Nice pool. Lovely friendly staff and owners who were clearly knowledgeable about the island. Allowed early check-in. Comfortable bed.
Kids screaming in the pool for 5-6 hours during the day, meaning we could not enjoy, therefore we only manage to get in an hour before it closed! If you were sat on your porch, then you were constantly splashed by them. There was a physical altercation around the pool between a prostitute and an Australian visiting the bar and the guy who'd had the physical altercation was allowed to stay at the bar and drink excessively, making us feel very uncomfortable and was a key factor in us leaving early (we stayed 1 night and had booked 8). The lighting in my room was quite unbearable: you either had extreme bright white light or darkness. A warm light lamp does not cost a lot and my friend had one in her room. It actually made a lot of difference. There were no bedside lamps either so I had to read using my phone. The shower was a dribble of cold water. We bought breakfast the day before when they did allow us to check in early, but then when we got the free breakfast the next day, it was awful to be honest. It went from a full breakfast that we (over)paid for to dry scrambled eggs on toast and powdered orange juice. Also I was served pineapple juice in a can, which seems like a crime somewhere where tropical fruits are available. Generally the food quality was pretty substandard and massively overpriced. In relation to the price of the food, I paid over ₱1,000 for a breakfast, a dinner, and a couple of drinks. To give perspective I paid less than ₱8,000 in the high-end resort we moved to for 7 nights eating two meals a day and lots of mocktails, not from a can! We were very much overcharged for the journey from Siquijor port (we paid 1500 pesos for a tuk tuk and to return in an air conditioned car it cost 700 pesos for a longer journey). Guests visiting the bar have to walk past the pool and your private space to get there, so really there is no privacy. There was no way to lock our rooms from the outside. Also there is nowhere to lay down and recline and relax. .
Pool direkt vor der Hütte. Gutes Essen. Rollerverleih direkt vor Ort. Nettes Personal.
Nice place, owner helped us with transport - transport was a bit overpriced - for this money for the one night stay you could expect hot water or at least basic products like soap or shower gel - pool is nice, restaurant also, but we expected more and better return on money
no hot water, no soap or shower gel
The owner and staff were wonderful. They were very friendly and accommodating. Nice atmosphere and the pool was right outside our door. Drinks available of all kinds. Food was good and the view was very nice. The rocky beach is gone during high tide, but is accessible during low tide for looking at sea life. Motorcycle rental was easy and the price was fair. Neighbors are fairly quiet; even during Holy week when we were there. We enjoyed our stay and the people we met. Locals including expats come by for food or drink. They are also very friendly and we enjoyed conversations with them. They helped us with knowledge of the area and their travel experiences.
It needs some TLC. The tile floors need to be reworked and the shower pressure is not very good. It is a public pool, so its not possible to sleep or nap with the noise of kids in the pool. My bicycle helmet had no padding, but my husband's was fine. Its location was far from anything in town, approximately 30-45 minute's, but that could also be a bonus for some. Its 1000 Philippine Pesos from the Port of Siquijor to Banka Beach guesthouse. They looked to be continually doing projects around the property to improve quality and comfort for their guests stay. The staff and owner seemed to have a family vibe, although not related. They really care for each other and their guests.
The setup and concept is great, very smartly structured, it has potential.
Not maintained properly to live up to the pictures.
The rooms were spacious and clean. They had their own bathroom and flushimg toilet. They also had aircons in.the rooms we stayed in. The atmosphere was warm and staff were very friendly , with the owners living on site. They were super easy to.talk to and the husbadd was Australian. We were able to.order breakfast, lumch amd.dinmer which made it easy to just chill and.not have to go out. My friend ordered.aussie burger and was glad it come with beetroot. The owner also bery acomodating and arranged a massuese and a nail technician to come to.the resort so that we didn’t have to.go anywhere to.find one..When we did venture out, we were able to hire some mopeds at the resort, making it super easy to mavigate our first time being here.. We felt super safe and enjoyed just sitting back, swimming in the pool and meeting new people in a laidback environment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Weare already planning for our friends t jin us here next year!
