4ベッドのみのこじんまりとしたドミで、オーナーはとてもフレンドリー。シャワーは水のみですが、暑いので気になりません。湖まで徒歩1分なので、湖畔でゆっくりするのもいいです。 1日1000ルピー(500円弱)でチャリのレンタルができ、周辺の遺跡を巡るのはチャリで事足ります。 あと、詳しくは言えませんがタイミング次第でより一層チルできます。

Hôte très accueillant et arrangeant. Jardin incroyable et lac à proximité. L’emplacement était parfait : calme mais proche de tout. Nous avons pu louer des vélos et visiter les temples ! Allez y les yeux fermés :)

Tornassi indietro, ci passerei una settimana. Al Chill House Hostel, quando non accade niente, accade tutto. Ti basta stare sdraiata sull'amaca del giardino di Jonti, per tornare a respirare. E se aguzzi la vista, incontrerai il varano, che vive indisturbato nel laghetto, una coppia di manguste che girano tranquille, scoiattoli, tantissimi, macachi sui rami più alti delle palme. Potrebbe capitarti d'incontrare anche dei tucani, ghiotti di frutta tropicale che Jonti lascia ogni mattina per i suoi amici, ma per questo incontro devi essere molto fortunato. Stare da Jonti è un'esperienza. Per farla, devi essere disposto a rinunciare a un viaggio mordi e fuggi. Fermati. Respira. Resta nel presente.

Très bel accueil, dortoir de 4 lits mais super convivial. Jardin très agréable à proximité du lac, idéal pour admirer le lever de soleil.

Je n'ai pas les mots tellement ce séjour m'a profondément marqué 😅 La guest house de Jonti est joliment décorée, chaque chose à une place et un sens. J'aime ce souci du détail ! La propriété est dans un magnifique jardin arboré dont il prend soin chaque jour. Vous pouvez vous prélasser dans un hamac ou directement dans l'herbe et observer les écureuils et les oiseaux qui viennent grignoter par ci par là. La nature fera son effet 🙏🏼 Tout est très propre, les lits sont confortables et il y a des grands casiers pour votre sac. Il y a également une cuisine ainsi qu'un frigo avec une salle de bain séparée. Au-delà du détail esthétique et pratique, il y a tout pensé pour le bien être des voyageurs : un ventilateur individuel pour chaque lit, une prise anti-moustique dans la chambre, un miroir pour se préparer, un rideau pour séparer la cuisine, des blocs portes etc. Le jardin est sublime avec énormément d'arbres et de plantes. C'est un havre de paix et un vrai petit coin de paradis 🙏🏼 Et pour finir, je suis pleine de gratitude envers Jonti, nous avons beaucoup discuté et échangé, c'est quelqu'un de très inspirant qui a fait de sa maison, un lieu parfait pour nous autres voyageurs ! Ce qu'il insuffle à ce lieu, cette ambiance respectueuse, doit se propager à l'ensemble de ces clients qui malgré des arrivées parfois tardives ont tous fait très attention à moi qui dormait déjà. Je ne regrette qu'une seule chose : ne pas avoir pu rester plus longtemps 😅 En plus, Jonti s'est demené pour me trouver une place dans un safari et j'ai eu un super guide et un super driver, grâce à qui, j'ai vu des léopards 🥰 Il m'a également aidé à organiser toutes mes visites et mes activités ainsi que les déplacements en tuk tuk. C'est MA destination favorite 🙏🏼❤️ et ça fait 5 mois que je voyage en Asie.

Super netter Gastgeber, der auch sehr hilfsbereit ist. Man kommt schnell in Kontakt mit den anderen Reisenden. Sehr schöner Garten direkt neben dem See. Ruhig gelegen und trotzdem nah am Bahnhof und Restaurants.

Calm, clean & cozy enviroment, animals and nature around playing carefully, good energy place to fall back into place after a long day in the sun. At night you can lay in the grass and watch the fireflies. There is a lake close by you can watch the sunrise and maybe meditate if youre into that. The host is a brother with the heart on the right place and he know everything there is to know about Anuradhapura. He helped me alot and had good talks, he made my stay a beautiful memory for life

Ich hatte eine tolle Zeit im Hostel und habe sooo nette Menschen getroffen. Hätte ich mehr Zeit gehabt, wäre ich länger geblieben. Es ist wirklich ein besonderer Ort den Jonti geschaffen hat.

