It was very comfortable and a beautiful oak tree was nearby. The cows across the road were playful too. Gordon was kind and generous. A good host.

The unit was exactly as photos. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful. Gordon was friendly and gave us a warm welcome. He explained everything relevant to our stay. Definitely a great place to stay if anyone is planning a Road trip to Cape Reinga.

The location is stunning, very peaceful and the place is really special. The owner is also lovely, he is very helpful. The cabin itself has everything anyone could ask for.

The cabin was perfect for our visit exploring the Northland. We went in a different direction each day and returned to the serene cottage setting surrounded by flowerbeds and fields. The cottage itself was very clean, nicely decorated and appointed with everything we needed for our 5 night stay. Gordon, the owner, lives next door and checked in with us to be sure we had everthing we needed. We highly recommend a stay at Oak Lodge. We will definately stay again during our next visit north.

Well appointed accommodation with all facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Extra touches were well received - filtered water, coffee and tea, etc.

There's next to nothing to complain about and requires me to be super picky to come up with anything. SKY is just free to air options so that was not great, but the free WiFi supported streaming the sport off the laptop, so worked around it there.

This small house is an absolute gem! I loved my stay here and was sad that it was only for one night. The hosts have made a perfect little house, which has everything you might need and a lovely garden. 100% recommended. ❤️

Gordon was lovely - there to greet us. The accommodation was perfect - beautifully situated in a lovely garden, so peaceful to sit out on the deck and listen to birdsong morning and evening. Despite being close to the road there is no road noise The lodge has been so well designed - very comfortable and very tastefully furnished. The kitchen had everything needed. I would love to come back. We used it as a base for cycling the Opua- Horeke cycle track

Had the best stay at the Oak Lodge in Taheke. Gordon was a great host and met us on arrival. Thanks for providing us with a quiet place to base ourselves for a Northland road-trip. We’ll definitely be back.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Tout était parfait. Un très beau studio au milieu des fleurs dans un endroit paisible. L'accueil et la bienveillance de Gordon étaient au top. Une halte à ne pas manquer. Nous étions déçus de partir.

We loved everything, and Gordon is very nice

It was very clean, welcoming and comfortable. Plenty of facilities including a washing machine. We bought frozen fish in nearby Rawene and made a very nice meal using the oven. Our room was warm and very peaceful and quiet in the countryside. We were warmly welcomed by Gordon, our host who explained the essentials of country living. Being country folk ourselves. We understood water wise practices. We were pleased we chose Oak Lodge.

We loved the location of the Oak Lodge. It lies halfway between Rawene and Kaikohe. The location is perfect if you wish for a serene or peaceful getaway from the city life. The Oak lodge was beautifully set up and has most of everything you need. Gordan, the host, ensured we had butter, bread, milk and water and cereal ready for us at the lodge. At night time, there were fairy lights which was very beautiful and helpful when returning home af night, allowed us to navigate easier

Fresh baked goodies for an evening meal/snack. The fairy lights to calm my wife down at night. No traffic noise. Great shower ( Be careful!). Two friendly moreporks after midnight!

Very comfortable, lovely views, everything at our fingertips. We went there for planning work and relaxation. It was the most zen planning ever. Great hosts, well organized/easy.

Breakfast was great, nice bread and think the jam was home made, it was delicious! Nice location, only 15 minutes from kaikohe to get dinner and even though it’s not far from the main road there is no road noise.

The lodge was very nice, beautiful and peaceful surrounding. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Great stay.

Place was in a secluded farming area about 14km from the nearby town of Kaikohe. very quiet and serene whilst we were there. Host contacted us before arrival to see if we needed milk bread or breakfast things and then personally met us on our arrival and explained set up. Facility had everything we required, hot plates mini oven, microwave etc. good range of cereals as well as coffees and teas. Good shower. There were board games available for guests and good Wi-Fi as well as television.

I whole experience was brilliant, couldn't, wouldn't fault it in anyway..

The stay there was amazing , it felt like home with a touch of extra love and care. With the surroundings mesmerising and the night was beautiful to sit outside with a beautiful lit garden was truly bliss.

The hosts were amazing. Quite rural setting. Well appointed unit, very comfortable and cozy.

Peaceful and beautiful. House was perfect with everything we needed, fully equipped kitchen. Nice living area, good bathroom and cosy bed. Gordon and his wife even put up Christmas decorations for us and brought us a Christmas pudding! The extra touches really made a difference. Gordon was a fantastic host really helpful and considerate. Would definitely stay again

Oak Lodge is an ingeniously and impressively designed and constructed cabin which provides superb accommodation in a peaceful and serene setting. It is spotlessly clean and is exceptionally well equipped. Gordon, the host, is a really friendly guy who goes out of his way to make you so very welcome. There are some really nice touches which just add that something extra. The bed is super comfortable which really rounds off the whole experience. We had a thoroughly relaxing one night stay and would have stayed longer had we not pre booked ahead. If Oak Lodge is free do not hesitate to book it. And if it is not free you have missed a gem Thank you for making us so welcome