I didn't like tbat I had to leave.
friendly staff
schlechte location, duschen überschwemmen, offene lücken im dach
Really great stay. Bit more remote if you don’t have your own transport but peaceful and wonderful owners. I even went with them to the town fiesta which was a really good experience. Thanks for great memories!
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I have been holding on to do this review but honestly I feel like there are things that are just unacceptable. •NO hot shower •Shower is dirty, not so much water coming out of the shower head because the little wholes are just blocked with dirt. •Scooter rental is more expensive that it is regularly in the island and the scooters are very out of date, they need to be serviced and at least cleaned. •Bed sheets are stained and you only get a flat sheet to sleep with which doesn’t make sense. You don’t really pay a low price to see the rooms so poorly maintained.
Very comfortable bed and clean unit with great little pool out front. Food was great and well priced. All the staff were very friendly. I loved the nautical character of the place and sitting looking out to the ocean
Nice place and isolated to fully disconnect. Restaurant was good and had various offers. 6 différent type of breakfast available. We enjoyed our stay
Nothing
Charming place
Not hot water available for the shower
Little swimming pool On the shore Peacefull area, far from San Juan
Unable to reach the hotel by phone before arrival despite several trials Small room Sawage water smell in front of the room No hot water in bathroom
Bonito lugar, tranquilo y personal amable.
Friendly,Lovely People
They have to close the bar 9pm
The Ocean and the Pool are the highlight
The Atmosphere and Feel at Home
No Airport pick up but you can request
The staff and vibe are absolutely incredible.
The location was beautiful
The beach was really not swimmable
Tous etait top
The sound of the waves and Birds singing in the morning
Transport but they have motorbike for rent and they can call a tuktuk for you anytime so not a hassle at all
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.Food are scrumptious

Great food, nice staff, ocean is beautiful. Pool is sparkling clean. Close to Solagdon beach and the Marine reserve. Much less crowded on this side of the island. Love it.
Really nothing! Everyone was so nice and they even kept the bar open late for my drunk butt. 😂
Rooms are so cosy and People are nice
The good foods .I have to keep eating. food here are amazing
Poolside rooms very close to the beach. Beautiful views from the restaurant and bar. Staff is exceptionally friendly! Good food at reasonable prices. I understand why they were just voted best beach bar on Siqijour!! A title well earned. Minutes from Solagdon beach and Tulapos marine sanctuary!!
Actually there is really nothing bad I have to say. The bar closes a little to early for me!! But then again I never know when to call it a night. 😂
Awesome people Located in a peaceful place with great access for everything
The bar closes at 8 or 9pm
Nothing
I was arriving by the ferry in the evening, after 2pm, which they knew, sent me an email, check photos , so I got a different hotel. I came to ask for a different day, but looked at the property and decided to ask for a refund. She tried to say it was my fault for not emailing her , look at photo no where does it say to do that, then said that they didn't receive the money until the end of the month, so I just said OK I'll keep my review until then, as soon as I said that she accused me of being threatening and said if I put a review in it would be defamation, also noticed the Rottweiler less than 10 ft from the desk. So I left and guess what lady you Don't intimidate me. I posted with pictures exactly what transpired. BTW defamation is when you say something untrue, as I have posted the photos backing up what I said.
The place is isolated and a great recommendation for those who likes peace and quiet, far away from touristy places. Food was great and definitely worth the bucks. We were well accommodated and requests/inquiries were entertained well, specially when we needed to rent a service to tour us in the island. The staff were friendly and approachable. The set-up is very intimate and is easy to mingle with the other room occupants. The pool is kid friendly and not really deep (3 feet max) suggesting more of a chill/relax dip in the pool.
We were given a heads up on the rotational blackout so we were already expecting some downtime. The downside was their internet connection was down for most of the duration of our stay so we had to walk-in on another resort to settle some of our online obligations. Since the location is isolated, there's no mobile reception for both Globe and Smart users so mobile data wasn't also an option to connect online. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights (Wednesday to Sunday) and their internet was down for 3 days and 2 nights (Wednesday morning to Saturday).
The foods we’re great 👍
Out off their control but still a bit inconvenient perhaps was the ongoing power outage on the island. Good thing there’s a backup generator so there electricity and running water 👍
The staff is fantastic, friendly and accommodating. Nice bar and good food readily available. It's a quite location.