-der Garten ist wunderschön -sehr sauber -Jonti (der Besitzer) ist wirklich super freundlich und lieb, sehr hilfsbereit wenn man Aktivitäten organisieren will (Fahrräder ausleihen, Safari, Restaurantempfehlungen), hat Kaffee angeboten -Jonti hat mit diesem Hostel seine eigene kleine Hippie Oase aufgebaut -da nur 4 Leute dort schlafen können ist es sehr gemeinschaftlich, und man lernt jeden irgendwie sehr gut kennen, vor allem weil abends auch zusammen gechillt wird

The host, the location, the ambiance. All was amazing. I booked for one night, but stayed for 3! If I weren't on a tight schedule, I'd probably be there still. There are small fans on the bed, so everyone gets their fair share and it's perfect against potential mosquitos. Comfy and clean beds, everything is cleaned thoroughly. Big closet for storage and small locker (b.y.o. lock) is in the room. The store is a couple of minutes away and the host will help you out anyway he can. Situated right down a viewpoint of the lake, great for gazing into the sun. Don't expect anything fancy, but all the basics are well above expectations. I am looking forward to visiting again!

Beautiful, loving space and lovely garden. Jonti is a wonderful person, very interesting and also super helpful with any organisation for sightseeing etc. He's infused the place with a beautiful energy. The garden is gorgeous! Will stay again when I return.

Enorm aardige eigenaar die de naam terecht doet! De sfeer is heel chill en alles kan. De kamer is super netjes en buiten kan je lekker zitten. De omgeving is rustig en mooi, je zit dicht bij een meer maar ook dichtbij het centrum. Echt een aanrader!

The hostel matched the listing perfectly—a charming, well-maintained spot with just 4 c beds on a walking distance from the town . Host Joni was incredibly welcoming, providing all the info we needed to settle in smoothly. Love the little kitchen for quick home-cooked meals. Joni also helped in arranging a scooter for us to visit all the attractions near by.

This is easily one of the best Hostels Ive ever been to! Very clean, very zen atmosphere, and a lot of places to sit, do Yoga or meditate!

Wunderschöner Fleck Erde mit toller Energie. Bezaubernder Garten. Man kann ganz viele Tiere hier beobachten. Super sympathischer und lieber Inhaber. Habe mich sehr wohl im Hostel gefühlt. Würde immer wiederkommen.

Chill House Hostel è forse la migliore struttura dove ho pernottato durante il mio viaggio in Sri Lanka. Partendo dalla posizione: l'ostello si trova molto vicino alle principali attrazioni di Ahuradhapura; si trova vicino alle principali stazioni di bus e treni e inoltre è molto facile raggiungere supermercati o ristoranti da qui. Tornando alla posizione, l'ostello si trova davvero vicino il centro ma si trova calato all'interno del verde del paese (si trova a pochi passi da un bellissimo lago, raggiungibile a piedi). Il propietario è super gentile, disponibile ed è stato di grande aiuto durante le fasi di programmazione del viaggio grazie ai suoi consigli. Inoltre, ci tiene particolarmente alla pulizia dell'ostello (cosa che infatti si nota subito appena arrivati). Jonti è stato senza dubbio un amico e non vedo l'ora di ritoranre.

This hostel is awesome, it's a fresh breath of calmness and peace. The host is very friendly and kind, he welcomed me like an old friend and made me feel at home. The place is an oasis of nature, with squirrels and birds all around, but still at walking distance from the town. It's also very quiet, because of the trees that stop the noise. Unfortunately I planned to stay just one night, but i would really have stayed longer just to enjoy the time with the host

Chill house hostel, the name says it all. Lovely place.

As the name suggests, super relaxed environment in a quiet location, beautiful garden with hammocks and a lake 100m away. Simple, but has everything you need, including a shared kitchen.

Fans were quite noisy overnight and no privacy curtains.

I stayed here for one night, and I have to say it was a very special experience for me! Just like its name, the place is truly CHILL. The house is not large, but it has everything you need, a beautiful garden and a shared kitchen. There is no hot water, but it was totally fine for me. The location is great, close to the bus station and city center, making it easy to get everywhere, can also rent a bicycle. The host gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. He was kind and friendly, and patiently answered all my questions. I had a very relaxed and chill stay here. If you’re looking for a minimalist yet homely place, this is definitely a great choice!

I loved my stay at Chill House, it’s a small cosy place surrounded by nature. The host is incredibly kind chilled and helpful, he waited for my arrival till 2 am. There is a small kitchen and you can also rent a bicycle. It has space only for 4 guests which makes it really cosy and familial. Beautiful simple decor and comfortable sleep even though it’s a dorm. Backpackers vibe, but suitable for everyone.

The atmosphere is amazing. The position in literally in the nature. On the lake side you can see different animals and there are cows and goats walking freely. The owner, Jonti, is the best local you'll meet in Sri Lanka. I spent here 2 nights at the beginning of my trip, and I came back to spend 7 more nights at the end of it because I wanted a safe space to stay, so yeah. It's worth it.

Sin duda el mejor lugar en toda la zona, Jonti mantiene un espacio de naturaleza en plena ciudad, armonioso, limpísimo, al lado del lago para buenos paseos, cerca de la estación de bus, tren y del centro. Camas cómodas WC impecabl, hamacas ideal para descansar, preparar rutas, conocer gente y estar en paz. Una maravilla, gracias Jonti.

