. Hand towel, bathroom mat were not provided. Could do with reasonably newer towels. Towels were not changed for 4 days.

There is so much to love, the view, the sunsets right off your own balcony with big tables for taking your meals which they lovingly serve right there if you wish, the restaurant's delicious food, and free deluxe breakfast every morning, the fall away endless pool looking over the ocean, the ultra attentive staff, the great conversation with the owner "Alex." This was a dream vacation!!! Literally, for a fraction of other vacations, and the list just goes on and on.

Nothing, this was perfection, unless you want to stay in your room and watch tv. Because there are no tvs. They have wifi, so you can watch on your devices, but that's up to you.

Amazing place, our little family loved our stay. Alex and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and provide top notch service. Everything was perfect, the pool, sunset and the beach. They also served us such yummy food.

The staff was very accommodating and made us feel at home specially Alex. The weather wasn't friendly and they made sure we were comfortable the whole time. Also it's a plus that the place looks as gorgeous as in the photos - despite the bad weather.

Other than how far it is relative to other resorts, it was worth it anyway.

The property has a good view of the sunset especially when you’re at the pool. Our villa has a beachfront and we had our breakfast just outside our room with a sea view. The staff and the owner are very friendly.

We had a very old towel, I think that needs changing

The staff, pool, sauna and watching the sunset with the beach just there was great. Alex, Emily and their team were so helpful and friendly during our stay. Having the natural spring pool meant that we didn’t have the smell of chlorine on us and my daughter and travelling companion really enjoyed relaxing and swimming in their pool. The Finnish sauna was an unexpected surprise… (who thinks to have a Sauna in Philippines hot weather?) but rest assured using the sauna in the evening was just the icing on the cake. If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle type of place to stay this is the place to go.

The rooms could do with a little updating regarding pillows, towels and the cracks on the doors, but I’m sure Alex is working on this.

Probably one of the best resort I have yet to go to in suriago. The staff is amazing and hands on, they allowed us to check in and early and always accommodating. They even have Starlink in every room, so the WiFi is strong. Highly recommended.

Loved everything

Nice place with a great infinity pool and sauna, beautyful sunsets, 24/7 working pool, bar. Alex, the owner, is a great guy, who helped us a with travel tips and logistics a lot. He is always at the place, always with a big smile and ready to help, answer your question or just chat. Sauna was a big surprise for us. it’s looks kinda strange to go to the sauna in Philippines where is always hot, but you will be surprised how pleasant it is after an active day exploring surroundins. Hope one day we will come back to Surigao Dream!

Very nice location and friendly staff. Theres a beautiful view of the sea from your room. The owner gave us a ride back to surigao city for free.

It's expensive for the area but at the same time I don't know of any other resorts like it in surigao so it was worth it.

The property was surreal, with a coastal sea view from the room, pool and bar was unbelievable. The host was so welcoming from start to finish and even shared some stories of how the property was constructed whilst sharing a beer or two. It really was a fantastic stay. Totally recommend

We stayed for two nights with the family, and the experience was amazing. The rooms were comfortable, well set up and clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The owner is there daily and makes the place warm and welcoming. It's a hidden gem just far enough off the beaten track to be easily reached, but far enough away from it all that it's peaceful and relaxing. And to top it all off, the sunsets are amazing here. Take the time and enjoy them while sitting on your balcony looking out over the sea. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing idyllic experience.