It's a bit remote but easily accessable on the main road.
The owners are so friendly and welcoming. Lovely little spot tucked away with prestine pool, great food, and lovely view of the ocean. Highly recommend.
Lovely stay in Siquijor, very calm place and good food Thanks Jarrod and Camila for making my stay so much better!!
Staff was very kind. The restaurant (albeit a bit pricey) was decent. The location is very quiet, everyone respected each other’s sleep and it’s very nice to fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
We have mixed feelings. The huts are ok, but need better cleaning. The pool would be great if it was clean. But most important, it’s all about money and not about service here. They ran out of scooters for us but offered to take us to a partner shop- we had to pay for that ‘transfer’. We ordered a tuktuk to our next hotel through them and had to pay 1000(!) for a 15 minute ride. According the the driver, this was because they take commission. Either way, that is an absurd amount. We had laundry done that took quite long which was fine, but we got it back 10 minutes before leaving. Upon unpacking at the next destination, we noticed unexplainable grease stains in some clothes that subsequently had to be thrown away. There is no way they did not see it as we got our things back folded. All of this left an unfortunate after taste, especially because we spent quite a bit of money here at the restaurant because it is the only one in the vicinity. Hopefully this can be seen as constructive criticism because there is a lot of potential here and again, the owners and staff are very nice.
The ambiance
No access to all network
It just does not get any better than this. The place is hosted by an Aussie Jarrod and his Philipina wife Camilla. Fantastic people treated us like friends. The staff were also great and good humoured and looked after us very well. The business has its own very reasonably priced Yamaha 125 scooters, which we rode the wheels off..ha ha ha. The bar is boat themed very charming. The bar and food services are first rate. We dined there every night, and we were served the most delicious meals, some of the best anywhere we have travelled in the Phillipines. The facilities are comfortable with a nice pool, native style huts with great AC roomy bathrooms, a great bed, good TV with HDMI ports. I'm coming back here in the future and will be staying here again for sure. The owners left for an overseas trip before we left and we would just like to thank Jarrod, Camilla, and staff for making our stay a magic experience
Having to leave this paradise in Siquijor
Loved this place, really cool laid back feel, met the owners who were super accommodating and welcoming, would definitely stay here again, nice set up with the pool bar and beach.
The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. I had the Chilli con Carne on the menu it was delicious.
There is nothing I didn't like. There is a nice vibe at this guest house. The staff seem very happy in their work.
The Aussie owner is really accommodating and helpful and the place is beautiful.
We are disappointed to be writing this as the place is really beautiful and we were really excited to stay here. However, unfortunately the staff and organisation massively let this place down and impacted our stay significantly. We wouldn’t return for the following reasons: When we arrived we weren’t acknowledged and were stood with our bags waiting to check in for ages whilst the staff did other things or laughed between themselves. On the first night we asked for help with the smart tv, one of the staff members simply backed out of the room and said she’d be back but never returned. Also on the first night we gave in laundry. Every day we asked if it was ready, to which the staff told us it wasn’t. When checking out we asked for it for the final time and were told it still wasn’t dry after three days. We have been left with no choice but to pack our bags of soaking wet clothes, some of which are stained to the point of being ruined and smell. We have items missing and items that aren’t ours. On our third day we requested new towels which a staff member said she would bring when she ‘cleaned the room.’ We never received new towels, nor was our room cleaned. We also had one toilet roll for our entire stay and our bathroom bin was never emptied. We also asked the staff to help us book a tricycle to the port for our ferry at 8:45. We were told it was booked for 9:00, which was not the time we asked for. It then didn’t show up and we had to luckily find another local who was willing to help. We only just made the ferry but would have missed it if relying on the transport that was supposedly booked for us through the accommodation. The overall takeaway is that the staffing and management issues really let the place down and at times impacted our stay negatively. It takes an excessive amount of time to arrange anything through Bangka, such as scooter rental.
Great place with pool on remote part of the island. Nice huts.
Beautiful property on the beach with a lovely pool. Family owned and run and everyone working there is super friendly and helpful. The bar prices are great and all the food from the restaurant was exceptional. Highly recommend Camila’s home made Burgers and the Steaks with pepper sauce were delicious! The little cabin rooms are cute and furnished nicely. You need a bike to see the many sights of the Island but they have them to rent on site for a great price !