I had the best time at Chill House hostel. The host is really welcoming and caring, and the vibe in the hostel is great. Very close to restaurants/shops but still surrounded by nature in a flourishing garden.

The hostel is small and secluded, which was perfect for me. I found it to be very social even with only 4 beds, in large part due to the amazing host, Jonti. He cares greatly about all guests (I was unwell during my stay, he offered to drive me to the hospital and checked how I was doing every day), he’s a clean freak so the hostel was immaculate, as well as the surrounding gardens. The facilities whilst basic provide everything you need. Jonti provided advice on activities and eating, chatted politics and told interesting stories. I would 100% stay again. The hostel is as described- Chill- and eased a lot of my anxieties during my first few days in Sri Lanka

The only downsides are things I knew before staying, and they were necessary to experience other benefits: it’s remote and wet, so there’s mosquitoes in the evening (but very few in the room, if any at night); the location is far from the town; showers are only warm not hot; the rooms is small. None of these things mattered to me as I felt right at home and very safe

Little hut on the other side of a bund separating it from a beautiful lake where nature is so blissful. Super friendly hosts, who are very accommodating and they kept the place just stunningly clean. Beautifully maintained garden with tons of little creatures running by throughout the day, their TV they called it and I understood why. An interesting selection of books for anyone to read on their shelf as well as basic amenities available. Highly recommend a dip in the lake water was beautiful, maybe don't use any soaps though. Would love to come again.

Lovely hostel and lovely people, I spent two beautiful days here 🌸 Jonti is such a nice, kind and helpful host, taking care of the space and the people. The hostel is beautiful and very clean, with very nice common areas, including a very good and clean kitchen that you can use. You really feel at home while being there. There’s also a beautiful garden where you can relax and there are some yoga mats available. So I can only recommend this hostel! Thank you so much Jonti 🙏😊

Everything was perfect

Chill house hostel is absolutely laid back and the hosts are great! Only a quaint 4xbed bunk room. Kitchen facilities available. Wonderful paved porch with hammocks and view of the beautiful garden filled with wildlife - saw a woodpecker, monkeys and a mongoose!

Super entspannte und freundliche Gastgeber und Mitbewohner! Haben uns sehr wohl hier gefühlt :) Zudem war es sehr sauber und man kann viele Tiere im Garten beobachten!

A truly special little hostel: very clean, well-kept and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and makes you feel at home right away. The porch and garden are beautiful, with plenty of cozy corners to sit, chat, read or simply enjoy the amazing sky and admire the moonlight reflecting on the palm leaves, feeling connected with the universe. I will definitely come back next time I 'm in Sri Lanka and stay longer to enjoy it even more.

The atmosphere is the best you can expect from a trip in Sri Lanka. Immerged in the clean nature, with amazing birds getting close to you hammock. If you expect open-minded conversations and good vibes as much as the touristic activities and visits, you must go there. The days spent in there will be a great and warm.

Paradise. I stayed longer because the hostel was so nice and relaxing. You feel like you are in the middle of a jungle, without the noise of the city but when you get out you're in the centre of the city close to the train station, market, local restaurants and the temples. Two minutes from a lake to see the sunrise with a yoga mat from the hostel. Clean kitchen, fridge, toilet, room. Jonty, the owner, has everything neat and well organised, he's very hardworking and helps with information or arranging safaris to Wilpatu. In fact, part of the good experience was meeting a wonderful person like him. A small room with two bunk beds (four beds). They have bicycles available to rent, useful for going to the temples. Free drinkable water.

No laundry (no problem). If you need AC, well, you don't have it. For the price you pay, there's no better value for money. Excellent choice.

The most chill hostel ever, Jonty and his friend are amazingly generous and kind. The room is very clean and serene. Jonty asked me what I wanted to do when I arrived at 8PM, and got me into a group safari the very next morning. Also the shower is amazing, best pressure in Sri Lanka.

Chill House Hostel is more than a hostel, it‘s a place where one can feel home and simply be yourself. One can feel how much love to the nature and details Jonti puts into this place. If youre lucky and can stay at this oasis of peace for some days, go for it and simply enjoy life. Extended several times and would do it all over again :)

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed! Jonti was always attentive, he kept the place clean and tidy, a kind soul to chat with! I enjoyed cooking and sharing food with my roommates, and just chilling out in the common area. Watching animals coming and going in the garden was fun - mongoose, monkey, parrot, Bengali monitor, woodpecker, kingfisher, hornbill, etc. Two minutes walk to the lake for sunrise/sunset. Truly a gem in Anuradhapura!

The place is small, only one room and a kitchen a a chill out zone outside, but man does it feel nice to be there! Probably one of the best felt places ive stayed in Sri Lanka, John D is a super nice guy who treats you like a friend and the size of the place creates a very comfy and intimate athmosphere. Also there are hammocks 🥰

If you are tall (like me with 198 cm), you will likely find the beds a bit small - but I have tried worse, this was just borderline, so I still had some good nights of sleep… 😅