Liked everything but would have been nice to have tea/ coffee making facilities in the room and a rail to hang clothes,
I loved everything about my stay here! It's beautiful, the staff and owners are WONDERFUL, and their pool is my new favorite! I loved this place. They had the best steak I have had in the Philippines,-----by FAR! Can't wait to get back here!
The pool looked nice that's about it
No wifi no cell reception no drinking water in the room no door on the toilet air con wasn't great
Its nice, however it quite far from the center. If you want a solitude place to stay this one is highly recommended. The staff was all friendly.
The place, the staff is very accommodating
Nothing
Loved everything about our stay here.
The staff was super nice. We felt really welcome. We also were greeted by the dog. Food was awesome, the pool was nice and I actually liked that the location was very quietly located and a bit of a drive away from everything. You definitely need some sort of transportation to get around but we had no issues with that. Since there are only a few huts/rooms, everything felt more like family and I really enjoyed having good conversations with the other guests. Pool was nice and clean.
Unfortunately, in both our rooms our sheets and towels were stained. I don’t mean one small stain but rather a couple. I don’t usually mind but for the fact that the rules say to keep the sheets unstained, otherwise you get a fine youd usually kinda expect to receive the same thing. I also wish you could provide a little hand soap to use.
Fair price. Food and drink is at their restaurant. Moped can be rent. Room is big enough and good shower Pool is quite good
TV didn't work No soap or shampoo in the room No refrigerator No other restaurant closely nearby
The sound of the ocean and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
It was very very far from the main bar and restaurant part of the island. (About a 50min scooter ride). There was mould on our pillows and the airflow in the rooms was not great.
Very cool Staff - it felt like a second home. Very clean Pool, very cosy public area, owners and Staff help with everything. (Amazing sunsets here by the way) Be aware that a scooter is needed because this area is very off (we liked that)
Food is very delicious but mixed local and International- we prefer more local ones but thats only our preference. Unfirtunately bathroom was not very clean and alwayd wet. Anyway we would come again
I loved the food and the vibe next to the beach the most, the room was also really comfortable and clean up on arrival. Also met the two owners, both really nice people.
There was no wifey but that wasn't Bangka's fault, they were just working on a tower.
Great Design
Room is not air conditioned. It can get stuffy inside. No kettle or coffees inside the room. Or free water. Hard to get early hot drinks as the front doesn’t open til 0700. Or after 0700.
Lovely staff members and owners, Jarrod and his wife are great hosts and very generous, they really looked after us, gave lots of advice and took us to a local festival one night too. Having the pool there was a real privilege at times. The restaurant had great food and drinks, very reasonably priced also. They also made me a birthday cake which was delicious, very kind of them to do so. Great place to stay overall, would 100% recommend to everyone. We miss the dog!!
The pool and the staff were amazing! the owner Jarrod and his family are so welcoming and treat you like part of their family.
We will never forget our time at the Bangka Beach Guesthouse. Hosts Jared and Camilla were amazing, the nicest people we have met in the Philippines! They were extremely helpful as well as the staff, they were so kind and attentive. One example - our bag ripped at the seem and Mark the chef brought it home to fix up. The next morning it was back with us in pristine condition. The location was perfect. We were able to rent a scooter for the day & we spent it travelling around the island, it was unforgettable - thanks to Jared and Camilla for allowing us to rent! Their wonderful son Makoi and beautiful dog Jaka also deserve a special shoutout for making our trip so special. We will definitely be back in the future, think we would have stayed there forever if we could but an extra night was all that our itinerary allowed ❤️
The pool was great beds were comfy and sea breeze at the restaurant so nice
Water outages 2 nights of three. No wifi the whole time. Food lacked a bit and a bit overpriced for small portions and very remote so not much options to go elsewhere. The huts were nice but inside the room, the bamboo roof kept falling on our bed and things and birds came inside and did a poo.
Booking.com changed the dates without my approval. Good thing the owners were able to accommodate us since we were there already. They were very accommodating and the staff are all so lovely and kind. Thanks guys!
